Averil Hull

Averil is amazing! I am really picky when it comes to my hair. I have extremely thick and curly hair. My hair was really long when I came to her and I was nervous about getting it cut, but her expertise and personality made me calm about what I needed to cut off in order to make it healthy. I put my trust in Averil and she gave me a beautiful layered cut. She then blew it out and I received compliments all day about my hair. Don’t pass up a chance to work with Averil. She is a true artist!

I want the world to know (well…at least, people who read Unilocal reviews) that Averil is an incredible hair stylist! She is an artist in her own right and she knows what’s best for your hair. It’s been 8 months since I saw Averil (she fixed my bad Ombré and did a fantastic job!) and with that I wanted to do something different and bold with my hair. Averil patiently listened as I share my vision of how I wanted my hair to look. She made suggestions and explained to me subtle things I need to change like how I do my makeup as to highlight my new hair color.
Let me just say, I was blown away when I saw my hair. I’m a bit tanned and she gave me a reddish copper hue and it looked amazing! My new hair color complimented my features! Everyone at work loved my new hair and can’t stop raving about it!

I have CURLY blond hair and Averil works magic. She knows what she is doing. She listens so well and understands what I am looking for each time– I completely trust her. I started with BALAYAGE highlights and then I made the jump to PLATINUM and Averil NAILED IT. She is a HIDDEN GEM. Right off of the subway/​easy to get to/​so easy to schedule with and easy to trust! I have never had more people stop me in the street to ask who does my hair. She is so so skilled at her craft.

I went to Averil when she was a stylist at Laura Braunstein. It was a Lifebooker appointment and Averil was the «stylist“of the day. I was so nervous! While the salon was lovely and offered you cocktails-​I dont care about cocktails I care about my hair! She was great. She took her time and my color and cut was the very best I ever had. I am picky and even a bit «prickly». Fast forward… I stayed with Averil for a long while until one day, had a cut and color and a little while later thought I needed a slight (and I mean slight) correction. I called Laura Braunstein and was sooooo rudely told tha she was no longer there! OMG. It is like losing your primary care Dr of years. What to do. They offered to re-​do my hair for full price-​charming offer– and finally after threat of I don’t know what-​gave me a # for her. Thankfully, I found her. She called me right back and I found like I found my best friend! The salon in which I found her is a sweet quiet calm small salon. Maybe no cocktail menu but fabulous coffee and Averil. She takes her time, ensures that you are happy with your cut and color and MOST importantly will not give you a cut or color that you want knowing that it is entirely wrong for you. I would highly recommend anyone who wants the very best cut, and color with a patient stylist to find their way to her. Do not think twice and do not let the «cocktail menu“fool you. Do we want a bloody mary or the very best cut and color? I will stay with her forever and hope that the «prickly“and picky like me will do the same! She is truly great

Averil is amazing!!! She is a hair genius. I am VERY particular about my hair and I trust Averil 100%. She is attentive, considerate and offers her expert advice without being pushy. When you leave your appointment with Averil you will feel simply gorgeous. She is a life changer. I HIGHLY recommend her. You will be so happy with the results.
