Sometimes its good sometimes its not. Im talking on the food itself. I recently ate there 2 weeks ago and the food was amazing. I went back there on super bowl and it wasnt so good, the noodles were undercooked which ruined the aroma… This is why I knocked off 1 star, But they have an amazing and accommodating staff. I would eat there again due to the girls. They are very sweet. ANd I know the cook that night sucked, because the food is very tasty(normally)

This was my first visit to Dai Ichi Ramen. The menu has a good variety of ramen/udon choices, curry’s and sides. I ordered the Wun Tun ramen with a side of the gyoza and croquettes and all items were«very good.» The crowd was light since it was the beginning of the lunch period. Overall I really like the place and atmosphere.

My BF likes to come here on a regular basis whether it’s this location or the Ewa location. Parking is available, it can be hard if it’s a Friday night or weekend. Most times when we go there is no wait. The Kapolei location seems a little smaller in space than the Ewa location but the restaurant is clean and well lit. I can vary from ordering the Ramen Combo with either 1 choice or 2 choice. Udon noodles is also available. I like the Shio ramen combined with the fried rice and spam katsu(I have somewhat developed a spam infatuation over the past year). The ramen comes out steamy and hot. Udon noodles seem more softer than their regular ramen noodles. I wish they would put a little more extra char siu and fishcake since the noodles overpower everything else. Spam katsu is crispy. I put the shichimi seasoning and dried garlic on my rice… gives it an extra kick! The BF always gets the chicken katsu curry with shrimp fried rice. The portion for this is prettt good and could feed 2 people. You can also request the katsu to be on the side if you don’t want your rice smothered with katsu sauce. Katsu is crispy and with a good amount of chicken. The waiters/servers pack your food in front of you. Prices are pretty decent and service is fast. :)

Chinese owned ramen house that served udon or ramen. I am a fan. Wish more ramen restaurants gave you the option to pick udon or ramen. We had lunch before visiting the lagoons in Kapolei and it seemed pretty busy at 12pm. Friendly staff that refilled your glasses frequently and took time to check on you was very nice. I will be back!

Came here for some takeaway. Was not disappointed. My wife got the chicken katsu miso ramen, and I got the chicken katsu curry. We got it during the happy hour to our surprise, and came away with free gyoza just for being at happy hour! Its from 230 to 530PM. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent ramen. I had the tonkotsu which is a pork bone broth and it was amazing. Full of flavor! My husband had the spicy beef ramen also delicious! Also the service was great, we did not know what a lot of things on the menu were and the waitress spent the time to explain everything with a sweet smile and really walked u through. Yummy and will always come Back when on the island.

With so little ramen shops in the Bay Area, it is good to know that when going home, there are tons. I decided to get dinner here prior to going to a movie during my stay at the Auiani. I had the tonkotsu ramen and got the free gyoza as it was during their happy hour. The tonkotsu broth was savory and rich. The texture of the noodles were tender and not over cooked. What the ramen needed though was more char sui and vegetables. The regular size was enough to fill me and tide me over till the next day.

We were staying at Aulani where the dining choices are limited. Felt like eating ramen and found this place on Unilocal. The food is good here. I had the Kimchi ramen and my wife had a combo ramen. The prices are reasonable.

We wanted ramen, so we thought we’d give this place a try. Definitely would recommend! The broth in the tan tan ramen was fantastic. We also got the yakiudon(stir fried udon noodles) and the portion was huge. The food was super affordable, delicious, and came out quickly with good service. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating of one person’s no-pork requirements. Definitely would recommend!

I live in the mainland and I still dream of coming back to Hawaii for the most delicious bowl is ramen I’ve ever had! My wife and loved her meal too. It has ruined all the other ramen places I’ve been to since. The broth is really hearty! I still remember they had a sign up saying they boil they meat /bone stock over 24 hours. I believe it! So much flavor! My memory is hazy because it’s been a few years. Im not sure i ordered anything else to base my review. I’m basing my review on the superbowl — their largest size. The noodles also had good flavor and texture. Hmm. I’m so hungry

Saw Unilocal reviews and we were craving ramen. We’re staying at Aulani and we didn’t want to drive all the way to Honolulu just for ramen. Plus the traffic coming back towards Aulani is hectic. It’s in a shopping center with food mart grocery store. Very nice location. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and asked for crushed garlic or garlic paste. It came with gyoza. So much food. It was very good. The gyoza is so so. My girls ordered the mini ramen with mochi chicken and gyoza. Hubby ordered the chashu ramen. He said noodles was cooked perfect not over cooked and I agree. He also ordered a plate of beef curry. The curry was delicious. The beef had big chunks of beef chuck and some had the fat which I like. Our waitress did mention that the tonkotsu has some kind of peanut ingriedient in it if that was ok. One of my twin is severely allergic to peanuts and tree nuts so I made sure she didn’t eat my ramen. She was fine. I would recommend the tonkotsu and chashu ramen and the beef curry. Service was excellent. The waitresses working here are Chinese cuz they were speaking mandarin dialect. This place was hopping.

I absolutely love this place! The food is on point Although the space is limited, the service is wonderful and we didn’t wait very long for our order. The workers are so kind and they greet you with a smile! It gets crowded quick, so you may have to wait, but it is worth it. The serving portion is very generous, so you really get your money’s worth. Parking is tight and parking lot traffic is usually busy, especially around dinner time. It’s located near a foodland and is surrounded by other restaurants, so you can expect a lot of people. Basically, the parking lot sucks. BUT if you love some good ramen and/or curry for that matter, I highly suggest this place. We ordered the Curry Udon with chicken katsu and the Curry Ramen with shrimp katsu with a side of gyoza. It.was. DELICIOUS!

Located in kapolei parkway in the foodland shopping center. Lots of parking. Nice décor with of course an Asian theme. Staff was attentive and prompt with our order. Food came out very fast and water always full. Their Tan Tan ramen was supah good, the same goes for the fried rice. Was surprised how tasty fried was! Gyoza was steamed to perfection. Overall the restaurant looked clean and organized. The only problem I had was the bathroom. Since it was shared by both male and females, someone should do bathroom checks. The trash was full and needed a cleaning. Other than that coming back.

My wife went to Daiichi Ramen in Kapolei, but left in tears because of their customer service. Others arrived after her and ordered their meals and left before my wife. She questioned why it was taking long and the lady behind the counter gave her a snob remark. When the order was finally served they plopped it on the counter. Your food maybe good, but your customer respect needs work. Avoid this place until training to respect customers is conducted. September 2015!!!

This review is purely on customer service. The closing manager(I’m assuming she was the manager because she was counting the closing register) was rude and unfriendly. My friend and I decided to settle down here for dinner since it was 9:30 and they close at 10. As soon as we walked in there was no greeting but a snob and scoff from a lady fixing the chopsticks on the side table. She didn’t ask«how many» so I blurted out«for two». I couldn’t believe that before she seated us she asked her co worker what time it was, her co worker replied«9:30». She rudely pointed to the table next to her and said«sit here». Within five mins of received our food she hands us our check. Rush much? While we were up at the counter to pay the manager doesn’t make any eye contact and rudely says, «next time come in earlier. not near closing time». I was beyond shocked and speechless. I mean… what do you say to that? Anyways, the entire staff of closing waitress’ that night seemed like they hated their job, especially the manager. Maybe they were tired of being surrounded by ramen noodles and gyoza. I personally would love it. If I could give them 0 stars I totally would. On a happier note, their food is pretty good.

Gross :(I’m really sad to have to write this review because I love the food there. However, the last two times I visited I noticed they have a bug problem. First time it was a roach. I was sitting at counter that faces glass dividing dining area from kitchen. The roach was on the kitchen side. I thought, Crap, I love eating here but now I’m grossed out. The other ramen place in Kapolei is always busy so after a few months decided to give them one more chance. I made sure I wasn’t sitting at the counter this time. Food was good as usual… Then I went into the bathroom, which is next to kitchen. All these little black things were flying around … little flies about 30 of them. If it was just one time, one type of bug I could handle it but twice, roaches and flies … and right next to kitchen. Somebody is not taking care to keep the place clean. I can’t imagine what might be in the kitchen. I really hope they clean up their act, literally.

For only about $ 10 you get so much food! Lots of tasty carbs round out the meal and it’s awesome if you’re a carb lover like me. I opted for the combination. You get to choose a ramen(75 cents more to make it tan tan) and two other dishes. I chose tan tan ramen, curry rice, and mochiko chicken. The curry rice is not vegetarian. It is beef based. The interesting thing was that there is no meat in it. It just has carrots and potatoes. I enjoyed the mochiko chicken. It was tasty and well made. The tan tan broth was great! It could have been a little deeper in depth of flavor, but it still had a lot going for it and I would definitely get it again. I loved how they are not stingy with the noodles or rice and you get so much! My favorite was the garlic! There’s a little container on the side of the table labeled«Garlic.» It’s amazing! It’s like someone made garlic chips and crushed them. I love garlic and it went so well with everything! One thing that stood out for me was how clean this place is! Granted it opened just a short time ago, but it was refreshing not seeing layers of dust or dirt on the ceiling, walls, or crevices. Service was on point with regular check ups on our table. Parking is located right in front. Daiichi Ramen offers good value for your money!

this location is really close to Ko’Olina. We stayed at aulani so this was about 10−15min away from us. We came here for lunch and I ordered the Tan Tan Ramen. They have combo meals where you can order a mini size ramen(choice of: miso, shoyo, and shio broth) with a choice side for $ 7 or two sides for $ 9. I figured like all other ramen places I’ve been to, portions are quite small. So I got the mini size tan tan ramen(oh and it’s 75cents extra if u choose a special flavor broth) with two choices: fish katsu and mochiko chicken. AND I ordered extra noodles for $ 1 something. When the bowl of ramen came out it was HUGE. I think it was bigger than regular size portion ramen. It was filled with noodles(YUM!). the noodles were cooked perfectly and had the bouncey chewiness. LOVE! The tan tan ramen broth is a little nutty(had a hint of peanut flavor) nonetheless it was flavorful and strong. The fish katsu and the mochiko chicken did not disappoint either. Both sides were good. The fish katsu was crispy; the chicken were meaty. Eric L’s bowl of ramen(regular size) had a good amount of noodle. He ordered the Zansai Ramen and to me it tasted like the Asian satay /bbq sauce where you use as a sauce for hot pot. Noodles here are good, generous portion for the price you pay — you are guaranteed to be full. Get the set if you’re hungry and order extra noodle. I think it’s worth it than just ordering a regular bowl of ramen only. I definitely would go back to Daiichi again.
