I called around 5:15 for a table for two & thankfully they were able to get us in at 5:30. It’s very cozy, the décor tastefully done, & there’s a warm & inviting atmosphere. The customer service is very attentive & gave us good reason to come back. My husband had the salmon with potato & broccoli. I had the eggplant parmigiana. Both were delicious. The ingredients were fresh. I gave 5 stars because the food is fresh & delicious, service is great & the atmosphere is nice.

I LOVE this place. Granted I’ve only been there once so far, but I can’t wait to go back. My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it was so perfect. We absolutely loved our meals and you could just tell they were made with a lot of artistry and thought. Everything tasted divine! I believe I ordered some type of squash stuffed ravioli with some amazing sauce on it. Our dessert was delicious too… Just wow. Such a great place. We will be back definitely!

Once again could not get past the butternut squash ravioli! Was not disappointed again. So good. Papardella wide noodle pasta dish was shared — also quite good. The salad seemed to be not as good as in the past. Little disappointed that $ 25 certificate could not be used for dine for two specials.

Excellent Italian food. Restaurant is quite small and has incredible service, the atmosphere is intimate and romantic. Good place for small groups or dates. Has a good wine and food special($ 42 for 2 entrees and a bottle of wine). Would recommend getting a reservation.

I was very put out by them yesterday. We have an event to go to and I want to eat at 6:30 so I called to make sure they can get us in at that time. We arrived on time and there were 2 empty small tables. They told us it will be a wait unless we want to sit at the bar. When I asked about the empty tables they told us that was for another reservation of 4. They told us that we have to wait for another table that will be finishing up I looked around and the only table that is close to finish hasn’t had desserts yet. When I asked how long they were not able to tell me how long we wound have to wait. They shouldn’t take my reservation if they can’t get me in. If anyone should wait it should be the other party who was late not me who is on time. Not pleased.

I didn’t know there was food this good in GP, this might be my first five star review. Colleen and the kitchen staff were all incredible. Had the escargot, mussels and halibut. A++++++

I suppose management thinks it’s just a little thing, but the specials menu is one of the things that made us regulars. Sometimes we would all order from the specials menu, and then splurge on desserts. Other times two of the four of us would order from the specials menu, and the other two from the regular menu. That happy practice shifted off balance when the restaurant dropped the lasagna from the specials menu, apparently because it was too popular, and Café Nini is no longer on our monthly restaurant rotation. What next? Will Ford stop making the F150? Will Apple drop the iPhone?

All these reviewers must be friends and family — service is substandard for this type of restaurant — pasta overlooked and everything lacked flavor and salt — their other restaurant was very good for a long time — no reason to ever go back — extremely disappointing

Wonderful food and ambiance! The veal was delicious. Took my mother there and she loved the food and experience as well. Having traveled all over the country and to Europe I’m a little bit of a food snob. This place doesn’t disappoint! Prices are consistent with what you would expect to pay at a high end Italian restaurant.

This small intimate bistro is always outstanding. Whether you try there pasta or other traditional Italian cuisine they all seem to be cooked to perfection. The ambiance is simple but warm and makes for a relaxing setting. The severs have all been really accommodating with special request. Everyone has always been really pleasant makes you want to to come back over and over. The prices are not cheap and I do feel there just a little expensive for the setting. Again the ambiance is warm and cute but no way justify the markup of the prices. I guess when the food is this consistent and service is this good I guess you can justify the prices? The only thing I know is that I love this place and always have a great meal so make a reservation and try this spot out!

Can’t beat the food, service, or price. The atmosphere started out quiet at 6:30, but by 7:00, it was pleasantly loud and busy. The chicken piccata was really nice, and the sauce it was in was amazing. They were very happy to accommodate and make the menu gluten free. The staff knew how to adapt most menu items. The $ 42 for two menu had plenty of choices and sides, and a bottle of wine to boot!

Eaten here twice since last review. Every meal was a threat to my waistline. Delicious, tasty, elegantly Italian. Service grows only more polished, they even added a shade to the large table in the window so that the evening sun doesn’t disrupt with glare. Relatives who buy truffles BYTHEKILO ate here as well — and commented, in a wonderful understatement, «hey, this place is good». Seriously, until someone shows me better, this is the best Italian food in the Detroit area. Always look forward to going; the only disappointment is that without a reservation, there’s no way you’re getting in on a Friday or Saturday evening…

My fiancé and I are new to the area and are really happy some of his colleagues introduced us to Café Nini! We went there on a Saturday night a few months back and everyone was thoroughly impressed with everything. They were offering a set menu for $ 25 I believe?(don’t quote me on that) which include appetizer, entrée, desert and a bottle of wine. I had the tortellini… and it was fantastic. We’re definitely going to be regulars at Café Nini. The service was also the best I’ve experience since I moved to Michigan! Really great spot.

Hands down the best fine dining restaurant in the Pointes. The food, the drinks, the service, the ambiance… everything is outstanding. You won’t go wrong with this small little gem of a restaurant.

We were delighted with this find on our recent first visit. Although small and fully packed with diners, we were rapidly seated per our reservation and service was attentive. The salads were delicious, although a bit small in portion size. My wife had wonderful salmon with lobster sauce… delicious. I had chicken stuffed with prosciutto, spinach, and cheese, cooked in a sherry/mushroom sauce and it was tender, juicy, tasty… excellent! They subbed pasta for potato as my starch, although, again, a small serving. The freshly baked rolls were great, as was dessert, although the dessert choices were a bit limited. There was nothing for the true chocoholic looking for a «pure» chocolate experience… everything either had white cream or vanilla ice cream mixed in.

Great food, great service! I brought my very well behaved 4 year old to dinner and while they don’t have a kids menu, they offered to make her a kid size portion of pasta. Very cool! I always like places that are receptive to kids! The chicken and veal tortellini was amazing! Will definitely visit again(and bring more friends).

I love Café Nini! Grosse Pointe has many Italian Restaurants, but if you want a sophisticated ambiance, great food, and a cozy atmosphere, this is the place to go! The filet and chicken Marsala are my favorite entrees. The bread and salad are perfect for an Italian critic. The décor is what I prefer, white tablecloths and nice art work. The restaurant is a lively place in the evening, and is one of the«places to be seen» hotspots. Reservations are highly recommended. Lunch offerings include wonderful paninis and amazing salads. Experienced and professional waitstaff.

This is a hidden gem in Grosse Pointe on the Hill. A tiny and cozy space to meet, greet and eat! Hmmm. That doesn’t sound quite right — but the food is great! They have a killer deal, too. Two entrees with salads, warm rolls and a bottle of wine for $ 39.95. I had perch in lobster sauce with steamed vegetables and delicious mashed potatoes and my friend had vegetarian lasagne. We both LOVED our meals. Although it wasn’t part of the special, we added a shared tiramisu and coffees to the list. We paid around $ 30 each, including dessert and tip. A worthwhile splurge! I will definitely go back. You should check it out…
