This review is only for the garlic fries. I ordered the garlic fries while they were at Chinatown summer nights. One order was 5 dollars for a somewhat small serving. It was garlicky and the fries tasted fresh. However, it was a little too sour for my taste. I think they use a vinegar based garlic sauce. I wouldn’t order it again. On their truck, they boasted it was the best garlic fries… Uh, no, it wasn’t even close.

I always ask the chef what they recommend and James said hands down the Chicken Pesto, he was so right! The strawberry crêpe was delicious, too, but there is something about the slightly sweet crêpe dough combined with the savory chicken and that delicious sauce they mix with the greens… fantastic. www.yelp.com/biz/crêpe-n-around-los-angeles

I love CREPES! I tried the truck while I was at Venice Beach Boardwalk and since then I’ve been following them on Twitter to look out for their location. Their CHICKENPESTOCREPE was amazing. I love sweetness and was a bit worried about going for savory crepes, but oh man, that crêpe was AMAZING. It’s creaminess and warmest was on point. I didn’t want to leave without trying a sweet crêpe so I went for the BANANANUTELLACREPE! OMG, it was bomb. It had a lot of bananas(which is something I LOVE) and I was able to taste the nutella every time I bite a piece. I am looking forward to try their Carne Asada Crêpe cause it looked bomb! Definitely will stick to eating at Crêpe N’ Around!!!

We hired Crêpe’n Around to come down to Santa Barbara and cater Sunday morning breakfast after our wedding. Everybody at the wedding so enjoyed James’ company and the crepes were fantastic. Plus it was so awesome that they were flexible enough to travel down to Santa Barbara. They can be a little hard to get ahold of when doing preparations but the food was worth the extra effort.

I had the Carne Asada Crêpe($ 8.00). The flavors were great, hence the four stars, but I did get a few pieces of fat that had to be spit out. I’d definitely try them out again, but probably one of their other menu items.

I love crepes so I might be biased. Just kidding. I’m not biased. It is FANTASTIC! I had their chicken pesto crêpe, which had great texture and flavor; smooth chicken, enough pesto, creamy sauce on the lettuce… It was delicious! I also tried their banana nutella crêpe(because I’m addicted to nutella) and it was out of this world. Love this truck!!!

First time trying crepes today and it was pretty good. The garlic fries I am little bit iffy on because they were overloaded with garlic. Unless you are garlic obsessed, I would not get them. The crepes on the other hand, BOMB. I got the berries crepes and I was surprised at the freshness of the strawberries and raspberries. You know, usually they are mushy and gushy in other crêpe places because they use frozen fruit, etc. But not these, they were just right and the whipped cream was nice and thick. Service was awesome, I got a free drink! Can’t wait to try other flavors.

So I was so excited to get myself a sweet crêpe when I saw the special $ 5 price! As I’m about to order, the girl who work in the truck decides to tell me that that special was from the weekend … Now this is Wednesday! It took you how long to figure it was an old special. Usually from past experiences, if a store has an old sale sign up, they honor it. They she told me today’s special is $ 10… Okay so now that your parked in front of a hospital with no food joints around… Your going to hike up ur price… NOTHANKYOU! Plus I saw someone else’s crêpe and it was the size of a mini pancake!!! No worth it!

My Crêpe was tasty. that being said tho for $ 7.50 I expected more. Very small Crêpe. I had the Turkey and Cheese. The turkey tasted like low quality lunch meat and the cheese was sparse. I would mot re-purchase if I saw the truck again but it wasnt terrible.

Just ate the Chicken Pesto Crêpe and it was delicious. The crêpe wasn’t soggy at all, it was actually nice and crispy and the cheese had melted to it so it was just really good. The fries were eh but still not bad, I’ve had worse.

Went to the weekly @LunchTruckit stop in Long Beach on Wednesday. Tried their maple braised pork crêpe(with Apple Chutney, Toasted Walnuts, Honey-Dijon Sauce, Mixed Greens). It was good, but not awesome. Lots of meat, very tender. The guy said it had a sweet start with a slightly spicy finish, which it did. But a little too sweet for my taste. Will try other items next time(chicken pesto sounded really good). They did have an awesome garlic parmesan fries. Fresh, crisp fries with a fresh garlic(with olive oil maybe?) drizzled over the top and fresh grated Parmesan cheese over that. Yummy!

Crêpe N’ Around was the first truck I tried at The Yum Festival. I was walking around checking out all the trucks when I spotted their sign about the Chicken Pesto Crêpe. It sounded like something that I would like and so I stopped to see what this truck was all about. They have both savory and sweet crepes. For the savory, they had this chicken pesto, maple braised pork, ham and brie, and four cheese. For the sweet, they had s’more, berries and cream, banana nutella and lemon sugar. I was all set to get the chicken pesto crêpe but then I read that the maple braised pork included apple chutney, toasted walnuts, honey-dijon sauce and mixed greens. It was the description that sold me. I wanted to try the apple chutney and the toasted walnuts mix and so I ended up getting the maple braised pork crêpe. The maple braised pork crêpe was ok. It was a bit on the sweet side. It was more sweet than savory. There were plenty of mixed greens that wrapped around the maple braised pork but I was sad that there were hardly any walnuts. The crêpe wrapper itself was thick and not the usual thin wrapper that crepes have. The description of the maple braised pork crêpe sounded great but the crêpe itself in reality was just OK. If I were to try this truck again, I think I’d rather get the chicken pesto crêpe(which I hope would not be as sweet and have a better mix of all their ingredients). I really wanted more toasted walnuts ;).

I don’t think this food is necessarily made for savory stuff, it gets too mushy. Anyway, other than that, I thought the food was awright — the pork was pretty sweet but ok, I say it’s worth a shot.

One of my favorite trucks. I love the braised pulled pork with apple crêpe. I used to love how the juices would always drip down my arm. I liked how the pulled pork was shredded, porky, and had just the right amount of salt to bring out the flavors. I liked that it had a kick to it at the end. The apples added a nice texture and sweetness to it, and the greens added a sense freshness. It is folded nicely and easy to eat. I would actually would crave their pulled pork crêpe and hope that they were somewhere I was willing to drive to. I never even got to try their other crepes.

:o[ More like… Suck n’ Around… First of all, it was the first time I took my mom to one of these truck round ups and she wasn’t even sure the truck was open. The lights were off except for inside. Now let’s get onto the food. the FOOD: Maple Braised Pork Crêpe — This is the first time I thought that I was going to die of sugar overload. This poor crêpe is OVERLYSWEET and wasn’t savory at all. The maple is overwhelming, and I really started to feel sick. My stomach wasn’t happy at all. I’m all for trying out weird flavor combinations, but this didn’t work… at all! Berries & Cream Crêpe — My sister hit it right on the head, when she said that it basically tastes like you’re eating shaved ice. It was literally berries with condensed milk. The lemon zest was what sold this sweet crêpe to me, but sadly, I didn’t taste any lemoniness… :( Garlic Fries — Probably the best part of the entire meal. Oh food truck adventures… sadly, this was a food truck fail. :(

Cashed in on a $ 5 deal for unlimited crepes through my school for 2 hours. Unfortunately service was super slow. I’m not sure whether to attribute this to the fact that freshly made crepes take time to make(moreso than stuffing meat into tacos) or slow service. The employees were friendly and diligent though so maybe it’s just the crêpe business. Nonetheless, that left me at just three crepes tasted: S’mores, Nutella & Banana, and Maple Braised Pork. The crepes are thin and crispy but could be a bit more buttery. The two dessert crepes were good given that it’s chocolate in a crêpe but the S’mores could’ve used some more crunch. A dusting of graham cracker ‘sand’ just doesn’t cut it for me. Finally, the savory crêpe was huge compared to the dessert crepes. It practically looked like a sandwich. Sadly, the pork was dry and had the texture of shredded beef jerky. I ended up not finishing it. Best part of the meal was probably the garlic fries, but you probably don’t want to talk to anyone after eating those, haha.

Tried it. Wasn’t really that blown away. Hard to judge though. Not the best judge of a good crêpe and a bad crêpe. Problem I had was that once I had tried it I didn’t really feel like I would wait in line again for it anywhere else.

Food — 3.7 stars Price — 2 Stars($ 6/small crêpe) Waiting Time — 2 Stars People — 3.8 Stars They gave out free samples of the garlic fries. I wouldn’t recommend getting the garlic fries though, it’s not bad, but not worth to get when you get here. Though we only tried their s’mores crêpe — large fresh marshmallows with chocolate that’s not super sweet all in a thin crêpe. With a side of whipped cream… Mmmm — it was pretty good. Will try their savory crêpe if I get the chance to. They only have about 6 different crêpe flavors — 3 sweet, 3 savory. Nutella+banana Crêpe; Berries Crêpe; S’mores Crêpe. S’mores seems like the logical choice for first time trying. Pretty good with generous amount of marshmallows!

Garlic fries are sooooo good! And they are LOADED with garlic, so definitely not for the faint of heart, or vampires. My order was piping hot and very crispy. It was too bad that I had to share my order. Teehee But this is a crepes truck, not a fries truck so I also ordered the s’mores crêpe. It sounded original and delicious and I was not let down. It was chocolatey and filled with melted gooey marshmallows. All I needed was a campfire on that super chilly evening. I guess I’ll just have to use my imagination and huddle under the heat lamp. Can’t wait to try some of the savory crepes!
