No HD channels on the various tvs? That very disappointing. Most restaurants downstairs have HD and the admirals club doesn’t? Come on guys.

Your average airline lounge! Quiet and nothing fancy; not so good as those Asian airline lounges. Food is very limited, veggies and cheese only.

You get snacks not food. If you want food there’s a Real Food Daily in their terminal. They charge for this the prepackaged food in here. Get your food at RFD. Get your free snacks and beverages here. There apple pie trail mix is tasty. Get a cheese plate and some hummus. You’ll be OK. Free WiFi and a nice place to sit.

Expected more but just below average offerings. Really the only items to eat are a small bag of chips or some trail mix along with some fruit and veggie dips. Their drink selection was small, their bar was expensive — 2 glass of cabernet was $ 26??? There are so many people now and you have to go pick up your own food if you want to order something and pay for it. Oh, and the food isn’t that good either. It’s better to go to a restaurant in one of the common areas.

This is one of those places where it’s nice when it’s crowded, but hellish when there’s no seats and it’s packed. I usually don’t care about selection of food unless I’m really hungry, and when I am, I do tend to find that the food here is a bit lacking. Of course, you can pay for better food but seriously, you’re a lounge, just provide the food and alcohol for free! Now that the connector between TBIT and Terminal 4 is open, AA Plats/Exec Plats can now walk over to the Oneworld Lounge(about a 6 minute walk), and get to experience what a lounge should really be like!

I’ll try not to be overly critical about this lounge — but seriously, it’s a pit of sadness. The staff are surly, the selection of food is laughable(carrot sticks and celery sticks, seriously!?) and you get two coupons for a bottled soda/water or an alcoholic beverage of your choice. This would(and does not) fly anywhere else in the world and it’s beyond my comprehension why it does in the States. Lufthansa, SAS and British Airways successfully manage to have a fully stocked bar(free of charge) with real food on offer in the States, so it’s clearly more of an airline problem rather than a problem related to the States. Either way, rant over. I was absolutely starving when I arrived in the lounge so I had to resort to ordering the worst burger I have ever had the displeasure of paying $ 18(incl tax) for. I ordered the california chipotle burger which was supposed to come with pepper jack cheese, fresh avocado and jalapeños. The cheese was definitely not melted and tasted like crappy kraft cheese, the avocado was definitely not ripe and I counted a single jalapeño in there. The meat itself lacked any seasoning and had a really odd taste. Awful.

The Admiral Club lounges are what makes traveling bearable. A little piece of heaven in the midst of chaos. The main lounge in terminal 4 is large and has additional menu choices. But there is also another — not as well known Admiral Club in the Gate 44 area across from 44c. It is small and intimate and calming. All have free well drinks and domestic draft beer and wine. Ladies — don’t miss the great Red Flower Wanderlust smoothing hand and body lotion in the restrooms.

Based on my reviews — one might notice that I’ve been to quite a few clubs on this long trip and there isn’t much more I can say about this one that is any different then any other one. Nothing sticks out that makes this a super place, but I’m glad it’s there!

This is one of the more updated, larger and spacious American Airlines Admiral’s Club Lounges in the country due to LA being a major hub for travelers. You are greeted by friendly staff at the entrance as well as agents upstairs who can assist with your travel needs. While waiting for your flight, large floor to ceiling glass windows give you a nice view of the planes, runway and some dramatic views when relaxing in the lounge either during sunrise or sunset. Restaurant service is pretty good with basic items on the menu. As for complimentary food items offered, it’s not bad, where in the mornings they offer yogurt, cereal, varieties of poundcake, fruit and cold and hot beverages. One improvement very much needed is throwing out the push button self-service coffee-cappuccino-latte machine which doesn’t make any beverage well. This machine also makes hot chocolate which I recommend you pass on. I tried to order a cappuccino from the waiter service but it wasn’t available. Lots of comfortable chairs, dining and communal table seating and desks are available. Strong free WiFi signal throughout the lounge makes surfing the web or getting work done easy and efficient. Overall, a nice lounge and the best way to wait for your flight.

International airline lounges will always be superior. But I thought this lounge with AA’s recent improved policy of complimentary house /well drinks and beer really upped the value of the domestic lounge. They also served continental breakfast and light snacks throughout the day.

I get treated like a king when I arrive at this lounge. Check in is great and quick, staff is friendly and they are accommodating(and quick) if I need anything. There is an area where cell phones are not allowed, excellent idea. I can relax in peace as I would expect during a layover.

The service was great. The lady that checked us in was very helpful by letting us know what time we needed to be at the shuttle pick up area to the remote terminal. The breakfast selection was good and well stocked. The fresh fruit selections included pineapple, grapefruit, apples and oranges. The bagel with cream cheese and the hot steelcut oatmeal were tasty and filling. Cereal and pastries were available too. As for beverage, there were two types of juice, different types of coffee(from the machine) and limited tea bag selections. Bathroom was very clean.

This is a different kind of lounge to that we are use to back in Oz. At home, no matter which state you are in, when you are in a lounge, everything from snacks, to meals, to soft drinks, ice cream, coffee and more are free. Here? Well there are free soft drinks and a few snack foods such as pretzels, olives, cherry tomatoes, celery, a couple of soups, coffee and water. We have an 8 hour layover and I was starving. I asked about making changes to menu items because of food allergies, but was told it was all pre made. The bartender suggested I order ‘from the grill’ as that is made fresh and items can be omitted. So I did. It was about $ 17 for a burger and bag of crisps.(Chips) The burger was fine. There is a business sector with a few computers, a quite zone where no mobile(cell) conversations are to be had, a bar area and TV lounge. It’s ok but I would’ve loved to be in the Qantas lounge in the other terminal.

Nice place, I am a AMEX member so anytime there is a centurion club is good there. However LAX doesn’t have one yet and being a active duty US Military member you get in por gratis(for free)). It’s big nice and they have showers as well, for the AMEX member familiar with the SF lounge. Prices for food and drinks don’t appear to be too bad, but aren’t free either. I’d recommend passing by if your in the area.

Worst Admiral’s club I’ve been to. Staff doing a poor job of cleaning up areas, VERY poor quantity of comfortable seats with AC access(charge devices), had to wait in line for a stall in restroom. Noisy people. NOTHAPPY!

Got a business class tickets to Vancouver, Canada. The staff at the check in counter was unpleasant and confusing with amount of lines. Get to my gate #44 which is in separate small terminal, to get there requires shuttle ride. After getting to the gate tried get to the Admirals Club, to spend my 40 minutes till the boarding. Got refused entry to the Club. Excuse was that the entry only for Business Class that flying to Mexico, Caribbean or Europe. My ticket was to Canada! So what the point paying more for Busses?!? I felt no difference if was buying Economy. Staff at the Club had no logical explanation why Business Class passengers to Canada can’t get into the lounge !!!

Great views and comfortable chairs. Really good place to kill some extra time before your flight. The snacks have gotten better.

One of my favorite airport lounges — the view is amazing, great service, wide complimentary food selection, spacious… need I say more! I really can’t think of any complaints. The showers are amazing, like a spa. They also have separate spaces for quiet work, TV, listening to music(with Bose headphones), and just general stuff.

The worst Admiral’s Club service-wise I’ve been to. Last time I was here, I had to wait 30 minutes for a waiter to take notice of me and take an order. This time, based on my previous experience, I’ve ordered food at the bar. I was told I’ll get it at my table in 10 minutes. It has been over an hour now. I guess I’ll be going to my gate now hungry, and just hope food on the plane will be at least decent.

[Reposting the text below now that there is a correct listing for the Admirals Club at LAX, as opposed to the Flagship Lounge.] The Admirals Club at LAX is pretty standard as far as U.S. domestic airline lounges are concerned, and it doesn’t even hold a candle to anything the international airlines can come up with. They’ve gradually taken away some amenities over the years, with the only things complimentary these days being water, coffee, and light snacks like trail mix. There is a cash bar with limited menu, though, and service is generally friendly and efficient, as can be the case at the concessions downstairs in the terminal itself. What really makes this lounge stand out are plenty of cozy, modern leather chairs, and the architecturally gorgeous, sun-filled, atrium-like setting that provides panoramic views of all the planes coming in and out of the terminal, and of the runways in the distance. No matter how crowded it gets in here, the expansive view does wonders in making things feel more peaceful and less crowded. Note that the Admirals Club is different from the Flagship lounge. The Admirals Club is for paying club members as well as international business class passengers, while the Flagship lounge is for international first class passengers as well as AA Executive Platinum members.

«Overall very clean and large area… but…» Lots of drinks and snacks, even place for quite time. AC is really strong and I see some people using blanket. I also went to the front desk ask for a blanket. The manager reminded me first time that the blanket is a loaner, make sure to bring it back. The other lady gave me a blanket, the same manager told me right«again» that the blanket is a loaner, make sure I bring it back after using so other people can use it. I am not easily insulted or intimidated but WOW, why telling me twice? Of course I know the blanket is a loaner. Is she serious? All service staff here also need to learn how to smile. Overall the place has lots of area to rest.

I moved my alliance from United to American and now I am rethinking. As a bicoastal person, I buy first class tickets twice a month from East to West Coast. These tickets cost $ 400-$ 1,500 a pop. From DCA to LAX it’s a crap shoot to see if you get the«new» seat or the old. This past month I got the new seat 3 times and the old once. The new seat twice, the video did not work and buffered through the whole movie. The third time with the new seat, would not recline. The order your menu in advance on-line has been a terrible disappointment, the steak and lobster mac and cheese sounded great on paper but was inedible on the plate. Granted they have growing pains with the merger but I have never paid so much for so little. I must say however the American lounge is superior to most domestic airlines, they just need to copy that experience at 36,000 feet.

This admirals club is slightly larger than many with an even nicer first class lounge and they have the bonus of offering soy milk with your coffee unlike some other locations(I’m looking at you JFK). They also have a nice water station with regular and two spa-like offerings(lemon and cucumber/melon today) which is a nice touch. They always have the usual apples and crudités but they could step it up compared to some of the other lounges I frequent. Food for purchase lacks desperately if you’re vegan. Note to this lounge: YOUAREINLOSANGELES! KNOWYOURCROWD! There’s a quiet(no cell zone) area with massage chairs on that side of the lounge and that’s also where the bathrooms are, which is annoying if you’re on the normal person side because it’s a bit of a walk(and as Missing Persons so immortalized back in 1982 «Nobody walks in L.A.»). The staff is always helpful and courteous but the whole lounge could use an update in every sense. Still, this lounge is better than no lounge and they get points for the soy milk. I’ll keep showing up and look forward to the improvements.

Great for an Admirals Club. Just okay compared to other lounges. There is a lot of space here; this club is on top of the terminal concourse itself and runs much of its length. Wi-Fi is fast, and there’s a shower. Marginally okay food options, fresh crudité, a decent spread of sweets. Bonus points, though, for premium drink vouchers for international passengers traveling in business or first class on oneworld carriers. Compared to Delta lounges, many of which have been renovated recently, and excellent Centurion lounges, I’ve found the Admirals Clubs to be subpar. Don’t hesitate to stop by here, though, if you’re transiting through from an international flight or have a long layover.

Been here many times but this was the first time I actually ordered food! Yummy sandwich and sushi roll! Perfect before a medium length domestic flight that doesn’t have meals!

The American Airlines Admirals Club at LAX is located airside(after security) in terminal 4 near gate 40. It’s a co-op lounge shared with the Qantas Club. Open to premium cabin passengers on international flights, first class passengers on three-cabin JFK flights, Admirals Club card holders, oneworld elite members(sapphire and emerald) traveling on international itineraries and those wishing to pay the $ 50 entrance fee, the Admirals Club at LAX is one of the better domestic lounges you will find belonging to any of the legacy carriers. You do not need to fly American Airlines to use this lounge. Lounge amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, PCs with internet access, complimentary snacks and house drinks, showers, an enclosed children’s room and two conference rooms. The lounge is open daily from 4:00AM to 1:00AM. On this trip, I was flying first class on American Airlines’ A321T service to JFK. That granted me access to both the Admirals Club at LAX and the Flagship First Class Lounge located within the Admirals Club. Walking to the lounge from security, I followed the signs to the Admirals Club. I presented my boarding pass to the front desk agent, was granted entry and given a key card for the Flagship Lounge. The lounge is a large space with the main seating/dining area located along the windows facing the ramp and runway. Along the center of the main seating area is the staffed bar where you can order complimentary non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks such as Trinity Oaks wines, Coors beers and house spirits. Premium drinks and hot food can be purchased for a fee. Next to the bar area are two food stations with a small selection of baked goods, yogurts, instant oatmeal, juices and coffee during the morning hours. To the left of the main seating area, there are two open TV rooms with lounge chairs and a set of computer stations overlooking the boarding gates. The computer stations are not very spacious or private but are they great for some casual work if you want to be distracted by the awesome views of the TBIT heavies parked across the way. The lounge is well decorated and there’s plenty of seating to go around. The space is bright and airy with lots of natural light and great plane spotting. In addition to the lounge chairs, there are Bose listening stations scattered throughout the lounge where you can use the house-provided Bose headphones and listen to pre-set radio stations. Great idea but I didn’t see a single person using them. Traveling with kids? There’s an enclosed kid’s playroom with toys and video games to keep them entertained and not disturb your fellow travelers. And just when you thought you’ve seen the whole lounge, you round the corner to the right side and there’s a whole new separate seating area. Keep going down the hall, past the bathrooms and shower suites, and you’ll reach another enclosed seating area(much quieter) and business center with proper cubicles, printers, fax and copier. The lounge was kept clean and there were employees constantly cleaning, busing dishes and refilling the food stations. There’s a customer care counter located on the second floor to help passengers with any concerns and an unsecured luggage storage room to set your stuff down. As you can see, no one used it and most people just kept their carry-on bags by their side. Overall, the Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge is pretty nice for a domestic US lounge and is one of the better ones that I have visited. The main lounge is huge and there’s plenty of seating for everyone and plenty of space to spread out if you need to get some work done. Now, this was my first time visiting the lounge but I do hear it gets pretty crowded during the afternoon hours. But at 9:00 on a Wednesday, it wasn’t crowded at all. If you like my reviews, feel free to check out my travel blog. The link can be found in my profile. Thanks!

Always packed, so very worn. The chair’s, if you can find one open, springs are broken and accordingly not the most comfortable. Also, not nearly enough electrical outlets. Definitely in need of a facelift… um, this is L. A…shouldn’t be too difficult to get done(I joke, kind of… lol…love L.A.). Rarely a seat available at the bar. The service is consistently blah. Food/snack stand is never fully stocked, and what is left is a mess. At least this Club offers comp soups now; however, had to wait 30 minutes last time for the vessels to be refilled. Borderline 2 stars, but not the most dismall ACs I’ve been to. At least the massive wall of glass affords a nice view to watch planes takeoff. Lastly, there is a closed-in kiddy play zone… great for people who have children and those of us that do not. ;) Happy travels! [108 in 2015]

They now have soup! A bit noisier Admirals Club than most non-international airports, but the service was decent if not exceptional, all was mostly clean and the food was decent.

Dear Admirals Club, When a passenger is traveling on a $ 7K business class international ticket they are granted access to your club. Please train your staff. I wasn’t treated properly when I checked in and was very disappointed with the attitude of the staff. You are better than that, get it together. Signed, Exhausted traveler

There’s nothing more that I hate than flying on a domestic airline. Only saving grace is that my OW status allows me and a guest to get into the AA admirals lounge when flying domestic. Service is decent but what sucks is that they give you 1 drink voucher per guest… yes 1 drink voucher. Food consists primarily of cookies, fruit, maybe a danish in the mornings along with coffee/tea. Nothing to brag about but it does beat sitting in front of the departure gate. Wifi is slow so don’t bother to connect if you can tether off your wireless provider. Shower facilities are clean.
