OMG, that green sauce though… I’ d put that in my cereal. This place is awesome, gets a little crowded and the hours are not ideal(wish they were open 24⁄7).

We had a late breakfast there today. We shared the migas, which was more than enough for two people. We ate an excellent breakfast for less than $ 10 including tip. Truly a great place to stop on your way through Granbury, or before while doing your thanksgiving shopping.

Hot Dang, This place is the BOMB! Authentic Tex-Mex at its best. Resonably priced and fantastic quality! Breakfast Burritos so big you can barely eat it all. They always seem to have a lunch special under $ 6 that includes chips and plenty of that awesome Red & Green Salsa. I’m a fan for life! Definately a must if craving awesome Tex-Mex!

Food is OK, too many flies buzzing around and very little parking. Whatever you do don’t park in the bowling alley my friend got his car towed!

Warning: It’s so addicting. If you’re reading this. You’ve have been warned. My favorite is the Carne Guisada meat burritos. It’s a gravy stew meat and I top it off with their green sauce.

Our first visit to Montes #4 was a pleasant surprise! Food was very good, authentic. The charro beans were to die for as was the«green sauce» all the other reviews mentioned. But the best surprise was the fresh tortillas. So yummy! We ordered the Migas and the chalupa plate. Very tasty! Great place for a quick lunch!

Their spicy green sauce is epic! I’ve been scouring the Internet trying to find their recipe so I can eat it on everything or just with a spoon and a bottle of water(to combat the heat of course). I also have only good to say about their homemade tortillas(I had flour, not sure if they have corn or not). They’d make even a mediocre burrito taste good… which they did, hence my 4 stars. The red sauce was just ok to me. I may have enjoyed it more if I didn’t like the green so much. I will say my bean & cheese with sour cream was great, not a thing to complain about. However, I didn’t quite care as much for my chorizo & potato burrito, though certainly edible. The chorizo was just too dry & almost gristly and my potatoes were cut in perfect rectangles(making me think they were frozen) and were also not fully cooked. To the point that some were actually cold(making me again think they were frozen). Though I smothered it in the green sauce and all was ok by me. I was also hungover, so frozen potatoes in a burrito was fine at the time too.

Love this place. The fresh tortillias are amazing. I always end up getting the same thing here. A Steak Burrito with all the fixings and green sauce.

Massive Jalisco Meat Burritos great value… tough to get by the slop. They won’t bring you the appropriate squeeze botlle sauces unless you A) are a compadre B) are a regular or C) ask can’t tell which from the above… good luck

Being(originally) from San Antonio, and living the past eight years in New Mexico, my husband and I are always on the hunt for good Mexican food. I was headed back home for lunch when I remembered this place was on the way and we haven’t tried it. I went through the drive through and told the girl I hadn’t been there before. I asked about the daily lunch special, which was the gordita plate. For $ 4.99 what did I have to lose? She gave me two kinds of sauces(red and a creamy green?) since she wasn’t sure what I liked. The hamburger in the little gorditas was overcooked, but the«shells» were good. I liked the fact that the plate included«borracho» beans and not refried, even though they were a little too salty. But the rice was wonderful, moist and flavorful. It was enough of a taste-tantalizer to make me give them another try, especially for the breakfast burritos I’ve been hearing about. And I agree with others – the green sauce is really great!

This authentic Mexican food is tasty. Remember — it’s AUTHENTIC Mexican food so if you’re a Tex Mex fan — it may seem a little bland to you. Be sure you ask for the green sauce to go with your complimentary chips! I can’t get enough of the stuff. It’s one of those foods that once you try it — you’re addicted!!! The staff will readily bring you extra cilantro, onions, chopped fresh jalapenos, limes, or anything you may ask for to go with your meal. Most plates have a small salad, but they don’t have any salad dressing. I plan to take my own the next time and maybe they’ll get the hint. The Monterey Chalupas and the Puffy Tacos are great! My kids like the chicken or cheese enchiladas. Be sure to check their daily $ 4.99 special before you order. If you like sweet tea, you better like it REALLY sweet or you’d be better off to order it half and half the way we do. The only negatives I have to say about this place is they play the television too loudly — so if you sit close to it in the small dining room, conversation is difficult and they close at 2:00 in the afternoon — so be sure to get there by 1:00 because if you’re there shortly before they close — they act a little irritated. We obviously go for the food, not the service, however, it’s worth going in spite of the little quirks!!!

I don’t eat a wide variety of burritos, but that’s because I can’t stray from my favorite. Their flour tortillas are the best in town. The egg and cheese and whatever breakfast meat you like burrito is fine, but I *love* a bean and cheese burrito with sour cream and their signature green sauce. This place is across the street from the school where I teach and I find it hard to resist. Gets my day started right. I’d love to try the chilaquiles, one of my favorite Tex-Mex dishes, but the lure of that bean burrito is too much!

We moved here from Corpus a few months ago, and my boyfriend and I were really missing the good breakfast burritos we used to get down there. We came across this place and have been coming back about once a week for a breakfast burrito/plate. I personally do not think the quality or taste of the food is anything exceptional. I really think the food is more bland than anything, but my boyfriend LOVES the place! This is definitely the closest we can get to a breakfast burrito place in Corpus. The breakfast portions are fairly large for the price. I stick with the sausage, because the bacon tastes like it is the cheapest cut of meat of the pig. The chips and salsa are yummy and the service has always been pretty good. I do have an issue with the TV in there. It is always too loud and is constantly on the Spanish music channel. All in all, I don’t think it’s great, but it’s the only thing in the area that resembles a decent burrito place.

So this place is actually«Montes #4» and I was told there are 7 scattered around Texas. Having the words«Breakfast Burritos» in the name might sway most from hitting Montes for lunch, but that’s what I did. Monte’s had a good, mixed, crowd dining, so I took that as a good sign. I’m not sure if you can get a breakfast burrito for lunch, but oddly I did not see any burritos on the lunch menu. What I did see was tacos al carbon(3), and that’s the route I took. Dad went for the gorditas(3), which was the daily special(this seems to be an item from the regular lunch specials for a buck less). Most lunch specials are around $ 6 or $ 7, are served with beans and rice, and come with iced tea. Lunch started off with chips and two types of salsa, the typical red and a creamy jalapeño. The red was good, but the green was great. I ended up putting the green on everything. When my tacos(3) came I did ask for some hot sauce, and was given a third type of salsa, perhaps tomatillo based, but it wasn’t that hot nor as good as the green. So both the gorditas and the tacos were good(we traded one for one). Good enough that I will certainly consider Monte’s #4 a lunch destination… I’ll just be sure to get here before 2PM(and not try on Sunday). Oh, and I still do want to make it back for a breakfast burrito.

Great place for breakfast burritos — bacon, sausage, chorizo, potatoes, cheese, etc. They also have great lunch burritos too — ground beef, chicken, barbacoa, etc. Check this place out if you’re in town!

If you’re all for yummy breakfast burritos, raise your hand! {lifts arm, points fingers to sky and squeals with excitement} I know I am! And Montes needs to branch out to Dallas, seriously. I’d be their #1 customer. This morning we stopped for breakfast on our way home and like always, Monte delivered with fresh, warm, homemade tortillas and fresh ingredients. My favorite is the bacon, egg and cheese; but they also offer chorizo, potato and a slew of other varieties. Each order is made on request, so you know those foil tubes of goodness aren’t sitting under a warmer lamp for hours. And it also comes with little cups of their awesome homemade salsa… so spicy, it’s a perfect complement to the burritos. They also offer a REALLY hot salsa variety(I think it’s green, if I remember correctly), but you have to ask for it. The only downside: parking and the drive-thru line always sucks. They try to move quickly, but if you catch them on a busy morning it can take up to 20 minutes or so to get through the line. And it REALLY sucks if you’re hungover and hungry for some grub. Not like I would know or anything {bows head}
