A fast food chain location has to be incredible or horrendous in order for me to Unilocal them. Sadly, this JIB landed in the latter category. Service and wait time were OK. The food was over-salted. Meh, I can deal with that; I’ll just wash it down with water. Then I drank the water, which was a huge mistake. This place has the WORST, hands down, water quality I have ever tasted. It was salty, stale, and metallic all at the same time. It was so bad that I could taste the dirty water my over syrup-ed coke from the fountain. From now on, I’m sticking to the In-N-Out or McD at the Kettleman City pit stop, even if it means a longer wait time.

Stopped at this Jack in the Box location on the way to LA off the 5. We got breakfast here and ate quickly so that we could be on our way. Service was fast and efficient and bathroom were clean for our use.

Food here made us sick. Bathroom view didn’t help. Just look at the filth. Sign of quality hygiene here?

Convenient location right off I5. Service was good. Tables were clean. Food was very good for a Jack in the box. 4 stars because we had to keep shoeing away flies during our meal.

I know that we shouldn’t expect a gourmet experience while dining here, but this has to be the worst we’ve ever had. The monster tacos were so greasy that oil seeped out when I took a bite. The egg rolls were dry but undercooked. The sourdough jack was dry and flavorless. Our daughter asked to buy the mini cookies for $ 1, which you’d think would be fool proof to mess up. I was wrong! My husband ate one and almost spit it out. They were undercooked AND burnt! Luckily the gas station across the street had plenty of Tums. We’ve eaten there many times while driving up and down I-5 from the Bay Area to LA, but this is seriously making us rethink our dining choices in Kettleman City! My advice… go to Carl’s Jr instead.

The slowest Jack in the box. Ordered inside, was able to take a deuce and fill up on gas before my order was ready… Wow.

The dining room was clean, the restrooms were passable, then parking was easy– the food was a bit of an issue as our order was a mess & items were missing… they did correct it, but hassled me & then made me go back to my table to get the receipt to prove I had ordered it «that way” — my pita sandwich tasted as if the bread was 3 days old… not a repeat road trip fast food joint anytime soon…

Came here for a quick lunch after heading back to California from LA. Service at this Jack In The Box was great, they took our order right away and was fast making it. I ordered a 20 Piece Chicken Nuggets, a Large Oreo Shake and 1 order of Large Curly Fries. 120 Piece Chicken Nuggets: $ 4.99 1 Large Oreo Shake $ 3.29 1 Large Curly Fries $ 2.39 Total ended up to be $ 10.67, but then 80 cents tax so $ 11.47. Great alternative to the McDonald’s nearby!

[Project: «Kicken It Outta Da Can!» — 1 Year In The Draft Queue Is Long Enough!] Best Jack Tacos Next to Vallejo’s Tennessee Street. SITREP I stop at this Jack’s a bit more often on L.A.-Sacramento trips since it’s about at the halfway point here in Kettleman City, and I usually get gas here — always on the trip back to Sacramento — and so once off-ramped, might as well look for food too. SETUP I really like the tacos at this Jack in the Box — for 4 for $ 2, that’s usually enough to fill the hole in my stomach until I get back to Sacramento in the next 3 hours(on average). COMPARISONS I have come to respect the fact that though it may be coincidental(?) at times, I’ve noticed that different franchises of the same restaurant chain, sometimes do things better than other franchisees. I’m not a fan of the tacos at the Pinole Valley Jack In The Box off I-80, since the best tacos I’ve had any Jack’s are at the Jack in Vallejo just off of Tennessee street, FTR. But the tacos at this Jack’s in Kettleman City are not far behind. Thick, full of good stuff, not limpy lettuce, decent amount of cheese, so I’m pretty impressed with how good ONETACO can be at 50 cents. 2 for $ 1. Or in my case, 4 for $ 2. THELOWDOWN My preferred Jack stop for late night I-5 freeway travel when I want some cheap, inexpensive, and good tacos.

I’ve especially enjoyed my visit here because it is so quiet. It is perhaps the cleanest fast food join that I’ve seen. The service was quick and prompt. The food was good. If you have to pick a place in Kettlemen City, this is great

This is the place we stop at if In-N-Out down the street is just too busy! It is a nice Jack In the Box. We’ve been there a few times, and it has always been clean with no crowds! The food and customer service has been fine. Stop here if In-N-Out is too crowded. It’s a nice alternative.

Good ol’ Jack in the Box… what can I say about this fast foodie restaurant in the middle of Nor– and So-Cal… It’s your basic Jack in the Box, affordable, all the selections from your value meal to your big burgers to your breakfast items(which was cool to be served all day)…best thing is 99 cent tacos. Worst thing — there are onions that come in the burgers that I couldn’t stand at all… Other than that, it’s the alternative to In-N-Out across the way: P

I used to be stationed at the near by military installation here, NAS Lemoore. Driving my son to southern California and making a pit-stop here definitely sparks conversation of those times between my eight year old son and I. Marcus: We lived here? Me: Yep Marcus: Did we have pets? Me: 2 dogs Marcus: I miss having 2 dogs Me: You have one at your mom’s house. *Marcus: Ever shoot anyone when you were in the milit… tary? Me: 16. 14 adults, and 2 children. Marcus: Why? Me: They asked too many questions. Marcus: Really? Me: Ask me another question… I dare you. Marcus:(lowers head) Me: Quit crying, don’t be a wuss… hippies and sissies are wusses. Marcus: Wah! Me: Don’t make me use my duct tape and trunk, son… Marcus: Ok I’ll stop!(whimpers). Me: Too late you’ve caused a scene…(drags child into vehicle) * and onward = obviously untrue C’mon, it’s a JITB… if you’ve been to one, you’ve been to em’ all. Unless they’re not the revamped kind yet in nowhere, USA. The advantage of a JITB is that you get the same Jack’s Spicy Chicken whether you’re in SoCal, CenCal or NorCal. For serious. And no I’m not the violent type, I love my son to death… even if my humor is a little dark. To death… O_O «I’ve been called many things, nostalgic isn’t one of them» –Tony Stark.

I came here at about 9 am to get some food. It got really crowded with Army men soon after I arrived and placed my order. The facility is clean and looks newer than most Jack in the Box s. Unfortunately, it took a while to get my food. I don’t know if it was because it got crowded but I suppose Jack in the Box just is a bit more slower in preparing food? Everything seemed good. Food was decent. Seems like a good location. Will stop by again next time I take a trip to San Fran! Makes a good rest stop :]

The best service ever at a fast food restaurant! I have been there a few different times. Once twice in a week for breakfast while traveling to and from San Fran. The worker actually remembered me and my order! He was so friendly both times. The food was great, I went there for breakfast and the place was clean and updated! Will be back where next time I am in Kettleman City!

This is a clean and revamped Jack In the Box along Interstate 5. It’s always a plus for a restaurant to have clean floors & restrooms with friendly staff. I tried the breakfast pita pocket because they have a big picture of it on the window as you go into the Jack in the Box. With minimal calories, egg, ham and hickory smoked bacon, this pita was delicious. The kids had their French toast sticks and my wife her breakfast sandwich. I enjoy this Jack in the Box for breakfast on our long trips between northern and southern Cali.
