Every year we travel to Lake Placid and every year we stop in to Arena Bar & Grill. Great place to stop for some food and drinks — the wings are the best! Burgers and quesadilla are also good. Will definitely be back again next trip for more Shock Top, Irish Coffee, and Apple Cider!

We sat outside and our service was horrible. We got one beer and our waitress never came to check on us. I had to go inside and find her to tell her we are done

Food was surprisingly good. Place looks a bit tired but the Philly Cheese Steak, chicken quesadilla and veggie pizza were all great.

Walked in hoping to catch a baseball game. Asked a server, who pointed listlessly toward the(sticky) remote. No help. We waited 10 minutes for menus or water or something. Servers chatted in the corner while other customers tried to get their attention to pay the check. Gave up and left. Don’t bother.

Server was very nice. Brought out a menu and decided to keep lunch at $ 10 for the cheese pizza described as gourmet and a water. Let me just say, skip the pizza. Says gourmet. Isn’t. Not even up to Digiorno standards. It is clearly a boxed pizza and I’m serious when I say it’s the SAME pizza you can get at the gas station down the street. Needless to say it was salt in the wound when they tried to charge me $ 12. Apparently they brought me the ‘wrong menu’, the regular menu, and not the price spikes menu because an event is in town. My coworker had a sandwich and it looked slightly more appetizing, but I’ve got to review on MY experience. For pizza in Placid, I’ll go to Johnny’s!

This place is horrible! Walked in and thought it would be a decent choice but we were wrong! Clam chowder was watery with no taste. Apparently not everyone knows how to make a grilled cheese and the waitress forgot half of our order. Don’t waste your time coming here. At least the beer was cold.

Terrible service, ran out of ice. Had to call in back for a waitress. Soda had no syrup in it. Awful!

Plenty of good choices in Lake Placid. If you’re looking for a patio and a beer this might do. They definitely put the bar in bar and grill. The burgers attempt some variety but they’re marginally okay. The patties appear to be factory made. Service is well… sometimes there is some service. Twice there enough for me. Just a heads up, they don’t take AMEX if you care about that.

We visited about 10 different bars and restaurants over the weekend in Lake Placid and this was by far the worst. We had intended to have a couple drinks and an appetizer, but didn’t even get greeted until we had been there for 10 – 15 minutes. The service was incredibly bad. We tried several times to get the bartender’s attention so we could look at a menu, but had no luck. Tried to get a second drink several times, no luck. After enduring such horrible service, I decided not to tip the bartender at all(and I’m not sure I’ve ever done that before). When I got home and started going through expenses from the weekend, I noticed that the bartender had added in a 33% tip for herself! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone – stay away!

I feel bad giving this even one star it was do gross. Dead bugs littered the entire window sill. Everything was sticky and the food in edible. Avoid at all costs– there are plenty of good places to eat within a mile of this place.

This place doesn’t deserve the 2 star review it currently has. Our bar tender(ally) was fantastic. We never had an empty drink. Great place to come hang out. The bar is fun, we met some new friends, got to talk about sports with some interesting people, including Mike Milbury(hockey). The pizza was really good also. I definitely recommend this place, especially of you’re just looking for some drinks and casual dinning. I would definitely recommend this place!(Great prices, especially for Lake Placid!)

Food was terrible, we ordered onion rings to start and they came out greasy and over fried. Tasted like the oil they were fried in was really old. My burger was burnt and came with mushrooms after i had asked for no mushrooms. My girlfriends grilled cheese was burnt and she ended up getting sick later that night, literally spent the whole night throwing up! I wouldnt suggest this place to my worst enemy

Extensive menu, quick wait service. We came on a Saturday night and it was neither crowded nor empty. Noise level was fine — there was music playing at a soft level. Food was a little slow considering we only ordered a salad and a wrap. My buffalo chicken wrap was great and the fries were perfect; I’d definitely recommend it! We picked this place because we needed a fast dinner and tried not to be turned off by the 2.5 rating(which it does NOT deserve!). It was worth it.

This has been the worst place we ate at so far in lake placid. Service was super slow. My father ordered a pulled pork sandwich which looked like dog food. The beverages don’t include refills and are almost $ 3 for soda. Our waitress barely spoke English and had hard time understanding us. On top of it tip was automatically included in our bill do we couldn’t adjust our waitress’s tip for the poor service.

The food was good enough. I got a reuben, my fiancé got a steak sandwich. As an appetizer we got fries that the menu described as «Putin style.» Apparently Putin enjoys cheese and gravy on his fries. We both ordered soda without being told or seeing in the menu that refills weren’t complimentary. Draft beers were $ 2.50 during happy hour, which we were there for, the sodas we drank were $ 2 each. It’s places like Arena that bank on pulling tourists in, taking as much money as they can, and then sending them on their way knowing that it doesn’t matter if that customer would eat there again or not, since there’s a good chance they live nowhere near the establishment. The reuben itself was good and my fiancé’s sandwich was good as well. What struck us as odd was that the server left without asking what type of sides we wanted, and brought us both a side of fries although we got fries as an appetizer. The fries, especially without the gravy and cheese, weren’t good enough to eat twice in one sitting. This may have been because our server had a bandage on his forehead and a bewildered look on his face, leading me to believe that maybe he had a concussion. If you’re a lonely person that loves listening to other people’s conversations, this place is great for you; the acoustics here allow you to hear simultaneously here every conversation that isn’t happening in the kitchen. Considering that I’m in a relationship with someone that I actually enjoy talking to, it made for an annoying lunch hearing some guy several tables away explaining what muscles in his legs bothered him after skiing, or hearing the large group on the other side of the dining room talk about who had the worst attendance for their club.

It was cold out and this was the only place that looked somewhat cheap and warm so we stopped in. Plus there were no Unilocal reviews on the place so Jay and I wanted to be first. There was no wait when we stopped in. There was some outdoor seating and a fire pit outside. Since the weather was in the single digits, we opted for the indoor seating. The place is old and needs updated. Has a nice laid back feel to it but with the amount of customers that come in this place you think they could at least manage to take some of the stains out of the carpet. Moving on, the menu is cheap and there is variety. Wraps, salads, sandwiches, fries and pizza. I got a steak and mushroom wrap that noted it came with a pickle, choice of wrap type, and my choice of fries or chips. Unfortunately when the waiter came he didn’t offer for me to pick fries/chips or what kind of wrap I wanted he just picked them out for me. The food was great. We got a side of fries which was pretty much unnecessary because our food already came with a side of fries. They have a bar here too as well as drink specials. The coke here does not have unlimited refills so be prepared to spend 2 dollars a glass or instead order water.
