My favorite place to grab food in JMU. Every time I go down from Ny I head right over

This is an extremely disappointing dining experience if you ever have the time to sit down and eat here. And trust me, you’re going to need a lot of time. Getting a beer delivered to the table when there are only 2 people at the bar and a scattering of people will take 7 – 10 minutes. Of course, the server getting through all the employees hanging out and socializing at the bar must be tricky so that can only be expected. If you server disappears for a while after saying«I’ll be right back with bread.» don’t worry too much. They will be back eventually… you hope. The food here is hit or miss. The nachos might be lukewarm but the chicken pot pie is actually pretty tasty. Your soup might taste like 3 day old salt(yes, they run their soup of the day specials for up to three days. Really? Is anyone not thinking leftovers at that point) but give the New Orleans pasta a shot. Wednesday’s are Free Pie Day. Order an entrée and get a free slice of pie. Sounds simple and economical, right? Well take a look at your receipt. No one should be charged $ 3.49 when the description of the item is 1 Free Apple Pie. The good news is that in the 20 minutes it takes for them to pick up your check(not hyperbole, I actually timed it and got 23 minutes) you will have plenty of time to review the check. Long story short, get the chicken pot pie to go. It’s tasty and you won’t have to deal with the travesty they call«service»

Had brunch early on a Sunday afternoon and pretty disappointed. Food was very slow to be served and when it was, the items were not hot. The omelette was rather bland tasting as well but perhaps that was due to the temperature. Our server apologized for the long wait but the restaurant was only about half full. Overall quite an unsatisfying dining experience so go elsewhere; there are better choices for the same money.

Had lunch at O’Charley’s today. Our server was very nice, but we think it was his first week, service was slow. His kindness made up for it. My chicken was very good as was the tilapia my mom ordered. However, the bruchetta that came with our meals was not very good, luckily it was easy to remove. Will go back, but will try something else. Not giving up after just one meal!

Love O’charleys salads! It has crunchy greens, nuts, strawberries, chicken and is just yummy. I usually get their honey mustard dressing as a substsitute dressing, just because I love it. I think the name of the one I get EVERY time I go(there are none near me in Maryland) is the California salad. The hot rolls are delicious too!

I really liked the pretzel burger and the steak at this place. The staff never left me waiting for a drink and the food arrived fast to the table. If I find myself back in this town I will eat here again.

Arrived and nobody greeted at door, but that is ok as I went straight to the bar. Problem. No body at the bar. Once someone showed he looked like a chicken with his head cut off, was unfamiliar with the liquor and just kept saying, «I’ll be right with you.» I left after about 10 minutes without even placing a drink order.

Came here for lunch on a Friday. Not too many people but had a nice ambiance. The waiter was kind, a little awkward though. I always look forward to the bread rolls they serve at the beginning and these didn’t disappoint. For the main course I ordered the chicken pot pie(lunch size) with the Caesar salad as a side. I had the salad come out first and it was superb. Probably one of the best Caesar salads I’ve ever had! So simple yet so good. The pot pie came out shortly after the salad arrived. The crust looked so good that at first I thought it was a miniature apple pie. The filling tasted great. If anything it could have used a little less salt. The crust was everything it should have been – light, flaky, buttery. It was so delicious I peeled off the part that went over the sides and took it with me to the car. Pricing was excellent, just $ 7.99 for everything I ordered. Overall one of the best O’Charley’s I’ve been to.

This was my first visit to an O’Charley’s and wasn’t sure what to expect. Went there for an impromptu lunch and our service was outstanding! Every request was satisfied with haste. Food was great and the menu had something for everyone. It was quite busy when I dined there as well. Would recommend and go back.

I am sitting here at the restaurant right now and the staff does not know how to clean the restaurant. The staff is young and immature. The kitchen staff does not know how to season food. I almost choked on my steak due to it being over salted.

I go to O’Charley’s for their loaded potato soup! It’s served with their melt –in-your-mouth hot rolls. Satisfying every time!

As far as chain restaurants go, it’s pretty good. Better than Applebee’s or Chili’s. The value was decent and the portion sizes were good. It’s a generic night out. Order the fried pickles; they’re good!

I’ve been to O’Charley’s twice now and both times were great. Last night I had the steak-salmon combo. The steak was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The salmon had a crisp bottom and soft interior and tasted great. Add a $ 4 tall beer and my night was made. I took away a piece of French silk pie. It seemed pre-made but was will yummy.

Food is okay. The meals are what you would expect from an O’Charley’s. Staff is very friendly! Great place to take the kids.

Gag! We’ve eaten at the O’Charley’s in Roanoke and loved it, but this location has put me off the chain forever. Yuck! We stopped on a Monday night and had to wait to be seated, so they were fairly busy. We ordered some hush-puppies for $ 6 as an appetizer. When they arrived, we got about six to seven and they were perfectly golden brown and looked delicious. When I bit into the first one, it was soft and chewy and I figured it was some«special filling» that O’Charley’s used. It wasn’t until my second bite that I realized it was raw dough! GAG! There was no special filling in these hush-puppies, except a lazy cook who rushed the frying process. We broke open a few of the other hush-puppies to find them in various stages of raw doughy consistency with full sized kernels of corn inside. Gross! Furthermore, who charges $ 1 a hush-puppy? I ordered Fish and Chips, and ended up with Shrimp, Fish and Chips, which would have been nice getting free shrimp and it not been a greasy nasty mess. Furthermore, they still messed up my order and the additional shrimp didn’t help. My wife got Chicken Fried Steak. The breading was nasty and disgusting, she had to pull off the breading to eat the chicken. The broccoli and cheese was stone cold and not edible. My daughter’s cheese-burger kid’s meal was okay, but the burger was dry when I tasted it. I would never recommend this restaurant. It was a total hot mess!

My friend and I stopped by on our way home to Manassas from a meeting in Harrisonburg. At first, I wasn’t to keen on going to a chain restaurant that I wasn’t familiar with, but I was glad we stopped! Our waiter went above and beyond and was extremely nice. We each ordered the blue cheese wedge salad(total props for that… not many places have it on the menu) and a bowl of soup. I have to say, the tomato basil soup was one of the best I’ve ever had, recommended by our waiter. I only give it four stars, as we only had the soup and salad, so I can’t speak for their regular entrees, but for what we had, it was totally 5 stars! We’ll definitely go there again when we are in Harrisonburg.

This restaurant always begs me to return and let’s me down every time. Do not eat here if you have a tight schedule. Groups of 4 or more should never attempt to eat here even if your schedule permits. You’ll be sorry and will leave thinking you’ve been there all day or night. The reason I go back is the food. It’s really good! The loaded potato soup is great, maybe even better than that. The service and atmosphere is great it just takes forever, even with just 2 or 3 for lunch. They can do better.

Stopped in on Election night thinking this was an Irish pub/restaurant. I know now it isn’t but still glad I came in. Kane was the bartender and was very accommodating. He changed the channels on the tv’s to Fox News to follow the election results. I ordered the southern fried chicken entrée with mashed potatoes, one of the $ 9.99 dinner specials. It also came with an additional side and a couple of warm dinner rolls. During happy hour, a Miller Lite went for $ 2.50. Loved the service and the food! I hope to be back someday soon.

I grew up in NC and went to O’Charleys quite a few times over the years. I’ll say right now that this is a chain restaurant & it is in the South so you have to expect some factors to apply. First off, their signature is their large rolls that come with your food. These are VERY good. Another signature is their chicken tenders. Second, comparing this to Ruby Tuesday is comparing apples to oranges. Ruby Tuesday epitomizes generic casual dining fare and is in far more places. When I went here with my husband, we got above and beyond service from our server, Harmonie. She was right on top of things and did not slack off, even though it was a Sunday afternoon and few people were in the dining room. She also made a sincere effort to be friendly and seemed to care about our dining experience. She even gave us fresh rolls to take with us when I asked for a to-go box for my chicken tenders + fries and got us a second plastic bag that we needed for traveling purposes. As people who don’t live near any location of O’Charleys or their northern equivalent 99, that made our day. Another great thing is that at the O’Charley’s locations I’ve been to, they typically include red cabbage in the salad. This one did not, which is awesome since not everyone likes it(including me). The only downside is that the booth I was in had some kind of mess on it and the plate I had for my bread was a tad dirty. Otherwise, if you have been to O’Charley’s before, you won’t be disappointed going to this location. If we were ever in the area again, we’d likely ask to be seated in her section.
