I use to like it until i saw bugs in the resturant by the meats section, and when he was charging me there was also a bug by the counter and he moved it away with his hand.

Their gyros are some of the biggest I have seen around! Good place to eat or take out, prices are good, and the food is awesome. I had the chicken/meat gyro meal with fries and it was quite a big serving for the price. The chicken was good but the meat was a little bland. The gyro itself was well made with the pita bread that held together till the last bite. I’ve had some where your not even halfway through and it’s already torn apart. Overall it’s a good place to eat! Food was good!

This has become our go-to place for gyros. The owners are very friendly and the food is made fresh. Tastes really good and it’s not oily or greasy. Highly recommend this spot.

Stopped by on our way to Laser Tag with the kiddos– The gyros were delicious– Seasoned really well, good amount of meat too :) My daughter had the chicken philly… She said it was really good! Service wasn’t «unfriendly» but they weren’t warm or welcoming provided we were the only people in the restaurant. Overall, good local food spot, no frills.

Love their large gyro meal combo. It always fresh and tastes delicious. The combo is worth your money and will get you full. I haven’t tried anything else there since I am obsessed with the gyro.

The meat was undercooked even when I asked them to make sure my chicken was fully cooked. The guy did not give me any of the extra condiments I asked for so I had to wait in line again to ask, definitely a waste of time. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.

Many are hesitant to try this place because of how it looks, it’s a little hole in the wall with not much sitting and the décor is lacking. Just one bite of the Spicy Gyro meal though, and none of that will matter. You really can’t go wrong here no matter what you order but the Gyro really is the main event. Super flavorful tender lamb, fresh vegetables, warm pita and even the French fries will rival the the best you’ve ever eaten. To any who haven’t yet tried I highly recommend Gyro Café, once you’ve had it once you are sure to be hooked.

This place is one of my favorite places for lunch when I am in the Newark area. They have the best gyros in town and great people working behind the counter. Give this place a try and you won’t regret it.

I love the Gyro’s here. Have been coming here for over 4 – 5 years and the staff is extremely friendly and always are so happy to see you again. I bring all my friends here for lunch at least once a week. This is the only place I go for Gyro’s as well because every time I tried somewhere else it didn’t taste as good. I would definitely recommend this place!

Great food and good service. Great quality and quantity meat. I would suggest to add more veggies and diced tomatoes versus one slice.

Spicy gyro! Soooooo good. My fiancé and I come here every two weeks almost and we get the same thing every time. My fiancé’s order is specified to no tomatoes, extra meet, extra spicy, large gyro with the tanziki on the side and they remember every time!

This review is based on half a gyro … I came here super last minute just trying to kick it with my friends and they gave me half their gyro since I wasn’t hungry. I’ve never been here before I’ve tried gyros else where but OMG the burst of flavor in my mouth after just one bite … I’m craving it right now as I write this review. Honestly I’m probably going to end up there tomorrow. But I highly recommend everyone try this place! It is small and totally a cozy diner type looking place but you will not be disappointed with the food.

I’ve ate here twice now, and really enjoy the yogurt sauce and chicken kabob. Pretty decent prices, and great staff. Seems pretty popular with the locals.

We try to stop by this place everytime we’re in the area. They make some legit off the hook gyros. $ 5.99 for a Reg gyro and $ 6.99 for a large. If ur getting a regular, its a dollar more to upgrade to a meal which comes with crispy thin cut fries and a drink($ 2 for a large).

Chicken kabob plate was pretty good. Chicken had nice flavor and the rice was fluffy. The yogurt sauce was a little too thick and strong for my taste. Kids’ chicken nuggets look dry and the fries are kinda plain. The hot dog looks big. Dining area not very clean.

Well I was thoroughly disappointed, but I kinda guessed this would happen before I came in, so it is my fault. I had been craving a Philly cheesesteak, and so I decided to order that… at a gyro spot. Not the best decision I’ve ever made. I ordered that and seasoned curly fries. The cheesesteak was more veggies than steak. Thorough disappointment. There were mushrooms, onions, and peppers filling most of my darn sandwich. It hadn’t mentioned it even coming on it in the menu, or I would’ve been clear that I was really just wanting the steak and cheese only. The curly fries were alright, but not as crispy and flavorful as I had hoped. The employee handed me what I think was a chive pancake type dish to try. It was really good! I would like to go back, but this time to try their specialty: middle eastern and Mediterranean.

I came here on a weeknight with a party of 9 and it was empty so we were seated easily. I ordered a spicy gyro, but what came was a regular gyro with spicy sauce on the side. The hot sauce wasn’t good, so I ended up having a normal gyro. They messed up my friend’s order though, so I tried his spicy gyro. It was good! I’ve never seen a place make the meat naturally spicy before. Anyway, my gyro had way too much sauce and they only put one thin slice of tomato as opposed to chunks or many slices. The meat flavor wasn’t that strong, but it was acceptable. My gyro was relatively cheap; I got a small that came out to be around $ 6.50 after tax. However, I don’t think I’ll be returning, as there are much better gyro places around here.

First time to this place only to satisfy my craving for a gyro while at the same time taking into consideration the highly rated reviews this place. Walking into the place it looks as well as smells dirty… With weird/odd decorations. I was willing to overlook the condition of the restaurant and go thru with my mission to have my gyro. My food was made fairly quickly and the gyro itself was alright. Tons of meat, small amount of veggies and little to no sauce… Very dry. The fries. Oh where do I start with the fries. Stale tasting. Like it was cooked in old oil. Look I’m no critic because I was willing to eat there… But I wouldn’t recommend this place. However the pricing is really cheap and the portions are pretty big.
