The workers here are always so nice and attentive and the food is always on point. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Hands down the service here is great. The staff is always fast and friendly. The portions are pretty good too. Today I ordered take out. I got the chicken cutlet with spinach curry and sides of shumai, gyoza and curry croquette. I gotta be honest though — although the curry is good here, I prefer Ramen-Ya Kapolei’s curry over this one. I guess, to me, the curry is thicker and richer at Ramen-Ya and the chicken katsu is flavorful even on its own. Today the katsu here was flavorless. I tasted no hint of seasoning, just pure oil. The gyoza was just meh too. For some reason it tasted like burnt plastic. It kind of left a weird aftertaste. I still ate the curry with spinach because, like I said, I do think it’s good, but I tossed the katsu and threw the croquettes in there instead(i’m glad that they separate the curry in the take out containers). The croquettes and shumai were really good. I got full off of the croquettes and curry and 1 piece of shumai and ended up saving the rest of the shumai for my son. I really wanted to be blown away with the food, especially since i’ve been craving and wanting to come here for weeks now. I hate that I can’t be more excited about the food today. But well, it is what it is. Still a great place and i’m not ruling it out. Maybe i’ll try other menu items next time. :)

This is the chain in Japan, and had it, gotta say it was life changing. I compare every chicken katsu curry I ever have to what I have eaten here. Ordered the chicken katsu curry with cheese, winnah winnah chicken dinnah! Every morsel in every bite is to live for. I can’t imagine a heaven without this curry! The service here is always helpful and friendly, cash only!

We go to this location instead of the Pearl Kai location. We just feel that it’s less busy every time we decide to go. Staff is really friendly and place is very clean. There is usually a lot of parking near the restaurant. Food is always on point!

I heard really good things about this place and so this Friday I finally went with my family of 5 and we put our name down on the waitlist. They told us they just had to clear a table and then we could sit so we stepped outside to wait so other people could sign in. They cleared the table and I guess a guy that wasn’t the host sat the party that was after us. We waited a minute outside for someone to tell us and you could see the host and the guy who sat them talking about the waitlist. But still no one had the courtesy to go outside and tell us what had happened. so we walked in and asked to take our name off the list because we were before those other people and all the guy said was ‘oh sorry I know. We’re so sorry.’ So we went next door to daiichi. We wouldn’t have minded so much if someone came out to tell us what happened. But instead they pretended like they didn’t notice and expected us to wait outside for 20 more minutes for another seat. I wouldn’t try eating here again.

According to my husband, this is a very popular chain in Japan and I can see why. Curry is comfort food for the soul, and this place makes curry like my mother in law(who is from Japan) and makes it from scratch with beef bones. I got the shabu curry with spinach. Very delicious cuts of beef doused in warm and savory curry over rice. I recommend this dish and it was incredibly filing. Husband had mapo tofu udon and it was also very delicious. I don’t know why I never thought of these two combinations, but it was pretty ingenious. The creamy corn croquettes were the show stopper, though. Definitely get these! Great service from a friendly staff with quick service. Highly recommended!

Curry House CoCo Ichibanya is my all time favorite place for Japanese Curry! The prices are great as well, especially for a post college student! There are a variety of choices from meat eaters, to fish friendly, to vegetarian friendly(although not to sure if the curry itself is meat based) The curry spiciness ranges from mild to spicy. I enjoy this shop better than the one in Aiea, only because it doesn’t smell like the sear once you walk outside. This location is amazingly clean, since of course its pretty new. Their service is always amazing! It seems like they have a routine to go to each table every 15 – 20 minutes(well it seemed like that anyway) Of all the times I’ve been to this location me and my party would never wait more that 10 minutes for a table. I highly recommend this place if your craving curry or curry udon!

This is my favorite curry house location. The food is the same as the other locations. But I like this location better for a couple of reasons. One, it’s never too busy. The longest we’ve every waited was 10 mins. And two, the service is on point all the time. The waiters we’ve had so far were all extremely nice and attentive. If you don’t have cash on you, there is an ATM in Foodland.

After an early afternoon doctor’s visit, my wife and I were hunting for a late lunch in Kapolei… checked out Unilocal and Curry House CoCo Ichibanya was highly recommended so off we went to this newish strip mall, anchored by Foodland, off Kapolei Parkway. The place was small and only takes cash, as most reviews established. It was a late lunch so seating wasn’t an issue for us. We were seated promptly and the menus were waiting for us on the table. We opted for the popular choices, starting out with shrimp shumai and ordered the kalbi and fried chicken curry for me with my wife opting for the mabo tofu gyoza curry. The shrimp shumai was good, although we were hoping it came with some kind of dipping sauce like one served with gyoza. Alas, it didn’t, but it was tasty enough. The entrees were served in large portions, with more than enough white rice to satisfy an entire multi-generational Chinese family(why does it have to be a Chinese family… OK, an Asian family then). The curry was flavorful, although it wasn’t as spicy as we thought it would be, even though we ordered spicy instead of mild. My dish was good… but can’t help notice how the«kalbi» was more like bulgogi instead of the typical kalbi(or Korean cut beef short ribs). The cubes of fried chicken paired well with curry. My wife also liked her dish, and we both didn’t finish all the rice served with our orders… just too much white rice. All in all, not a bad experience. Lunch for two was just over $ 20 less tip. This was actually the first Japanese curry restaurant we’ve ever tried and would say we were pleasantly surprised. Maybe this wouldn’t be our last foray into this place.

I love curry house! So happy that they created a location in Kapolei since I used to always visit the Ala moana location. The curry is always yummy and comes in big portions. I recommend this restaurant to all of the curry lovers since there are variety of choices to choose from, way more than Daiichi(which is a few doors down). Workers greet you and escort you to a table immediately. One of the Cons is the fact that you must pay with cash only.

It’s the first time I ate and the curry was mild and flavorful as well as reasonable. mabo tofu curry udon — 4 stars — for $ 8.20, this was labeled best favorite, and it is a unique dish — mabo tofu fused with mild japanese curry sauce, seaweed and udon all in one bowl. This unusual dish was flavorfully delicious and the udon was nice and firm. Sweet pickled garnish is also available to add more flavor. My son had the fried shrimp curry and still wanted more after finishing his plate. We also ordered the Tonkatsu kimchee curry which was another different flavorful dish. service — 4 stars — the waiters were very nice and we could watch the cooks work as the food was served quickly, nice and hot. Luckily as I checked in Unilocal,I saw that they accept only CASH and luckily the nearest ATM is at foodland.

I crave Curry house ALOT! lol It’s cheap and oh so good. My go to meal at curry house is the Chicken Katsu Curry with cheese and a side of kimchee. What i’ve noticed is if you ask for the cheese on the side, you get more! Another item I like is the Shrimp Shumai. So yummy. There are only 2 downfalls to this restaurant in my opinion. First off, they only accept cash. I feel that any business now days(especially a popular restaurant such as this one) should accept cards. It is an inconvenience to have to take out money at an ATM before going. There is one in Foodland though, which is in the same parking lot. The second negative is the wait time for a table. They have very limited seating and it takes a while sometimes. Also, I’ve had bad experiences with take-out orders before. I would highly recommend calling your order in. I made the mistake of going in to order a take-out plate and they took over 20 minutes to make my food. Overall, I’d still return for the great food and good prices!

Seven months after my first review, I have nothing to say except for how this location is STILL the best one I’ve been to so far. The service is great. There’s a sort of sincerity in every server’s voice that is consistently present whenever I come — which is quite often! The food always comes out quickly and, unlike Pearl Kai, they check in on your table to make sure all is well. The food is exactly what you come to CoCo for: amazing, hot, savory curry. I dare to say that, when I get my curry udon, they slip a little extra curry sauce in it than I normally get at Pearl Kai. Not sure if it’s because they know I like extra(I used to order extra sauce), but, either way, this is some great stuff. The parking lot here is also a whole lot more agreeable than the one at Pearl Kai. You’ll have to drive around a bit during dinner time, but the walk doesn’t feel nearly as far. If you’re coming from a halfway point between Aiea and Kapolei and don’t know which to choose, I HIGHLY recommend Kapolei CoCo.

Okay, so I’m always coming back here because I love their food, customer service, & the cleanest of this place. But today, I didn’t enjoy my visit. I’m not sure if that girl with blonde hair(it’s my first time seeing her) thought I cant hear her talking about my order telling her other co-workers«I don’t understand why they didn’t just order this, instead or this» oh, I knew it was us because it was only us in there & we were the only ones that ordered. She made me feel like my order/service didn’t matter. It was a weird feeling, makes me not wanna come back. Sorry ;(

Curry house will never disappoint! I always order the same thing every time, mapo tofu gyoza. I have never noticed before but you are able to order a smaller or larger portion of rice if you ask them. They usually just serve one size but now, they have it on their menu that you are able to choose a smaller or larger portion of rice to our preference depending on how hungry you are. They have all different types of toppings to choose from to add to your curry as well. My favorite is their shrimp shumai. It is only $ 1.80 for 7 pieces! We ended up ordering two orders for just two people! I love how fast and friendly their service is here. Although this location is quite small, they have a counter you can choose to sit at if there are just a couple of you in your party. I highly recommended this place, and I love that there is finally one in Kapolei! I would only take off one star because it is CASHONLY.

WOW! When I lived in Okinawa I use to go to COCO’s at least once a week. I must say it was exactly the same as in Japan! The setting is really nice and clean, just as it should be. The seating is open and every time I have been its never been really that busy, so it seems you can always find seating. If you are a little on the big side the counter will be a «tight» fit. The menu is large, and has TONS of options. You can’t really go wrong, if you really don’t know what you want they have tons of local favorites to choose from. You can choose the amount of rice you want so you can think thin, or go total fat kid. Its curry so I always mark it in my head as «healthy.» At the bottom of the menu you have a large selection of add ons to choose from so you can truly make it your own. The speed and quality is just as I remembered when I was in Okinawa. The staff are really friendly and can help you, if you don’t know what you want. The last thing to remember is ITSCASHONLY! Its great curry at a great price, I always enjoy the experience. Give it a shot I doubt you will be disapointed.

ENDLESS menu. seriously who knew there were that many curry combos possible? You can also add ridiculously cheap sides. Large enough portions that in my case there was enough left over for a 2nd small meal. Friendly staff. Plenty of comfortable seating inside both at the counter or the booths.

I’m not a food snob nor do I have a really distinct and refined palate. I eat junk and fast food(occasionally) just like the next person. So with that preface, I have no shame in eating here. The food here isn’t gourmet or a fusion of any sort — it’s just basic curry(probably pre-packaged and not mixed from scratch — I know, because I make curry from scratch ingredients and my curry tastes nothing like this). Hunger is hunger and when you need something fast and satisfying — I like to go here. Everything on the menu goes well with curry — in fact, it’s the base for all the entrees, rice, curry and your choice of protein or vegetables. You can also order noodles with a curry base, along with your choice of protein and/or veggies. I usually order the mabo tofu curry or the shabu-shabu with spinach — both consistently satisfying. Again, food isn’t bad at all — it’s just one of those things where you know what to expect and you can count on to feed your hunger. We usually have a late lunch, between 1−2pm and I find that this place is usually emptying out. Service is fast, food is piping hot and«fresh» and the price is cheap for eats like this. Eating here is a step above fast food — you already know what to expect, food and service is consistent and hasn’t been a fail thus far. Parking in this area is tight but not impossible(as long as you don’t bring your monster trucks). Lot is shared by grocery store and a multitude of shops and restaurants.
