If you have time to spend this is the best tacos anywhere– always crowded even on Mondays when their closed lol– usually I’m there wondering why I can’t get in!

yuk! Yea, its cheap to eat here, but anyone with a normal taste bud wouldn’t like it. The décor is pretty nice though.

Since moving here I have seen people waiting outside almost every time I’ve past by. Tonight the hubby and I decided to give it a try. The ambiance was nice. Got there early enough to only wait 10 minutes for a table. So we ordered a couple diff tacos and honestly they were marginal at best. The food wasn’t hot when we got it and the flavor was ok. They have an extensive tequila menu maybe that’s why it’s so busy.

Absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere! Good drinks! Food is amazing! Happy hour and brunch Saturday and Sunday with awesome drink specials and some interesting morning taco creations. Service is always on point. We always check in on the no wait app so that when we get here our wait is much shorter even though this place is definitely worth the wait. Tacos are mostly alacarte which gives you the option to the more. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area. Don’t want to miss this place!

I’ve been here several times and continue to be underwhelmed. The street corn is amazing as well as the sopapilla but everything else is just kinda meh. The service is super spotty, however I will say that I love they have blankets/heaters on the patio. I love the décor and I really wish I loved the food but it’s just not there for me.

One of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Taco Lu is more Baja than traditional Mexican and it’s amazing. The tacos are the best — I get them every time I eat here. The biggest downside here is the wait for a table. Arrive early and be prepared to wait. It is totally worth it though!

I love TacoLu. They have fantastic tacos and a great atmosphere. If you are there for conversation though, ask for seating somewhere other than the bar. It can get very noisy in the bar.

The food was ok but not authentic. The margarita was in a small glass and was one of the worst I’ve had in area restaurants. The guacamole was fresh and excellent. The atmosphere was very good. I don’t see what all the fuss is about this place.

Great food and fast service. You can get very authentic mexican food or more americanized fare. Love the complimentary valet parking and the staff is always nice. Stop here every time I’m in the area.

Quirky, eclectic, fun! Definitely my favorite taco joint in town. But be warned you’ll have a wait time in the weekends… Let’s start with the good: the tacos are DELICIOUS. Go for the tuna taco and blackened scallop taco if they’re still a special when you’re there. They’re so freaking delicious it’s insane. This place is huge, and it can get a little loud. So if that’s a turn off for you, go for lunch instead of dinner for a less hectic atmosphere. Now on to the not so good… I so badly want to give this little gem 5-stars but for a couple minor reasons I had to knock it down to 4. For starters, they only have Dos Equis on draft, their lager and their Amber. Sort of strange to me because draft beer and tacos go hand and hand to me, so why limit it to Dos Equis??? But hey, it’s whatever. The second reason that led me to drop down the rating was the guacamole. I’m a huge huge fan of guac. And this guac was sadly nothing special. It was okay, not great. When I think of authentic guac I sort of have expectations of chunks of jalapeño, garlic, diced cilantro and lots of fresh lime. But instead it was just a bowl of mixed green mush with no distinctive ingredients left in chunks. Hey, it was still good. You can never go wrong with avocados but I wish it had more of that fresh authentic style of whole ingredients instead of a blend. Yuh know what I mean? With that said. The tacos are freaking delicious. And so I will most certainly be back. The atmosphere is quirky and cool and overall, yes– I’m a fan.

This place is popular. Sometimes a bit too popular. But it’s a solid place to park it for a couple hours and soak it in. They serve tacos– and they’re good– they suffer from volume/quality; meaning that when they’re slammed and when you get your tacos, there will probably be some cold tortillas, there will probably be some lukewarm fillings. It sucks– but they haven’t mastered the art of the rush. Overall; the flavors are good and the prices are reasonable. Banging Dilla is a personal favorite. Stacked enchiladas are tasty, queso is solid, street corn is delish. Margaritas are bomb, canned tecate, enjoy.

When I went to visit Jacksonville my brother recommended TacoLu, I soon came to realize why. The atmosphere of the restaurant fit the profile perfectly, a friendly place to get good grub with friends and family. Our server was great and very attentive always refilling the complimentary chips and salsa(which were delicious). I ordered the Carnitas and the Debs Verde taco. The carnitas was good but, not my favorite, however the Debs verde was out of this world. The chicken was super tender and almost melted in your mouth and the verde sauce gave it that little kick. Overall this will definitely be my go to spot in Jacksonville and is one of the best taco places I’ve ever been to.

My friend took me here for lunch because she loves this place. The place was packed and the wait was 20 – 30 minutes which we didn’t mind, typical Saturday. We started off with their chips and salsa. Their salsa was pretty good! Our waiter was nice and attentive. Atmosphere of the restaurant is good, matches well with the decorations and theme of the restaurant. Now about the food. My friend recommended the Bangin Shimp and that was delicious! You should definitely get that. My second taco was the Carne Asada taco which was pretty good too, meat wasn’t dry and the lime went well with the taco. I also decided to get the cilantro-spinach rice side because I had a craving for cilantro rice. Do not get this. You would think that since it is presented as super green rice it would be packed with flavor… It was one of the blandest cilantro rice I have tasted. Had no flavor whatsoever so I had to soak it with lime and hot sauce in order to be somewhat edible. Also, the rice was super mushy. It was a disappointment and I could have told my waiter but he was busy with other tables so I just let it go. Overall, I think the place is overhyped but still pretty good tacos(the two I had at least). Didn’t get the drinks because I’m not much of a drinker. And the service was good.

This place was recommended to me by a friend. I had high expectations the way he talked about it, but was extremely disappointed. We started off with guac, salsa and chips. I thought their guac was very bland, I wonder if it was just avocado mashed up. The salsa was nothing special either. I ordered, The Carnitas with the beef brisket, The $ 10 Taco and The Verde. The Carnitas had a dressing on it that was not enjoyable at all, The Verde I couldn’t even eat because I didn’t like it at all I gave it to my bf to eat, surprisingly he didn’t mind it. The $ 10 Taco was probably my favorite, but I still didn’t enjoy it. I think the reason I didn’t enjoy the food was because all the meat was very dry, and they put way too much dressing on the tacos. On the more positive side, employees were very friendly, our waiter Spencer was very nice and the place has a parking lot. If you are looking for valet they have it.

Tasty, original, delicious, juicy tenderloin tacos with mango salsa and that creamy decadent French cheese? What? I’m in heaven… Delicious Mexican food IS possible outside of California! But alas, the dream was all too short-lived. Nothing else that we’ve ever ordered there even comes close to those Mexican-inspired heaps of ambrosia from the culinary gods south of the border… Boo– hoo… I think they should just sell those tacos and margaritas, and be done with it… ;) Too crowded — always — which helps make the staff take you for granted… there’s another paying customer at the next table so, gimme my tip, and ba-bye!!! Adiós, amigo: I ain’t going back… Trying to duplicate those tacos at home, though…

Taco Lu is addicting! I have been going here since 2011 when it was at the old location. They moved down the street and expanded. It has much more room but it is still busy every night. The atmosphere is cool. They have a nice bar with a large variety of Tequila. When you sit down they give you a basket of chips and salsa. It’s unlimited. The chips go perfectly with queso! My favorite is the Carne Royale taco. It used to not be on the menu(only the locals knew) but then added. It is steak with grape salsa and Brie cheese. Don’t let the combination discourage you from ordering it. It is a burst of flavor! Other favorites are the Carnitas which is pulled pork braised in Coca Cola. Bangin Shrimp which is shrimp that’s fried in a spicy Asian sauce. Any fresh seafood specials are delicious too! And the Taco Lu salad with a side of shrimp is tasty. Try this place. It’s not your average Taco joint!

This trendy restaurant is on Beach Blvd at Jacksonville Beach. The motif in the restaurant is sugar skulls which give it a very festive and being in Mexico feeling. The tacos are excellent. This is an A La Carte type restaurant. It’s a little pricey in my opinion but the food and the atmosphere make it worth an occasional visit. People seem to love it. The parking lot is always full with free valet parking a must. They have a full bar. Their sangria is delicious.

Once again I’ll keep this short & sweet! Good tacos & good drinks! We came here for a quick bite… they had a bit of a wait so we went to the bar to grab some drinks. Very good bartenders! Fast, friendly, & energetic. The sangria-Rita & the mojito were both equally good. Refreshing & not too sweet. Still had a kick! The best tacos were definitely the brisket! Super yum. Tender & flavorful. The Carnitas had the flavor but they were a bit on the dry side. It still has major potential if you don’t mind putting a lil sauce on them. The banging shrimp was good as well. The Baja taco… eh, not so much. Overall, this is a pretty good go to spot for Tex Mex. Good food & good drinks. Try them out!

We had tacos. Yes! The royal carne was brilliant! Steak with Brie cheese and grape salsa was simply wonderful! So was the Ten $ taco. So good! Black beans were also delicious. Maybe… Fish and shrimp tacos were good, but it’s hard to take the fish when it’s so fried.

My mom and stopped in for an early lunch recently while we were nearby. I had a $ 10 taco and a banging shrimp taco. Both were good but I was a little underwhelmed(especially considering the way people talk about the food here). My mom had two fish tacos and also said they were fine but nothing special. She asked for hard tacos and was brought soft ones. She then asked if she could just get two hard shells to use and was told they didn’t have any made so it would be a while so she just stuck with what was brought out. Our waiter was nice and attentive(the place was also almost empty since it was early on a Saturday) but we were sitting close to the front and the group of employees at the host/ess stand were talking so loudly we could hear every word of their conversation(like how they’ve slept in their cars after a night out). The setup of the place is fun but overall it was just a meh experience.

TacoLu is a great atmosphere. Close to the beach, everyone is relaxed. The tacos were good, but my favorite was the Bangin’ Shrimp one — a must get here. Tacos are my favorite food and so I’ve had my fair share of them, but TacoLu’s tortillas are not my favorite, as the flour ones stick to the roof of your mouth, and they only serve you one corn tortilla(every taco fiend knows that will break — gotta have 2). But the flavors were good and the atmosphere fun! I think it was a little overhyped, but I will be back to try margaritas and maybe bump the review up after having a few more tacos.

OMG! This Mexican street corn is amazing! The combination of the Cotija cheese, chipotle crema and a squeeze of fresh lime makes a flavor explosion on your tongue. The rice comes out green but it’s on the money green because of the verdant mix of spinach, cilantro, garlic, and a touch of jalapeño. The Specialty of the house of course is the Banging TACOS! There all Bueno’!! Most JAXians have been here since they were kids, dates, special Celebrations. TacoLu’s is part of the history in this area and there newest building just turns up more Flavor for there customers! See ya at the LU!

Awesome tacos and margaritas! A little on the pricey side for the amount you get — otherwise they would be 5 stars.
