I’m not sure what all the hype is about this place. It was pretty disappointing. My husband and I went there for a nice date and my favorite part was the fresh bread. That’s about it.
Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish?! I’m not sure. But there other place on the Hill, Café Nini, is waaaaaay better in my opinion. I even preferred that atmosphere over Da Eduardo.

Love this place! The calamari is to die for! I could eat it every day! Chicken marsala is fabulous, amongst many other dishes. Some of the servers have worked here for years & are the most attentive & professional wait staff. They have a special menu on Tuesdays, absolutely worth checking out!

We celebrated a special occasion here this past weekend. Everything from the service to the food was outstanding. Keep up the good work!

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary dinner. It was our first time. We had a
gift certificate. That was the main reason we decided to eat here, it would have been a little too expensive without a gift certificate. I made a reservation on the phone. Usually at nice restaurants they ask you when calling if there is a special occasion, but they did not. The waiter didn’t ask either. It really wasn’t a big deal, just odd. Anyway, the restaurant is very nice looking. The interior was very nicely decorated, and the lighting wasn’t too bright. Nice and dim. We were seated in a nice booth that was sort of private. We ordered pizza for an appetizer, which was pretty good. Next was the minestrone, which came with our meals. It was pretty good, and I’m not the biggest minestrone fan. My husband ordered lamb shank with mushroom risotto, he liked it enough. I don’t think it was his favorite, but he ate the whole plate. I ordered the lobster ravioli. It was DELICIOUS! That was probably the best lobster ravioli I’ve ever had. I’m still dreaming of it today. Our waiter was nice, but seemed a little rushed. I don’t know if they were understaffed, or if maybe they had a large party coming in. A little slow with the drink refills, but we did eventually get them. I would like to come back. My husband and I both wore nice jeans and nice shirts. In case anyone wondered about a dress code.

I had to wait for more than a couple minutes to be seated. This misstep was not acknowledged by any of the staff… disappointing. My waitress (was quite attentive and polite. I’ve been craving a good Italian dish (lasagna). I hope I came to the right place. I’ll let u kno.

Food was very good. Service was painfully slow. Nice atmosphere outdoor seating available but you may have to beg to get waited on

We had our rehearsal dinner at Da Edoardo’s of Grosse Pointe and it was absolutely perfect. We visited so many restaurants looking for just the right location to hold a large party of 70 people. Da Edoardo’s handled everything with ease. We worked with Kathy, and she was always so accommodating with whatever we needed to make our rehearsal dinner exactly the way we wanted it. We had our own private room in the back. We were able to create our own customized menu. The food and service was spectacular the whole night. So many of our family and friends came from out of town, and they raved about how wonderful the whole night was. The environment was cozy and elegant at the same time. If anyone is in search of the perfect venue for their rehearsal dinner, definitely check it out!

Ok, I had one of those «down turn» experiences that so many people on here have been complaining about. Our waiter was a guy, don’t remember his name, but he was horrible. Older guy, middle aged, heavier and balding (if management actually takes the time to read these). The girl that I was with was from Brazil, spoke broken English, and needed me to explain some of the menu to her in Spanish (FWIW, yes I know Portuguese is the native language of Brazil, but she speaks Spanish better than English and I don’t know Portuguese).
The waiter stood there awkwardly making her feel uncomfortable waiting for her order. He seemed annoyed even after I already told him that I would need a minute. He came back twice in 10 minutes as I was clearly still sorting things with her, and he seemed more interested in having a cigarette than serving us. Worst of all, once we were ready to order, he had disappeared (probably having that cigarette), and he didn’t know the menu.
I ordered «Fettucine con Gamberi $ 28.95. Fettucine served with shrimp in a tomato sauce, garlic & extra virgin olive oil» for her, he told me it wasn’t on the menu, told me that they had a fettucine with shrimp and crème sauce, but that sounded disgusting (I don’t think seafood and dairy goes well together, sorry). I should have known when he didn’t know what it was that I should have ordered something else, but I’ve been here a bunch of times, never saw him before, and thought maybe he was new and just didn’t know the menu. I was wrong. It sucked. Her shrimp were small and over cooked, and the sauce/​pasta didn’t go well together.
I ordered «Pesce da Taglio $ 27.95 Sauteed Halibut, with lemon butter and capers,» and it was no better. I wanted to order the «Chilean Sea Bass $ 29.95 Served in a sauce with capers, black olives and tomatoes» as I prefer sea bass over halibut, but black olives and tomatoes didn’t sound appealing with such a light and traditionally fluffy/​flaky fish. My fish seemed like it had been frozen, it was over cooked, and the lemon butter sauce sucked (it seemed like it was out of a box… it was super thick and over-​powered with artificial lemon flavor). The ministroni soup was still good, but the pasta course that they give you no longer had their traditional meat sauce/​creamy vodka sauce that it used to come with. This time it tasted more like ketchup over penne noodles.
Needless to say, I’ll be firing off a letter to Mr. Barbieri to let him know of my experience. Horrible.

This was the third time we tried this place. Our past two times were not so good. Food was very basic, nothing special, and the service was closer to what you might expect at a Ram’s Horn or Big Boy’s. We though we would give them another chance since they offered «buy one entre, get one entre free» (up to $ 20) on Thursdays.
We sat on the patio which was nice, except for the waitresses coming out every few minutes with someone’s toddler in an effort to keep it entertained — I think it was the owner’s — and it was a bit disturbing as it they were always around our table. Felt like we were having dinner at someone’s house and their restless kid.
We were the only ones there when seated, minus kid, but it took five minutes for our waitress to come. We ordered water and drinks. Five minutes later came bread. Five minutes after bread, we finally got silverware, water, and drinks. Not good.
I’ll get to the food…
Soup — Minestrone Da Edoardo was actually very good. Not salty, but very flavorful.
Entre — Fettuccine alla Carbonara: This was just plain disappointing. It was basically egg noodles and dry, melted cheese sauce with absolutely no taste. It had about a tablespoon amount of prosciutto and onions — I’ve had better out of the box using powder. (pic uploaded)
Entre — Broiled Filet of Salmon: Nice size (9 oz). Vegetables were good, but would have been better if they gave you more. Salmon itself tasted like any other salmon you might cook at home, if you put nothing on it. Usually sauces at restaurants are often too heavy, but the sauce on the salmon was almost nonexistent. It was more of $ 15 salmon meal rather than $ 26.95. I’ve had much better at the likes of Shores Inn or Gilberts — bars. (pic uploaded)
Basically Da Edoardo’s falls short on food taste and the service you expect for the prices you pay…

Wonderful Italian food and service! Try the calamari appetizer.

We recently had our wedding reception dinner (11÷23÷12) in the private room at Da Eduardo’s, and it was fantastic. They were extremely accommodating, the servers were delightful, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the restaurant as a special event destination.

Great restaurant. The food is really great. Not trying to do anything crazy… they offer a big menu filled with great Italian dishes. Our group of five enjoyed them all. Yes, it is over priced. If not for that, I’d give it five stars. My tagliatelle with shrimp in lobster sauce had me scraping the plate with their delicious bread roll.

Regardless of the price of the food, we were extremely disappointed. The fact that we could have had better fare at Olive Garden (no offense, OG) for half the price was just the icing on the cake. The only good things were the bread (how can one screw that up) and the house salad (again, it’s primarily lettuce — not difficult to do).
The lasagna was beyond blah — you’d get tastier results with a frozen meal from the grocery store, and the perch was plain.
This was the second «higher end» Italian restaurant in the Pointes we’ve tried, and we’ve learned our lesson. Ugh.

The food was good, not great. Very pricey and super slow. Ill probably try it again, but not soon.

Great Italian Food, I highly recommend trying out Da Edoardo’s.

Excellent Italian. The lasagne is pretty good, the house salad is phenomenal, and the chicken with artichokes is excellent. Service is good and the ambiance is quiet and romantic. Entrees average about $ 25, so it’s a bit on the pricey side for Detroit.
