Can’t beat Chilito’s $ 8.95 lunch specials(: my fave is the yummy Chili Verde, rice & beans, with drink included(non-alcohol). The beans are soooo delicious, too! When dining at restaurants I sometimes ask for substitutions, and Chilito’s is awesome about letting you ‘have it your way’ when requests are kept reasonable. Sometimes a bit too noisy for my comfort zone, since the tables are pretty close to each other but the food & service make up for any annoyances. I visit every 4 – 6 weeks and service is always excellent(:

Very nice clean area. Smelt so good when we walked in. The servers were very friendly and we both enjoyed our meal. Music was not traditional but good olé school jams are always nice. The bad is there was a over 40 year old group that was very rowdy and loud and obnoxious. Not there fault though so give it a try!

Ate dinner here because it was close to the Hampton Inn where I was staying. Not impressed! On the plus side, the place is clean, perhaps TOO clean as I caught the distinct odor of disinfectant or cleaning fluid. It’s brightly lighted and, as noted by other reviewers, noisy with loud music. It’s sort of a combo restaurant and sports bar, and the bar was packed. But it’s pleasant enough if you like that sort of thing. And the wait staff was friendly and efficient. HOWEVER, the food, while plentiful and well prepared, is bland. It’s more like what you would find at an El Torito or other gringo«Mexican» restaurant. Your Tia Maria’s cocina it ain’t! I tried the 3-item combo to get a taste of everything. The crispy chicken taco(you have a choice of soft or crispy) was very bland, just plain white-meat chicken, iceberg lettuce, and grated cheese in a pre-fab taco«shell.» The chili relleno was OK, but it was smothered in an odd white sauce(maybe the was a bit of cheese in it, but not enough to be sure). The carnitas sope was decent — the carnitas were pretty good but the masa base was a bit undercooked. What was really strange was the squeeze bottle of salad dressing that was served with it(it seemed to be ranch, but maybe blue cheese). Now, that’s just damn weird in a Mexican restaurant. However, the salsa seemed home made and was decent, although not very spicy. The Central Valley is full of really great little Mexican restaurants, often family or chef owned. Look for one of those places if you want authentic Mexican food; go to Chilito’s only if you think Taco Bell is the real thing.

These guys have got great food! What else are you looking for? The carnitas are to die for, there is lard in the beans, the salsa is authentic. The service is great, the beer is on tap and cold. Have been here several times for lunch and dinner and have not been disappointed! Just wish we lived closer so we could visit more often!

Best Mexican food in Hanford. Why not 5 stars? Because still not the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The chimichanga is awesome along with the chili rellano, tamales, chicken taco, beans, salsa and enchiladas! The chili verde is ok but the homemade tortillas rock! However, the carne Asada was fatty but good flavor. The rice is also just«ok». The server(Camilla?) was awesome and the environment was clean and quiet. I DEFINITELY will be going back.

In this small town I would expect excellent customer service any place I go, but just like tarasco this place has horrible servers. You would think since these people love off their tips they would be greeting you with open arms and smiles. It’s a disappointment to not even be greeted when you walk in a place after 6 minutes of standing at the doorway some girl who was drinking a drink finally approached us to only say sorry we ran out of food. It was 7:20 pm on a weekday. It shouldn’t ever take this long to tell customers that or to even acknowledge them. Places like these don’t deserve second chances!

Ordered some food for take out. BLOWNAWAY by the customer service! The woman that helped me was thorough, catered to my picky-style veggie burrito I ordered, got me some chips and salsa while I waited, and smiled the whole time. Had to give her a $ 5 and 5 stars for this one. I haven’t even tasted my food yet but I’m sure it will be great. Thank you! I’ll be back!

Extranet clean and nice facility. Nice waiters and staff. Good food. Pollo suizo was very very tasty with just the right amount of spice. Sopes were homemade and meat was tender. Beans were hot and rice was the standard spiced Mexican rice. Loved the hand made tortillas too. What I loved was how clean this place was. Floors, tables, walls. Everything was spotless. Even the cooks had their hair covered with caps. This is really what I appreciate. The attention to detail is what I expect, paying attention to the needs of the customers.

If you say the food here isn’t good, I think you are tripping son! I’ve had weekend menudo and the breakfast(green chile & eggs) and it is OFFTHECHAINSON! Good food, very low pricing throughout menu. Very large menu as well, numerous options. Breakfast served all day and weekends = menudo! Y yo soy experto en la tema de comida mexicana. Este lugar tiene un buen menú, los meseros son chidos y me encanta los precios por que soy bien penchi tacaño !!!

My hubby and I love this place. Good food, good beer, good staff. They’re always friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place over others in Hanford any day. Definitely worth the try.

Well, this is not authentic Mexican food. The names of the dishes certainly are, but the taste leaves a lot to be desired. You could get more flavor from a Banquet frozen dinner. Further, the portions are in line with Weight Watchers. While the salsa is tasty, the chips are straight from a bag and small. Much like the chips that are left over at the bottom of a dorritos bag. The wait staff was friendly and prompt in taking our order, and the food arrived fairly quickly. Then again, it would be served fast since the food tastes as though it came straight from the freezer to plate. Lastly, I ordered a drink from the bar, through the waitress. It took 15 minutes to be served. As I went back to the restroom I realized why. There is a younger, female bartender leaning over the bar giving special attention to one of the men at the bar. As expected, she was inappropriately dressed for the job, but appropriately dressed for the googling eyes of the males at the bar. The waitress told me the bartender should have been dressed in the restaurants uniform. Bottom line, and to use an acronym I made up for places like this. This place serves MAT(makes a turd) meals. I can’t even say this is a reasonably priced restaurant. For what you spend you should walk away feeling satisfied whether it be from quantity or quality which Chilitos misses on both.

Let me start off by explaining my rating, one star. One star because of the employee who offered my boyfriend a cup of water while he was waiting for our food to be done. The burritos are done to taste and look like a Tijuanian sewer system. Just a bunch of ingredients you wouldn’t expect revuelto in an overpriced burrito. Shredded cheddar cheese in a «authentic» burrito? Definitely do not recommend. Not authentic at all. Surprised they’re still open but hopefully it’s not for long.

Had heard good things from a friend of this place, but they must have been having a bad night. Upon walking in it was obvious they cater to the non-Mexican crowd. Our server was prompt and was very nice and personable. While waiting for our meal there were several young kids whole belonged to a group of adults in the bar area. They were running around, screaming, yelling and playing around. Pretty much the parents where in the bar, and we were in the day care section. The waiter just stood by and looked. Eventually the mother came in and would say«ohhhh how cute.» Really lady??? This happened for awhile. Thankfully as the food arrived they left, but then came a strong odor of weed as they walked out. What is wrong with this place? My crane asada burrito was mostly rice. Good taste but not enough meat. Will probably never come here again but I’m glad I got it out of my system to try it out.

The food is great for the most part! We had the carne asada burrito and carnitas plate. The service was fast(thank God because there were four kids running around screaming, fighting, and wrestling and the management did nothing about it). They did accidentally give me flour tortillas instead of corn, and the rice didn’t have much flavor. Had we noticed the clientele first we probably would not have stayed. One of the parents of the unruly kids almost got in a fight with another guy and someone really smelled like weed. Instead of doing something about it when when we mentioned it management just apologized. Also they were playing country… I like country but what kind of Mexican food place plays country?

Gotta check out their Micheladas ! Great chips and salsa :) lots of TV ‘s but still holds the old spirit of El Pueblo when it was alive and kicking ! We have had their breakfast and lunch and highly recommend both ! Julia does a great job behind the bar and servers are friendly and quick.

The Good: Drinks are well priced and the Bar area is nice with outside seating. During Happy Hour the drinks are dirt cheap. The Bad: Service was good, except they take a long time to serve the food so do not go there hungry. I went there during the morning time when no one was there and it took an abnormal time to get our simple plates of food. Specially since I ordered the Menudo which all you have to do is pour spoon full into the bowl… The Ugly: The food, a friend ordered a breakfast plate and I got the Menudo. I had canned Menudo taste better and he definately was not happy with his burnt strips of bacon, a spoon full of diced potatoes, and egg. It was disappointing. I’ll probably go back to this place to drink, but I’m not touching their food.

Amazing food and amazing service! The chips and slasa were so fresh and delicious!, and the bean dip was out of this world! We didn’t pay for our chips and salsa as another customer had stated previously. The service was excellent! Fast, curtious and right ontop of anything we needed even before we asked! The food was delicious! The best Mexican food I’ve ever had here in Hanford! The staff catered to my children’s needs.)You know how kids can be picky!)The staff was beyond friendly and fun! We enjoyed ourselves immensely and will definently become regulars there! Highly recommend this restaurant! Ps– huge variety of beer on tap and a full bar… Prices were extremely reasonable!
