This is a little hole in the wall restsurant that I stumbled by accident, and I am so glad that I did. Amazing, amazing food. Will definitely eat here again when I’m in the area.

Chicken Korma was delicious. I told the waiter up front that I have an allergy to cilantro and then we ordered garlic non-but we didn’t know that it came with cilantro on it and the waiter didn’t say anything… Also the waiter made a face when we asked for mild which was pretty rude

I’d like to take this opportunity to give Kamal a thumbs up. They have great Indian food… My boyfriend and I went there for the fist time 2 weeks ago and we can’t keep talking about it. Anil and the staff were super awesome! Thank you for excellent service and for the complementary deserts it was super delicious… We can’t wait to go back real soon.

Oh my, I love Kamal Palace! Indian food is a great choice for a vegetarian, and the lunch buffet here always has great choices. My favorite is the mushroom Masala from the menu, and sometimes it’s on the lunch buffet. The menu is large and delicious. My meat-loving friends enjoy the chicken tikka masala and the Tandoori Chicken. Vegetable samosas and veggie pakoras are crispy and fine. You can order the food from mild to spicy, but be careful with the spicy! Great sides like raita, chutney, tamarind sauce. There are many varieties of naan(flatbread) and all are soft, with excellent flavor and texture. The atmosphere is luxurious. Well-decorated, with heavy curtains pulled back and Indian art and artifacts on the walls. Tables with table cloths and cloth napkins. There are lots of windows, with a view of the canal. The restaurant is tucked at the back of Marina Pacifica, and a little hard to find, but definitely worth searching out. There’s a nice patio overlooking the canal, but I prefer to be inside. Even the chai(hot spiced tea) is the best I’ve had anywhere.

I went to Namaste Flavors twice — once for weekday lunch buffet and once for weekend lunch buffet. There is a significant price difference. The weekend buffet was much expensive than the weekday buffet. The food quality is good.. 3 stars are for the food quality. Lot of options for vegetarian also. Chicken 65/dry fry is my favorite in this restaurant. They also have naans/breads

This is by far my favorite Indian place. My girl friends fav too and we work in little India. We have tried everything around. We always come back to kamal. They set the standard for us. I highly recommend the lamb tikka masala and the aloo gobi. I like to ask for tamarind and mix it in with their mango chutney too. So amazing. Their shrimp tandoori is huge and delicious my 10 year old was in shrimp heaven when he ordered it. This place is a little further for us but we make our way out now and then cause it’s worth it. Best realization ever when we found out we could have post mates pick up and deliver our order from here. Gonna be ordering delivery all the time now

Veggies Pakoras and Samosa were delicious. Lamb curry, Veggie Korma, and Tandoori Chicken were SO good. Make sure you try the Chai too. I’m a huge critic of Indian food as I used to work at an Indian restaurant in college. And this place is very authentic.

Pretty good selection with fish Masala as well on their Sunday buffet Service is good Food is a little. toned down on the spices. Good for my hubby and kids but not quite authentic . Will. go back though as it may be the only place I can drag eat Indian food with me and for them to have something in the buffet to enjoy. And kid’s prices was less than $ 3 each for the buffet.

A treat for your mouth and your wallet, the lunch buffet never disappoints. Not sure you like Indian food? Again, the buffet will help you find something(if not everything) to like. Sit on the patio for the lovely breeze and a view of the boats. The owner is friendly and inviting, the food is amazing(we judge all other Indian food by Kamal Palace and none of them compare) and it’s lovely(and spicier) at dinner time for a bite before hitting a movie. Come here, try everything(especially the mint chutney and sweet naan), your mouth will thank you.

I came here with my family for the lunch buffet which had a ton of different options. Super good food. The only complaints I had was that some of the food looked like it had been sitting out for too long, i.e. the cucumbers were kind of tough and leathery-ish. Parking is really accessible and easy here. No worries about that! Loved the chicken tikka masala, the daal, the saag. No paneer at the buffet though! I think for buffets I actually prefer the India Restaurant because their naan is fluffier and crisper and it looks a little cleaner. The food was good here though, and I think I’d return again! :)

Ok, I can only speak for the quality of food as I mainly get this delivered. I tried the buffet once, it was ok but nothing like the full, great menu you get when delivered. A ton of choices for vegetarians and vegans! The vegetable samosa and vegetable pakoras are incredibly tasty and I could probably survive eating only these two things for at least 1 straight year without EVER getting bored of them! DELISH!!! The Aloo Matar is sooooo good… but NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING beats the Veg Butter Masala!!! And here is how you MUST have it: Get it medium-hot…with one full tub of white rice… and have it with the Sweet Naan and remember me in your prayers forever cos I just made your life SO much better!!! P. S. Several times, I thought about going to the actual restaurant, which is nicely located on the Marina… but I know I would stuff myself and the idea of rolling out of there in agony cos I ate too much throws me a little off… It’s a lot«safer» to have my couch right next to me for the inevitable indian food-coma…you have been warned…

OMG! I love Indian food and this place is a hidden gem! I grew up in the area and I used to eat at Natraj or Himalayan, but when it comes to Chicken Tikka Masala and seafood selections, this place wins! Not many Indian restaurants have a large seafood menu, but Kamal does! My favorite dish right now is Fish 65. Seriously, it is spicy, fried, curry, fish crack!!! They also have lots of great choices for people like me who can’t do dairy, but want the joy of Indian food! I also really like the location. It is hidden underneath the Pier 1, behind the theater at the Marina Pacifica. On a nice sunny day I like to sit on the patio and munch on my papadums and Fish 65 while I look out over the Marina. I like to park at the end of the undergound parking(entrance by Rack), and then walk the maze past the BN and the theater.

I was slightly disappointed with the amount of choices going into the buffet. They claim 30 items or more, but that’s if you’re counting salad dressing, salt, bread. The waiters are also a little aloof but not rude. The good thing is that the food that they do have is really good and it’s at a reasonable price. Their garlic naan is good, their lamb stew is great, and so is their saffron rice.

I love their lunch buffet. Its every day from 11– 2:30pm at $ 9.99. They have a lot of varieties of curry dishes during the buffet hours. My favorite is the lamb curry which I believe is only provided on the weekend. Another thing that they have is endless fresh nan bread. I always request for garlic nan as they sit me down. Lastly, services is always great. The restaurant atmosphere is always friendly and peaceful. To add on, their service are fast and efficient. For example your’re water glass will never be empty. I go there so much now that the owner and staff knows me by face now.

The food here is SOGOOD! The server was kind of grumpy but it definitely wouldn’t keep me from coming back. I’ve been to buffets with larger selections, but the variety at this place was more than enough for me. There were 20 or so different main selections plus a couple desserts, some chutneys, and some fruits and veggies, and naan. Everything that I had was delicious. The chicken curry was especially bomb. My only regret is that I didn’t come hungrier so I could eat more. The location is a little hard to get to, but just find pier one imports, go down the stairs on the right, go around to the back of the building where you can see the water and then walk along the hall and you’ll see a sign that says«entrance» and there you have it. :) The inside of the restaurant is nice, and it’s waterside so you have a nice view of the marina. They also have an outdoor area that’s probably really nice when it’s warm. I wish I could give 4.5 stars because this place is really great, the service could just use a tune-up! Overall, I’d definitely recommend. I’ll be back!

Came here for the lunch buffet with a few colleagues and it was great! We arrived right around 1:45 and it wasn’t crowded at all. Many of the people coming and going seemed to be regulars, said hi and walked to their usual table. Total price per person was $ 13 after tax and tip and for the variety of food they had was definitely worth it. Given the buffet was in a small section of the restaurant and is not grand by any means but still for that price you can’t beat it.

Good Food: Both Indian and Nepalese. Vegetarian like myself have many choices, especially Vegetarian Momo(Dumpling), typical Nepali food and many other good items. Big Parking Space, beautiful waterfront view. Great Hospitality. Reasonable Price for Lunch Buffet as well as Dinner. They have good price for Catering and the whole staffs are very friendly and Hospitable. We have been going there for almost 17 Years and love this place. Visit this restaurant in Long Beach with Family and Friends and you will go back again and again. 5STAR.

Lunch buffet after a dragon boat practice is a good thing. Delicious Indian lunch buffet, for $ 13 after tax and tip, is a great thing. I love Indian food, and for an AYCE buffet, this is pretty good. They had channa masala(chickpeas in a tomato jalapeño sauce, which most indian buffets don’t serve), tandoori chicken(oven-roasted chicken), saag(spinach), kheer(rice pudding with rose water, my absolute favorite), and much more. It’s two solid buffet trays, one with more fruits and desserts, one with more staples. They bring naan to the table and refill it often. They’re also very great about bussing tables and refilling the waters.

I’ll start with location. Now it’s at a great location, however the location of the entrance is terrible. It’s actually super confusing to find if you first come to this place. I don’t even think there were signs to guide you to the entrance. It’s down some stairs and then you turn left somewhere. Before the entrance you see the kitchen and it was wide open. I didn’t really like that. The buffet didn’t have a lot of choices compared to he Ashoka in Cerritos. It’s the same price also. So I’m comparing it to that because that’s the one I’ve been to before this place. The food is limited and the buffet is till 3 compared to the other it ends at 4. The chicken Masala was pretty good but sweeter than what I like. They didn’t have masala paneer. They had saag but not saag paneer. Which bummed me out because that’s my favorite. Their desserts are limited to carrot pudding, rice pudding and gulab. Ashoka had fruits and those desserts and they were well stocked. When I arrived they barely had rice pudding. One good part was their gulab and rice pudding. I liked those and I always love the nan. The service wasn’t great. They did their job, but they just weren’t friendly or welcoming. In the end my stomachs didn’t handle their food well and I leave disappointed. Luckily I didn’t have to pay because a friend did.

My girlfriend and I went here cause we want to try another place that serves Indian buffet. The place looks nice and seems to have a little fancy feel to it. Their lunch buffet have a wide variety of dish compare to other places. I’m here mostly for their unlimited samosa with tamarin sauce, which is fabulous, but what surprised me the most was that they serve lamb curry as part of the buffet. That is so cool cause lamb meats are expensive and for $ 9.95 buffet, you got your money’s worth. I like their chicken tikka masala and tandoori chicken cause everybody knows that’s their specialty. And for dessert, yogurt rice pudding is refreshing after those chili base dishes. The only thing that hinders me for giving it a 5 star is that their naan bread taste like a regular bread from Ralph’s; so soft and not crispy at all. My girlfriend doesn’t like their naan, but overall we are satisfied and we’ll comeback for more :)

I won’t be back. I went for the lunch buffet. The place was kinda hard to find being inside a maze of vacant shops at this semi-outdoor mall, but that doesn’t factor into my rating. I was greeted by a dour-faced man about 55 or so from his appearance. After he showed me to a table I asked if they have soda in fountains or cans. He looked utterly lost. After I rephrased it several different ways he finally understood and answered, but by that time I had answered my own question by looking around at the tables that had not yet been cleared.(Fountain) He did not offer any introduction or directions — not even, «Grab a plate!» — He just said ok to my soda order and walked away. I’ve been to quite a few Indian restaurants, so I didn’t need any additional directions, but this waiter had no idea, and should have at least asked. I was unimpressed with the service, but I was even less impressed with the food. Even good tandoori is often too dry for my taste, and this looked heat-lamped into astronaut food, so I stuck with three of the sauced dishes. I will often order saag w/o chicken or cheese(paneer), and that’s a good thing because otherwise I’d have been terribly disappointed with this one. The second dish had veggies in it that looked like refugees from cup-o-noodles, including undercooked carrot chips. I understand it is common to cook meat on the bone in dishes, but the third(ostensibly lamb) had so much bone that I got to practice my dissection skills trying to find it, but bread(naan) the texture of gristle helped fill in the gaps. Bottom line? Poor-quality food, creepy waiters, and you need a tour guide to help you find it … no wonder the price was so low.

This place is such a gem! There’s a sign that you can see from PCH and the shopping center, but locating the place might be tricky. You can walk down the stairs between Pier 1 Imports & Sports Authority and go behind the building to find the place. I’ve been here twice and both have been great experiences! The servers are prompt and they constantly check to make sure your waters are filled. Both visits were parties of 6+ and we usually just shared curry. Some great selections are the chicken tikka masala and lamb! Don’t forget to order naan!

I haven’t been here in a while, but I always enjoyed their food. The first time I ate here, I was on a date. I had never eaten Indian food so my date explained what he thought I would like. He was right. I am a fan of yellow curry so I used to order the chicken vindaloo. I can pick out and eat the potatoes all day. Now I enjoy the garlic shrimp or tandoori jumbo sizzling shrimp. I also like the veggie fritters. It’s no surprise that I love eating the crispy bread so I am a bread eater. It is filling so limit it before getting your entrée. This place is closed between lunch and dinner hours on most days. You may want to check their hours before going. If on a date, don’t forget to take a walk along the back of the marina. It’s tranquil. Then catch a movie at the AMC theatre or enjoy a Starbuck’s while out.

First time here, haven’t really had Indian food too much in my life but I really enjoyed the food. It’s a odyssey to go from the parking lot to this place. The interior is very nice, incredibly spacious. Good for a date. We ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Both were very exceptional. The chicken was moist and it was very flavorful, I didn’t grow tired of the taste even if that was the only thing we ordered. The garlic naan was super bomb, it was made to order, baked fresh. Probably the best I ever had. The tikka masala also comes with rice, but it was easy to get tired of. The waiters were attentive, my water got awkwardly refilled like 5 times within 20 minutes even when I didn’t drink too much, but hey at least someone is filling it up. Overall the food was pretty good, I definitely recommend getting two garlic naan’s next time. You can’t ever go wrong with the tikka masala either and for someone who doesn’t usually like Indian food, I highly recommend this on the list.

Little hidden Indian gem. This restaurant is actually right next to Forbidden City and not by the movie theater as I had initially thought. This restaurant sits right on the dock at the Marina. It seems like a family owned business and all the staff are friendly and attentive. FOOD: Chicken Tiki Masala — This is my go to. Creamy and full of flavor. I’ve tried both the mild and medium and would suggest the medium bc its not too spicy but gives it a little extra kick. Lamb Malai — Friend decided to try this and we both loved it! The sauce is a bit thicker compared to the masala but it was really tasty with the lamb. The dishes come with endless rice and crispy bread. Naan isn’t included, but I would definitely suggest the Garlic Naan! I’ve heard good things about their lunch buffet, so will have to check it out!

Hidden gem. In need of a unique dinner spot and close to the theaters… ta daaa! Ambiance Parking: *The plaza is pretty big so you shouldn’t have any issues with the parking. Seating: *The place is pretty spacious as the place can space 80 people inside/outside or groups/couples. Feels: * Quite of a charming place. It’s nice that it’s by a lake/river to just stroll by after dinner and enjoy the calm action of the water. The place is pretty dimmed and the staff is pretty professional. Though it seemed formal, I’m glad it was casual attire. Food: Complimentary Naan The garlic naan was crispy and delicious delicious with the self serve spices. Choices of sweet or spicy dips. Shrimp Biryani(Recommend) A delicious seafood dish served hot. Glad it wasn’t too spicy and it was fulfilling for two. The extra sauce was good to compliment the excess rice that was given. Customer Service: Attentive and polite. Our food took a while to be served but nothing problematic. Overall: 4 stars. Definitely deserves more than 3 stars. My experience was pleasant from the food to the service. I can see myself coming here for Indian food and here for lunch taking an advantage of their cheap lunch buffet deal! TL;DR Tips: * Great place for a date night. * Though the sign is on the top floor, the place is actually located in the bottom floor.
