I usually have major cravings for sushi almost all the time and this is my favorite place to go too. The quality of the sashimi and sushi are great and I love the«Mom and Pop» atmosphere of the restaurant(hanging from the walls are autographs of Houston Astros players). I usually get the«Spider Rolls», «Sushi En Rolls» and a couple of sashimis. Average price if you compare it to other restaurants.

Outstanding sushi, in a small, comfortable space. The beef teriyaki was too too good!

Yikes, happy I looked back and saw I left the wrong review for this restaurant. The 5 star review was for another sushi spot in Brandon. Here’s the correct review: We really didn’t understand the stellar recommendations for this place. We were literally the only patrons there during a weekend dinner hour. The restaurant is clean. Appetizers — Gyoza not good at all. Vegetable Tempura wasn’t bad but wasn’t good, if that makes sense. The veggies were just too thick so they didn’t cook right. Dinner — Honestly, I couldn’t get through a second piece of the sushi. Service — Not really sure how to rate this so you decide. The tables are extremely small. After eating some of the appetizers they started bringing the sushi. There wasn’t enough room. I asked the server if she could box up the appetizers so the food would fit on the table. The table was already wobbly and full. What I assumed was a simple fix, really wasn’t. You know what they say about assumptions and it’s true. There is absolutely nothing more uncomfortable than hearing someone talking to their boss and telling them they were requested to do something outside the duties of their responsibility. That being, boxing appetizers. I felt like an a$$…I just would’ve felt like more of an a$$ if I moved the appetizers to the seat of the booth on my side, the other table or chair next to us or maybe in the window… There simply wasn’t room and they(the seasoned server and her trainee) brought the food to the table. We took the food to go because it was already uncomfortable and I wouldn’t dare say or ask anything else. It.Was.Awkward. We left and dined at Chipotle.

I always love their sushi. I have yet to have a really horrible experience here. Their sushi always tastes fresh. I have been coming here for years and will continue to come here when in need for sushi. I tend to compare other places to here and so far I have yet to come across a place that has better sushi than sushi en.

It is like a secret place but definitely one of the best sushi place in town. The chief is so experienced and every server is so nice and friendly. Definitely recommended! This is a real Japanese place owned and running by Japanese chief!

My family and I were in Florida for a wedding and since we were here I wanted to get sushi. I love it and we are closer to the ocean(from the Midwest). I’ve eaten my fair share of sushi and this place was awesome. Very small inside, don’t let thay scare you, it may only sit 30 at max. The sushi though was delicious. My family got teriyaki chicken and need, as well as pork tankas(something like that= BBQ), all of that was delicious. The BBQ sauce was great. I would definitely suggest this to people visiting or who live here. It may be a bit smaller but the food was definitely worth it.

First and foremost the quality and taste of the food was great. It’s such a little place and to have been there for 11yrs, as our server told us, says as much. I had the baby octopus as an appetizer and that was the weakest dish. It felt like some of the pieces were almost frozen. All the sushi I had was great and very fresh. I’m a big fan of spicy tuna rolls and their super spicy tuna roll was great. Overall great place with great sushi. Pricing was a lil high, but I will definitely go back.

Authentic Japanese place! I had the sushi lunch set with the salad with ginger dressing. The rice did not fall apart when i ate the sushi which means it is very well made and the sushi was fresh. I want to come back soon and eat some of the Japanese hot entrees.

Most importantly: the location is near the texaco gas station. It is hard to find unless you know what you’re looking for. Now, for the review, I’ll keep it short and sweet: The quality of the food was great. Sushi was fresh and delicious. The prices were on par with what I’d expect of a good quality sushi place(not cheap but not overpriced). The rolls could have been a little more generous. The service was quick and good, though we were there later at night and the restaurant was mostly empty. I did have to seek out a waiter to request some extra sauce at one point because no one had come by in a long time. I think some of the rolls may be hit or miss. Ordered the En Special roll and found it very bland and needing some extra flavor but at the same time, the fish used was really good so I can’t complain too much.

Excellent nigiri sushi. Very fresh fish, and the rice is packed just right. The rolls are ok, I’d recommend the their caterpillar roll.

I have dined here numerous times before this review and it is always a pleasant experience. Today was a rare Tuesday off for me and we were able to enjoy their lunch instead of the usual dinner. I had the«En Lunch Combination». It comes with miso soup, white rice &2 shrimp shumai. Then you pick from 3 other sections. The entrée which are deep fried seasoned chicken, fried shrimp, or teriyaki salmon. Pick 2 out of lunch side salad, seaweed salad, edamame, calamari salad. Lastly, pick either 4 pieces of California or spicy tuna roll. My picks were fried chicken, seaweed salad & calamari salad, spicy tuna. All of this for only $ 11.95! BF had«Trio Roll Lunch». There are 3 sections, each section including 3 types of rolls. You pick 1 from each section, 4 pieces per roll. Section 1: California, spicy tuna or the veggie roll. Section 2: shrimp tempura, Hunters creek or Bagel roll. Section 3: Hunters creek Mexican, Hunters creek Philly or Boston/Alaska roll. He had spicy tuna, shrimp tempura & Hunters creek Mexican roll. All for only $ 8.95! Added a side salad for an extra $ 1.50. Needless to say, we were both very full after lunch. The lunch was as excellent as the dinners. We went in at open which was noon and we were out of there by 12:45. The Master(one who I assume is the owner) is always attentive and friendly and so are the servers. There was a couple having a hard time deciding what to order and both the Master and server spent a lot of time helping them understand the meals on the menus. This little bit isn’t about this visit, but I have had many rolls, udon w/tempura shrimp and tonkatsu(fried pork) for dinner here in the past and they have never failed to please. It is a quaint little sushi and Japanese comfort food restaurant that holds about 20 people max. Great place to enjoy a little bit of peace in this busy-busy world :)

Great little sushi bar in the heart of Hunter’s Creek. I saw a special on the owner on News 13 having scored a perfect score on the annual food inspector’s visit. I never really had the opportunity to go over there but I am glad it worked out this time. Their sushi is very fresh and made very well.

I have been going to Sushi En for over 11 years. The restaurant is always very clean, and the atmosphere is just right. This is by far the best sushi I’ve ever had in Central Florida, and I’ve been to many Japanese restaurants. They always give you service with a smile, and I haven’t had one thing there that didn’t taste amazing. I can’t even list all the things I love, because it would be over half the menu lol. They do have the best spicy tuna roll I’ve ever had, and their udon noodle soup is like soul food. I moved out of the area recently and still drive 30 miles one way just to eat there.

I judge sushi places by how they make their spicy tuna rolls. Seems shallow and not very foodie of me but I have found that of you can’t make a good spicy tuna roll your sashimi and other rolls are usually subpar. Sushi En’s spicy tuna roll was amazing. Perfectly spicy with a quality cut of tuna in the roll. The sushi rice held up great and the spicy mayo was a great blend of creamy and spicy. Service was good — Kyle was great — and the atmosphere was perfect for an intimate date. Definitely not a place for groups as seating is limited. You wouldn’t think that Hunter’s Creek would have this gem here, but it does, and I’m glad I found it!
