Famous Dave’s

The food was good, especially the sides. The service was slow and inattentive and the female members of the service staff were very sloppily dressed. Another party at our table spilled a glass of water and no one from the wait staff came voluntarily to clean it up. someone had to be summoned and then they tried to clean up a full glass of water with the roll of paper towels on the table, leaving it empty and not replaced by the time our food finally arrived and leaving a puddle of water still on the floor under the table. Straws were not given out when beverages were delivered and when we requested straws, we were asked «how many do you need?» rather than just passing out enough for our table. Beverages were only refilled when asked and then only after a long wait. I hope I do not return.

Went in with a group for lunch around 2:00pm during the week. The place was not crowded, but when that happens sometimes food tastes leftover. That was not the case with our meals. The food was fresh and the service was excellent. We couldn’t have been more pleased. We will definately be back again.

The service was great and the bar view of the tv is great, watching the Spurs vs. OKC game. Loving the atmosphere and the crowd of people are great!

This is the first time that we ate here and we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We were greeted nicely as we entered and got a booth that was clean.
The food was awesome and the selection of sauces were outstanding… I mixed Wilbur’s Revenge and Devil’s Spit for an out of this world taste. The brisket and my pulled chicken sandwich were the best…
The potato was not cooked to my wife’s liking so they replaced it no questions asked and even gave us a free desert.
The manager was professional and our waitress was an excellent server. This is a top notch establishment that puts customers first

If what you want out of barbecue is a lot of choice and a lot of flavor options, Dave’s is for you. They’ve always got at least 6 different options on the table for you, each one designed for a different ‘cuer in mind. I’m not a fan of spice, so I generally go for the Rich and Sassy.
If what you want out of barbecue is meat perfectly cooked, only to use the sauce as a bit of flair along the way, skip out. I’ve never had any real consistency with the quality of my order, except when I order pork. It’s always dry and always stringy.
They do, however, have very good catfish fry and some excellent cornbread muffins. And if you like a big open, sometimes loud family-​reunion style of dining, they’ve got that too. Big picnic tables fill the middle of the restaurant, edged with smaller tables if the idea of sharing a space with strangers doesn’t suit you.
All in all, I’m not sure why Dave is particularly Famous, and I’ll only go here again if my family wants to. But I left feeling full, so I can’t really give it less than three stars, can I?
Edit: Yes, I can definitely give it less than three. It’s a place purporting to be famous for barbecue, and I think their barbecue is the worst part of the menu.

Hubby only worked half of day. So we treated our self to Famous Dave’s. We sat in the bar, the bartender Amy was working she was awesome very friendly checked on us three times. Hubby is a jokester she knew how to handle him.
We got the beef brisket with Mac and cheese so creamy but yet a little spicy it has jalapeños and corn in it oh sooooo good. And a corn muffin.

Hadn’t been here in 5 years, rib tips still as tender as ever! The mac and cheese has jalapeño in it, not a huge fan but super fast service. The corn on the cob is cooked to perfection! Friendly staff, my 1yr old loved the mac and corn! Reasonably priced with giant portions

Better than City BBQ by far, the Mac and cheese here with the jalapeños is out of contol. If you want some real FIRE bbq go to Dave’s. Straight flame and kept it real with my taste buds u feel me?
Idiots on here calling the food good but complaining about price please delete your Unilocal account you cheap skates it is not that expensive. Take your coupons to city bbq instead and settle for mediocre. Mediocre penny pincher type people deserve mediocre BBQ.

We went recently on a Wednesday evening. They were not busy at all, and it was around 6:00 p.m.
The server was very attentive and very friendly. She checked on us just enough. She was not obnoxiously hovering, but she didn’t ignore us. She had the routine down.
We ordered the variety feast meat/​meal, and a Cajun chicken sandwich.
Both meals were good. The chicken breast sandwich was well cooked and assembled. The fried and crunchy onion strings were a nice and tasty touch. The accompanying sauce also had a good flavor. The french fries were meaty, (home fry wedges), and were also prepared and seasoned adequately. The only complaint would be that the ribs seemed a bit dry, and could have been sitting around awhile. Maybe they were just a slightly older batch?
The cole slaw was good, the baked bbq beans were good, and the corn bread muffin was good as well.
The food came out in good time, and it was hot enough too.
All in all, I would go there and eat again.
I had been there before many years ago, and from my recollection, I remembered it being decent at that time as well.

You know what I’m not a fan. I think this please is a rib bit (haha) on the expensive side. The food is good. I loooooove their cornbread muffin but not for one of them and ribs for almost $ 20. The waitress was nice and we even chatted with some couples next to us. I just don’t think the ribs were worth it. However I am use to grilling my own.

Of I could give ZERO-​stars I would!!! As a veteran I found there web site advertising free meal for vets. I was refused even though web site said all day they quit participating at 4pm before dinner rush… Selfish unpatriotic company. Disappointing. Food is generic I’m done with this place! If your a vet please boycott

The only reason I’m not giving this 5 stars is because it seems lately we’ve been stopping at FD’s an hour before they close, we are traveling for work, and they are either out of something or we get the lesser cuts of meat. My baby back ribs were great but my husbands brisket was overly fatty. All in all it wasn’t their best food but the service was on point as usual.

If you are looking for some good BBQ in the Greenwood area this is the spot. Friendly staff and good food. Not too busy for a Friday night which was surprising.

I was not expecting to like this place as it doesn’t have much variety. As expected at a BBQ joint, basically BBQ is you’re only option. But, I ended up really enjoying it! I had the chopped pork sandwich. And it was BOMBDIGGITY. My boo had the Texas brisket sandwich and enjoyed it very much so. (He also had coleslaw on his Sammie which was a great choice.) I had a side of Mac n cuz which came with my meal, and it was an extremely skimpy sized side, but it was delicious. It had corn and BBQ in it! I also had a delicious baked potato. Meal exceeded my expectations. Our server was «famous Kelsey» and I loved her introduction. I didn’t give five stars because I believe it was overpriced and I was unimpressed with the skimpy side portion sizes. Service was quick and attentive. Baked potato was massive and they truly load it up.

I worked here for 4 months. The staff is absolutely terrible. The host are lazy & the servers are just plain rude. The food isn’t bad… But not worth your money, too expensive. I recommend smokey bones and million times over this place. There are like 3 servers that are great. The rest are ghetto. Take your service somewhere else. I could not be happier to leave this place. The managers are not good AT ALL. ONLY Nichole & Matt. Can’t believe how they treat their employees.

Not our first time, but my boyfriend and I stopped in here on a Football Sunday (in between games). It’s like the cook in the kitchen was taking the day off. It wasn’t a team effort, but our waiter was doing well. It was all downhill from there. The problem was the cuts of meat on the burnt ends (appetizer and entrée portions) were nothing else but cuts of fat. The meat was chewy and very much NOT worth the price. It was like City BBQ on their bad day — only much worse. Only 3 out of the group of pieces were good. For two people, we paid $ 43 and some change. We always order water — we aren’t ever charged for sugary beverages. So, that price was just for bad food.
Everything else was somewhat edible. The brisket was a little more dry than normal so I used the BBQ sauce to enhance the flavors, however, I feel like there wasn’t much good in it to make this a memorable meal. It lacked finesse, taste, and tenderness.
We won’t be back, so continue with your lazy cuttings of meat. It was the worst meal we ever had. We should have gone to Weber Grill. It was an insult to culinary creations in the kitchen. Gordon Ramsay would have thrown a fit.

This was my first visit here and I just have to ask, what took me so long? I’m a big fan of BBQ no matter where I find it, chain restaurant or local joint. I had the lunch special on a Saturday and enjoyed my lunch. I had the Georgia pulled pork served with a hot link sausage. The lunch special also came with coleslaw and a very tasty corn bread muffin. I would love to see Famous Dave’s sell a recipe mix of the muffins, I would buy a dozen.
The waitress was very helpful in describing the various sauces to us. Of the six sauces shown to us by the waitress, my favorites were Texas Pit, Rich and Sassy and the Georgia Mustard.
My wife had the stuffed baked potato also with Georgia pulled pork and was also very happy with her meal. She had previously been to Dave’s and told me that if I left the restaurant hungry, it would be my fault. I certainly didn’t leave hungry, but thankfully I wasn’t stuffed.

If you go hungry here it’s your fault. The servings can be generous. While Indiana isn’t know. For great BBQ and this is a chain I have to admit it’s pretty decent ‘que. I’ve always had good service and no complaints about the food.

Another chain I like, really when they have specials and coupons! I’m a deal maker, baby!
Burnt ends, delicious. Ribs, delectable. Famous fries – favorites! Pork and chicken haven’t been the strong points when I had them. My most recent thing has been that the last 2 times I’ve carried out food, they’ve forgotten the corn muffins, which I know people don’t think is a big deal, but those little muffins are delicious and you tend to look forward to them if they’re offered! The management did a good job of making it up by comping stuff, but I don’t mean to complain, I really like this place!
The service is always super friendly and courteous! Reasonably priced only if you have coupons. Could get as expensive as City BBQ if you don’t have any.
Nothing fancy. Just BBQ. Lovely.

It’s chain barbeque, so it’s not as good as those little mom and pop, hole-​in-​the-​wall places that have mind blowing barbeque. But it’s good. And when I’ve got a craving for meat slathered in bbq sauce this place helps to satisfy me.
The first time I ate here they sent me home with a free bottle of their Texas Pit sauce. How can I *not* love that? And to be honest, their bbq is good, but their sauces are what really makes me come back. They are fantastic.
