Great Music and its Jim SUHLER!!! He is AMAZING and GREGPICCOLO. This is where I had my first date. I came from Houston and he came from Hartford(on tour) and we met up there. Awesome place and hopefully lives on forever! YEAH for The BLUES!

After all the years of great music this place will be part of Fort Worth history. Looks like several years of management problems, poor economy and finally the River Project took this ol’ treasure from us. All the bras hanging from the ceiling should have been put in a museum. That old tin barn leaves us wonderful memories. Goodbye ol’ friend.

Cool little bar when you drive down in there you will say WTF… 1st thing you see before the bar is FTPD training and a bunch od cop cars to the right. Said to myself gonna be a short night. Pulled in to bar on the left(hidden) and greeted by these two young ladies playing that night. Well turns out it was southlake’s school of rock, no cover so I said why not. Microphone overwhelms everything else in acoustics. Drinks are not strong ended up with PBR and shiner, wife had fun it was ok for me. Wished they had drink specials and not all posters for beers are on hand. Nothing on tap. Stayed till the end. Good show. No cops which was cool. Close so yeah I would go back.

What, nobody’s ever Unilocaled this famous Fort Worth den of iniquity? Only one way to describe the Blues Bar, and that would be in song: «Dim lights, thick smoke, and loud loud music.» It’s hard to believe that after 20 years of some of the best live music, strongest drinks, greatest place to shake a tailfeather(that’s dance, you gutterminds), get your ass squeezed by the owner, the one and only Mr. Jim Schussler, and have an all-around great time in Cowtown is coming to an end this Saturday night. So many memories are flooding my mind right now; I would love to elaborate, but there are far too many black(out) holes to fill. Catch the scene while you still can… there’s a link on Facebook that gives you the big line-up of ridiculously great music going on Saturday. Farewell, J & J’s Blues Bar. You shall be forever revered. And missed.
