Great food and the team working there truly comes off as loving their jobs. It’s quite unique to experience this in Fast-Casual. Food experience is always above average here. Also their catering is a solid value and quite delicious but make sure to give them at least 48 hours of lead time on these orders.

The turkey is my favorite! The corn side and the cornbread are also really good. It is fun to get the family platters and split so people can try different things.

Great location and the Brisket was awesome. Originally from TX and have been disappointed with most brisket locations in IN. This place dose it right.

I do like it. I like ordering meat«naked» with two sides. The meat is tender and flavorful, and the sides taste good too. The price is pretty fair, and the quality is one or two notches above KFC and other fast food restaurants. I will go back.

Fun, friendly atmosphere and helpful, energetic staff. Food was great and the sauces were delicious. The portions were large enough that you’ll almost definitely go home with extras.

One of my absolute favorite flavors to grace my mouth. I would give them a higher rating but their service is so lacking that I can’t. I go there at least once a week. The food portions are hit and miss. They are good one visit and stingy the next, but I am addicted to the smoked meat and can’t stay away no matter how stingy they get or how they can just act as though they’ve never seen you when you are a regular. Goes to say they certainly don’t need anymore business than they have so their appreciation is lacking. Go here for good food, not friendly or sincere service. The dirty paper towel roll on the table is nasty as it is always stained with the many previous visitors greasy hands. Things to over look but the tongue is rewarded.

My first stop after I land in Indianapolis is always city Barbeque. I have lived in many places offering BBQ. City Barbeque is one the best I ever had. And the absolute best without going way down south or Texas. This is a small chain in Indianapolis, Ohio, and I think Kentucky. Like there are only maybe ten of these. It does not taste like a chain. You got blues on the speakers. Really low down stuff. Between the music and the food you are transported to another place and time. I always get the brisket. Naked. No bun. And the corn pudding and BBQ beans. Those beans are rich and pieces of brisket in it. I got a sample of ribs today. Amazing. Real smoke fall apart heaven. Every meat and side is good. Hand cut fries. No skimping. The service is impeccable. Hospitality that is rare to find. Sometimes a meat is so popular, it might sell out. Everything is delicious, but if your heart is set on one thing, call ahead and they will make sure you get it, particularly on a Friday or Saturday night. Wonderful warm sauces. Great sweet tea and lemonade. Peach cobbler is their featured cobbler now. Come and get it. This place is far from where I live. If I was closer I would be in deep dark trouble. So delicious. Hats off to City Barbeque.

I know what some people might think, this is not a local place; this is just a «fast food franchise». Well this place is pretty amazing. The atmosphere reminds you of the«old west setting». I always go for the Texas Brisket. Everyone is concerned about you. Your well being and the food was great, amazing! They are very appreciative of the customer. I love it. Great food. Great customer service; I will definitely be coming back here! Plus you can get your local brew, SUNKINGOSIRIS or CREAMALE =)

This city BBQ is great! They service Sun King beer and you also get a Sun King glass you get to take home with you! So cool! The prices were a little high, but we are talking about pork here. Fast service and also good desserts :)

We were greated comming in the door that was very nice. The cashier was attentive and made sure we were aware of the new items. Then made sure we had our order correct and everything was good. The server helped me carry trays to the table. That was very helpful i would have needed to make a few trips if they didnt help out. The food was hot and melted in your mouth. I enjoy every visit. If they are out of something it doesnt matter everything they smoke is good.

Craving BBQ pulled pork sandwiches is a regular occurrence in our house. So when we need our fill, we come here! My jam is the pulled pork sammie with the sweet BBQ sauce. Ps. You can totally order it without the bun, for we gluten free folks! Accompanying sides vary with my mood, but favorites include: potato salad, fries, mac and cheese, and green beans. You simply cannot go wrong with any of those! The fries are a bit greasy, but when you eat BBQ, greasy fries are always welcome! They even have a decent local brew selection! Hellooooo Sun King! Gotta love that beer and BBQ combo. Staff is always super friendly and the food is always great. I treat myself to a bottled root beer(because they always have best bottles of random sodas). We are regulars and plan on remaining as such!

Tried City Barbeque for the first time this week and we will definitely be back! My husband and I moved from North Carolina and had been looking for a good BBQ place. Everything here was great, and they even had Cheerwine(which is usually impossible to find north of KY). The staff was very friendly and helpful too!

I have eaten here on numerous occasions. This visit I brought my son for lunch. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with green beans and a side salad. My son ordered the pulled pork with potato salad and french fries. He was on potato overload. Everything was delicious. I ended up taking the salad home because it was an abundance of food. The two of us ate for a little over 20.00. We used to have them cater at my old job and they were delicious every time.

Ribs were nigh perfect. Mac n cheese was satisfyingly cheesey. Baked beans were made with brisket and were flavorful and not overly sweet. The original sauce was their best imho. Their sweet as well as «the brushfire sauce» didn’t do too much for the meat. The brushfire while flavorfull did not complement the meat as it overpowered the flavor with too much sweetness.

Good BBQ and other food choices. My fiancé loves this place too. I get the turkey and he gets the beef. The side salads are decent with a tasty/tangy and refreshing apple cider vinaigrette dressing. The various side dishes are comparable as well. The assorted BBQ sauces are very good. They do not lack flavor whatsoever. The atmosphere is very casual, cramped and impersonal. It’s a bit confusing when you first go in the place. It’s basically like a cattle drive. You coral yourself to the side register and order. You get your own drink, and then wait for your order to be ready/displayed on the counter next to the kitchen. You just grab it, eat it, and get the helloutta Dodge after that.

Someone needs to look at your PREMIUM Salad — if I lived closer I would have returned this carryout Salad that I paid $ 12 for — most of the lettuce was brown and obviously had been setting for awhile. If and when I return I would definitely not get this salad… which is unfortunate since you do not have a lot of low calorie items.

Good, just good. The meat is tasty and the cukes & onions are good as well as the smashed potatoes. It’s very affordable, also. If you dine in, you can get Sun King beers there.

In my eternal search for amazing barbecue, I came across this gem of a place. A Google search brought up City Barbeque as one of the best in the country. From what I can tell, City Barbeque is a chain(at least there are several across several states) so my inclination was to write them off. What caught my attention when reading their website was three distinct things. First, they went into detail about their bbq and explained the smoke ring and bark… both of which you can expect to find on their meat.(Actually, that’s #1 and #2…smoke rings and bark). #3 was that their sauce is served on the side, not smothering the meat so that the sauce becomes the star. Sooooo… I went for a drive to Greenwood. Walking in, the place felt very rustic and clean. The menu was pretty easy to understand and the staff was friendly. I decided to try a «naked platter» that is, meat with no bun. I just wanted to check out their meat. I ordered pulled pork and brisket with a side of mac n cheese and coleslaw. Just as bbq can vary from region to region, so can coleslaw. Their slaw is vinegar based, not mayo based so be sure you know this before you place your order. The meat was… by far… the star of my meal. True to their statement, you could clearly see a smoke ring and there was plenty of bark on my plate. The meat was so packed full of flavor that I had a hard time getting myself to even use a sauce. Absolutely amazing brisket. The pulled pork was very, very good as well but I just can’t stop talking about the brisket. The slaw was very yummy, not overpowered with vinegar and plenty of flavor. The mac n cheese definitely wasn’t my favorite. As with many places that serve mac n cheese it could have been from a cafeteria or other random place. There wasn’t anything unique or stand-outish about it. Good, but that’s about all I can say. Overall, this place is just plain GREAT. I’ll be back again very soon so I can check out the rest of the menu but believe-you-me…I’ll be gettin me some brisket once again!

I was in need of some bbq earlier today, so my family and I decided to go here. My wife and I haven’t been here for quite some time but we thought we’d give it a try being it’s not such a new place anymore. So to just sum up from our last experience, the food was still great the staff was much more alert and friendly and it was a nice day to sit outside on the patio! I still give City Barbeque 3 stars due to the fact that for a place you have to serve yourself, it’s just a bit pricey as I’ve stated in my review in the past. All in all we were more pleased with this visit!
