This place is an example of something that simply cannot be transplanted in this country from another country. This is the stateside version of Kaitenzushi(回転寿司), or, Conveyor Belt Sushi. In Japan, Kaitenzushi is meant to be a very cheap, and quick alternative to the typical sushi bar that also has decent quality. Because of the basic common sense that people have there, leading to different health code laws, costs can remain cheap. I mean $ 1 per basic plate cheap. And still maintain a decently high standard! Japan is basically a very germophobic society, so no one will touch the food on the conveyor belt unless they are going to eat it. Here, you don’t have that confidence so there are plastic lids that cover the plates, which drives up costs. Also the quality isn’t that great either. The end result is a product that is marginally cheaper than an average sushi bar with significantly worse quality. Because I’m half Japanese, and because of my many visits to Japan, I am a sushi snob. That being said, I’m still giving 3 stars even though a full Japanese person from Japan would probably give this place 1 star like my visiting family members have. I think the novelty is nice but overall, it’s not something I like to do stateside. A for effort though.

Yesterday, yesterday I had a chance to eat here. The sushi was very tasteful. This restaurant had a vibe of making me feel as if I was back in Japan. The green tea was good and not put of a can. The staff was polite and kind. I believe this show could easy be a 4 or 5 star place with a faster turn around of it food. Now, as I visit more and more place the wait time for their dishes can drain the life out of a meal. However, once your food is on or in front of you and its delightful that can mean or make the difference if I would come back for seconds or thirds. Anyway, I might give this little piece of Japan another chance to see if they have elevated their game. So, stay tuned and less all cheer of the little guy!

The sushi doesn’t taste fresh at all. It has an overly fishy smell and is kind of tough and rubbery. The rice is dry too. Take out service is slow even when the place is empty. And the sushi literally tastes like«fast food sushi». I genuinely thought the food was going to make me very sick. Don’t waste your money here.

One of my favorite places to go with friends and partner! Every time I come here, I know I’m getting delicious food at a good price! My favorite thing to do is order the main food, and snack on the sushi on the belt while I wait! The staff are also wonderful as well! I have never had any issues here! Gigi took care of me last time, and she was extremely sweet and welcoming! Plus she served me my very first sake! She gave me a good recommendation on what to order, and I’ve got to say I haven’t had service like this in a while! If you’re looking for a quick sushi place or if you and your friends need a place to sit down and eat, this is the place to go! It’s also my favorite date spot!

Great customer service! Everyone is very nice and attentive, but the food could be way better. It just didn’t taste as good and fresh as other places.

OK food. Not the best but they do have some unique nigiris. Have come here about 10 times over the past few years. As far as prices go, this place is pretty cheap. I personally love the kobe beef nigiris, although I don’t think it’s genuine imported kobe beef. As far as service goes, this place is hit or miss like the other reviews have stated. I’ve enjoyed fabulous quality food sometimes but other times, poor quality sushi. I noticed that it’s mainly young kids who work here, many who can be careless at times. This is probably why the quality control is so bad. I’ll be back, but not for a while.

We come here for inexpensive sushi. The quality of fish is decent, but you sometimes have to wait a while for something you want to come around, there are a lot of empty spaces on the conveyor belt. Tonight, we didn’t get soy sauce dishes, had a bit of challenge getting our drinks refilled… And then I pulled about 18″ of hair out of my mouth that had been entwined up in my sushi rice.

Service is so-so. Waiter disappeared a few times and the food we ordered took awhile. Spicy chicken teriyaki chicken ordered was pretty good. Sushi from the belt, in my opinion, was really good. I had a bunch of different kinds, was fresh for conveyor belt sushi. Was in and out quick and the bill wasn’t very high for what we ordered. Ambiance was nice and I feel it’s a place I’ll come back to.

You pay for what you get. Honestly management improved a lot more and everyone is more enthusiastic and helpful I didn’t give it 5 star because not a lot of variety of sushi but still a good amount.

This place is just funny… Their food is hit and miss. I don’t know if they have any QC in place. Sometimes their sushi rice was not cook completely, sometimes the rice is warm on the sushi. Sometimes, they ran out if tuna before 8pm. Lately, they are just ok in terms of food quality. We come to this place regularly and it seems like they put more Japanese staffs here to ensure quality. I think it helps and I could clearly see the food quality has been improved back to the level when they first opened. But never expect any service from them. The waiters and waitresses are new EVERYTIME we go there(like once or twice a month) and they never know what they are doing so don’t be alarmed or surprised if you can’t find them or seeing them running around. Sometimes you would find them«hanging out» on the last row of tables taking their breaks or playing with their phones… seems weird to me. Anyway, this place is convenient to grab sushi when you crave for it but don’t expect too much.

I had gone here on 2 separate occasions and the experience was day and night. First time they had many tasty seasonal fish in stock and the service was great. The second time thought, the service was terrible, we didn’t even get a menu until we asked for one from the cashier and no one even served us. It seemed like the main chef wasn’t there and the whole restaurant was disorganized. I’m not sure if they were lacking help on that particular day but the level of service was unacceptable. If not for my first experience I would never return here and would rate a 1 star.

EXCELLENT! I am an aspiring chef, avid foodie and sushi fiend! The negative reviews are RIDICULOUS! This place is CLEAN, QUICK and CHEAP! Most expensive roll is $ 5 their fish is fresh, I watched the gentlemen scale the fish, filet and serve it! The rice is sticky and delicious! Their green tea is made with real matcha powder and is sooo yummy. They have amazing customer service, I didn’t even have to pay for my tea last time! I came here two days in a row because I was so WOWED!!!

Came with a friend late in the afternoon on a Thursday. It was pretty empty so we go seated right away. There wasn’t much sushi on the conveyor belt but it’s fine since you can write what you want on a piece of paper and give it to a server. Handrolls are probably the best bang for your buck. The rice to fish ratio for the nigiri is off, way too much rice and not enough fish. Their wasabi is also very grainy and doesn’t completely mix in with the soy sauce. There were three servers but we kept getting checked up on by different ones every few minutes so it got a little annoying. It’s conveyor belt sushi so you should never expect too much. Also be careful with how many plates you grab because they do add up. $ 20 later and I was still hungry.

Honestly kind of shocked by some of the negative reviews. We just ate here for the third time(always lunch), and it’s become one of our favorite spots. We’ve never had bad service(today we had two different servers who checked on our water/soda several times), and the sushi is GOOD. Like, REALLY good when you consider it’s generally $ 3.25 a plate. Is it $ 100 meal? No. But you’re also not paying even close to $ 100. So… If you haven’t been here, it’s a conveyer belt restaurant, so the sushi goes by you on the belt, and you grab whatever you want. At the end of your meal, the server comes over and adds up your plates and you pay. If there’s anything you want that’s NOT on the belt, you can order it(we’ve ordered Takoyaki — which is seriously on point here, buttered scallops, baked salmon, fried chicken). So the people complaining about a lack of food on the conveyer belt must have missed the notion that you can also just order whatever you want, and the chefs just immediately make it for you fresh. Today was the first time we sat at a booth, instead of at the sushi bar. There’s a little button you can hit if you need your bill or need to order anything. Comparing to other cheap sushi places — food is on par with Sushi Stop, much better than Sushi Mac. We’ve never not gotten a seat right away, but we usually do lunch at like 12:30 so avoid the rush. Huge parking lot, since it’s in a shopping plaza area.

I can’t even. If you’re looking for good sushi, you’re better off going to the Ralph’s across the street(and that one sucks too). It’s not even like the prices are cheap enough to warrant how low quality it is. You can do better. The only reason I’m giving 2 dang stars is because the service was respectable.

The food is okay. Price seems to have gone up since I went to a Gatten Sushi but I believe that if you find the food, service and experience worth it, the price really isn’t a problem in any restaurant. However, the service here was severely lacking. The servers seemed annoyed when we asked for things like more water, tea, a side of hot sauce. One of the servers, Meghan, brought out three hand rolls to our table — that we hadn’t ordered. I called out to her and she either didn’t hear me or didn’t care(at this point, I honestly thought she hadn’t heard me), so I called out a bit louder. I guess she heard me this time, because she ROLLED her eyes at our table as she turned towards us. We let her know that we hadn’t ordered the hand rolls and she took them. She checked with the sushi bar and took the food TOANOTHERTABLE. How does she know it’s clean? What if we’d touched it thinking it was ours(we did not touch the food but we did touch a plate!!)? Pretty sure it’s against health codes to do that with food! I asked another server for the check and to cancel the order that we’d put in. Guess I sounded pissed(I was), because he came over and asked if anything was wrong. I asked for the manager. I explained to the manager what happened(twice, as it turns out that my issue was too complicated for him to understand without someone to translate — both translator and manager were very nice, though) and they apologized. They said they’d give her a talk. As we were sitting there, waiting for the check, my sister noticed that Meghan and another server were standing at a corner and blatantly staring — my sister stared right back as we had done nothing wrong. We left, and my sister realized that they were STILLSTARINGATUS. I turned around to look and that really rubbed me the wrong way as it was obvious they were talking. I threw up my hands in the universal«WHAT?!» gesture, and they started LAUGHING(not 100% sure the guy laughed from my angle but Meghan was definitely laughing). I wish I could give 0 stars but Unilocal doesn’t let me, so I’ll just say that the one star is for the manager and translator. So beware, those who expect anything close to decent service from servers.
