I was really rooting for some delicious Mexican food after a long day on the beach. The chips and salsa were okay, at best. The salsa Verde was maybe the highlight of our entire meal? I ordered the California Burrito and it was bland and astoundingly mediocre. Nobody in our party had anything good to say about the food so overall I can say the experience was, meh. Taco Bell does better.

Just disappointed in the service to the point that we left before ordering. They placed us at a table next to an advertising photoshoot. First off, they can take dish pictures anywhere so why place customers next to brightlights and employee traffic? Then to do the photoshoot during dining hours at 7:00pm, Just bad planning and lack of understanding by the employees.

Eh… Nothing to write home about. Service is great. Food is … So so at best. Queso is a mixture of cream cheese and whatever else. Salsa is really good. Nice and spicy. My daughter had fajitas. The steak tastes like it was marinated in Marsala. I had chimichanga’s. The chicken taste like cardboard smells. Literally. Rice is definitely from a box and it’s not even a Hispanic blend. Beans… Def from the can. Taco Bell brand most likely. The place is nice, the idea is nice… But it’s probably something you and your friends do when you decide to have taco night in your American kitchen … And you accidentally knock the empty rice box over into the pan of cooking chicken ;). Service is wonderful though, sometimes that’s everything. I think I’m mostly disappointed because I chose this as my cheat meal for the week.

No at all what I expected based on the raving reviews. The servers were uninformed, food was bland and lack luster with the exception of the appetizer smoked wings. I’m not a drinker so perhaps the draw is the drinks but it certainly was not the food. Won’t be back.

Great Margaritas! Food is solid, especially, if you like old school Mexican. Though, most Floridians have no clue what that is. We go for brunch and it is delicious with their huevos rancheros. Great chips and salsa. Just a great beach dive bar vibe. Love this place! Though, if you have read my past reviews on Mexican in Jax. We still have not come close to Los Angeles! :-)

Food was good. We’re originally going to different place and on a whim came here. Wasn’t that crowded. I ordered the breakfast burrito. I was okay. Drinks were slow to come out. No condiments offered. Waitress was slow. I think they could be a brunch powerhouse if they stepped their game up a little. We will try it again.

Best tex-mex & Margaritas at the beach. It’s definitely a place you’ll find the locals hanging out at the bar! The owner/manager is always here and checking on the tables or taking out food. Not a trendy hipster hangout — which is also a plus! Kids get to dig through a «treasure chest» after finishing their meals, you should see them go crazy over crappy little .50 cent prizes! I love this place :) The fajita nachos are awesome, Route 66 tostada is more like a taco salad(huge), non-traditional carne asada tacos are good, and pork tacos are also tasty. Very relaxed place, so don’t expect tourist type flare.

You guys need some serious help. From the rude staff to the cold food. Maybe give the place a face lift inside… I went to dinner the other night with 8 people total. All the orders were a mess, asked for drinks and had to keep re asking because we never received them. The bills were all scrambled! Just a mess and they were not busy at all… Really dead for a Friday night. I used to be a big fan of the place but I’ve slowly watched it go down hill.

Sooo much better food for brunch than Zeta next door. Great bartenders, including the infamous Jimmy! Yell Jimmy’s name when you walk in the bar and get something free! Ha! Weekend brunch starts a little later, so just hang, it’s worth it. Also, the hours of operation are not updated, so they are open on Saturday and Sunday. Laid back, good vibe. All locals. The good news is when they get unexpectedly slammed, the owners Vince, Dave, and Tom are hands on. It’s a family business at the beach… what more can you ask for?

Yes, I love margaritas. I also love queso… This is probably my favorite end to a fun night out at the beaches. I would give it a 5 star for being my go-to queso and final drink stop for the night. Food wise, I have been here a few times and haven’t been too impressed. but not really disappointed either. Just okay, authentic Mexican.

A good solid Mexican food choice. I have had a variety of items on the menu and don’t have a complaint. Most of the dishes on the menu have an extremely large serving size and I usually end up taking a box of leftovers home. A special note is the deep-fries ice cream… So delicious and worth saving room in your tummy for dessert.

Great margaritas, especially Wednesday Happy Hour. Go visit Jimmy. He is an awesome bartender… I have to say the red sauce on the enchiladas DEFINITELY leaves something to be desired(very bland), but the tostada I got was delicious and so were the chips and salsa and guacamole. Tuesday is top shelf margarita night. Sunday they have bottomless mimosas for $ 8 and bloody Mary’s for $ 3.50. Soooo good! We will certainly be back.

Every now and then I get an insatiable craving for Mexican. The only way my stomach can be satisfied, is by giving in, and indulging in a delicious array of food that does little for my health but wonders for my sanity. During finals week I developed this craving, and Campeche Bay was there to fix it. Five of my girlfriends and myself all ordered different combinations from the menu. I tried an array of items, all of which were outstanding. The margaritas were also quite fabulous(and so inexpensive)! I would recommend this place, but keep in mind like most Mexican places it’s been a tad Americanized. Food is still great, but it is not like you feel as though you’re in Mexico for a night.

Campeche Bay awesome as always! I used the Unilocal eat 24 online order app which worked fine. I usually go to eat in and enjoy happy hour margarita specials but was in a rush to eat and pack for a trip so I used the delivery service. This is done through doorstop delivery and pretty pricey but worth it if you are craving Mexican and need delivery. I had the steak fajitas which is a large portion that can be eaten in for meals. It’s full of tasty marinated charbroiled steak, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and baby corn. It comes with lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. It’s one of my faves… get sum!!!

Was not impressed with the food or the time it took for our food to be served. No one in the party was happy with food. $ 5 top shelf Marquita was strong but no complaints about it. Cannot recommend as a must when we return or to someone looking for Mexican food.

Fabulous place to have a group dinner or stop in for drinks. Weekly specials every night of the week! Happy hour is from 4 – 7. 10-close every night! Ask for Miranda, she’s the friendliest server around at the bar!!!

Nightly specials, Wednesday happens to be margarita madness. Great location and excellent service. Authentic Mexican menu. The aztec wings are delectable. Take time to savor the sangria on Sundays. Trivia nights Tue and Thur.

We walked in to an empty restaurant, and a teeny-tiny sign that said to seat ourselves in the bar area for brunch(we got there at 12:15pm). Picked a seat and waited. And waited. And waited. After twiddling our thumbs for 10+ minutes, we left. Maybe that is why the place was empty at noon on a Saturday?

Fun place for good food and flowing margaritas! I tried their spicy margarita last night and yum! The cool thing about this drink is you can choose how spicy you’d like it from mild to hot. I chose medium and it was just right; not sure what they infuse it with(maybe jalapeño?) but it was a great twist on the classic tequila drink. Their top shelf margarita is definitely no joke; delicious. The catch of the day was mahi, so I went for the fish tacos, my date ordered the seafood burrito and we shared a scoop of guacamole with the complimentary chips and salsa: BIG pieces of fresh mahi laid on a bed of red cabbage and a touch of house made tartar sauce. It was tasty and a great value considering the portion! The seafood burrito was also stuffed with ocean goodness; we both gobbled up our meals too quickly for pictures as I just got off from work and was starving ;) I’m not entirely sold on the guacamole-by-the-scoop concept; it’s $ 5 for literally an ice cream scooper sized dollop. It pains me to pay that much! Overall, great place for margaritas and apps for sure, and surprisingly fish tacos! Catch a happy hour to save some green, but if you’re feeling like a baller you get that second scoop of guacamole! Either way, you won’t be disappointed.

I love Campeche Bay! I’m really not understanding these other reviews regarding bad margaritas, jar tasting salsa and the lack of Cinco specials, given they actually had a Cinco de Mayo party. I’ve yet to have a bad experience there. I like to frequent it on Tuesdays for Top Shelf Tuesdays, where top shelf margaritas are only $ 5! I’m super picky about my margaritas too and I can say I definitely recommend their top shelf ones. They also have trivia on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30pm. It’s free to play and the gift certificates are substantial for the winners. Plus, the host is hilarious! The service has always been great and the queso is the best I’ve ever had. I’m vegetarian so it’s nice to have options at a Mexican restaurant that aren’t just cheese, onions and peppers. They actually have steamed veggies of carrots, mushrooms, squash and zucchini that you can get in a burrito(with black beans not just refried!!!) The menu has a lot of variety and I’ve also had many friends say their wings are the best they have ever had. I would say check it out for yourself on a Tuesday or Thursday and stay for some trivia!
