We stopped in for cool treat on a hot day. The sales clerk was very friendly and helpful. I had a wedding cake snowball with Hawaiian cream, and hubs had a vanilla ice cream stuffed coconut snowball. It hit the spot! I prefer the snowballs that have the shaved ice that is almost creamy in texture, but there was nothing wrong with the larger pieces of shaved ice served here. Next time, I’ll try the blueberries and cream flavor topped with marshmallow!

Stopped here to get a stuffed snow cone– ice cream in a snow cone. This place has tons of snow cone flavors, everything from grape to birthday cake.
A small snow cone costs $ 2.75, and it’s $ 1.50 extra to get it «stuffed.» The small was actually quite large in my opinion.
Overall, it was okay. I’ve had better. The ice cream portion wasn’t that tasty, and I wondered how long it had been sitting in the freezer due to my visit being in the off season.

Island Snowball is a lovely treat when you’re at the beach. Simply put, they serve snow cones and ice-​cream They have tons and tons of flavor choices for your snowball. Choose from their menu or create your own. You can also add ice-​cream to your snowball or order ice-​cream separately. Fun cold treats for a good price. Added bonus, their cold treats taste pretty good!
The shop is small but very bright and colorful. Reminds me of something I’d expect to find in Hawaii than in the Outer Banks, but I’ll take it.

6⁄2014: This is by far my favorite shaved ice place in the area — they’ve also got a limited ice cream selection.
Friendly service & tasty ice. I feel like they’d get more business if they were on the beach road, but I would pick this shop over all the others any day!

The most refreshing treat on the outer banks. It’s a little hard to find which is a shame because they are a hidden gem on the beach. Check their Facebook for specials. Friendly staff ask for Lauren she is the owner and brought the essence of snowballs to the beach. This isn’t your normal snowball. Mic and match as many flavors as you want and ask for tastes
