Amazing service, best sushi in town and my favorite is their chicken basil with rice. Their Tom yum soup is also very good as well the shrimp basil rice paper rolls. Definitely a place to go for lunch or dinner!

This is my favorite sushi place in the city! The prices are really good compared to other places like KOTO, Naked Chopsticks, or Asakusa. The atmosphere is really wonderful and the service is fast and the food is just so good! The outside might not be very appealing, but it is definitely worth it! The location is kind of in a weird spot but its not hard to get to and its right beside the mall! They have a huge menu to choose from and I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try for the first time, or a long time lover of sushi!

Our first stop at Fort Wayne after flying down from Houston was this one and I must say it was scrumptious, just loved their food. It was a to go order but the place looked just great with live music playing and absolutely neat looking. Tried Roti and Combo fried rice. Love love love it. Recommend totally! Definitely will come back if time permits.

Decided to go here because I wanted to try a new place for sushi. I went around happy hour…& let’s just say– I won’t be coming back here! First off, the location is just terrible. It’s next to good year tires AND a gentlemen’s club. When I first arrived here, there was literally only 3 cars outside. That should’ve hinted me to «stay away»! They did not have a large menu. and you can make your own roll, which I thought it was neat BUT I had no clue what to pick. The sushi did not look great and it had a lot of rice covering it. I mean A LOT! I definitely did not enjoyed it. Maybe their other food is good but do not get the sushi! Other than their terrible food, service was good. It is nicely decorated inside. Will not be coming back… I think I’ll just stick to sushi ya-US off of DuPont.

Food was tasty! Looks can be deceiving. Building looks like a hole in the wall but the inside is really nice. Modern with beautiful dark, rich woods. Ordered clear soup(the kind you get at every Japanese restaurant) but the one here was delish! Very flavorful. Aside from the rice crispy looking things floating on the top, this was the best clear soup I’ve had to date. Also ordered the Hibachi House Special Fried Rice. Loved the flavor of the rice(once I added the Hibachi sauce to it). They were a bit stingy on shrimp and beef in the dish. There was only one shrimp in the whole thing! But beef was super tender and juicy. Service was just okay(considering there was only us and one other table the whole time I was there) and food took a while to come out. Would go back… food was good.

So not impressed. Lovely atmosphere but so-so food. I chose a standby that I figured would be safe, curry. However, the meat pieces were too big for one bite and no knife was provided. Other than that, it was tasty. Others at our table were not impressed with their choices. Very attractively presented, but I prefer really good food. Our party showed up right at opening and we had a reservation. However, it turned out we waited 90 minutes before we began getting our food. Other people that came in after we did were served, ate and left before we received any of our order — other than the appetizer. Thank goodness we had that much. I give them an ‘F’ for service. We were told that the delay was so that they could bring everything out at the same time, but that never happened. When the dishes started appearing it was sporadic. My husband was the last to receive his order and some of us were half finished by then. Sorry, Ichiban, we will not be returning.

This was or second trip– first one was fine but not outstanding. We decided to try it again because Baan Thai was closed. I have Celiac Disease so I can’t consume gluten, so I always have to make sure there is no soy sauce or battered items in my food. I let my waitress know about my restriction, but she still brought me the soup that had soy sauce in it. She said there was only a little bit in it and shouldn’t hurt. It doesn’t really work that way. If I hadn’t asked if the soup was safe I would have been sick later! When our meals were delivered, the whole order was wrong. I got mango shrimp instead of coconut shrimp. Since it was my second choice, I decided to eat it anyways. The shrimp was very fishy. The flavors were good, but I couldn’t overlook the fishy flavor of the shrimp. My husband sent his dish back to get it corrected, and asked for it to go. He tried the pineapple fried rice with tofu at home and said it wasn’t very good. If you have the option, always go to Baan Thai!

The location probably is its only weakness. If you want to try authentic Malaysian food, this is as close as it gets!

Was unsure about the restaurant because the restaurant’s parking lot seem empty. So happy we took a chance and found a hidden treasure for Fort Wayne. Really good foods and polite service. Recommend the Mochi ice cream and fried eggplant stuffed seafoods. A must go!

So so sushi… maybe good for Ft Wayne. Step above grocery sushi maybe. Their soup was good. Chicken Teriyaki was terrible. Fried rice was mediocre. Mango chicken was creative but flavor was marginal.

Big menu. Large portions. Good was okay. I wanted it to be great. We had lettuce wraps, but they portioned them already instead of building your own. They were overstuffed, some more lettuce would be nice. You get 4 big portions. Boyfriend got Crispy Chicken Tamarind that was laden in a ridiculous amount of sauce and came out with unnecessary presentation. My rice and seafood dish was«fishy», but the fried egg on top help calm it down, even though it was fried in shrimp paste. Some shrimp seemed close to under cooked. We definitely had leftovers, and both dishes heated up nicely. Mine tasted better the next day: we had a buy one get one coupon, and have another coupon. I think it’s worth another try.

After reading so many positive reviews, I was excited to try this place. The outside of the restaurant is very unappealing, but the inside was clean and nicely decorated. I went for lunch and chose the Tofu Hot Pot, which was recommended by our server. I was never asked how spicy I would like it. It was overly spicy, and I like spicy, to the point of being unappetizing. The salad and Miso soup were good. My friend got the Mango Chicken and she mentioned the texture of the chicken was off and had an aftertaste. She also didn’t feel well after eating there. Our server was just ok. We do not plan on going back.

Unbelievable. As good as or Better than I’ve had in chicago, new York, LA, vegas or anywhere else. Perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients. Not overly pretentious. You have top line dining in a family feel restaurant. I will be going back a lot. The coconut shrimp was absolutely perfect. Not the sticky sugary mess you get in a Chinese restaurant. This had fresh coconut milk and curry in perfect balance. What a shock to find this sleeper right on coldwater rd.

Delicious, friendly, fast. Went for lunch, lunch specials include small salad and a broth soup. I had the roti appetizer, a vegetarian sushi roll,(yes that’s two appetizers thanks for not judging) and the peanut curry which I found a licious, I did have to ask for chili oil to add a little heat. Clean modern atmosphere, will definitely come back and try the dinner menu. I didn’t say enough about the roti pancakes and curry dipping sauce, loved it, wanna marry it, ok that’s extreme, maybe just get an order to go and spend a wild crazy romantic weekend with it, ooooh maybe two orders…

I have been to this restaurant twice and I think it is very underrated. This place has good food, great presentation, good ambiance, friendly staff and affordable prices. I think that restaurants are better when they serve only one cuisine but Ichiban is an exception to this. They have an extensive menu but it is not cramped just to have a big menu. Every dish is unique and looks unique. I would be going back to this place often.

This is the restaurant I am going to frequently visit for my Asian cravings. The warm ambience and smiling faces aren’t just formalities, it matches the service & food too. We ordered the tom yum soup which was good. Then a green curry and rice and Indian style noodles. The green curry wasn’t spicy but we Indians like everything spicy & forgot to mention it. However, it was delicious and had to to-go the leftovers for later. Also they are open on Sundays till late, so no worries about reservations. P.S no upset stomach after the food too ;)

Here in Ft. Wayne for a hockey tournament. Always looking to eat sushi, so we checked Unilocal for options. I wasn’t sure about going to a «fusion» place, but the sushi menu seemed pretty good. I ended up having a roll that was lit on fire at the table(I forget the name). It was so yummy! I even recorded the fire process and texted it to my teenage son who thought it was cool(pretty hard to impress him). The service was fast and friendly. I would definitely go back.

Ichiban was a plesant surprise in Ft Wayne. Wherever I travel I started trying the sushi which I am told is crazy in the«landlocked» states. But if you think about it, even if the place is on the water on the coast, its not like the chef is fishing the fish in and cutting them up. These are sushi grade fish that need to be shipped in regardless. Anyway, Ichiban was comfy. There is alot of booths and tables. It is welcoming and clean. The bathroom is the nicest ina ll of Ft Wayne. My sushi rolls were as ordered. Not amazing where I dreamt about them all night– but very good. The fish was cut right and generous. The servers are all actually asian. I would come back here any time I was in Ft Wayne. The parking lot is not that big for how big the restaurant is inside, but I got a spot. Ichiban has great décor. I loved the window coverings and table setting and overall atmosphere. Yay
