Great place to hang out with friends and chat. Strange but good bar food that surpasses most bars and the servers are very nice. I wouldn’t recommend you get lunch here they don’t have any real entrées but their donuts are very good… love the psycho girl scout donut! Overall just a much nicer cleaner fun-er bar type hang out spot!

Service was delightful. Food was fantastic. I had the Mac n cheese steak w/fries. My folks in my party went with sliders and sticky nuggs. All of them enjoyed. Place was packed at 230pm on a Sunday afternoon. Love the old time AMERICAN pub décor

Fun place to eat and hangout. Good wings, the flank steak and Mac and cheese sandwich was outstanding along with delicious homemade donuts. The décor is college hangout/dive which is what made it fun to dine. Service excellent and prices reasonable

Mostly a junk food /bar food menu, but oh-so-good! I tried the«Redneck Nachos» — kettle cooked chips topped with house smoked park, Mac-n-cheese, sautéed onions, bacon, blackened ranch, jalapeños, and scallions. It was DELICIOUS! It could have easily been shared between 3 – 4 people as an appetizer. We also got the box of applewood smoked bacon” as an appetizer. Really good bacon! Nice and crispy, the way I like it! Leave room for dessert! The«Psycho Girl Scout» donut was sooo good! It is a mini donut with peanut butter, chocolate, and burnt marshmallow! Yum!

Crispy wings. Sweet little dive with downtown charm. Haven’t tried anything but the wings and donuts. Will be back to sample something off the brunch menu.

Every time I happen to be around the area, I always make a effort to stop in here. It often gets crowded at nights but if you can find a table or barstool it’s definitely worth checking out. Cool atmosphere, lots of great mixed drinks and they always have good beers on hand. The food is tasty too I almost always get the chicken and waffles with the Muddy Pig doughnut(nutella and bacon).

The wait staff here is top notch! If you’re looking for healthy options then look somewhere else. If you like fried stuff, burgers/sliders and beer(also good happy hour deals) then I would send you here. Their rotating beer selection is great and I love the look and feel of their bar and tables. My favorites here are sticky nuggs with nuggy sauce and their Greg Brady sliders(mac & cheese with martins bbq chips on wagyu beef)

The Habanero«Shocker» was definitely a shocker. Although the spice level was perfect(nice and hot like habaneros), the sauce seemed to taste more like buffalo sauce than habanero. The BBQ and cheddar boneless wings that my friend got were on point, though! They looked fattening as hell, but they tasted just as good. Finished off with a Muddy Pig donut. It was alright, kinda weird with the bacon addition. I only went here once, all I can say from just that one trip is it was alright. Nice atmosphere, roomier than Billy Jack’s. But I’d like to go back again to try out more things from the menu before I can really form an opinion of this restaurant.

Great place to go! Got here around 11:30 and it wasn’t too packed until we were about to leave. Prices are pretty good and a variety of drink options. Their menu options are pretty small but it was good none the less. I decided to get the sliders and you can get two different types with fries. I chose a wyagu beef one and the fried chicken. Both were delicious. The fried chicken was fried so crisp and the flavor had a kick to it. The beef reminded me of Krystal’s burgers. I also added cheese to my fries(oops). And it doesn’t taste like the fake cheese most restaurants put on cheese fries. The person I went with tried the pulled pork slider and wasn’t a fan, he said the taste was bland. But the grilled chicken slider he got was good. Our server was attentive and patient since it was our first time here. They have 12 rotating drafts that I opted not to try as well as a few donuts — but there’s always next time!

Let me just start by saying… WHOA!!! In my Kevin Hart Voice *HEWAAASN’T REAAADDDDY!!!* Well guess what Unilocalers«YOUGONNALEARNTODAY!» I recently spent some time at Massanutten Resorts, and instead of being lazy and eating at the resort. I got out and wanted to see what foods they had in the area that were any good. I believe this was the second place we hit, and BOOOOOOM!!! «Mind Blown». When we walked in the lace was rather crowded, and we were lucky to find the second to last empty table in the house. We’re glancing over the menu and look at each other with an all to «I found something that sounds awesome look» and at the same time say«Red Neck Nachos»??? With a sense of curiosity, and wonder. So we order it immediately. I then order the 10 napkin burger, and my lady orders the sliders. Best mistake ever! The nachos come out, and its literally enough to feed 3 people. It had kettle chips, pulled pork, mac n cheese, thick cut bacon, crumbled bacon, ranch dressing, and almost everything but the kitchen sink. this thing was ridiculous!!! Then the rest of our food comes out and we’re just like, damn! My burger was amazing, and I love the fact that there is a sheet at the table in which to fill out just how ridiculous you want to get with your burger. The service was awesome, and at the end our waitress introduced us to what is known as the«psycho girlscout donut» which had peanut butter, chocolate, and burnt marshmellow on it… If I never go to massanutten resort again I will be coming back for a second round of billy jacks! treat yourself people!!! ALRIGHTALRIGHTAAAAAALLLLRIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!

We visited on a Sunday afternoon in July, so the college crowd wasn’t in(in fact, it was at that odd time between lunch and dinner, so the place was almost completely empty). We had a group of 7(plus one infant) and we took over the area near the front door. Beer selection here was interesting. We were surprised to see Lionshead so far south. Many of us had the ginger lager that was on tap. It was refreshing and delicious. The fried pickles were amazing. We got one order and it was so good we got two more orders. Husband had the chicken and waffles which he said were really good. I had one of their 10 napkin burgers. First off, when they let you order your pinkness level, they aren’t kidding! I like my burgers rare and it was. You choose a variety of toppings and I had mine with a fried egg, mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, cheese, and mayo. It was superb, one of the best burgers of my life. Their french fries were excellent. Crispy on the outside and well seasoned. My friend ordered their mac n cheese steak sandwich which was basically a cheesesteak with macaroni and cheese inside of it. Her words were«why has no one done this before?». Understand that she’s from philly. Our waitress was great, friendly and willing to put up with our loud, and slightly intoxicated group. One thing to note is that they do require two forms of ID to drink(one photo and one with the same name such as a credit card). I guess they have a lot of fake ids come through from the local university.

My wife and I have embarked on an oft-Yelp-propelled culinary journey. She and I travel a great deal, and enjoy better-than-usual dining experiences. Rather than exit a thruway at stomach’s first growl to be victimized by the ‘hit-and-run’ fare that often passes for food around exit ramps, we use Unilocal to guide us to high-rated places within 10 minutes of the thruway. This was one of them. Any doubt that Harrisonburg is a college town disappears upon entering this fine establishment. From the floor to ceiling, this place is clearly set up to appeal to the sports/college crowd. The decibel level(my only complaint) was appropriate to the clientele as well. My wife(a commercial interior designer) marveled at why the management didn’t put some slightly-better acoustic treatment on the walls or ceilings(and had to raise her voice to point that out). If you’re looking for a quiet, romantic dinner for two, this ain’t it. But 5 stars is how I rated this one, and there’s a reason for that. Everything else was perfect, absolutely perfect. From the server’s attentive, enthusiastic service, to the absolutely stunning food combinations, presentations, and of course, taste, we concluded that it just didn’t get much better. Of course I had a burger, and although I do not consider myself a burger ‘connoisseur,’ per se, the burgers and fries here are simply awesome, not just in size, but in flavor. My wife would vouch for the rarity of my exclaiming«TBO» out loud in a restaurant, but I did so here — in a slightly-raised voice so my wife could hear me… ;) Food, service, drinks, … everything. Although we live hundreds of miles away, we would go here AGAIN. And we will.

Wasn’t really impressed with food. Annoyed that I could not order 1 extra slider to add to my order. They wanted to order a whole additional order. So they lost on money there. They were big and good but not great. Wings were ok and not really as hot as they make them out to be. Was very annoyed that if I ordered 12 they won’t put 2 diff sauces the wings forcing me to order another order. Place is just there to make you spend as much as they possibly can. Wouldn’t go back when I come down to visit my family again.

Great place for the college budget crowd. Took the teenagers here for lunch. We were able to satisfy their appetites without blowing a ton of money. We all opted for the sliders. You can mix and match any two and it comes with fries for $ 7.95. I got the Greg Brady and fried chicken slider combo. The boy got the Greg Brady and the 50⁄50 combo. The Daddy/Daughter duo ordered the Greg Brady and pulled pork combo. We have all had the Greg Brady hamburger at the sister restaurant next door and it’s a family favorite. For those not in the know it is a burger with Mac and cheese and Route 11BBQ chips. Amazing to say the least. The pulled pork came with cole slaw on top and looked pretty good. The 50⁄50 burger consists of beef and bacon ground up into a party served with cheese. I’m told that it too was quite good. The fried chicken slider is served with cheese, pickle and their own special sauce. This is a much better chicken sandwich than chic-fil-a and that says a lot because I love those. We also had the sticky nugs for an appetizer. So good! Service was great she kept our drinks filled and was there but not intrusive. Highly recommend this place to all!

A menu for the artistic collegiate community of JMU I ordered sliders and my husband ordered wings and chili. My crab cake slider was on point! My wayhu slider was topped with Mac n cheese plus bbq potato chips. Both were savory and the right portion since I had a very large breakfast earlier. I was very satisfied. My husband’s chili on the other hand was cold and his wings were dry. I told him he should have ordered the special(sliders) Service was quick, friendly and helpful

Jack Brown’s Pirate Brother, Billy Jacks is one of the best dive bars I’ve been to. More rotating craft beers on tap and now with moonshine cocktails. A lot bigger than Jack Brown’s so its easier to get in and eat. Great in summertime because they open up all the windows. Have not been since they started with their oyster raw bar. Their sticky nuggs are so stinkin’ good! I like Thai or BBQ with bacon and cheddar. Love their mix and match slidders too. Can’t go wrong with their wagyu, 50⁄50 combo of beef and bacon(yes they did!), crab cake, or fried chicken slidder. By far the best thing for me thought is their Brunch! Huge caraffes of mimosas or bloody mary’s. They have chicken and waffles, eggs benedict with crab cakes on top, and huge burritos. Their donuts which they serve all the times are also out of this world. I like Barb’s desk drawer or Dirty Duo.

Billy Jacks hits it out of the park whether you’re out for beers with a group of friends, or grabbing a hungover brunch on a Sunday morning. Today, I was on the come-down from a massive hangover and needed some delicious food and bubbly orange juice. For brunch in Harrisonburg, you just can’t beat Billy Jacks. Beginning with the hair of the dog, we ordered a mimosa carafe for the table. It definitely did the trick, staving off the hangover for a few more hours. Next I ordered the chicken and waffles benedict off the brunch menu. It was amazing. Under a perfectly runny egg on one side of the dish was two fluffy, buttery waffles. On the other side was a juicy chicken breast with a salty, crispy coating. I thought the combination of hollandaise, maple syrup, and hot sauces would’ve been too much but it all somehow worked together.(That being said, I wouldn’t recommend dumping both containers of sauce onto everything. Dipping selectively worked better). And the green onions in the hollandaise was a nice touch. Another win for BJs!
