Here on vacation from Tampa Florida, ordered take out and Holy Phở! Generous portions of seasonings, i wish the container of broth was larger but the broth was FANTASTIC. Fresh seasonings and I’m estimating ½ pound of noodles. If you don’t look closely, you’ll pass it. Its in the food lion plaza. ENJOY!

Well that review is over the top but I’ll try. I’ve been going to Vietopia for two years now. Having been to Vietnam, it is very authentic for their simpler fare. I was so pleased to find somewhere I could get fresh, delicious, genuine Vietnamese food! Sorry I can’t remember the names of what I’ve had but it was all good!

Visits: 6+, lunch and dinner(not that it matters — same menu at all times). Food: Harrisonburg is a small city in the middle of the Shenandoah Valley. It has no reason to have such an amazing Vietnamese restaurant. But it has one. And my god, it is glorious. The phở is hands down the best phở I’ve ever had, with an absolutely delicious broth that makes you wish you knew their recipe. Their banh mi is also top notch and extremely tasty(if perhaps much less healthy than the phở). Just wonderful. The menu is small, but perfect. They know exactly what they make, and they make it incredibly well. Atmosphere: Quiet(in a good way) and clean. Perfect for lunch, but good for dinner, too. Service: Prompt and nice. No complaints here! Cost/Benefit: Amazing. The phở is only $ 8.50. The banh mi is only $ 5. This place is literally as inexpensive as most fast food. The quality has been consistent for at least half a decade, when I first started going there. Every single time I’m in the area to visit Shenandoah National Park, I go here at least once, and I’m never once disappointed.

I was very impressed with Vietopia. Many places in the DC/MD/VA area struggle to bring the flavor Vietopia has. Food: I ordered the Tai&Sach&Meatball phở. A phở combination that is rare to find, unless you build it yourself. The broth was wonderful. It packs a punch with the depth of flavor. I find a lot of Viet places try to cater toward American palette/dietary preferences by making a clean broth. Personally, I love the oil I see on top. It speaks a lot about the love put into the phở. The flavor I experienced here is second to Eden Center. I loved the Tai. So many places have think, Steakumm consistency. But this was thick and hearty and MEAT. The meatballs were moist and heaven. It reminds me so much of homemade Viet meatballs. My only complaint is the strange freezer taste I got from some basil. And also that my Sach wasn’t cut up more Service: was great! The man was very patient and pleasant. I loved that he kept an eye on our water and came for refills. Ambiance: The restaurant does not have a Viet feel. More like an American diner. Overall it was very clean and pleasant. I loved that there were little dishes on the table for me to mix sauce to dip meat into. :) Overall: why can’t this place be closer to DC?!? I’m a fan!

Went for lunch on a Sunday, nice mixed crowd, you’d expect the food to be decent because the restaurant is sort of hidden off the main road next to a Food Lion. The décor is clean, bright and dinner-ish. Menu is simple but has all the favorites: summer rolls(called spring here, not fried), egg rolls, banh mi sandwiches, phở and various noodle and rice dishes. Everything our group tried was excellent. Portions are large. I could have made two meals out of the summer rolls and phở. Service is attentive, prices very reasonable($ 5 for a roast pork banh mi that completely crushes any sandwich you might order at Subway for more money). Not a date place(not first date anyway) but good for friends and students. Great quality, taste, service and prices earns 5 stars for me.

My new gold standard for phở ga. The super flavorful, crystal clear broth was delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu.

Great phở. I had the beef stew and it was the best I ever had. Egg rolls were great with the fish sauce. Great prices and the vermicilli was nearly over flowing the bowl.

First time I went I got the pork banh mi… It was great but not the reason I wanted to update my review. I went back to try the phở. This place did not disappoint! Ordered carry out, the service was quick and the food was ready when I got there. The people who work there are super nice. And finally the broth was amazing and they included generous portions! So glad to find a Vietnamese place like this in Harrisonburg!

This place is hidden away in a strip mall near a Food Lion. Do not miss it. Craving some sort of Asian food, some friends and I decided to check this place out. What a decision. The spring rolls are to die for and our main course of chicken and noodles was delicious. It was so much food for a reasonable price. I was stuffed but could not stop eating. Next time you’re at jmu, give this place a try.

What a great find! We were on our way to Virginia Tech from Northern Va, and needed a restaurant along the way. I love vegetarian Phở, and theirs was delicious! And so were the Garden rolls with peanut sauce. I’m definitely adding Vietopia to our routine as we make these college trips.

We stopped in here to get a boba smoothie and a bite to eat. The food was very fresh and tasty! The boba smoothie was also one of the best I’ve had, mango is really yummy. I’ll definitely come back when I return to the area!

Legit vietnamese food in a small college town! We ordered the phở, bun thit nuong and spring rolls. I was amazed at the portion sizes which included generous cuts of good meat! I couldn’t finish my phở ga(all white meat chicken) and BF barely finished his bun thit nuong. I would definitely come back when in the area. It’s in the same complex as the Food Lion and next to a nail salon.

While vacationing @ Massenutten Resort I used my handy-dandy Unilocal mobile app to familiarize myself with some of the local restaurants with the best ratings. At the time of our visit Vietopia was one of the top ranked restaurants and being that we LOVE phở, this was a no brainer. — — — - [ DETAILS ] Date & Time — Tuesday, June 9th, 2015 @ 1:30pm Dining Companions — wife & children(2) What to expect — brightly lit strip mall corner unit. Service — efficient but slower than we expected for the amount of customers inside [ FOODSELECTION ] I can’t honestly say I loved anything, but I did find the food we ordered enjoyable. The prices were fairly reasonable probably in part because this is a college town. This marks my first Banh Mi experience, but definitely will not be my last. I’m a lifelong vegetarian, but the 27 reviews /4.5 stars drew me in. There is only one vegetarian option on the menu, the soup. My kids ordered that and I asked for vegetarian noodles. My husband ordered something with meat. The food was so beautiful that it seemed out of place there. The presentation caused me to gasp. It was very fresh and clean looking. I’ve never thought of food as clean looking. You can tell by looking at it that the chef cares about what he serves. He’s an artist, not a cook. It tastes as good as it looks. A couple of ladies came in looking for a buffet while we were waiting for our food. They glanced over the one page menu and left, saying they weren’t hungry after all. We laughed at their loss after our food arrived. They missed out on something special.

I was looking for something light but filling for dinner and was glad to have found Vietopia. The service is quiet but good. The restaurant was clean and tidy. The food was great. I ordered the grilled pork summer rolls, vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and spring rolls, and a vietnamese iced coffee. The summer rolls were huge! I don’t have a picture because I devoured them before I could as I was soo hungry. The coffee was perfect — strong and sweet, just how it should be. The noodle dish was delicious and the grilled pork was juicy and tasty. Whether you’re traveling through or you live here, this is a great place to dine.

On the way back from VT so searched for a phở restaurant as a halfway mark to DC. Decided to stop since restaurant received positive reviews on Unilocal. Restaurant is tucked away in a small strip mall behind mcDonalds next to Food Lion. The restaurant is clean, bright, and welcoming. Service was awesome. Struggled to decide to order phở or vermicelli bowl and decided to go with vermicelli bowl w pork and spring roll. And so glad I did! I’ve tried many vermicelli bowls from all over the place and this is the real deal. The pork was tender, moist, and flavorful. The spring roll was crispy and not greasy at all. The vermicelli noodles were warm and can tell was cooked fresh. Highly suggest to stop by, easy access from 81.

Very good experience here! The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. We were seated immediately, then given a glass of water and order was taken. The bowls of phở were on the table within 2 minutes, no joke. We probably would’ve waited longer at McD’s. The phở was very flavorful and fresh, and all of the proper fixings we’re readily available. The restaurant was also very easy to find, it was located in a shopping plaza behind the McDonald’s, and was very accessible from route 81. Great phở, quick and friendly service, clean, cheap and easy to find. 5 stars for sure!

NOTICE: place located behind McDonalds area. We are tourist here and GPS wasn’t that great. We were in the mood for something soupy and this place delivered. Great food and friendly staff. The Phở was great and my son enjoyed the grill chicken with shrimp. We are from NY where we don’t lack Vietnamese restaurants and we have to let the people of this area know that they have a nice gem here. When we went there(almost didn’t because of GPS) we didn’t see anyone but we are glad we tried it. If you are wondering whether to try it if empty don’t wonder and just go in. The food is great.

This is a nicer little jewel in the area. The phở is cooked to perfection. Soup has good flavors and did not need much of the condiments. The ice coffee with condensed milk was good too — not too sweet. The Ban Mi sandwich was fresh too. Nice kick from the pepper to boot. Folks are friendly and nice! Definitely a stop when in the mood for some good phở :)
