No service issues like others experienced. Good bagels with seeds and such on both sides. No lox just lox cream cheese.

We are long time Burg residents. While the food remains good, the place was filthy when we were there. A female worker was also shouting obscenities while I had my two children in there. Things need to change or we won’t be back.

My husband and I stopped here on our way back home to new Jersey. I wanted a bagel before our 5 hour drive home. That being said, I am biased. I am used to jersey bagels. I found the bagel here almost to be a little dry. The cream cheese was delicious. We only purchased bagels so I cannot speak on any of their other breakfast items. Sunday morning around 10am this place was packed. Line am the way out to the door. It moved fairly quickly though. The place is clean and staff was somewhat friendly. Bathroom was clean as well.

Who takes five minutes to order a plain Bagel? That would be Me! Expect some NY ‘tude and live with it! Super eBay Bride got some tasty Breakfast Bagel that was like a Sandwich! If you want it Warm? Ask? Maybe??? I did not ask! Cops(I mean the Police(not Stings Group) Men in Baluea) LOVE this place so watch yourself in here! We got out just in time to meet more Uniformed Officers of the Law in the lot! At least it was not the«Men in White»

Their bagels remind me of my days at JMU! 20 years later, they are just as tasty as I remember. Our family ordered various sandwiches to go and everyone loved their choice.

Great bagels and great bagel sandwhiches. The everything bagel with lox and tomatoes is what I go for. What makes their bagels better is the fluffiness and the goodies on both sides of the bagel in stead of just one.

We went to this place on July 4th for breakfast. It was across the street from our hotel. The bagels were very fresh. We enjoyed our breakfast. This is must try if you are in the area and want good, fresh bagels.

The homemade, local food at this place is on point. The price is nice too!

Very tasty bagels! Very generous with the cream cheese however, service was not very friendly and no one looked happy to be there.

I was passing through on my way back south after moving for my work originally from NJ/NY. This is a pleasant find when you need your bagel fix! I even got my beloved NJ staple: Taylor ham, egg and cheese in a bagel!(They didn’t ask if I wanted SPK which is an automatic) The bagel was pretty good, but my only critique is that the size of the bagel was a bit on the smaller side compared to up in NJ/NY. I will definitely hit this place up again if I’m driving through the area before noon!

This small franchise has been pushing mediocre bagels with subpar ingredients for way too long. This location is the worst of all. The past two visits my orders have been severely messed up. The service is atrocious. You are either treated rudely or ineptly. If you are looking for a good New York style bagel with deli grade meats, drive another 45 minutes to Charlottesville to go to Bodo’s. This place is Busch league. Oh and their coffee sucks too. You can get better at McDonalds up the street.

Excellent bagels great service and the eggs are cooked on a real grill(not microwaved). Coffee is also excellent, obviously there is a prideful owner.

Some of the best bagels anywhere. I’ve had many bagels from NYC to Miami, and this little shop in Harrisonburg puts out an excellent product. Egg & cheese breakfast bagel is great, and the cream cheese is made in-house. There’s a reason this place has lines every morning for the past few decades.

I never imagined anyone can enjoy their weekly sodium intake in one bagel. I couldn’t taste my first bite of my sandwich made on a Everything bagel. I spent the next 10 min picking the salt off the bagel. I could only finish half. Way too salty!!! Can’t tell if if was good or not. Would not not recommend to anyone I care for.

Came in around 10am to a significant line of folks. Expected a great deal as a result, but left generally less than satisfied. I ordered the breakfast special on an egg bagel. The bagel and cheese were great. The sausage and egg egg were passable. Can’t put my finger on why, but the potatoes served there were not good. My wife ordered with a plain bagel and black forest ham, she said it needed seasoning. The price was what was expected for a bagel sandwich, $ 3.99. While waiting in line, had a chance to look around. It was during these minutes that I saw my primary issue with this place, cleanliness! Specifically on the ceiling, vents by the counter and elsewhere had too much dust/dirt. So while Everything was passable and would have received three stars, I would not recommend this place based on its cleanliness.

Good bagels! The one on route 42 only has one highchair. Busy when students are here on weekend mornings. Worth the wait.

Best bagels in the ‘burg. Loved going there for breakfast as a JMU student & love going back when I visit. Very busy & bustling on the weekends, so the service isn’t the friendliest, but the food comes out fast. I always opt for a breakfast sandwich, but they also offer regular, lunch-style sandwiches too, along with some assorted pastries. For me, Mr. J’s remains a Harrisonburg breakfast staple.

Went to JMU, and used to come in here on occasional weekend mornings for breakfast. Maybe it was the hangover, but whatever it was, I thought the place was decent. I was recently back in the area, and wow, what a disappointment. Talk about employees with sticks up their butts. No surprise tho, they always seemed disgruntled. Anyways, I took 2 bites of my breakfast and couldn’t eat the rest. A sad looking egg, chewy bacon, and half a piece of cheese on a roll… terrible. I’m not difficult when it comes to food, but how do you mess up a bacon, egg, and cheese when you serve them all the time? If it’s still around, go to Cinnamon Bear, because this place is 100 times better.
