Had lunch here. Our server was super nice. Food came out in a timely manner. Arcade games kept our kiddos busy until then. The only thing that was weird was that my sis & I were the only women there. The rest of the customers were men. Lol.

One of our favorite pizza spots in Long Beach! Don’t come here with high expectations of a gourmet slice — it’s just not that type of place and doesn’t pretend to be. The environment is fun and relaxed. The pizza is cheap and the beer is large. The staff is all friendly and it’s a place where everyone seems to know each other. My favorite go-to dish is to order a side of their meatballs. They are so inexpensive — like $ 1.00 — but they’re so moist and delicious. They make insane lasagna, massive sandwiches, and tasty wings. Again — this is not a fancy place. You’ll be sitting on a bench, probably next to a soccer team that just finished practice. But when all you need is pizza, beer, and a big TV — it’s perfect.

Pizza was not good. Crust was hard and seemed like pre made frozen crap. Very little cheese and sauce making for a dry flavorless pizza. Won’t be ordering from them again.

Don’t ever call this place for delivery all they do is pick up and hang up the phone or just put you on hold forever!!! I can’t believe that can’t just tell me how long it is for a damn pizza!!! I’ll just call me & ed’s they are a far superior pizza anyways!

This is my favorite pizza place!!! The pizza is fresh, tastes homemade, has the right amount of thickness(not too doughy and not too thin), and the sauce has the right balance of sweet and sour. The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside. However, the atmosphere is nice inside with lots of picnic tables and a lot of tv’s with sports playing in the background.

We have enjoyed this place for years, great supporter of my kids elementary school years ago. Order two large pizzas tonight — horrible, don’t know what happened. Dough was stale tasting, looked like it was pre-made then frozen. It’s criminal this place has lowered its standards so badly. Maybe thats why it has only a few regulars left. Wont go back unless they bring back A standards.

The best thing about this place is the huge TV. The food is marginal at best, think pizza from elementary school lunch. Even my ice tea tasted strange. The garlic bread was the worst, too much time in the oven and it was tasteless. The italian salad dressing was decent but Im sure they didnt make that.

After a few visits, I felt like a regular. Twice a month I treat myself to a small veggie pizza and a schooner. Good place to go, indulge and just chillax.

Laid back, bench style pizza place. The lasagna is a favorite of mine as well as the sub sandwiches. The bread is always very fresh. The beer is cold, and there is a decent selection. Good place to bring the kids or a group to relax and feast.

I have been coming here since the 80’s. Some of the framed CSULB jerseys were donated by my friends. The big tables,(good for large groups), large screen TV atmosphere, a jukebox, and cold beer is what you come for. The sandwiches and other food on the menu are good. Unfortunately, they use industrial pre-made pizza dough that tastes like cardboard. The really embarrassing bad news is that they are within a mile of six other pizza joints,(even the Marri’s and Dominos across the two streets have better textured and tasting crusts), that serve better dough for their pies. Deli News, Ecco’s, Straw Hat, and PizzaMania are nearby but do not have the atmosphere.

So unfortunately this was not what I was expecting. I should have done my research before heading to eat here. First parking was not good, I literally could not find any parking in the lot. Next, it seemed like a family place, but EVERYONE was drinking and being loud I couldn’t even talk to my friends without having to yell. The pizza sucked, it tasted like it was frozen, I was really disappointed. I also tried their spaghetti which was over cooked and the meat sauce was not good. The garlic bread tasted like it came from the frozen aisle section at the super market. I’m never going here again!

I haven’t even gotten my food and I’m giving this place 5 stars. $ 6.50 for a schooner of IPA? Me and my roommate will be back for sure…

I’ve been to this place about 3 times with a good friend that recomended it and needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed. Atmosphere is decent. People drinkin, eating and watching whatever game is on. Place is decent as well. Sport everywhere, wooden benches, arcade machines, jukebox and a few tv’s so you dont miss a play. Good Beer on tap. Pizza is awesome, crunchy and tasty. I have to say my fav. Item on the menu thus far is The Godfather Sub. Huge and Loaded with everyrhing! It’s one of those Sandwiches that leaves you full and makes you wanna take one home. The owners are really cool and pay attention to their costumers. A little drive(at least for me) but Solid place to have a few beers and some good food with friends.

THEGOOD: — The people who work at this pizza joint were nice. They seem to be genuinely good people. — The beer selection was decent. I actually thought there were a lot of beers to choose from which is unusual for a small place like Avenue 3. — Prices at this pizza joint are reasonable and don’t make me want to throw my wad of 1’s into the air. This is good since I can use those 1’s the way they were intended… to purchase food at other eateries… what were you thinking I was going to use them for, hmmm? THEBAD: — The pizza wasn’t the star of the show. Odd for a place that sells mostly pizzas. The crust didn’t taste like cardboard but it did feel like it in my mouth. Thin crust pizzas should be left to the pizzerias in New York City. Mmm. NYC pizza. THEUGLY: — This restaurant is located in a slightly awkward place. However, the owners seem to be working it as best as they can. — The juke box doesn’t always work. It’s slightly charming in a weird kind of way. — One doesn’t eat here for the décor.

Pretty decent pizza, but the service could be better. The people at the front didn’t seem to be so concerned about customer service, and that took away from the dining experience. However, the pizza was good, and it’s a sports bar-like area so I wasn’t expecting folded napkins or anything, but wiping down the tables every once in a while so that they aren’t sticky would be nice. They also have a «gaming» area at the entrance, but I’ve never seen anyone use it.

Avenue No. 3 is a solid place to grab some cheap beer, friendly service, and decent pizza in a convenient location right off the 405. The fact that it feels like a Shakey’s Pizza circa 1980 with bench seating and video game machines is all part of the charm. The pizza is good, old fashioned traditional American style pizza. Crunchy edge but soft in the middle. It’s just greasy enough to be tasty without being so greasy that it makes you feel gross. This is far from gourmet but still quite tasty. This certainly isn’t the kind of place where you’d go on a first date but a perfect place to meet up with friends for food and beers. With lots of TVs you can watch the game while the kids are kept happy with the video games. The service here is great. I left my credit card there and they happily held onto it for me until I came back right before they closed that night. Thanks Avenue No. 3!

This local establishment has been around for as long as I can remember, and for good reason too. The prices are reasonable, the food is pretty good for bar food, and it’s a good spot to watch the game without having to deal with utterly ridiculous crowds. A pitcher of domestic beer is $ 8, with a pitcher of premium/imported beers for $ 12. For those in a university organization, they will also work with you for fundraisers as well, which is always a plus. Shaun’s Recommendation-Chili-Cheese Fries; goes great with beer, great to share.
