Bob Evans Restaurant

Friendly staff but awful service. We went on a holiday Monday morning and they must have been short staffed or something. We waited over 30 minutes to get our food. I am a regular visitor to this location and it’s never been this bad.

Cold coffee, food not that good, service left a lot to be desired– took forever to take my order– had to ask to get more coffee, took our plates before we were done eating, not very pleasant. You would be better off going to ihop or another breakfast place this just isn’t a very well run place.

Super friendly service for Sunday morning. Biscuits were a little slow to come out, but once they did, they were hot, fluffy, and delicious!

My girlfriend ordered online and expected to get an order of cinnamon hot cakes supreme sweet and stacked. We also ordered a turkey dinner which came with two sides and a desert. She ended up getting plain hot cakes with no syrup and one side and no desert. When we called to complain the manager andrea said that she wasn’t surprised our order was messed up, the kitchen never got the order. She told my girlfriend that they went off of what I said the order was. And she wasn’t surprised it wasn’t right.
Update: was refunded and given fresh food after bringing the order back and talking to Steve who went out his way to fix everything.

Nice staff — they gave me 2 extra chocolate chip cookies when I told them their cookies are the best I ever had, and I don’t usually like cookies but they forgot my order of banana nut loaf.

Honestly exactly what I expected. This weird drunk college kid got up on the loudspeaker and was saying stuff about omelettes, but then there weren’t any omelettes on the menu. Also got absolutely grilled by a small child and I was too uncomfortable to eat. Not much else to say on the matter. Rush pike and Texas Forever.

I used to love this place, especially for those breakfast cravings at lunch or dinner time. Sadly, the taste of the food has gotten bland and just so-​so. The wait to be seated has been ridiculous the last two times I visited. There were employees EVERYWHERE standing behind the counter (mostly socializing, a few appearing to be busy) while a manager with dark hair and glasses rang up customers. We waited a long time to be acknowledged. Instead of asking a server to seat us or work the register, the «manager» continued to ring up people while repeatedly stating it would just be a minute… But it was several minutes. It was a hassle. Probably not returning.

Ok where do i start… server brought our teas and 2 of the cups were dirty (paper dried to inside of cup… gross) got two new drinks in togo cups. …30 minutes later our food FINALLY comes & there’s hair in 2 of my childrens plates. They remake them at this point i’ve lost my appetite… i ask for a box so i can just take my food home and as i scrape it out what do i find??? Another hair! Food was promoed but we wasted 2 hours and our whole family (5people) left hungry and disappointed. Before we left we had to remind our server that we still had never received the french toast we had ordered. She apologized but laughed off the whole thing saying at least we got to go drinks! The manager walked past our table twice yet never stopped to address the problems we had which i find very unprofessional. This was our first visit ever and im disgusted at what i see. As i leave i can see people in the kitchen with no hats or hair nets and their hair down cooking the food. I will def. let everyone i know NOT to EVER eat here!

The food is great and the staff is awesome! We went in during JMU homecoming which is busy for the entire town. They got us seated quickly and were very attentive when we did sit. My big complaint is the manager, Terrell. He was barking orders and chastising his employees in front of customers. I understand they were busy but the employees were on top of it. No one was complaining. Actually most customers were saying that they were surprised how well the staff was doing. If I were one of his employees I would have left on the spot. That mistreatment of people in general just shouldn’t be tolerated.

Better than Denny’s or IHOP, but class wise, equivalent to the latter. The employees here go above and beyond to be friendly. Service was good but slow. Four stars not because they serve four star food, but because at this location, the exceptionally friendly service warrants the great rating. It was not just from one employee, but several. The food is just average breakfast food: eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, etc.

My husband and I were traveling up I-​81 last night – Saturday – and stopped at Bob Evans about 45 minutes before closing time, but were assured of full service. The spinach/​apple salad came with iceberg lettuce and no apples. The «famous» potato/​scallions/​bacon/​cheddar cheese soup came with neither scallions nor bacon and the «soup» tasted like water had been added to the cheese mix packet from a box of macaroni-​n-​cheese. We had to ask three times for water because the 2 servers and night manager were too busy sitting and chatting at the counter. For several hours afterward, our stomach’s felt slightly upset.
We were the only 2 customers in the entire store. Now we know why. When we travel, Bob Evans is frequently one of our favorite places to eat; however, in any future trips through H’burg, we’d prefer McD’s to the Bob Evans there any day! How disappointing.

As everywhere in Harrisonburg, service was very friendly. Food was fine — standard issue breakfast for this type of place.

I go here roughly once a week so my review is based more on long-​term experience versus a one-​time visit. That being said, this is one of the better places to eat in Harrisonburg, VA. The store is always clean and the staff is more competent than in most places here. The food is always good but my personal favorite is the spaghetti and galric bread. In my opinion it’s the best, not only in Harrisonburg but for miles around.
My only real complaint is sometimes the portion sizes are inconsistent but that’s usually a minor annoyance that is easy overlooked by the quality of the food. I always enjoy eating here.

The only thing bad I could say about this was: The glasses were not clean!!!
Now, having been in food service, I know this occasionally happens, but check the glasses before you send them out… please?
The food was great, the staff was friendly, and the price was quite right. An overall good experience. Except for my glass not being clean.

Great food, friendly people, good price. Try the pot roast sandwich and coconut crème pie for desert!
