Slowest in n out EVER. 5 cars through the drive thru takes 25 minutes. Literally. Tastes like any other in n out but the long wait makes me not wanna stop here

Just a quick note from a VERY satisfied customer. Thank you for the nourishing food and amazing service, above and beyond all expectations. We usually enjoy our visits to your restaurants, but this time I was overwhelmed with satisfaction and admiration for those who took such good care of our needs. It was random Tuesday and there we were, weary travelers late in the night(or was it early in the morning?). We were hungry, tired and needing to use the bathroom. The VERY late night crew of In-N-Out Burger Kettlemen City welcomed us, fed us and comforted us with such gracious and genuine service, without exaggeration nor a hind of arrogance. We arrived 8 minutes before closing, yet they were highly attentive and did not rush us in any way. My heart was filled with joy by their warm welcome, my body rejuvenated by the food and my spirit uplifted by their gracious and meticulous care. We used a coupon, which meant we did not even pay for the food they provided. Their respectful demeanor, not over-the-top, but honest and diligent was refreshing. To them we may have been«just another couple of late-night customers», but to us, we found comfort in the middle of a LONG and arduous road(figuratively and literally). Our experience was uplifting and we completed our journey safe and sound. Now, I am not dramatically enhancing, nor spinning an embellished tale of a life-changing events… For goodness sake, it was only a burger meal! But this WAS a meaningful experience. It was a pleasant human interaction, a fleeting moment amidst many others(some good, some not so thrilling), all part of an important chapter of my life. For that I am grateful. Thank you, Francisco and the rest of the crew of Kettleman City In-n-out Burger.(sorry, but his is the only name in the receipt; others, anonymous to us, but just as meaningful to the experience).

Came here a good couple times on my way to SF, and this is a really busy stop. Everyone seems to stop in Kettleman City while traveling through. No matter the time it will most likely be packed as I’ve seen it been. They have a decent sized lot, the place is clean, and service is friendly. The food… it’s In-N-Out, expect the same quality and taste as other locations! Definitely a crowded spot as I mentioned but quality and the wait are not sacrificed.

Like nirvana on the I-5, this In-N-Out is the one rest stop to fuel up for the drive up to the bay. I don’t know about you, but as a Socal resident, I can’t help but gravitate towards In-N-Out as my fast food burger stop. Thus when I saw that Kettleman City was so gracious to offer this delicacy in the middle of nowhere, I knew this would forever be my default rest stop.(Not to mention Bravo Farms with such an eclectic collection of munchies and merchandise.) Parking is plentiful, and even if you can’t find any, just go park at the McDonalds right next to it.(A lot of people park there for the public restroom anyway.) I actually parked there because I wanted to use the public restroom first. Then saunter your way down a small hill and you’ll find yourself at In-N-Out. I went during lunch hours, which I presume is anywhere between 11 – 2, so the line was kind of long. Not long enough that it was out the door, but actually by the time I had ordered, the line went out the door. I had to sit outside since the indoor seating was all taken by ravenous, SUV-full families and the odd couple. Me by my lonesome self grabbed my burger and ate in the comfort of my car with NPR serenading me in the background. With sound body and mind, I ventured back on the road for the second half of that wonderful drive.

No sense reviewing In-N-Out since we all know it’s excellent! This place is a complete zoo though. There are so many people here on busy commute days from SF to LA and LA to SF. It’s truly amazing how many people want a good hamburger! Worth the wait though — In-N-Out never disappoints!

Whether it’s traveling down the 5 towards the sunny beaches or up towards the comforting foggy bay, I stop here for a quick bite to eat and a chance to reenergize before hopping back onto the freeway. As with the other restaurants and gas stations, In N Out is located just off the freeway. The service and quality of food I received here is consistent with other In N Out locations. Since the restaurant is located just off the freeway, it gets extremely crowded. Although it is busy, the employees are friendly and efficient. I got my order of fries, hamburger, and Neapolitan shake in a timely manner. A plus for this location specifically is the large number of stalls in the well stocked bathroom. Sounds silly but when you’ve been on the road for 4+ hours, not having to wait for a stall is the best thing.

Line all around the inside and out the door. Drive thru wasn’t too bad so we went back out and drove thru then ate in the parking lot in our car. If this isn’t the busiest restaurant of the chain I would be surprised! There are 100’s of people here. We aren’t the only people that love In-n-Out! The cheeseburger was perfect as always. Animal style with fries and hot chilies. Diet Coke. You just can’t find a better cheeseburger combo for under $ 10.00 than In-n-Out

The In-N-Out is my go to, whenever I am traveling from SoCal to NorCal or vice versa. Everyone knows about the«Kettleman In-N-Out». This location is just like any other, very busy, but quick staff and great food. The restaurant is kept pretty keep inside and out. What’s nice, is that the place is surrounded by grass, so a perfect place for people with dogs to take a potty break. That being said, the grass surrounding In-N-Out has a bunch of poop every where so beware!

This In-N-Out is just at Exit 41 just East of the I-5 Freeway in Kettleman City midway between Sacramento and Los Angeles. While the classic In-N-Out sign is highly visible off the freeway, once you exit it’s a little tricky to figure out how to actually get into the parking lot. The trick is to turn right on Ward Drive, then another right on Bernard(at Bravo Farms). Turn into the parking lot off Bernard Drive. I like to stop here when I drive from Bakersfield to San Francisco to visit my brother. It’s located at just the right driving interval where I get cravings to eat, drink, and/or fill up my car(being merry is kind of a given). The restrooms are always clean, large, with 4 stalls. There is a sign with an arrow directing one around a corner to an additional 4 stalls. There is plenty of outdoor seating shaded by umbrellas or gazebo, but I’m usually just using this for a restroom spot and taking my burger and fries to go. The creative geniuses behind In-N-Out Burger must subscribe to the acronym KISS(Keep It Simple Stupid) because there are relatively few options offered on the menu(though if one is hip to the existence of the secret menu the options are nearly limitless). They offer hamburgers, cheeseburgers and double cheeseburgers, fries, drinks, and milkshakes. The simplicity of the menu and ease of preparation of the items on it must help to keep the lines moving because no matter how long the lines get I’m always able to get my food and get back out on the road quickly, which is critical when one is trying to make good time on a road trip. My usual order is a hamburger, protein style(in a lettuce wrap instead of a bun) ketchup instead(of the sauce) with onions. I get a side of fries(what is it about those In-N-Out fries that calls to me so saucily?) and a diet soda. It’s just the perfect combination of taste and texture(warm beef and cool crisp lettuce) and they serve it in a little open topped cardboard box that makes it easy to keep all the fries corralled on your lap while you eat! In-N-Out, I think I might be infatuated with you!

Kettleman City, the usual pitstop place whenever HAPA Boy & I are making the I-5 drive either going or coming between LA and the SF Bay Area. The HAPA — If I’m not getting gas @ the Chevron just next door, I’m getting dinner(or breakfast), at In-N-Out… ‘And here we were again! If you happen to miss this particular stop on your road trip, not to fret, In-N-Out, will keep you company on the drive. If you’ve ever made the I-5 drive you can’t miss the fast food regulars, In-N-Out, McDonald’s, and Taco Bell. You’ll see some Carl’s, Jack’s and even Burger Kings but the the previously mentioned are the big three, they OWN the I-5 drive. Photo — There’s nothing new to report — Same tasty food, good service, and as always, a great value. I tell people that In-N-Out is the place to go for a basic, solid burger. If you want a BBQ something, an avocado whatchamacallit, or a «Secret Sauce,» keep driving. ‘Of the numerous times & different In-N-Out locations I’ve been to, for the most part the service has always been friendly, professional, & accommodating. If you love the«everything piled on except the kitchen sink» kinda burger, In-N-Out is NOT the place. On occasion, I do love me a gourmet burger w/all the extras but I can also appreciate a basic, great tasting, quality burger.(There’s a reason why there’s no $ 1 value menu here.) *Some places definition of a gourmet burger: A beef patty buried under a pile of condiments/toppings AND if you’re lucky, you just might be able to actually taste the«burger.» It’s like someone’s first run through the buffet line, «EVERYTHING on the plate!»(Ex: Slater’s 50⁄50; The Habit; Umami Burger) In-N-Out sticks to the solid basics… 100% pure American beef.(No additives, fillers or preservatives.) If you’re looking for a classically made burger, «In-N-Out» is THE place. However, they do offer a few off-menu options but their forte is the basic burger. Make no mistake, «basic» does not mean boring or there’s skimping of any kind, it’s all about quality @ In-N-Out… ‘And they serve it up right! When I lived in the OC up until just last year, I’d make frequent road trips to the SF Bay Area, and In-N-Out was a mandatory pitstop. It was nice knowing that I can find them peppered throughout my BART.(Bay Area Road Trip) However, it wasn’t not until I was back on the road one evening and was quickly reminded, THISISNOTTHEBURGERTOEAT&DRIVEWITH. One hand on the wheel, the other on my Double-double, a box of fries in my lap, as the burger condiments began raining down on me and my seat… ‘Lesson learned. HAPA, my bully-pit, looks forward to the road trips as well. After all what dog doesn’t like a good hamburger. I usually get him a Double-double, minus the bun, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and sauces. If you travel with your dogs, you can ask for a basic, patty, no added salt… It’s perfect for your car traveling companion. ‘Every now & then, it’s always good to get back to basics… ‘Like a solid, unadulterated burger.(More so if it’s done well!) Mahalo, In-N-Out for staying true to form. — Big Aloha! Food: 5 Ambiance: 3+ Service: 4 Value: 5

The In-N-Out Burger in Kettleman City still stands as one of the most iconic locations. I can remember when this was the northern most outpost heading south on Interstate 5, and even though the chain has expanded throughout California, this location is still very convenient for travelers. The biggest downside to this location is the sheer chaos of so many travelers. The drive through can easily wind around the corner with equally long lines inside. During peak times, the restrooms can get a little funky, but you are here for some awesome burgers. On my trip, I opted for a strawberry milkshake instead of fries which was a great sweet compliment to my standard Double-Double. There are many other options in Kettleman City these days, and quite frankly I recommend using Highway 101 or 99 instead to head south for better options and scenery. For those wanting to fight trucks and endless almond orchards along Interstate 5, the Kettleman City In-N-Out remains a solid option for everyone.

In n Out Kettleman city so goooood, and definitely a life-saver. By now, the secret is out — Kettleman City is a perfect place to stop, refuel, and grab a bite to eat if you are making the NorCal-SoCal car ride. Stopped by here on a Sat afternoon after Thanksgiving, and the line was crazy — out the door and then some. Took almost 20 minutes to get to the front, but once our number was called and I could see the juicy burgers and crisp fries, all was better. Because this spot is so busy during the lunch rush, the dining area is crowded, chaotic, and a bit unclean. You have to appreciate the In n Out staff for doing their best since the place is like a mad house, but when you have families huddling around like vultures waiting to scoop a seat from you, it’s a bit more difficult to sit and enjoy your meal after being in the car for hours…

When you’ve been on the road for 3+ hours and all you’ve been eating is junk food and drinking sodas the last thing you want is fast food. You want a hot meal and then hopefully if you’re not driving, you want to pass out so that you can regain some strength in your limp lethargic body that’s been folded into a tetris shape from the car-ride. Well if you’re on a road trip another problem is that you don’t want to stay on the road longer than you have to. You want to reach your destination right? So… despite not wanting to eat fast food, In-N-Out to the rescue. Sure it’s a hamburger but Kettleman INO has it right. THey take time to make sure your burger is made neatly which has a direct correlation to how good it tastes because you’re getting the right ratio of your insides in every bite and contributes to your overall happiness. So that’s why this location is almost always busy(in the middle of nowhere) when I stop in, they take the time to make sure each burger is prepared as it was intended so that I can regain my strength… maybe hit a starbucks and get through the rest of my drive to my destination. Woot!

Oh my gosh I love this place. Came to this place multiple times and it was the best decision that I made after two of my trips to Southern California. The first time I came here was with my mom and when we arrived this place was packed but worth it. We decided not to dine in bcausemy back then my gramps and my ex aunt was in a Panda Express nearby. When we went to the drive through there was about 10 – 20 cars in front of me. It’s okay because good things come to those who wait l. The second time was when was riding a tour bus to LA. The driver was nice enough to stop in the eatery area for 30 minutes before we set off on our journey. For the quality I must say it was the best I ever had. There are In N Outs in my county but none of them ever measure up to this place.

1) It’s In-N-Out. 2) It’s the perfect midway point for getting gas on the 5(assuming you’re headed between anywhere in the bay & anywhere around LA) 3) Driving on the 5 is SUPERBORING I could’ve stopped after my first point, nobody really needs a REASON for stopping by In-N-Out, the name speaks for itself! I live out of state the majority of the year and I’m pretty sure that ALL my fellow former Californians would kill for one of these to open up in the Northeast. I had been back in the state a couple days before stopping by for all 3 reasons above, it happened to be a little past midnight. We ordered, sat, waited, the usual. Maybe it’s because it was late, but this burger was a HUGE disappointment. The bun tasted stale-ish, and everything in the middle just lacked that ‘hot, fresh, & juicy’ taste that I’ve come to expect from this chain. The fries were either overcooked(wasn’t feelin’ the well-done version that night) or they had been sitting out too long, which wouldn’t really make sense because there was still a line despite the late hour! I love this chain, and usually this location(despite the daytime heat + crowds), but this visit was a memorable let-down. If you DO stop by, and you most definitely will, remember that there are extra restrooms around the corner! :)

So, as far as the food goes, this is a standard In-N-Out. Get everything animal style on animal style on animal style. Just live it up, y’all. What makes this branch kind of extraordinary is that it is always absolutely totally impossible crowded, and the staff never seems correspondingly stressed. The fact that they deal with literally hundreds of grumpy/tired/hungry/smelly travelers all day and still manage an upbeat«Can I help the next customer, please?» is truly proof that there are people a million times better than me in this world. And, despite the outrageous number of people that will be ahead of you in line, it doesn’t take that long to get your food once you’ve ordered. There’s ample outdoor seating, most of it does not have shade by the afternoon though. My only gripe with this location is the entrance. You have to drive around the McDonald’s and gas station after you exit the freeway and then around another corner, and it is not very intuitive. Especially when you’ve been driving for 107 hours and are hungry and tired and just want a burger goshdarnit. But then you get a Neapolitan shake and everything is good.

I would argue this is the *perfect* location to have an In-N-Out on I-5. It’s pretty much equidistant(equi-time?) between the Bay Area and Los Angeles, so if you’re going to stop, you might as well do it here. We arrived around 8pm(coming up from LA), and opted to eat inside since we wanted to get protein style. The shop itself wasn’t very crowded, and ordering was very fast, but we ended up having to wait quite a while(15+ minutes) before the food came out. I somewhat wish we had gone with drive-thru instead, because I swear they were constantly pumping out orders like no other for their in-car customers, whist dine-in orders came out in sporadic waves. I don’t think the burgers themselves are necessarily better here than at any other location, but after driving for so many hours, In-N-Out really hits the spot. You just enjoy its consistent and dependable savory goodness so much more after who-knows-how-many hours of I-5 monotony.

Ah yes, Kettleman City, the great«middle of I-5 gathering place.» I’ve been stopping here on road trips to SF since I was a little kid and the place has hardly changed at all. I’m pretty sure the town revolves around this In-N-Out, like probably 80% of the town’s income and employment. Anyway, it’s as good as any other In-N-Out, and that yellow arrow is always a welcome sight after 3 hours of mindless driving. Thought of the day: Well-done In-N-Out fries are 10x better than the default. Why are the default fries limp and undercooked?

The best thing about driving between No Cal and So Cal is this In-N-Out Burger in Kettleman City. Sorry. I lied. The only good thing about driving between No Cal and So Cal is this In-N-Out Burger in Kettleman City. Recovery from the monotony of traveling through central California is an easy 12-step program of guiding principles and actions for rehabilitation from boredom, drowsiness, and small bladders. 1. Jump off the I-5 2. Pull into the huge parking lot 3. Get in line 4. Order a Double Double Animal Style 5. Add Fries Well Done 6. Hit the restroom 7. Grab a seat … in or out 8. Wait about 20 minutes 9. Pick up your burger & fries when your number is called 10. Enjoy the In-N-Out goodness. 11. Head out and do a u-turn on CA-41 12. Get back on the I-5 … ready for the 2nd half of your trip
