Trepanier’s Backyard Grill & Bar

First off Kay was a fantastic server and took great care of me while I dined here.
Second is that the food is fantastic and not bar food in any way. All the items I had were seasoned perfect and tasty, no bland or boring here.
I was going to get lunch at a different place and at the last minute I changed my mind and am I so glad I did.
The place looks like one of those chain places but it’s not. The place has booths and tables for dining and a wonderful bar that is in a separate room, I chose the bar to have a cold one with lunch. The bar had numerous flat screens and 32 tap beers with tons of bottles, see the beer menu I posted. The hostess stand is hiding behind a old truck door which is think of cool.
The beer and food menus are enormous with tons of options. The smoked ribs that have won this or that was going to be my choice. I got smoked ribs which came with cheesy hash browns and cheesy chicken enchilada soup.
I ordered the full slab and told Kay that my appetite was not that big and I would be taking left overs with me. Kay being on top of her game took charge and boxed half the slab to go right from the beginning. My plated food came with a carry out box with my other half slab ready go go, how cool is that.
The cheesy chicken enchilada soup was so FUC%#NG amazing with crispy tortilla shreds on top and a small heat finish. It was so creamy and cheesy with nice chunks of white meat chicken. It was an enchilada in a cup and the most interesting soup I have had.
The cheesy hash browns were a great change as a side dish and we we pretty good. The hash browns were cooked al dente, not mushy and just right. A creamy/​thick cheese sauce covered the hash browns and made for a great side dish.
Now for the slow smoked ribs that are smoked in the back yard as they describe. The ribs looked and smelled great, see my pictures. The ribs were smokey/​meaty with a sweet BBQ sauce. The ribs were fall of the bone clean and moist/​juicy. The sauced ribs were very tasty and the best I have ever had from a non BBQ place and put a lot of BBQ places to shame.
Over all this place rocks and they are doing everything great and I wish I lived closer. The casual dining and serious food slogan they use is on point and they live up to it. When ever I’m in the area I will definitely stop back again. Nice job Kay.

Wonderful food, four meals ordered and every meal was delicious. Clean restrooms, knowledgeable and professional wait staff.

I was in town for work and this place was catered at the event. It was so good that I came back for lunch the next day and I plan to go back again tomorrow. The food is delicious. I had the chicken and spinach salad and I also had the steak wrap. both were things I would highly recommend and tomorrow I’m looking forward to trying something different. The atmosphere was quaint and the staff was incredibly helpful I wish this business the best of luck.

Met up with 2 other couples for lunch and all 6 enjoyed their food! Great service ! Had the Door County Salad with shrimp. It was fresh, filling and tasty without being heavy. Will go bAck again.

Amazing waiters and food and people will come back soon as possible my favorite thing are the burgers there

This place has such a fun atmosphere, it feels like Cheers with awesome food! I highly recommend the Salmon with pesto on top. They are always packed, but friendly service from the hostess, to the bartender, to the wait staff. I am gluten free and I so appreciate their labeled menu. I don’t have to guess and hope for the best, I just know what I can order at first glance. Lots of gluten free choices!

Surprising– in town for a get away and stopped in to this little place. Doesn’t look like a high level establishment from the outside, and once you get inside as well the décor is odd yet fun– the bar is covered with license plates from different states.
However, the staff is fun, energetic and knowledgable The cooks are amazing as well. I am picky when it comes to temps on my burger cook– they nailed my request of less than mid but more than mid-​rare! Absolutely NAILED it– like Gordon Ramsey would be smiling style nailed.
I would say to anyone — it is a must stop for any local or traveler alike

I ate here for the first time last weekend with my spouse. After having driven past here many times in the past and even stopped and tried to eat here but the wait was too long. The wait was long to be seated in the dining area so instead of leaving as we did the last time we tried eating here, we decided to stay but go sit at the bar, since there were some open seats. There was a male bartender who promptly took our order and the wait wasn’t too bad, however, after taking our initial order, we never saw the first bartender again, someone else brought us our food. Both of us ordered drinks from the bar and both of us had an empty glass for a good 20 minutes before we finally asked for the check, at which point, the younger female bartender asked if we’d like another drink. Umm too late when we’re asking for the check! The food was nothing to write home about and my burger was under cooked. The small portion sizes do not justify the high prices. The service is extremely poor. Needless to say, we will not return.

My two teenage sons and I stopped on our way home to Milwaukee area. The name of the restaurant drew us in… my boys were Hungary for good old burger. That is what we got. The fries and service were great.
Family can come and eat with tv all around.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Fondy! I highly recommend the Chicken Asparagus Wrap.

I had the BYG’s Blackened Chicken Sandwich (Great!) that was served with melted pepper jack cheese and cajun remulade (Fantastic!)

This place was AMAZING!!! Surprised me by having waaaay better food than I thought it would be! I will for sure visit this place again.

Favorite place in Fond du Lac so far. Food is very very good. Well thought out and consistently executed. From the casual sandwiches (blackened chicken!), salads and wraps to the full dinners.
For dinner, the almond crusted walleye with hazelnut beurre blanc is fantastic.

Now living in Chicago and coming back to Fond du Lac, I honestly wasn’t expecting much, but they really seem to know what they’re doing. There are some really nice flavor combinations, the food is well cooked, service is good, and it is a great value. This has become my «go to» place when I’m back up in FDL. Some of the items are pretty standard, but some others are great, like the strawberry walnut salad I had, which I think was a special.
I will say though, that a lot of their flavored butters are just strange. What exactly is it that I’m going to put peanut butter cup butter on?

Decent lunch place with good, inexpensive lunch specials and quick service. They have a $ 5 lunch special with a handful of sammiches and sides, so you really can’t go wrong there. I had the fajita wrap which was decent but nothing special. It’s also nice having the option of a fresh fruit cup instead of fries, although the fries looked muy delicioso.
