This location will be closed as of Monday :( I’ve had good and bad experiences here. But with a little person who loves pizza, we frequented this location for takeout Margherita pizza. I will miss getting this dinner treat for my family… I wonder what they are going to be putting in its place as this is a tough spot

I mentioned last night it had been over 3 years since I’ve been to a Bertucci’s so we decided to give it a shot last night for an impromptu dinner. First off, it was rather empty when we arrived which was slightly odd for dinner time. The restaurant(and yes, because I ALWAYS go to the restroom) and restrooms are clean. And cleanliness is important to me.(probably more so than others from what I’m told). We were greeted quickly and placed our drink orders. They have kids menu’s(important for toddler companions) and a pretty decent kid menu. Not as much fried stuff as other chain places. We ordered one of the brick oven pizza’s — very tasty! and the Antipasto. I’m from the Pittsburgh area so my idea of Antipasto salads are different, however this had a nice selection of salami, peppers, mozzarella cheese, a few other goodies and some hard bread. It was a great combo for my fiancé and I and enough to fill up on. Also, as others have mentioned, the rolls are hot hot when they land on your table. soft on top and crusty on the bottom, with some olive oil w/some spices mixed in for dipping. YUM! I was pleasantly surprised and will be back! If you haven’t been in a while, give the Herndon location a try!

This place has really gone downhill. It’s nearby my office and we’ve done team lunches there for years, but it keeps getting worse every time. Unique pizza toppings are a great idea, so long as the staff can prepare them. Steer clear of the Balsamic BBQ Shrimp and Blue Cheese pizza. It arrived to me TWICE with raw/undercooked shrimp on top. The first time the waiter set it down in front of me, my mouth fell open as the person across the table exclaimed«raw shrimp!» I called over the waiter who tried to tell me that they were cooked. Gray shrimp = raw. Pink shrimp = cooked. He took it and reappeared a minute later with a nuked pizza. Now the shrimp were pinker on top, but still raw and gray beneath. Disgusting. Who serves raw shrimp? Sent it back and asked to not see that pizza again. They brought me a so-so flatbread. I don’t know if they’ve had a management change or kitchen switch or what’s happening, but new pizza options in the area are looking better and better.

I wish I could review Bertucci’s for their food but we couldn’t stay to eat. They couldn’t accommodate us even though we had reservations. Our daughter’s soccer team came in first place today in their multi-league championship tournament. They had a challenging weekend and deserved a nice celebration. We had made reservations at Bertucci’s a week ago, however, when we arrived today they had seated someone else in our place and wanted to seat us(about 40 of us… 15 eleven-year old girls, siblings and parents) into 5 booths in their dining area. To make matters worse, they claimed to have tried to get ahold of us earlier to either confirm a time or schedule.(No missed call or voicemail on our cell phone). Yet they had the correct contact information… we actually did receive a call and voicemail from them(after we left) apologizing for the ‘mix-up’. We ended up being accommodated at The Mellow Mushroom down the street. Check out my review for them… Mellow Mushroom did an excellent job even though it was extremely last minute.

We used to eat here all the time(the one in Centreville), but the last time we ate at this location was years ago. We decided to give it another try tonight — the rolls, at least, must still be good, right?! Right — we could eat dozens of them, but everything else was a disaster. The pizza was so undercooked, it couldn’t be eaten. The rigatoni with broccoli and chicken in wine sauce was so obviously made of frozen chicken and frozen broccoli. Such a bummer! I should have known when I went to pick it up(the order wasn’t ready yet) when I saw that the place was less than half full. The staff was pleasant enough, though the bartender who got me a glass of wine while I waited for my take out, gave me the willies(that weird, jokey thing, «I GUESS I can get you a glass of wine!»). No, thanks. Such a bummer. One star for the rolls.

I think some people find reasons to pick apart little things, thus a poor or somtimes even a bad review. I experienced none of the issues noted by the other Unilocalers. Maybe management read your reports, maybe not… I don’t know. But in our case tonight… excellent service, great food, acceptable prices… zero issues to complain about. First to arrive at our table was waters, nice sourdough rolls… and the most remarkable oil and herb dipping for our bread. Fantastic. Cocktails arrived for the ladies… don’t know what they ordered… but they liked it. Me, I had a bud lite beer… it was so cold my teeth ached!!! Nanny had just a dinner salad… spinach with some candied walnuts, apples and things. She liked it. Cheri had a dinner salad to start, followed by spaghetti with meatballs… she deliberately ordered the meatballs so to give them to me… thank you, they were tasty. She enjoyed her spaghetti and salad. I ordered the«farmers Salad»…it was fantastic… lettuce, black olives, mozzerella cheese, pepperoni, cherry tomato’s…with balsamic vinegar. WOW… No one had room for dessert, so a nice cup of coffee finished off a real good dinner. Our experence was good, so will yours… give them a try!!!

I think this is a 3 ½ star restaurant, but I’ll go with 4 since the waiter last time was doing a good job. Not sure what people are expecting here, the food isn’t that bad. I think their calzone is pretty decent, pizza is fine. I’ve had the pasta and it’s just ok. Kids food always hits the spot. The price are reasonable.

I abs love this place! BEST food and BEST customer service. Then guy in the front was amazing. I ordered the chicken parm, lobster ravioli and a salad. The chicken parm was so tasty. Ask for extra sauce tho.

Two of my 3 meals have been terrible… stay away from the pasta since I won’t even classify it as «Italian» food or even Americanized Italian food. It makes The Olive Garden looks like a gourmet place. I honestly don’t know how there’s so many restaurants in the area. The pasta dishes are so substandard in flavor that I would rather have them heat up a microwavable frozen dinner for me. However, I will say that the one time I had their pizza it was tasty… surprisingly. I’m not sure why the flavor is in the pizza and not in the rest of the dishes, but I guess if I’m forced to eat here by another company lunch, then I’ll be sticking to the pizzas.

My coworkers ordered from here from work because their to go menu advertised delivery. When we called we were told we had to order like $ 30 worth of food. For lunch, that seems a little high and I think it should say that on the menu. Anyway the food was decent but the staff was a little unprofessional. Someone called us back 5 minutes after my coworker placed the order and said she just wanted to check the order because it probably wasn’t correct. This suggested to me that they have a lot of problems with their staff. They called back 2 more times to ask how we were paying and if we would need change. Shouldn’t they have asked these things when the order was first placed? We ordered from an office so it was really disruptive each time to go and find the person who placed the order to ask her all these questions. Finally the food arrives and the driver was not too pleasant. She handed us the receipt and it listed a gratuity on it, so my coworker said she would in fact need change. The driver got really huffy and said«this is why we called and asked if you needed change and you said no». She then stormed out to her car go to look for change. When she returned, my coworker said«well I didn’t realize gratuity was already included…» and she said«it’s not a gratuity, it’s a delivery fee and it doesn’t go to the driver» and handed us our change and promptly left. If it really isn’t a gratuity that’s fine, we would have tipped her had she not stormed out immediately. I have always seen it listed as a delivery fee, not a gratuity, and furthermore would it kill a delivery driver to carry a few bucks with them when they go to make deliveries just in case? Food was decent but customer service was poor.

My fettucine alfredo with shrimp was dry and lifeless. Now that I have used up the $ 25 gift card someone gave me, I will not be back to Bertucci’s ever again.

Not sure why the bad reviews for Bertucci’s. I was actually shocked when I came to the Unilocal page to write this review. I had been here once before and always wanted to go back. So I finally did this past weekend and took my very picky eater parents along for the ride because I know they will at least eat pasta. First, I’ll say the brick oven pizza is amazing — had that last time and still dream about it sometimes. This time, we all had typical entrees, salads or pasta dishes. Everything was really delicious, and they even let me customize my dish a bit. The service was quick and friendly, and everyone had a good time. The only complaint was really how noisy it was inside. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the crispy crusted dinner rolls you get here, which you can tear apart to reveal a fluffy, warm and ridiculously delicious center for dipping into an herb and olive oil blend.(They’re unlimited too, by the way.) While I think the cost at any Italian restaurant is a bit high(considering pasta is like 99 cents a box), Bertucci’s is otherwise a good value for the money. I really like the cozy setting inside too, if only they could put up some noise barriers here and there or something to make it a little more intimate. If you see the mediocre Unilocal rating here and can’t decide, I implore you to give Bertucci’s a shot. I’m aghast at seeing it not have more happy customers like myself.

Bertucci’s is like Olive Garden with a different name. I went there for lunch during the week and it was hoppin! During lunch, they serve unlimited rolls and salad, which I was excited about. Unfortunately, the waiter kept the rolls coming, but we had to wait on the salad for about 20 minutes. I would have much rather filled up on salad than rolls. I have a hard time understand why it took so long to serve since you’d think they just keep making them since they’re constantly serving«unlimited» salad at every table. I ordered the calzone because I heard they were the best thing to get according to the tipsters on Foursquare(all 3 of them). I had ordered an side of marinara and hot pepper flakes with that, which never came. The calzone was decently big and but somehow lacked flavor. I just kept getting big bites of ricotta. Le sigh, I really wanted to like Bertucci’s but ultimately it was a letdown. Obviously our waiter’s forgetfulness had a lot to do with the mediocre experience but at least he kept the drinks coming. The two positives I will give them is that they can accommodate large groups and they got us out of there in under and hour, which is a good thing at lunch.

I know this is sudden, but I need to make you my wife, Bertucci’s. Your succulent, hot rolls taste like little balls of heaven coated with butter. Your angel hair pasta is like the hair of an angel. I came into your loving arms most recently only discover a unique concept on your menu: bringing back old items from year’s past to celebrate your 30th Anniversary(you don’t look a day over 18, though). Although I normally get the tortellini, this time I saw cannelloni on the special menu and knew I was in store for a treat. You didn’t disappoint. Also, thank you for always freezing the beer mugs. Not many places do it anymore, but you never let me down. Ciao bella, until we meet again.

A nice place for big groups, since they have a big room specially for this purpose. However. Not that Bertucci’s should be a place known for their steak, but if you have a big glossy picture of it in your menu, then one would expect that the Filet Mignon would be worthwhile. The chianti sauce didn’t taste good, and my medium rare steak was more like medium well. Everyone else at our table who ordered the Filet Mignon also ended up with medium well — well done steaks rather than medium rare/medium. We also ordered bruschetta, but the tomatoes on it were tasteless. Blech. Secondly, I hate it when I order a tonic water and end up with club soda. Third: I was nursing my baby, so still was working on my main course when dessert came out. The waitress who gave me a spoon for the dessert promptly sat it down on my dinner plate, on top of the mashed potato! WTH??! Why she didn’t put it directly on the table is totally beyond me. My friends who were with me looked at her doing it, and were totally speechless.

My dinner companions suggested this place as a relatively quick option to the hotel dining room, as we were all tired and just wanted to eat and get to our rooms to rest. The only reason they get two stars from me is that they had cold Harpoon IPA on tap, one of my favorite beers. Dinner was a major disappointment. The salad, described elegantly in the menu as chock full of delicious things, was mostly lettuce, overdressed and disappointing. I was going to order a big salad with chicken for dinner but changed my mind when one of my companions ordered Lobster Ravioli. Sounded interesting to me, so I went for it. Bad, bad choice. Cheap Italian places are not suited for complex dishes, and the plate which arrived soon validated this. Expecting a delicate cream sauce, instead the ravioli were swimming in a brothlike concoction. Hey, if I had ordered mussels or clams I would expect them to come in broth, but not ravioli. The ravioli themselves were a bit heavy pasta-wise, and the lobster meat was fishy. I struggled through the first two, then flagged the waiter to get some Parmesan cheese on top to try and enhance the flavors. The cheese helped, but within an hour after dinner I realized the rest of my night was doomed to be tasting the fishy lobster no matter how much I brushed my teeth or drank water. So, yeah, don’t expect haute cuisine at Bertucci’s. Their pizza looked OK, the service was fine, but the flowery menu descriptions don’t seem to match the dishes. Will I go back? Maybe, because there aren’t that many options around here and I travel here a lot, but I’m certainly going to stick to basics from now on.

Not a fan of anything besides the pizza here. At lunchtime you can get a Menucci Pizza(personal size) for about 8 bucks. My personal favorite is the Menucci Margherita which comes with a deliciously crispy thin crust(see pic), fresh mozz and basil. Oh and the salad is no where near as good as OG but the bread is addictive.

The Olive Garden of Brick Oven pizza. I travel to Herdon from Detroit each week for work and we don’t have brick over pizzas at home. I like to try new places and check things out. A few weeks back I had Emilio’s in Sterling and was blown away by the flavor and texture really good stuff. I’m staying next to Bertucci’s this week and figured what the heck… they must think what the heck all the time… this pizza is complete crap and I would have been mad if I’d paid half of what I did. Dough has no flavor or charring, the toppings are C+ at best, and it reminds of licking a postage stamp-bland with a bad after taste. I don’t mind chains, as a consultant sometimes average consistency is worth not trying new things, but this I am actually a bit mad at myself that I spent 20 bucks on this garbage.
