Not a bad first impression, but it wasn’t too bad. I came here for lunch today around 12:40. There was no wait and I was sat imminently and the whole experience lasted about 20 minutes from order to check drop. They have a decent lunch special menu. The sushi on the lunch menu wasn’t as impressive as the Hibachi or Bento boxes looked better, but I really wanted sushi. The sushi lunch special was a salad and 2 rolls on the special menu. The«salad» I got wasn’t impressive, just lettuce and dressing(the dressing alone was pretty good). The sushi rolls I got were the Philly roll and Sweet Potato roll. They were pretty standard, nothing made them stand out beyond other rolls I had in the past. I wouldn’t come back here for the sushi lunch, but I will be back to try the bento box or hibachi.

This is a definite destination! The sashimi here is fresh and delicious, as is the hibachi. We also loved the atmosphere, which is upscale and at a much higher quality level than many other Japanese steakhouses in Kissimmee & Orlando. You won’t be disappointed here!

This is probably a Chinese-ran Japanese restaurant. We came here after 9 pm right off the plane. Happy to know they are still open. They offer good size dish and taste is perfect for someone who just need something tasty with some soup and not too heavy. I notice they also have tepanyaki and sushi that we may try next time. The restaurant is spacious and clean.

Went here for the first time. I have been meaning to check it out. I ordered Tofu Teriyaki and plum sake. The food was good and the sake is delicious. It is a bit pricey and there is a bit of a wait for food. Overall, it is a good, clean establishment.

Sushi was delicious, as was the Teppanyaki. Our family had a great time. Service was friendly. Little on the pricey side, but that seems to be the norm for these type of special occasion venues. Skip the dessert. The fried ice cream and the fried cheese cake were just not good. Don’t know if the batter was just bland, undercooked or both, but we were not impressed and definitely left us with a bad taste in our mouths. But, besides that, an enjoyable evening.

Food was delicious but the service was awful. One of the 3 meals came out and after 10minutes had to ask about the other 2 meals. The manager or owner(not sure who he was) said they would check. The other meals them came out and no one asked how everything was after that, not even the manager or owner when he later walked by. Waitress never came back to ask how everything was or if we wanted another drink until she asked if we wanted to-go containers. If the food wasn’t so delicious I would have given 1 star, and wasn’t like the place was packed full.

It was a nice place and very clean. The food was good and the server was nice. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi combo and it was very good. They used a little too much teriyaki sauce for my liking but thats something easily dealt with. The prices aren’t crazy for lunch with made me happy. I would go back

This place used to be really good but the quality here lately has really went downhill. After the last couple times questioning why we still eat there, we decided to give it one more try last night. We ordered the Agedashi tofu appetizer(as usual) and it was the same as the last couple of times, mushy and tasting like the deep fryer oil hadn’t been changed in a while. We tried a couple of pieces and when we decided it wasn’t worth eating, we told our server about it. She took it back but we were still charged for it. That will be our last time eating there, it’s a shame because Mizu used to be one of our favorite places locally.

Yesterday, while visiting Orlando, my husband and I were in a mood for some Sushi. After a brief Internet search, we’ve decided to give Mizu Sushi a try. All I can say is… always trust your gut instincts! We gleefully entered the restaurant around 7PM. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Orlando, it is one of the busiest cities in the US, and most of its great restaurants are always packed to the gills at any given time of the day. However, this was not the case with Mizu — located at 1632 W Osceola Pkwy, Kissimmee, FL34741(they have two other locations on Orlando under the same ownership). The restaurant was eerily empty during the busiest time of the dinner rush, although the sign showed that they close at 11PM nightly. There were no furniture in their patio, chairs were raised and placed on top of the tables, and the restaurant appeared to be… ghostly. Nevertheless, Although somewhat reluctant we cheerfully proceeded to the counter to request a table for 2., well, actually 4, as both our small service dogs were with us, and as usual, restrained in their carriers. Upon noticing the dog carriers, the hostess — Sara– or maybe the human versions of a hybrid between a Barracuda and a Perahia, sneered at us that we cannot come in with pets. I quickly corrected her that I am well aware of the laws, and these are tagged serviced dogs and not pets, and as such, entry to them and their handlers, cannot be denied to any public facility in the US. However, she wanted nothing to do with the facts, and insisted that since we do not have a «letter», or vests for the dogs, we need to leave. In turn I suggested that she pull up the ADA Service Animal requirements as they are outlined by the US Department of Justice, on her computer to better understand the law. Instead she quickly interrupted me, stating that she didn’t care to know, and thus didn’t need to be educated on this subject. I then proceeded to pull out my iPad, and bring up the link to the US Department of Justice page, which outlines the requirements as they pertain to Service Animals, and her rights as a business owner, or its employee. When she saw that, she walked away from me, barking in Chinese(yes, not Japanese, and no pun intended), informing me that if she could read, she wouldn’t be a hostess, but rather an attorney. Furthermore, she proceeded to inform us that she did not care about the any Federal law, the potential violation, and or its consequences! She then called the owner, and told us to wait by the door. We kindly asked her to speak with the manager or the owner, but she insisted that he did not want to speak to us, and if we stay, we can only be seated by the door. We replied, that if we stay, we would like to be seated inside, at a booth, and not be put by the door in a completely empty restaurant. At that point, she started to yell at us that she will have us arrested, and she was calling 911! We were delighted to wait for the officers, who quickly arrived and proceeded to educate her of her rights and violations. Shaken, distraught, and irritated after she was informed that her actions are now a subject to a complaint for discrimination and violation of the Federal ADA laws, as well as potential civil suit, she informed the officers that under the circumstances, we could stay, but only if the officers would stay there as well, to watch us! Needless to stay we were not interested in that …“kind” offer! We shook the officers’ hands, thanked them for their help, collected the incident number, and quickly departed to enjoy a fantastic meal at the very busy, bustling, and delicious Mikado, just a couple of miles down the road. Unlike the ghostly ghastly Mizu, Mikado was packed at 8PM, the hostess was charming, the service was outstanding, and the food was more than faaaantastic! The moral of the story — always trust the first impression and your gut feelings, and always stand up for what is right, not only to protect yourself, but those who are unable to do so! Yes, we will be filing a formal complaint with the US Department of Justice against this establishment as we’ve learned it wasn’t their first time!

Mizu was a pleasant surprise! We were in the mood for hibachi today but didn’t want to hit the usual spots, so we thought we would try something new. I’m very glad we did. For the price, this place is fantastic. We went for a late lunch(around 2:30PM) and both had lunch combination hibachi specials. Food: I had the NY steak and shrimp and my wife had the filet and chicken. Both combination meals included salad, miso, rice and vegi’s for less than $ 20 per person. The salad was first and worried me for the rest of the meal; it was leaf lettuce and a milky ginger(I think) dressing. But things got MUCH better from there and made me forget the terrible salad. The miso was very good. It was definitely American miso, not Japanese miso, but it was tasty all the same. I appreciate the fried onion added to the miso. It was a unique flair. The fried rice and vegi’s were standard hibachi fare. However the proteins were great. My steak was fork-cut tender as was my wife’s. It had a great seasoning, was perfectly cooked and was fantastic. Definitely the star of the meal. The shrimp were of a good size and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken. The sauces(yum-yum and ginger) were decent, but nothing amazing. Service: The servers were very attentive without being overbearing. The real star was the chef. I’ve enjoy hibachi restaurants often and usually see the same show over and over — onion volcano, light the grill on fire, toss around the utensils, make«egg roll» puns, etc. However this chef went above and beyond to show new«flair» I had not seen before — including«audience» participation. I actually enjoyed it instead of my usual«seen this before» attitude. We will most certainly be returning as Mizu gives a solid meal for the price paid.

Cute decorations. I always enjoyed the upside down umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. The staff is pretty friendly and nice and the restaurant is clean and organized… The only reason why this didn’t get a 5 star is because the food is missing some extra flavor. The Bento boxes are fun but the proteins like the teriyaki chicken and steak needs a little pick me upper. The sushi is not bad but definitely not excellent either. Other than that, this is a pretty fun place to go.

I’ve heard a lot of good things from several different people since this place opened and I finally went in for some sushi! Good stuff! Everyone I was with enjoyed what they ordered, as did I, but I regretfully do not remember the name of the roll I ordered. The service and restaurant atmosphere was nice and the have a separate room for hibachi, where I saw quite a few families enjoying their lunch. I will return to indulge!

First time here at this location. Sushi was amazing. ordered the Thunder Roll. We had the Mizu Supreme. Which included steak, shrimp, scallops, chicken and lobster. The only downfall was the lobster. tasted fishy. We complained about it and they gave us more scallops instead. This place is great and the staff definitely makes sure you leave happy!

Good service, good food, nice place. We got hibachi lunch specials at the regular tables and were pleased with our selections. I thought the food was on the bland side but everything was prepared well. No complaints!

We didn’t order the sushi; maybe should have. We are vegan so don’t eat meat, fish, dairy or eggs so it is difficult to find a restaurant to dine out. For our 29th wedding anniversary we thought we would try. Mizu said they had vegan appropriate dishes so we went. We were served a tofu dish that had No flavor and when we explained that they used ‘soft tofu’ instead of firm/drained(My wife Nancy is a gourmet vegan chef!) they pretty much ignored us; except for the lovely/kind waitress. We informed the manager that the stuff was inedible but he seemed to care less. Then charged us FULL price for two meals we barely touched. The waitress convinced him take part of the charge off but he didn’t even bother to inquire if we wanted a replacement dish. We had hopes for a local restaurant we could eat at occasionally but NOT this one! They don’t give a darn about customers just want to churn.

We went there for their hibachi dinner special(2 for $ 25). Since it was close to 9 p.m., there was a little wait due to the chefs working on other tables. It was nice that we had a table to ourselves and the chef(I believe his name was Na Na) was exceptional! The food was pretty good and to me, it was a large portion so we ended up taking it home. We did order sushi and it’s okay. I honestly wouldn’t go back for it, but I will do the hibachi again.

After an exciting purchase at Best Buy, I wanted to celebrate with a restaurant outing and I offered all the local possibilities to my girlfriend, and she chose Mizu, which was right next to Best Buy and the new Plato’s Closet(across from the loop on the Osceola Parkway side). My two points of comparison for Japanese fare will be Sushi Katana at Millenia(no hibachi) and Benihana(hibachi) at International. The restaurant’s décor needs some work to make it more appealing and some of the booths need some upholstery done. That first impression coupled with an unexciting non-hibachi menu for people who don’t eat seafood(my girlfriend) was making us nervous. My girlfriend would have settled for teriyaki something, which is not exactly her favorite. She was looking forward to some Sushi Katana-style beef strips over brown rice, but we didn’t see anything in the menu that looked like it. So, I decided to switch to hibachi dining, show and all, and that was a great decision! The show was frankly much better than Benihana’s(and I’ve gone multiple times for work-sponsored lunches), with the usual repertoire of hibachi tricks plus a couple of new things. The knife/tools juggling was flawless and the chef was energetic and seemed to have a good time. I ordered shrimp hibachi and my girlfriend went for chicken hibachi. The portions were very generous and the fried rice was very, very tasty. They also threw some noodles in the mix! There was more food than we could handle, but that’s always good for tomorrow’s lunch! Unfortunately, we forgot the leftovers, but oh well. Now, the fried ice cream needs some improvement. Compared to Sushi Katana’s, it was sub-par. The balance between the cold and the hot, the frozen and the melting was not achieved. The ice cream inside was very hard, to the point of making the dessert involve more effort than needed. It was also not beautifully presented with the swirls of chocolate or similar chef-inspired flair. However, all considered, I was glad we went for hibachi and it was a fun and tasty experience. I still prefer Sushi Katana for couples and a more elegant and exotic trip to Japanese cuisine, but for a family or group outing, I will visit Mizu again. With just a couple more touches(décor, furniture, fried ice cream, friendlier bento boxes for non-seafood lovers), this could be our favorite Japanese restaurant. If you are by the Loop, and want to rest from all that shopping and get some hibachi, drop by!
