Elites UYE Great night of celebrations

Special shouts to MAILA H. my sissy from another missy for putting together this epic and memorable night for my birthday! Her party planning skills are off the chain. I feel extremely blessed and fortunate to have such a sweet and godly human being in my life. Last, but not least, shouts to ALL MY FELLOW UnilocalERS for sharing that moment in time with me; for taking the time to travel/​/​commute/​/​be with me for my birthday celebration! «You coulda been anywhere in the world, but you’re here with me» — Jay Z. I was beyond ecstatic to be greeted by Joseph A. and Caroline V. because I didn’t think they were coming. Boy was I surprised! I truly appreciate each and every one of you. You da shit. Forreal.
This venue was able to accommodate 50+ Unilocal heads! Open air patio section which was spacious and overlooking Seal Beach Marina, was closed off exclusively for us. Talk about that special Unilocal treatment! When I arrived, I suddenly realized how many heads were there. My heart started to flutter with anxiety and was overwhelmed by the turnout thus regressing me into my corner. This dramatically changed when I was given my first sake shot of the night by Van D. Thanks, girl! John K. was next up hitting Maila and I with a shot of my drink of choice: Hennessey. Sure got that liquid courage to break out of my shell to mingle and enjoy with friends. Everyone had a blast over good food and great drinks. Such an awesome combo that never fails to bring people together! Who else was surprised and impressed with that raffle for tickets to a musical?! I didn’t win but I sure thought that was an excellent incentive for us to enjoy.
It was really great to see everyone, new and familiar faces alike. Hugs all around for Clees, Joe P, Ben, Huy, Dana, Kevin, Rudy, Q (to the face), Melanie (thanks for writing my name on my cake and making sure to spell it correctly!), and air *high fives* to Charisse and Kenny. Clees text me earlier that day asking me if I wanted to be 18 or 21 for the night. The most logic answer was 21… SO I CAN DRAAAANK! He provided us with yummy cake I didn’t hesitate to eat in the corner. Okayyyy, I practically inhaled it. I LOVE CAKE. Stop it, Raymond R. *smirks*
Maila’s magic is truly something special. So is Mickey Mouse’ magic. He got a bit hungry so I fed him some cheese… EWWWWW! Anything she does turns into something spectacular. All is good and happy that it illuminates through everyone’s personalities and smiles. Such great vibes that night I’m still cheesin’ up to now. Thanks again for making that night memorable, everyone! Till the next UYE!

Once again, Maila has outdone herself. She organized this great, massive, fun UYE for Carolyn’s birthday. Mai walks around making sure everyone is having a great time and eating. My only concern is that I never see her eat! I hope she enjoys herself; I want her to be a little more selfish instead of taking care of everyone else. She’s the best! Thank you Maila.

My partner in crime Olin C was missing in action. Usually Olin, Huy, and myself order together and split the bill so that we can sample different items. It totally slipped my mind, and I ordered my own chirashi ($ 22). Everyone laughed that it was a risk, being that Forbidden City is a Chinese fusion restaurant. The chirashi was average. It wasn’t terrible. The salmon was the best of the fish, which also included tuna and yellowtail. The bed of sushi rice was actually better than expected. The key to good sushi and chirashi is the rice. In retrospect, I should’ve ordered with Huy, Chris, and Joe. They tried a bunch of different items together.
Thanks to new Unilocal pal Charisse for letting me try her chicken. Thanks Chris for letting me have your sushi roll. Thanks to everyone who attended (far too many to name individually). I’m glad I finally got to meet Sofia V, as we were both at Fire and Ice but did not get a chance to meet. Shout out to Tim C for his advice on Tastemade and helping me do the intro clip.
I was glad to be able to stay later than usual. There were about ten of us chilling at the end when most had already left. We had some great conversation that carried over into the parking lot. Good times.
Thanks Forbidden City for hosting our large group of crazy Unilocalers. We had the entire patio room to ourselves; there must’ve been at least 45 of us. The staff was pretty good at accommodating all of our requests.
Happy birthday Carolyn! Thanks again to the social butterfly, Maila! I can’t wait to see old faces and meet new friends at the next one!

A birthday, Mickey Mouse, food, drinks and to make it an official Unofficial Unilocal Event, there was even a drawing for show tickets!
Carolyn is lucky as heck to have a friend like Maila who can plan and throw such bomb parties with 40+ Unilocalers in the house, folks reppin’ from the Eastside, Westside, the IE and OC. Come on San Diego, where you at?
Forbidden City hooked it up giving us our own private room, with heavy, throne like chairs and Terra Cotta Warriors guarding us from harm. There were a lot of us, but the servers were on point, always checking to see if we needed more food, drinks or water. We also had a great view of the marina from our spot.
I love these UYE hang outs because everyone gets to talk to everyone and get to know each other. Every time I come I meet some new cool Unilocal peeps, or I meet someone that’s been on my friends list for years that I have never met in person before.
In 2016, we need to have a UYE 100 Challenge! Anything is possible. In the words of Maila H., «You plan it!»

Thanks to all the SUPERSTARS that made it out to last nights UYE; Rudy, Carolyn, Chris, Michael, Huy, Cleese, Joe P, Van, Howie, Ben, John, Charisse, Mary Ann, Brandon, Caroline, Quester, Efti, Joseph A, Kevin, Brian, Greg T, Sofia, Dana, Melanie, Raymond, Charles, John, Kenny, Mike, Matt, Susanne, Christine, Gabby, Chris, Tim, Carrie, Eddie, Sue, Tushan and Roxy. I’m just the party planner but you’re all the real reason why these UYE parties are so EPIC!
It was a night of celebrations including my sister from another Mister’s Birthday, Carolyn C! Even the Ghetto fabulous Mickey Mouse made a guest appearance dropping it low with the Birthday girl who seemed to enjoy Mickey loving her Milkshake.
Forbidden City was ours for the night, taking over half the venue with our own private area and shutting this place down. We all celebrated as if it was a weekend, without a care in the world.
As always, great to see all the familiar faces, a night like this could never be the same without my mains and happy beyond words to finally get to see some new faces.
As Huy refers to me as the «Energizer Bunny «I found myself to be all over the place. Whether it was taking sake shot after shot with Ben, Cleese, Joe P. and Huy, photo selfies with Melanie, Dana and Sofia, getting chocolate wasted with John K, grabbing Brandon C. to jump in every Kodak moment with me, giving first aid to Greg T after a goat bite or just mingling with everyone there, it was all good times.
To the Unilocaler who tried to put a damper on the nights fesitivies with your dramatic antics and acting like a fool, I say to you, DUECES. I hope you enjoyed your last invitation.
To the Unilocalers who made this a memorable and unforgettable night, I Thank you. A special Thanks to Van for the balloons and Cleese for the Burfday cake. I appreciate all of you! These celebrations just keep getting better and better. Hope to see y’all at the next one!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROLYN C.
Forbidden City was the perfect venue to celebrate last nights UYE/​Carolyn C. Birthday! Thanks to management for allowing us Unilocalers to celebrate in our own private patio section, closing it off to the public. With almost 50 Unilocalers, there was plenty of room to move around, socialize and have a good time.
A fusion restaurant that served Chinese and Fusion, everyone ordered a variety of different items from Walnut Shrimp, Mixed Low Mein, Spicy Tuna Salad, Rainbow Rolls to Sashimi. There was even a wine bar setup in addition to there large selection of drinks.
Service was great and management team was exceptional.
It was a festive night and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. To date, this is one of the best UYES that I’ve attended.
