I love this place! I’m from so cal and we have a TKS in downtown San Diego in little Italy and I would go there every Friday. Once I moved up here to Fremont and saw there was one in pacific commons I was in heaven. The iskender kebab is the best thing in my opinion. The service here at the Fremont location is friendly and well attentive I will be coming here a lot more often

I came here with my parents for lunch last weekend. There was a line to order the food, but it moved pretty quickly.(You have to order your food, they give you a number, you find a seat, and wait for your number to be called.) The place was pretty full as well, so I took that as a good sign. I ordered the chicken kebab with rice and fries. I also got a side of flatbread and the garlic yogurt sauce. It did take a bit for our order to be called, but it was all worth the wait. The food is really good, and its a lot. At least it was for me. But the chicken in the garlic yogurt sauce was fab. Tasted exactly how you would want it to taste. Super flavorful. Another thing, I did like that this place has beer. I didn’t get one, but I will in the future. 4 stars.

I came here with my son for the 1st time. I saw the Shawarma in their menu but i want it wrapped and not sandwich. It is the Doner kebab! I miss shawarma that i always eat whenever i go visit philippines. And i think i found it here. The taste is so closed to my fave shawarma in my country. One of the guy gave me a free drink when i told him it was my 1st time to try their food. The place is very nice, very clean. Really like the ambiance. The guys that work there are very quick in their service. I would definitely comeback to eat more doner kebab and try their other foods. love it!

Never again. Lamb/beef was flavorless. It could just be that I should have followed my first mind and two more exits to Gaters on Mowry in Fremont. Last time I settle for convenience or trusting my gut.

I stopped here for lunch while running some errands. The restaurant is located in an area with a number of other dining options, right next to the movie theaters. It was fairly busy with a small wait to order and a 10 minute wait to get my food. I ordered the Doner Kebab with the lamb/beef filling(the woman at the counter said this was the most popular filling) with extra tomatoes and cucumbers. The Doner Kebab is quite large and very flavorful although I did not see evidence of ‘extra’ tomatoes and cucumber(very sparse). I will definitely go back — it’s a nice alternative to other fast casual options.

I thought the food was alright. For about $ 9 I’d say it wasn’t very filling. It seemed like there was a lot of lettuce plus the wrap was a bit burnt. The garlic yogurt sauce is tasty. The mixed meat was good just not enough of it. Friendly cashier though. I’d rather go to dish n dash.

Came on a Friday lunch. Surprisingly not packed compared to other restaurants in Pacific Common. Ordered a doner kebab wrap with lamb.(~$ 9) The portion is actually huge. The wrap was almost twice the length of my face. The restaurant is mostly a self serve deal. The garlic sauce and the hot sauce(which taste like sriracha and tomato sauce) is free when you ask for it. I say it wasn’t too bad. My meat seemed dry and old and the sauces were average. The wrap is a hybrid of a tortilla and a flatbread. I would come again for the plate. That looked good.

Food(5⁄5) First and foremost, I need to give a disclaimer that I love Turkish Food, especially Doner Kebaps. So, I originally found this place as a way of satisfying my Doner Kebap craving that I had obtained while travelling in Germany. Sadly, there was no toasted flatbread, but they have a variety of sauces that went well with the food. I had ordered the Doner Kebap with beef, and a side of Mac and falafel. The food was extremely flavorful. I would recommend the falafel for any visit. It was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. It went really well with the garlic yogurt sauce I asked for on the side. Extremely hearty, and was exactly what my body needed. The portion sizes here are huge, so be prepared to take some food home, or just get really fat. The doner kebap was good, ableit I was slightly disappointed because I was hoping for toasted flatbread with a variety of veggies and sauces mixed with it. The beef was flavorful, and the«burrito» was good. I barely finished my food, and I usually demolish my dinners. The mac salad was surprisingly one of the best I’ve had. it was cold and light, and the contrast of light and creamy went well with my falafels. Atmosphere & Location(4⁄5) The Kebap shop was located in a nice area in Fremont with a lot of parking. There were a variety of choices and dessert places nearby, but I would strongly push for The Kebap Shop whenever I am in the area. If you cannot find street parking, you can go into plazas on either side of the street and not have to worry about your car’s safety. The restaurant itself was clean, the well lit. I would not say it’s a date restaurant, but more of a I’m really hungry and want to have some laughs while eating. The area is really open and the staff was really friendly. Service(5⁄5) No complaints about the service. You order up front and they bring the food to you. The staff members were all friendly, and they did a good job keeping the restaurant clean.

Amazing, delicious, and my new favorite place in Fremont. We love it so much that we eat here at least once a week. My favorite is the chicken kabob doner(wrap). They have spicy option and plain things that I get for my 3&5 year old. I am glad they are a few exits away otherwise I would be eating here for lunch and dinner every single day! Also, great service and atmosphere if you decide to dine in. Keep up the good work guys.

Came in on a Friday(new years eve) around 5 P.M. and there was only one party at the restaurant. The cashier was very nice in answering the questions I had(e.g. what flavor baklava do you have?) and was very patient. Ordered a chicken rotisserie plate with falafel and french fries and a chocolate walnut baklava. The chicken plate was delicious but the falafel seemed a little bit dry(first time trying). The garlic yogurt sauce definitely helped and added flavor to everything! The chocolate walnut baklava was almost perfect in that it tasted a little chewy(I’ve only had it once before which was homemade). Overall, I liked the food a lot and would love to try more next time!

I’ve lived and worked in the Bay Area for almost 10 years now, specifically San Jose. A few months ago, I started a new job in the Fremont area. While farther from my house, it did mean new restaurants to try! And, for most Unilocal Elite members, this is the best news they’ve heard since they found out that the McRib is back again at McDonalds! Fine, only 1 Unilocaler gets excited about that. But, I am sure more than 1 Unilocaler gets excited about new restaurants to try. And, on my second day at the new job(hey, you have to kiss some ass and miss your lunch on the first day of work), I went to The Kebab Shop. Now, I have had TKS bookmarked for a while now. But, it was for one of the locations in San Diego. This place has multiple locations in San Diego. The Fremont one is the first one outside of San Diego. Being that I just drove around the area looking for a place to eat, I wasn’t able to explore the menu beforehand like I normally do. I walked in at 11:45am and only 2 people were ahead of me(12:10pm was a different story). The guy at the counter was super helpful and walked thru the menu real quick for me. It’s hard for me to pinpoint exactly what kind of food this is. It’s really a mix of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food to me. They have your kebabs, falafel, and shawarma dishes and plates. They have a big selection of fresh salad sides and hot item sides. Rather than talk about what I got on my first visit, I will tell you what I have tried on all my other subsequent visits. Lamb/Beef Gyro: Meat is good and seasoned enough. But, when you eat it with the garlic yogurt sauce, it’s 10x better! While not as good as The Halal Guys, it’s concept is similar in that sense. Falafel: Not my favorite. Even with the sauce. So many restaurants in The Bay that specialize in falafel. I’d go with those for my falafel fix. Beef Kofte: Basically, a ground beef kebab. Pretty good, but again, don’t forget the sauce. Also, don’t forget the hot sauce! Moroccan Shrimp: Full of flavor and best of all, no sauce needed! Tabouli Salad: Good, fresh side. Doesn’t stand out, but still good. Cucumber Dill: Hands down, my favorite side here. So refreshing and pairs well with any of the proteins you will get. Saffron Rice — Nowhere near the taste of The Halal Guys, but still the best option of hot sides if you don’t want to get 2 sides of salad with your plate. It’s either that or the falafel or French fries. Like I said, I’ve been here a few times in the past 2 months. With the abundance of different restaurants to try in the area, coming back here over and over again, should tell you something about how much I like the food here. Parking can make it a challenge with Blaze Pizza, Which Wich, The Habit, and the new Bennigans within a few hundred feet. But, if you come at 11:45am or earlier, you should be fine.

3.5* I’ve been here 3x and finally decided to review it. The line formation sucks and fills quickly with only 6 people in line. Once you enter, the line begins. Food is slightly pricey for what you get. Entrees are btw $ 9 – 12 w tax. They have a nice variety of salads and each look well prepared. The hot items are limited to rice, fries and falafel. They charge $ 1 more if you want two cold sides. Otherwise an entrée of chicken or gyro comes w a hot and cold item or two hot sides. I’ve had the doner. The wrap reminds me of roti from costco that you heat yourself. It is thinner than pita and less bread like and more similar to a flour tortilla. It had thinly sliced gyro and good amount of veggies. It was a decent light lunch but not that filling. It was thin and I found it not quite worth $ 9.50 or so. plus tip. Their white sauce is very garlicky which I like. Their hot sauce has a ketchup like consistency. I tried their gyro plate and chicken plate as well. The gyro isn’t the best I’ve had but if you’re craving it, it’ll do. It’s very thinly sliced. too thin for my taste. It’s also drier. hopefully meaning it’s healthier? Or it was sitting too long? I also like gyro with a bit more seasoning. The chicken has a strong seasoning. almost like too much cloves or cinnamon. It was fairly moist to slightly dry. The meats I’d rate 2−3*. But their salads and fries are really good. Their fries are crispy. The mac salad has perfectly cooked pasta and not a lot of yogurt or mayo. It had a light seasoning of paprika or some spice. The rice is fluffy. Also the mint orzo Salad was satisfying. I liked the chunks of grilled zucchini and tomato, bits of feta and minced olives which were all more prevalent in the dish compared to the orzo scattered throughout. I had the lentil salad which was a little oily but good. They give fairly large servings as sides. I wish you could split one side into two items but they told me I couldnt. FYI if you order hummus, it comes w pita. Salads I’d rate 4*. Although the line may be slow, food is served fairly quickly. I wouldn’t say I crave the food here, but it’s a decent spot if you’re near and want a few healthier options.

This was a random choice on Doordash for an easy dinner in during a post-move unpacking session. Being that there are so many kebab options in the Fremont/Newark area, this really was a crapshoot, but it worked out well. Generally speaking the portions are quite generous. We had a variety of items between the two of us but most of what we ate was very tasty. Wasn’t crazy about the carrot salad, but the falafels were crispy and delicious and in ample quantity. The gyro meat was also good, as was the minted zucchini orzo. Prices were quite fair given the quantity of food. I definitely felt like I got my money’s worth. Will be back again for sure.

If good authentic Mediterranean was Americanized and mass produced it would probably taste just like the Kebab Shop. Just like Daphne’s or other Greek/Mediterranean chains, The Kabab shop offers the standard fare of meats, rice, sides such as tabouli, greek salads, pita, hummus, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc… There is maybe a larger draw to The Kebab shop for their chicken, which after a night of drinking was juicy and seasoned to high hell– in a great way of course. I left a little confused as to what the restaurant was trying to pitch as their identity. The cashier said it was something along the lines of «Middle eastern slash Greek authentic food with a European twist and a bit of American influence…» Say what? I guess I can see that in the taste of the food… with the American influence being most apparent in the Powerade I ordered to wash down my pita side and hummus.

Mediterranean food, YUMM!!! I haven’t dined in here but my work has ordered pick up from here at least three times already. Their online ordering makes life so convenient! You can pay online and then just get up off your butt to go pick it up at the store. I always get the saffron rice plate with lamb/beef mix and cucumber dill. Portions are big! It’s enough for 2 meals. I would like a better meat to rice ratio though but I’m not complaining about the left over meat I always get after finishing up the rice. Their garlic yogurt sauce is also bomb! I don’t know if I’ll ever dine in here but I’m for sure going to come back to get me some Mediterranean food fix!

The Kebab Shop had a mix and match system for proteins, plates, and salads. skipping the last 2 since i’ve only figured out the first. proteins(various prices): rotisserie chicken, lamb/beef, mixed meat, grilled chicken, falafel, salmon fillet, morraccan shrimp) served as: boner kebob(flatbread), shawarma(sandwich), boner box. eats: lamb/beef boner kebab(8.99) –meat tender and tasteless, 2 meats grinded together then grilled, so no taste. –flatbread filled with little meat, mostly salad mix, tomato, cucumber, onion, fresh mint, dill sauce, garlic yogurt sauce. –flatbread long, grilled. almost filling. crumbs: –free soda with Unilocal check-in –doubtful repeat, not a good value. –add-ons makes it a pricey meal. –better marketing than food here. –lots of seating, quick service at counter –The Kabob Shop is a chain… operation. may have seen food truck with similiar name, unsure if related.

New Chipotle-styled Mediterranean place?(btw is there a word for this kind of dining places? Like Poki Bowl, Chipotle, The Kebab Shop, Asian Box, Blaze Pizza… etc you know places where you go thru a line up of options to customize your own food) With this and and Dish n Dash both located in Pacific Commons of Fremont, our choices are really getting more exciting. However I think it’s safe to say that I prefer TKS over Dish n Dash. Came here during lunch with a coworker. Together, we ordered the Lamb/Beef Doner wrap(apparently you could order to have the fries inside. We didn’t though, maybe next time) and the Chicken Rotiserie Plate with falafels and greek salad as sides. Everything was fast and delicious(also pretty generous amount of falafels) which is perfect for when you don’t know what to have for lunch/dinner but still want something good and casual.

I’m very happy that more restaurants are opening in Fremont and The Kebab Shop is a welcome addition. Located in Pacific Commons and they offer Mediterranean food, quick and friendly service, delicious food and at a reasonable price. I really like their hummus, which is very fresh. The portions are good and their staff is really friendly and helpful. I have enjoyed their Lamb/beef and Rotisserie Chicken Doner Kebabs, their Chicken and Rotisserie Chicken plates. The Pita Bread is also very fresh and soft. Customize your meal any way you like and don’t forget to grab their Garlic Yogurt sauce, which is really tasty. If you want a little extra heat, get their spicy sauce. It’s delish.

I like coming here for lunch breaks. The place is crowded on the weekdays at lunch time. Must get the garlic yogurt dressing with your wrap/plate. They have good selection to choose from. I usually like to get chicken plate with 2 sides. Happy eating!

Walk into a brightly lit and very clean restaurant, and order at the counter. Pick: 1. A shish kebab plate: proteins include salmon, beef, moroccan shrimp, chicken, and grilled vegetables 2. Two sides(hot/fresh, 2 hot, or 2 fresh): fries, falafel, saffron rice, and a variety of fresh salads 3. Customize or add a drink The two popular fresh salads are cucumber dill and greek salad. The moroccan shrimp was very flavorful and went well with the saffron rice. The Greek salad tasted fresh and was a nice contrast to the hot foods. Total was about $ 13. Check into Unilocal for a free fountain drink!
