Not cheap. The service was great. Food has no flavor. Salsas are fridge cold and gross. The tortillas are also served cold. I would not come back here. The guacamole was terrible too!

The food is fine, but the staff, management and ownership aren’t very good at customer service. I placed a phone in order at 5:20pm which I was told would be ready in 10min. I arrived at 5:40 and paid for my food. At 5:45 I asked when it’d be ready and they realized they hadn’t made it yet. They rushed to make it and I rushed home. I got home and realized they had left off the chips and guac and given the wrong dish for my wife. They also neglected to provide an itemized receipt(just the credit card slip). I emailed Wahoo’s on their website and got no reply. I happened to be by this location again today and asked to talk to a manager. They said I have no proof without a receipt and sorry(I just asked for the chips & guac I never got). There are so many restaurants with good customer service so stay clear of this one.

Great Meal! Fresh and delicious! Friendly staff! What a nice lunch. Had the Carnitas Enchiladas with Green sauce. Amazing taste. They will make everything the way you want it.

5 days in a row of ordering the same exact thing and only once did they get it right. Day one: ordered the kale salad with no salsa, got my salad with salsa! Day two: ordered my salad to go with no salsa, came with salsa! after sitting on the counter for 15minutes, when I finally asked about it the same guy who took my order and saw me sitting right in front of him says” oh yeah it’s been sitting here“ Day three: clearly a manager taking my order, explains to me that they use pico de gallo as well as black bean and corn salsa mixture, I ask for neither please. The one and only time they got it right. Day four: I order my salad with no pico and no corn salsa please, comes with no pico but still has corn salsa. Day five: I’m tight on time so I order over the phone, I ask for the kale salad with no pico de gallo and no corn salsa please. She tells me «that salad does not come with pico only corn salsa» I tell her«the man at your register yesterday said it comes with both, but either way can you please make sure there’s no salsa and no pico period» I get my salad and what do you know it is COVERED in pico de gallo!!! I love the other ingredients and taste of this salad(after I spend ten minutes picking off the salsa!) that is the only reason I gave two stars. Get it together!!!

I am a wahoo’s junkie and have eaten here for over 25 years. Obviously there are stores that are better than others, thus is the nature of the beast. But for some reason the store is my least favorite but I frequented often because I am at the spectrum with the kids. Example: we ate there on New Year’s eve night at 5PM. The rice is always old tasting and the cooks have no idea how to grill the chicken. Tasted like chicken that sat in a sauce pan for a while but never got a char on it. The pico de gallo salsa which I’ve eaten a lot of in my lifetime was old looking and the tomatoes were almost yellow like they had made this batch three days ago. Service is always mediocre and it’s definitely of all the w Wahoos, my least favorite as far as the workers that work there and the kitchen that makes the food.

Yes it is a busy time of year, but waited 20 minutes and ordered my food at 1:09 and didn’t get it till 1:51, 42 minutes for two tacos??? ridiculous, and to top it off my food wasn’t hot

First time here for lunch and was immediately turned off by the cashier. She was cold, aloof, and did not provide a customer friendly atmosphere. Look, I am not looking to have a super bubbly cashier but if this is your place of work at least give a smile. Even if the food tastes amazing I already have a bad taste in my mouth. It starts with the very first encounter. first impressions do make a difference!

I am a wahoos lover! Don’t get me wrong i seriously love every dish wahoos has to offer but this location doesn’t make their food like other locations. At least that’s what i got from eating the food here. The chicken was way too salty and dry. I am a loyal wahoos customer and will be dining again in the future but i would steer clear of this particular location.

I like Wahoo’s. Some people I know aren’t big on Wahoos because its bland(which is true) and the meats often seem overcooked(which is true). Once you get past that — Wahoos tastes clean, fresh, and healthy. You can have lunch there, be full, but not have a food coma. That’s why I like it and keep going back. Typically I’ll get a two taco combo with white beans and white rice. That’s a good sized meal for me. My favorite of the proteins are blackened fish and shrimp. I’ve also had the steak, chicken, which are decent. If you’re looking into sides, the onion rings are amazing! Solid prices, good portions, and good service. I’ll be back.

Ordered an enchilada and a Citrus Slaw Taco, which totaled maybe just shy of $ 10. The Citrus Slaw taco was deemed ‘decent’ size by the cashier, but it was super small. Think street taco. Super disappointing size, so-so flavor. Wouldn’t recommend this at all. The enchilada was much better, but again, expensive for what you get. So really, there’s no value in coming here. Would be 2 stars, but knocking it down to 1 because the cashier basically fudged how big the taco was. Cool. Go somewhere else, plenty of good Mexican in the O.C.

Came in for lunch. Parking lot was a death trap. Lines were out the door. Was offered immediate service at the bar. Waitress needed to get in gear. Food was dry and boring. Noise level was high. I haven’t been to a Wahoo’s in nearly ten years, and what I had on my recent visit was a shadow of what I remember. I ordered the blackened chicken with rice and black beans. Chicken was dry and very salty. Rice was bland. Beans were salty. Lime wedge was like jerky. The Wahoo’s across the street from South Coast Plaza in Crystal Court is better. The Wahoo’s on Bristol down the street from South Coast Plaza is better. The Wahoo’s on Jamboree off the 405 is better. What is wrong with this place?

I’ve been a loyal patron of Wahoo’s since the late 80’s, when they only had one store at a dumpy location in Costa Mesa. Fast forward two-and-a-half decades later and they’ve got locations popping up everywhere and have expanded to numerous states. I guess they’re getting big and are now following the corporate blueprint of: raise prices while lowering quantity and quality. I’ve noticed most of the negative changes over the past 2 years(switching from homemade teriyaki sauce to pre-made, lower quality meats, reduction in portions, price increases, etc.). Will they continue to sell lots of food and beverage? Absolutely they will. But I will not frequent their locations nearly as much as I used to. I am writing this review because the meal that I used to order filled me up just perfect. Tonight, after eating the same meal, I was left extremely unsatisfied(still hungry) even though I paid a higher price. This has occurred during my last several visits even at other Wahoo’s locations. One thing that Wahoo’s has done well is their consistency throughout all of their locations. Unfortunately, this consistency today is working against the consumer and in favor of their bottom-line($$$$). Frustrating…

My husband and I wanted to walk around Irvine Spectrum last Sunday and wanted a quick bite to eat. After look at our options we decided to go to Wahoo’s because we haven’t had it in so long, plus the patio area is dog friendly :) I had my husband sit down at a table while I got us a menu. I ordered the banzai veggie bowl with cajun fish and shrimp with cajun white beans and brown rice & my husband ordered the bula burrito with cajun fish, black beans and brown rice. We also ordered the baja rolls to share and we both got a 22 oz beer. The total was around $ 30 which is a pretty good deal. Our order came out fast and everything tasted great. I asked them for a side of «Mr. Lee’s spicy chili sauce» it wasn’t even spicy :(such a disappointment. I would definitely come back next time we’re at the spectrum and we want a quick bite. I would recommend the banzai bowl since that’s the only thing I order lol. I think it tastes great and it’s super filling!

Wahoo’s! I used to go to the one at Santana Row in SJ as a college kid before it was replaced by Veggie Grill. Super stoked that they have it at Irvine Spectrum! As soon as you enter you’re bombarded by stickers, skateboard memorabilia, their blue walls hidden behind it all, and greeted by friendly staff. If you’re not sure about what to order, there’s a menu on the left and directly behind the counter. I hadn’t visited a location in a while so I was confused if they still had plates instead of just tacos. Sometimes a girl just needs her grilled fish with some fresh lime juice squeezed on top and seasoned steamed white rice. That’s exactly what I crave when I think of Wahoo’s. Sure, they’re known for tacos, but I’d rather skip the tortilla. I love LOVE their steamed white rice lightly seasoned to perfection. I can seriously eat all of it from their«Wahoo’s bowl» no beans please. Brown rice is also an option for the health conscious. Aside from plain grilled fish, there’s the Cajun option for just about anything, including shrimp, chicken, or beef. The Baja rolls with green sauce are ok, seems like they got smaller in the past four years though. I ordered for to go and was told it would be ready in ten minutes, but my name was called in about six. Awesome! Good to know their quality doesn’t change all over the state.

This place is located inside the Irvine Spectrum area and there was a decent wait for lunch, both in line to order, and for the food to be delivered, but they didn’t take too long. I had the Kale Salad Bowl and it was neither bad nor good. It just tasted like a Kale Salad, with the Cilantro Dressing which I found to be rather tasty and enjoyable, despite not liking cilantro much. I also ordered some fries which were forgettable and not really worth it, so I would pass on that in the future. The ingredients and taste overall were okay, nothing special and pretty standard fare. I feel like I’ve tasted better salads in Trader Joe’s than here, but still they weren’t bad per say.

Another easy location to get to via car. The location is really close to parking. As far as the food, I had the spicy chicken salad here. It was a very huge portion. I was able to customize however I wanted. I removed a couple of items from the salad. The dressing was a bit too strong for me but I’ll just order it on the side next time. Love how they add a whole lot of avocado unto the salad. The staff was very friendly as well. I had no hesitation when customizing my salad and my server was attentive. Also, remember that this place because of the convenience of location can get really packed. Keep that in mind if you decide to come here on your lunch hour.

I’ve eaten here many times over the last 7 or 8 years. The most momentous meal I’ve had here was with a special woman. It was here, several years ago, that I met my future wife for the first time and we had our first meal together. I’ll admit to being a fan of Wahoo’s. I always seem to order the same thing — 2 cajun chicken enchiladas in green sauce with white rice and black beans. I also get an iced tea. Today was no different; that was my exact order and it was delicious. I also ordered some chips and their fantastic smokey-tasting salsa which were also very good but, unlike a Mexican restaurant, are NOT complimentary(but not too expensive). I always find the food runners to be friendly and eager to please, happy to bring anything you need whether it’s an extra napkin or some more green sauce. Because of the delicious food, great service and the special significance of this location to me, I’m giving it a full 5 stars.

It’s great coming to this location. The atmosphere is great. The service is great. And you can put stickers on the walls! I know I’ve put up a few myself, and it’s always cool to go to a place and see that your sticker is still there. This location has indoor and outdoor seating. It gets more room than most food places at the Spectrum, but can fill up fast during lunch and dinner. So seating can be scarce at times. This place also makes my favorite seasoned rice. I normally get the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, and the way the teriyaki mixes with their rice. Oh I wish they offered bottomless meals.
