Very friendly service, freshly made pizza right in front of us while we waited and the wait wasn’t very long. The sausage and mushroom was delicious.

Hotel staff recommended this place and had it delivered. Ordered the plain and Hawaiian pizza, along with a linguini with meatball. While I wouldn’t put it in the same category as NY City style pizza, I enjoyed it and would order from them again.

Pretty average pizza. Not great crust, not bad. TV going in the dining area is a turn off. Average service. Average prices. Meh.

Pizza was very good, nice crust and very flavorful. We got the BBQ-something pizza and it was super good! A bit of a wait for take-out, especially during midweek. But the wait was worth it.

Giving only 4 stars because the meatball sub was not good and the meatballs seemed like they were the bagged frozen kind. The pizza and calzones were simply amazing! Great friendly service as well.

Our family new favorite pizza in LP. Not exceptional but very good. Always get cheese so don’t know about toppings. Surprisingly little decent pizza here and Johnnys is probably best. Good delivery service.

Traveled over twenty hours in search of the perfect food. Then I found Johnny’s delicious ass pizza. I didn’t know why exactly New Yorkers talked so much shit about their pizza. Johnny’s gives them the right to talk as much shit as they want! The crust, the sauce, the toppings, the crust, oh the crust, and the crust… So crispy, so good, perfect pizza. Congrats on going there. If I helped you get there you should think me.

Leaving canam hockey camp and found johnnys pizza. Really great pizza. Great cheese, sauce and crispy crust. Also had garlic bread with a side of their sauce. Sauce was fantastic so I will say that i am sure pasta with this sauce will be a hit. Who new 5 hours north of NYC there is good pizza. Two thumbs up for Johnny’s!

Good pizza overall. Pies are cooked to order with good quality cheese and a zesty flavorful tomato sauce. The toppings I ordered(pepperoni and meatball) were decent, though the meatball tasted as if it had been sitting around for a few hours. Really, the only negative about their pizza is that it is very salty — to the extent that I woke up quite thirsty after eating half a pie for dinner the night before. Granted, it’s pizza, so high sodium levels are to be expected, but Johnny’s pies seemed a bit saltier than what I am used to. Service was likewise good: friendly and courteous. Unlike a lot of restaurants in the downtown area which cater to the tourist crowd, Johnny’s seemed like more of a local spot to me. The atmosphere is a bit divey(vibe is decidedly«local hole in the wall pizza joint») and definitely not trying to impress anyone. That being said, don’t hesitate on eating here if you’re a tourist(like I was) — food and service will not disappoint!

Went here for dinner with family. Pizza is very good(and I live near NY City) and service was very accommodating. Some of the more pricier restaurants you will pay more for in town and wait in lines, at Johhny’s, the Pizza is very good and you can sit and eat or take back to your hotel.

Pizza is by far the best in Lake Placid. Johnny’s is off the main strip. On Unilocal it says it’s closed but they are open 7 days a week. Service was excellent, lady was constantly checking in and cleaning. The owner kept looking to make sure everyone was happy. As a New Yorker, two thumbs up for the pizza.

Yum! I wanted to get Mike’s pizza since that’s what we’ve always gone to in the past but my fam wanted to try Johnnys. So I gave in. And boy I’m glad I did. It was delicious New York style pizza. We got a meat lovers and a Johnnys white. Both were so good. Really everything about them was satisfying. Nothing else to say. … just get it!

This place was the worst, I ordered a Ham and cheese sub. I asked for it to be plain, no mayo, no nothing. When I got home 15 miles away I opened the container and found a piece and a half of ham and a pile of lettuce, tomatoes and onions with 2 pieces of american cheese tossed on top. This was all placed on what wasn’t much more than a hot dog bun covered in mayo. My friend got an antipasto salad and a meatball sub. The sub was tasteless and the salad was a garden salad with pepperoni slices on it. I mean seriously, how can you possibly screw up a plain ham and cheese sub?

We sat outside and enjoyed a nice evening on the picnic tables. The pizza is much more tasty than it looks. I only say that because it looks a bit like Sbarro/Pizza Pizza but has a completely different flavor. We ordered a medium vegetarian and our friends chowed-down on a meat lovers. It’s a thin-medium size crust that’s a bit salty and delicious. They seem to only have medium and large sizes. For those who aren’t into big portions, the medium is probably just enough for 3 people.

Was pleasantly surprised with this place, took a gamble after reading some reviews here and am glad i did! Pizza in a remote mountain town is usually pretty sketchy close to frozen pizza style, but Johnnys was nice and fresh with a perfectly crispy crust and great cheese! Some excellent flavors in the sauce. A huge plus is seeing the owner behind the counter making the pizzas by hand. Thats when you know its going to be good! Also seemed like a very friendly dude.

was pretty happy with johnny’s pizza. seems like lake placid lacks good cuisine, i would assume it’s because they depend on tourists and not much on returning customers. the restaurant was close by my hotel. the counter person was very friendly(which was a plus given some restaurant/shop owners in lake placid are rude minimum wage earning high schoolers who have no sense of customer service). i ordered the everything pizza. it was quite tasty and loaded with toppings. they did not skimp at all. it was little bit more on the meaty side and there weren’t much veggies on it. but otherwise, it was pretty good. i also got an order of the fried calamari. it was ok, wasn’t the freshest tasting but then again this is not that type of restaurant, but overall good enough. i liked how they put a little red pepper flakes in the dipping sauce. the service was fast, my pizza only took about 15min. would be worth the walk for visitors. food and service is excellent by lake placid standards.

While traveling through Lake Placid, I was craving a slice of pizza. This restaurant had outdoor seating, which seemed like a great idea on a hot day. The signage was clear and new outside, which was a good sign to me too. I went inside, greeted kindly, and immediately had my order taken. They staff was helpful, pleasant, and served my pizza very fast. The pizza was very good, not oily or too flat, or too burnt, just perfect. I absolutely recommend this to anyone in the area, I can’t wait to go back!
