We were in town for the tin caps baseball game and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. After reading the awesome reviews we were sold on this place. Unilocalers did not disappoint! My toddler loved the place because it had a fish tank, she also ate 1⁄3rd of the Burmese noodles we ordered. We ordered the samosas as an appetizer. It comes with 5 pieces and the crispy egg roll type outer layer was delicious. It comes with chilli garlic sauce — love it! No ketchup in sight. We mentioned we were vegetarians and the server brought us a veggie clear broth soup that was absolutely delicious! The hubby and I mixed some of the chili garlic sauce with it. For the main course we got — Burmese noodles and a tofu veggie dish with rice and fried eggs. The food was flavorful, comforting and had a nice heat to it. The eggs were perfect — I love a good runny yolk! It’s places like these that makes me want to move to a bigger town. Service was fast and friendly.

Amazing food and incredibly polite staff! Came with a group of 7 ladies and we each split a variety of dishes. There was nothing to be disappointed with. The Pad Siew was incredible! Highly recommended!

Seriously love this place! We shared 6 dishes, do the same if you’re there with a group! Panang Curry, pad Thai, Pad Thai, Burmese Noodles, Fried rice, and Pad Woon Sen. I literally loved them all. I think I’d choose Pad Thai, Pad Seiu or Pad Woon Sen. I would leave the Burmese noodles behind. The waitress was so friendly!

Everyone recommended this place do I dropped in for Sunday lunch. Ordered samosa appetizer and masuman curry — hit with tofu. Came with a jasmine tea, a veggie soup and rice. Samosas(5) were crispy and super tasty, along with a chili garlic sauce that was not overly hit but enjoyable. Curry was not overly hot, but a nice blend of sweet and spicy. Healthy portions. Overall great food quality and great service. Be back next time I’m in town.

This has become my go-to Thai place. It is conveniently located near my office and home — double score. Thai for lunch and dinner! I usually prefer the carry out to dining in, but recently I ate in with a few friends. This place can get pretty packed during lunch… seems the other downtown-working Thai lovers have discovered Mahnin. Service was decent considering it was one girl running the whole show. Answering phones, serving, and running in and out of the kitchen. I have tried their Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Both are phenomenal. A little heavy on the grease sometimes, but still simply delicious. When dining in, you receive a soup with your meal to start off… perk of not grabbing on the go. It was a simple soup — not sure of the name, tasty. We also started with samosas. SOOOO delicious and the order is big. Great appetizer to start with if eating with friends. I get my noodle dishes with heat level: HOT. They are the perfect hotness but still enjoyable. Plenty of extra condiments on the table to make yours just right. Parking can be tricky. I usually avoid the weirdly set up parking lot and opt for street parking — no meter! Don’t judge this place from the outside — quality Thai food and friendly people!

I was in town for the weekend and was eager to try out Mahnin, after reading excellent reviews on Unilocal and the local paper. We arrived early on a Saturday night around 6:00PM, and immediately noticed that the place was packed. The owner-server appeared to be ridden with anxiety at the prospect of another table to serve; she was not unfriendly, just swamped. I ordered the Burmese noodles with tofu and veggies, and tossed the side dish of shredded cabbage & chili on top. Mahnin offers a nice selection of table sauces to amplify its dishes to your tasting; fish & oyster sauces, pickled carrots, ground peanuts, brown sugar, hot sauces galore, etc. We received complimentary chicken broth, which tasted vaguely of ginger and had a few pieces of shredded chicken floating about. Since Mahnin was almost out of its homemade samosas, the owner offered to supplement our appetizer with spring rolls, which were a tasty combination of veggies and pork. My dining mates enjoyed their dishes of panang curry and pad gra prao with fried egg & basil, although the pad gra prao’s «medium» spice level more tasted like«super hot» and was jalapeño-heavy. If you plan to visit for dinner, I recommend stopping by in the early PM. Mahnin closes at 8PM, but we noticed the owner locking the door around 7:20PM-7:30PM. We think she was overwhelmed and they were running low on appetizers and other items(since everything is freshly made in-house). The atmosphere is okay, a mishmash of tables & booths crammed into an awkward space(former mechanics stop/filling station). I tend to pro-rate Fort Wayne restaurants against Indianapolis, so a 5 star restaurant in the Fort would be lesser elsewhere. However, Mahnin feels like a true 5. The deliciously-complex spicy food superseded any atmospheric issues; go there for the food, go early, and try something new(no pad thai!).

3.5 stars because I don’t like the fact that they have MSG in their food. I always come here for the same thing; pad Thai. I love noodles and this is a favorite of mine. It’s not too sweet like some places that I’ve had and the portion size is decent. I like that they don’t put peanuts in my pad Thai. Service is eh. Depends on who you get, there’s one server(she may be the owner, I’m not sure) but she’s really rude. It’s been a while since I last went and she served me though.

Mahnin has the best Thai and Burmese food in Fort Wayne, and so far anywhere else I’ve tried for that matter. I have yet to find anywhere that serves better green curry or samosas. Service can be slow if you’re dining in; the location is tiny, staff is limited, and is often quite busy(especially on Sundays), so be sure to expect a bit of a wait. However, the people working at the restaurant are super friendly and hospitable(and will treat you like family if you’re a regular), and the food is amazing, so it is well worth waiting for. One word of warning: they do not mess around with spices here, so be sure you can handle the heat before ordering anything Hot or Thai Hot! I’m simply updating my review from earlier so I can give Mahnin a higher rating, because they deserve it.

Found this place on Unilocal while driving through Ft. Wayne, and now can’t stop thinking of it! The food was fresh, tasty and so much better than what I’ve found in Indianapolis. Had a beef salad(wish I could remember the name) but it was beautifully balanced with cilantro, onion, peppers and lime. The samosas and spring rolls were crisp and still light. Can’t wait for my next trip to Ft. Wayne.

Traditional good food. As already mentioned parking can be tricky. Closed on Tuesday is also inconvenient because that is my day off to be able to go out for lunch there.

Mahnin’s food is amazing — it’s the atmosphere that knocks off a star. The food is authentic, delicious, mouth-watering… but the place needs a massive makeover/deep-cleaning/fresh coat of paint. Everything we had was so flavorful, and the waitress was very patient with us while we tried to pronounce the Burmese items; she was attentive and kind. We’ll return for take-out; can’t wait to try all the other fabulous dishes!

Decent selection of South Asian foods. Soups were decent. I also like their papaya salad, but it’s often too salty and over-powering from the excessive garlic, fish sauce, and Thai peppers. Also, I don’t recommend getting anything fried from here. Pad Thai was just ok.

Great food that captures the complex taste of asian cuisine. The serving was generous and the price isnt that bad either. The lady gave good recommendations on the menu. The service was speedy and great. Would definitely go back.

The best Thai food so far in Fort Wayne! The parking area is really small because other customers may parked behind your car and you have to ask them to move their car. Inside the restaurant, you will be greeted by a nice waitress. It is a small dining area but the food is so good that it doesn’t matter. I always get the pad Thai or pad kee Mao(mild or medium spiciness… The medium level for me is sometimes way too spicy). The noodles and meat tastes really fresh. It’s so delicious that I’ve been coming here for the past two years! The price for an entrée is definitely affordable. It is cheaper than most Thai restaurants. About $ 8 for chicken, $ 1 extra for beef, and $ 2 extra for shrimp. I have not tried anything else but I’m pretty sure it’s tasty as well. Overall, come to this place if you’re craving for Thai food! You will not be disappointed. I have no complaints with this place! :)

This place totally takes me back to my trip to Myanmar(Burma), it’s about as authentic as you can get. The Burmese style noodles and samosas are both amazing, and the prices can’t be beat. The one huge thing you should know about this place is that the food all takes a LONG time to make. Everything is cooked from scratch, which is a plus, but don’t expect to wait any less than 45 minutes for your meal to be cooked, and plan at least an hour and a half in total if you are going to dine in. Trust me, though, it’s totally worth it!!!

By far one of the better Thai/Burmese restaurants in Fort Wayne. Tom Kha Gai, Panang Curry, Samosas and Lad Nar are all highly recommended. I am sure other dishes are superb as well.

Like the food here. Only thing is that you should call ahead and make sure if they are open.
