I rarely give bad reviews since I love to support local. but this place, without even tasting the food. left a bad taste in my mouth. I take my kids during my food excursions to expose them to diverse foods. on occasions, the little one just falls asleep and a little unfair to wake her up so I can get my grub on. so I put her in a stroller… HERE is what infuriates me… this place refuses to serve me and my kids because I have my sleeping child IN A STROLLER… so much for customer service.(side note. the parking lot was empty, we were the only customers at the time)… so much for supporting local…

It’s great to find a local place that is so good, with lots of yummy options. The only negative is that the shrimp was not that easy to peel, which is why I would give it a little less stars. But otherwise amaze balls, love it !!! Been coming for months now and still can’t get enough, tried a few other places with good reviews, still no comparison, try the headless peeled shrimp with the honey Cajun sauce, it’s out of this planet.

I’m not even there yet but I’m heading there in about 20 minutes and I’m just so excited that I had to write a review. Arigato has, by far, the BEST spicy tuna I have ever eaten in my entire life. If you’ve never been there, you need to drop everything and run there now. The quality of fish is unlike anything else I’ve tasted in LA. I was very disappointed with sushi in LA until I found this gem a few months ago. I would eat at Arigato everyday if I could!

Had a 2.5 lb dungeons crab and it was delicious! Great flavor and plenty to share between my husband and I. Lobster sushi and miso soup were great, too. Friendly and welcoming service made us feel right at home. Price was reasonable for quality seafood, too. We are excited that we can get crab anytime in our neighborhood.

Garlic butter shrimp was so yummy! The oysters were really fresh, a little pricey for 2 but worth it. I didn’t like the rice they put on my crab. too salty. The king crab legs were also delish! The owners were super nice. will be back again!

Decided to stray from our regular sushi place and give this restaurant a try. The menu has some wonderful selections from sushi, crabs, shrimp and oysters. For appetizer the fried calamari legs. It was fantastic. Wanted a second basket but I held back. Main dish: Dungeness crab 2.7 lbs with drawn garlic butter. YUM! Oh so delicious. Thought I wouldn’t need the bib. Wrong… wear it if you’re having the crab. Crazy Mexico roll(Lobster, crab inside with tuna on top drizzled sweet and spicy sauce). Something new and pretty good. Wanted to try the tempura ice cream or mochi ice cream but the roll put me over. Next time. The wait time for the food was not so long as other posts claimed. I guess it depends on the size of your group. Love this place. The staff are really nice and friendly. Mostly definitely will come back.

My sister and I were a bit skeptical at first since we both enjoy Kickin’ KAsian down the street BUT we went for it. It did NOT disappoint. The shrimp with honey cajun was perfect; you can see the chunks of garlic, jalapeño and red chili’s in the sauce. The staff were incredibly friendly and always checking in with us, which is always a plus for me. The downside was that you couldn’t order a ½ pound of shelled shrimp unless you wanted the ½ already de-shelled shrimp. But it was decent, and worth sharing. The fried squid was not impressive as it was overcooked(i.e. WAY too chewy and lacking flavor). I would highly recommend!

The sushi was really good. My friends got the Alaskan and the Granada roll and loved them both. I can’t handle spicy, which was almost everything. And I can’t do avocado which is everything else. So I went with philly roll. It wasn’t really good. And I say that knowing how hard it is to mess up a philly roll. They absolutely loved their rolls though but all three were very soggy and hard to eat. Don’t bother with the edamame or be prepared with heavy salt. The miso though is amazing!!! So good.

When I first walked in the restaurant there was only one other table, so I didn’t really know what I was expecting. I took a look at their menu it was a sushi and broiled shrimps type of restaurant. I have never heard of this place until my friend had recommended me. So I this place has the best Honey Cajun seasoning I’ve tried in valley! It is a very lowkey spot because I don’t think a lot of people know about it. I really wanted some shrimp that day so we stopped by Arigato Sidewalk. Before I ordered I had to look at Unilocal for some inspiration. I saw that many people ordered the Honey Cajun crab so I went for it to see what the fuss was about. I also order the Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp and Honey Cajun Crawfish. I absolutely enjoyed every bite of it. The Honey Cajun was flavorful and delicious. The Lemon Garlic Butter had a soft and subtle taste to it, but yet it was very tasty. I will definitely be back and maybe next time I’ll try some of their sushi.

Went back for a second visit two weeks ago. Took Adored Grandson this time. He dove into the teriyaki salmon and was pleased with the dish. On a Wednesday evening, it was pretty quiet, so service was quick. The family is very gracious in their attention to the guests. Sushi adds up fast on the bill, so stretched the meal with miso soup and sharing the sides on everyone’s dish that they might not be crazy about. That worked, and AG took home about half his salmon portion. It was very generous. Bonus: Watching the pre-game of Kobe’s last NBA game on the TV in the dining room. :-)

I ordered the Las Vegas roll. It was delicious. The fish was fresh and flavorful. However, I didn’t get a drink refill until I asked 2 times and I was already done with my food. The place was empty with only myself and another table of 3. Once they gave me my food I was forgotten. Food is great but the service needs much improvement.

Such a great place to have shrimp, crab and lobster! I had the shell-less shrimp on lemon butter honey seasoning and it was amazing. I also had the Las Vegas roll, and it was a little bit too spicy for me however i ended up eating most of the roll. I was too full to have their fried oysters but I am definitely planning on going back. Since i am a Dodgers fan I love they have their collection of babble heads displayed at the restaurant! We met my brother and two nephews here over the weekend. Most folks are walk in, but they do take reservations. We did reserve a table, so they were ready for us. For most of the meal, service was really quick and attentive. It slowed down toward the end, but not too much. My brother remarked that it took a long time for the second part of the meal to come out of the kitchen. The family was hustling with serving and clearing tables. The atmosphere is quirky. There are colored glass chandeliers sprinkled around that I liked. They didn’t especially go with the wallpaper, though. Tables were clean, but kept clean and utilitarian. I suppose you don’t really go for the atmosphere. Noticed at least one group of guests with the bibs on, enjoying fresh crab. They have a tank in the back corner of the dining room where they live before cooking. Market price was $ 18.99 a pound. We tried the fried dumplings. They don’t have the option of preparing them potsticker style, which I would have preferred. They were very hot when served; a light sauce came on the side. One nephew ordered shrimp tempura. He was happy with his choice. The other claimed not to be too hungry, so he shared in the sushi rolls we picked, plus edamame. I’d read other Unilocalers praising the Las Vegas roll, so we tried that one, plus another that wasn’t spicy. That Vegas roll was a bit hot for me, but the seafood in it was very fresh. We also shared the crab cake for the table. Very different than American seafood restaurant-style crab cakes. This was more like a griddle cake with a sauce to hold it together. Unique and worth the experiment of trying it. It did take awhile to come out of the kitchen. Dear Hubby ordered the salmon collar, which is normally only found in Asian restaurants. I tried one section and found it tender and moist. That also took longer than the sushi orders. Parking available in the back if the small lot is full.

Let me start by saying the sushi is great, compliments to the chefs who make the food because this 1 star has nothing to do with the food and everything to do with the service of this place. I’ve been here multiple times before and unfortunately I’ve had more bad experiences than good. Firstly I came here with my sister weeks ago and we had both had a long day from work so we ordered several rolls of sushi for ourselves. The waitresses response to seeing all the food we ordered, «Are you sure you want all of that?» Um yes I’m sure I want to be a fat ass at the moment, any other stupid questions? I just came back from ordering from them, and I was the only customer inside.(This place is usually empty which is why I gave them a try multiple times thinking it would be fast and easy service) I paid my amount and waited 20 minutes. Not only did the waitress accidentally mess up my order(She misread where I had marked off on the menu) she asked for my card for a second time to correctly calculate the bill. And to add insult to injury the bill came back with an extra $ 1.02 than what it was previously. I ended up waiting another 10 minutes for them to fix the order. In those last 10 minutes one other customer walked in. The women working there lack any professional customer service skills and that is why I’m not returning here any longer. I would rather make the drive to another location and order sushi somewhere else.

Omg! This place rocks! To be honest I was hesitant at first to walk in here… When we pulled up to the resturant my bf and I both looked at each other and said«hey we ate sushi here before.»(As of Sept 2015 they changed their name and added live seafood.) I wasn’t really a fan of their expensive sushi 2 years ago. BUT thank godness my BF said«let’s just give the live seafood a try since it’s lent and we can’t eat meat today.» Cajun honey sauce was the bomb. You are never going to find it anywhere else.(Flavorful, sliced garlic, chili peppers, sweet&savory korean saucey taste.) Mmmmm Lemon garlic honey or honey lemon garlic(whatever it was called) was pretty good too. Not so much lemon but more like a sweet buttery and pepper taste. $ 16.99/lbs for live dungeness crabs from Seattle. We got 2.20 and 2.40 pounder(medium size). So I’m guessing small about 1 pound and medium about 2 pounds and etc. The wait for our food was so crazyyyyyy… I was literally 2 mins away from walking out BUT omg it’s was so worth the wait. The crab was severed with rice and that delicious cajun honey sauce. Finger licking good!!! We will definitely be eating here more often.

I like this place, some things are better than Kikin Kasian and some are not. The first plus is they don’t have a an hour wait. I’ve been there three times and never waited. The 2nd is that they don’t serve you in plastic bags, 3rd is they have fair quality sushi. Down side is almost everything is loaded with sugar, whatever you order is sweet, and they are more expensive than Kikin Kasian.

We decided to try out this place because we had guests from out of town and we both had little kids with no babysitters and this place offered Kid Friendly menu that our little ones can enjoy while we had grown up foods. Wow! We are sp glad that we found this GEM. The place smelled very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The Food was AMAZING. We are Katsuya fans, this was equally pleasing to our taste buds. The rolls are tasteful and fresh, the dungarees crab was amazing, the service was hands on. Afterward we didn’t feel like sodium had taken over our bodies for the night which is common with Asian food. The best part was that both us and the little ones were able to enjoy a great meal which is normally a compromise between food vs. comfort. I will return to this wonderful gem very soon to have more of its wonderful food.

Wow!!! So excited to have found this amazing place! The food, the service, and the place — all beyond expectations! The place — As soon as we walked in I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness especially in a place that offers bibs and requires use of fingers to divulge into saucy seafood! And unlike restaurants of the like — such as Kickin Kasian or Boiling Shrimp — there was no smell! Happy to report, that after we left our clothes did not wreak of the smell of fried calamari and crawfish! The service — Our waiter was awesome!!! He was a sweet young guy who was so accommodating and attentive! And not only did he take care of us, but he was bouncing around the whole place, serving, cleaning, and setting up as guests were coming in and out. Also, the waitress was amazing! She even personally ‘bib’ed all four of us as we had already started eating and then she realized we didn’t have our bibs yet. She was on it — constantly changing out our buckets of shells and getting rid of our dirty mess. The food — DELISHHH!!! We started with shrimp tempura — HOT and fresh! Then had the crab cake — not your traditional crab cake — sooooo yummmm! Had some pickled onions on the side — perfect combo. We had a pound of shrimp in the lemon garlic flavor — OMGTHATSAUCE! Best!!! Definitely the highlight! Two pounds of crawfish in Cajun flavor — sooo good — spicy and very flavorful! As sides we had potatoes and corn and sausage — definitely recommend it all! And lastly, had a sushi roll — can’t remember the name — but pretty good too! Very impressed and excited to have found a new spot close to my hood! Be back soon!

This experience was mostly on the ordering of cajun food, not so much on the sushi. I was really looking forward to this place since it did have good reviews. But I did not realize it was a sushi and cajun restaurant. Which is great, but maybe they focus more on one than the other. So first the location is not the difficult, and if you can’t park in the front there is some space in the back. Then the restaurant itself seems to be having an identity crisis. It has a baseball theme in one area with a large TV, old victorian with fancy chandeliers on one part, then bright lighting and pictures of visitors in another area. Then the entrance is confusing because you are not sure which part to go through at first, there are too many signs. Everyone who came in had to stop at the door and wonder what was going on. The space itself is big, it is good for groups or just a couple. It is also very clean, and even provide cleaning wipes for before you start eating. So I had ordered the pound of shrimp with garlic butter, and my bf got half pound of tiger shrimp with garlic butter. The flavor was pretty good, but it wasn’t as great as I was expecting. It wasn’t as much garlic flavoring, mostly buttery and oily. The same with the tiger shrimp, it really wasn’t worth getting the tiger shrimp when it didn’t hold much of the flavor. Then it was also over cooked because the majority where difficult to peel. I think the bowl that she shrimp was brought out in, kept them too hot and they kept cooking. We had also ordered rice, and the portion for the rice is very small. Since my boyfriend wasn’t full from the shrimp, he decided to order some sushi to try it out. He ordered the philadelphia roll, and it did not taste like philadelphia roll. The size was smaller compared to other places and for some reason it was very sour and soggy. Although it does have cream cheese, the sourness made me a little worried. Overall, I was not very happy with this meal and I’ve experienced better. Although some may disagree, but I don’t think it is better than Kickin Kasian. I think this place still needs some work when it comes to cajun, because the majority of the customers were not there for the cajun. If anything they were there for the seafood and sushi. It all depends on the person what they like, but if you are a fan of Kickin Kasian on Reseda, then you are most likely not going to like this place.

It seems like crab boils are popping up all over the place in the SF Valley but most of them skimp on the quality of their product. The fact that they have live crab really speaks to how much they want to set themselves apart from the competition. The food was fresh and very delicious. The waitress who attended us was very polite and attentive to anything we needed. So for all these reasons and more I happily give them 5 stars. I look forward to my next visit.

Had a nice dinner out with the family at this great new seafood restaurant in the valley. I ordered the Dungeness crab with potatoes, sausage and rice. The rice was served in the cavity of the crab and juices from it added to taste of the rice. You are given a wooden hammer and metal seafood pick to take apart the crab, which can be quite messy. Be prepared to do a lot of eating with your fingers, but it is well worth the work!. One recommendation would be for the restaurant to have metal seafood shell crackers. This would make it much easier to remove the meat from the crab. Other than that, the meal was outstanding and service was great. All the employees were very personable and helpful in explaining the menu, and were very accommodating to any requests. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fresh seafood.

I am a huge fan of steamed dungeness crab. I usually have to go to Redondo Beach to satisfy my cravings, but NOMORE! This place is a gem! I hope it does well and it stays around forever! Quality seafood(crabs, mussel, shrimp, clams, oyster, calamari) for an amazing price. The dungeness crab was $ 15.99/lb when I went, and it was so fresh! This place definitely doesn’t skimp on quality. I had the plain steamed crab and it was DELICIOUS. They also have options with several different sauces so I’ll have to try that out next time! I did try their apple onion sauce with the calamari and that was amazing! My favorite part is the rice mix that comes with the crab. Very Korean and I certainly can’t get that at most crab houses! Definitely give this place a try if you’re on the prowl for some great seafood!
