This review is based on the Udon Noodle Bowl(different proteins, multiple times) and ginger chicken, duck wings, egg rolls, shrimp rolls, bubble tea, and a few other items over about 4 visits. Overall, West Coast Grille has been a pleasant, clean, bright, friendly place for fresh and affordable Asian-inspired food.(Not sure what the earlier negative reviews are all about, but we didn’t have the same issues…) Every time we’ve asked questions, the people behind the counter have been courteous and helpful. The udon bowls can be personalized in any way for an additional charge, adding different combinations of proteins. The veggies include fresh bean sprouts, carrot, dressing, etc. The shrimp rolls and egg rolls were great. Bubble teas are more like a ‘dessert’ than a beverage, so paying $ 4 – 5 for dessert seems fair, and every flavor we’ve tried was tasty, especially the avocado. If you’re trying this place for the first time, consider getting an udon bowl with your choice of protein or avocado for vegetarians, plus a bubble tea and a water to drink, and you’ll get a basic sense of the place for under $ 15. To close, some reviewers have commented on the plastic cafeteria trays and utensils. Those don’t affect the quality of the food in my experience. If you want to pay more to eat the same quality of food with metal silverware(if you’re going on a date maybe?) then by all means go visit a more ‘swanky’ restaurant instead. Pay extra for linen napkins. Or else come here for a casual«Asian fusion» experience, use the plastic utensils and paper napkins, and enjoy.

Okay, I have wanted to visit this place for quite some time so I was excited to try the food. Upon entering, I was certainly underwhelmed. The place looked like your standard Chinese take-out joint… maybe a tad bit better. But were still talking colored menus plastered on the wall and such. Don’t expect too much in the way of service. You’re not going to be getting any smiles and friendly hellos here. We ordered: orange chicken with fried rice, wonton soup and 2 fruit smoothies for an extremely high grand total of $ 26.00. I was floored! I could not believe that I was spending that kind of money for a Chinese dinner for 2 people! «It better be freakin fantastic,» I told myself as I signed the credit card receipt(which I was charged .49 to use!!) There were 2 employees in the place when we got there and no other patrons. We waited extremely long for our food. We waited about 25 minutes WITHOUT drink for our food to come. Then our food came out which looked pretty delish. I tasted my sister’s fried rice and was delighted with the flavor and texture. It was full of veggies such as green peppers, onions, bean sprouts, peas and carrots. The veggies were still a bit toothsome, which I liked. It was soo good that I immediately went to the counter to order some for myself. And for once during this visit, I was pleasantly surprised with the price. For veggie fried rice, it was only $ 1.50!!! How awesome is that! And for a huge portion! But then the cashier(who it turns out must have been the cook too) goes back to the stove to start on the additional order of fried rice. This would have been fine if we would have had the smoothies we ordered 30MINUTESAGO! But we didn’t. So I told him that this was a problem. I thought by complaining that maybe the other guy would jump in and help him but no. Once the smoothies arrived, they were almost worth the wait. They were super tasty. They had tons and tons of flavor. I’d get them again. But if I ordered them again, I would definitely pass on the«bubbles» at the bottom. And if I ordered from there again, I would call ahead AND only order the veggie fried rice. My soup was less than stellar. It was kind of a one-trick-pony kind of soup. No deep layered flavors. Also, the texture of the wontons was not pleasant. It tasted rubbery, like overcooked shrimp or something. Message to the owner and employees: Smile a little; Life can’t be that bad!

I really wanted to like this place… after waiting for a fairly significant amount of time, our food and drinks finally arrived together. They were all in carryout-type bowls and served with plastic silverware. While that’s not always a terrible thing, I felt based on the size and price of the food, there should have been more class and presentation involved($ 40 for 2 adults, 2 kids). Meals seemed undersized for the price and were average at best. I ordered the Udon Noodles with Beef and it looked nothing like the display photo. It seemed like several ingredients were missing. Not bad, just okay. Paired with the utensils, dishes, and bowls, it was a forgettable meal.

This is the most DISAPPOINTING experience at a restaurant that I ever had, the Orange Chicken was extremely DRY, and to add insult to injury… They served it with a plate of DRY rice, no sauce with the Orange Chicken, This by far the most over– priced nightmare I have ever eaten at. Just Get the smoothies! the service was absolutely HORRIBLE! They didn’t come and and ask how we like the food etc… oh yeah did I mentioned?, the food was OVERCOOKED. Nice looking restaurant, bad food.

I walked in on a Tuesday night with no prior knowledge or expectations. Just happened to be driving by. The place looks awesome! It’s super clean and very pleasant. I walked to the counter to order. I ordered a pork grill meal to go. I don’t remember the exact name of the dish. It was ready for me in under 15 minutes. When I got home I was delighted. It was all very fresh and well prepared. The lettuce was cold and crisp and the noodles and pork were hot and delicious. I will for sure be back again!
