Lyla’s is my favorite place to go to for meat pies and other Lebanese delicacies. They are very friendly and accommodating and always put quality first. I recommend them to my friends and family all the time.

I’m not sure why Lila’s had«Italian» in the description, I’ve only seen Lebanese cuisine and I love the dough used for the meat and spinach pies, nothing compares.

In my opinion, the best hummus on the eastside. Occasionally we get some of the salads — fatoosh and tabouli — and they are fresh and flavorful. But when we make our own Mediterranean meal with grilled chicken or lamb, we always include Lyla’s hummus. Our guests always comment on how good it is.

My coworker took me here after he raved about the meat pies. I’ve never really eaten Lebanese food outside of Schwarma so I thought to give it a try. Lyla was behind the counter, super friendly, and her crew was just as nice. The meat pie was outstanding… but I have to rave about the falafel sandwich. It was DIVINE. The falafel was perfectly done, it was crumbling in my sandwich and I couldn’t get enough. The lady fingers made it 2 minutes at work. We ate them up! I have taboulleh to eat tomorrow night with my kibbe. Hands down, when locals say Lyla’s is the best meat pies in town, listen! They are delicious!!! You have gained a customer as long as I live in Michigan! And I’m still dreaming about the falafel sandwich… I need another one!

The food is delicious and reasonably priced. And the family that owns the business– and who have all been behind the counter each time I’ve visited — are wonderful. Friendly and helpful, they greet customers by name and have a smile for everyone!

Great food at great prices! I get the meat pies and spinach pies for my family dinner. A really good alternative to pizza for sure! I usually get a dozen… 6 of each and that is only $ 17 to feed a family of four. Food is fresh, full of flavor. I would recommend this to anyone! Looking forward to going back in to try some of their other food!

A coworker mentioned to me about this little take out place near my house. We checked out the place on Unilocal. It got decent reviews on Unilocal(even though there were only 3 reviews to date.) My husband and I decided to give the place try! We ordered a pound of tabouli, a pound of hummus, a meat pie, a spinach pie and a container of eggplant dish. The tabouli was well done and perfect on the amount of salt. The eggplant dish was also vey flavorful and has some nice sweetness probably due to the onion in the dish, although it was a bit greasy. The meat pie and spinach pie was comparable to what I got from other places. Hummus was a disappointment. It was very salty. I don’t know if it was just the batch that we bought, or if it is always salty. I know there are others out there who love salty food, but the hummus is definitely too salty for our taste. By the way, I have to mention that the price is very reasonable and our total bill was about $ 21. Overall, I think the place is good enough(especially considering the price) to warrant repeat visits. I will order the tabouli and eggplant dish again for sure.

I am so mad I didn’t know about this place sooner! Fantastic Lebanese food. Reasonable prices for generous portions. Would highly recommend the hummus, majdra, tabbouli, homemade lemon pita bread, kibbie, and fattoush. Will definitely be back!

Just tried carry out from here– chicken tawook sandwich and two meat pies. Both were made fresh and you could tell the ingredients were very fresh and of high quality. The flavors were wonderful. The sandwich had a lighter garlic sauce unlike the thick, white garlic sauce at most places, which turned out to be a nice change. I look forward to returning for affordable, fresh food, fast!

What a great little place! The service and quality are a force to be reckoned with, for sure. We collectively got a Chicken Tawook sandwich, a Kafta sandwich, a couple of meat pies and humous. The ingredients were as fresh as they come and the humous was some of the best I’ve had… and I’ve had a LOT of humous. I’m an Emily’s meat pie purist, but with that being said, Lyla’s offers up a really good pie as well. The only thing I had an issue with is that my sandwiches were kind of cold — it wasn’t what I expected, but the yummy garlic sauce evened out the experience. Oh, and the prices are the bomb! $ 3.99 for the sandwiches and $ 1.75 meat pies? Word up, Lyla. There are a number of decent Middle Eastern joints on the east side now and I think Lyla’s is getting a great start at running with the pack.
