Schmitty’s Bar & Grill

If you want a great burger, Schmitty’s is the place to go. Their pizza, chicken wrap, reuben, are all very good. My favorite is their onion petals with ranch dip yummy. Staff hustles like no other and always friendly and attentive. Great place to go for casual food.

My wife was planning a party for her mom and booked Schmitty’s for the party. Everything hunky-​dory, sent out invites, good to go. Then a couple weeks before the party they call and tell us we can’t have the party at 6pm, it has to be 7:30pm. We already booked 6! The invites are out! WTF! They refused to accommodate us, they refused to honor their commitment even though we had already booked 6pm so we moved the party elsewhere. We had to scramble to find a new venue send updates out to all the guests, etc etc.
It’s shocking and shameful that a business would pull a switcheroo like this.

Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed. it was our first time here. ordered appetizers and burgers. the potato skins and chicken tenders were enough for a meal in themselves. the burgers were also very good. we will be back.

I had the Cajun chicken sandwich with a pretzel bun it was very good and chicken soup. My wife had the Portabella mushroom burger and onion peels both were excellent. My wife and I were very happy.

Great new updates to the building and the atmosphere is like most other bars. Parking can be a challenge but as of this morning it looks as if a new parking lot is being built.
The food ranges from your typical bar food including pizza, calzones, and fish to more healthier and «meatier» options as well. Just be sure to get there at least 30 minutes before the kitchen closes. I have been here several times after a meeting and they get upset and at times pushy in telling you that the kitchen is closing.

We were in from the DC area to visit family a few weeks ago and craving Fish Fry… Schmittys certainly didn’t disappoint. And the craft beers and specialty drinks??? Pure heaven! We were in town for 4 days and visited the restaurant 5 different times. Guess you can say we loved everything about it. Pizza was awesome, brats were out of this world. And the staff? Fabulous! So attentive and remembered us each time we returned. Hardest working and fastest moving owner we’ve ever seen! Can’t wait to return on our next visit!

Love the happy hour $ 1 16oz beers. Good food and most of the bartenders are very nice. Great spot right on the lake, or ice depending in the time if year.

i have been here many times and the food is okay, but it is safe and kinda boring– not too much different from most of the restaurants in fdl. the thing that is really bad about this restaurant is the waitstaff.– if they’re not ignoring you, then their behind the bar making thier own drinks… Don’t get me wrong– i know that this is probably not the waitresses fault, but it is however the OWNER’S FAULT. how do you expect one person to get their own drinks, seat their tables, take drink and food orders, prep/​take out their own food, AND check their tables out? this place has EXTREMELY poor managment, and is in desperate need for organization… my advise: do not go on a busy night (thurs-​sun) otherwise you will be waiting for a llllonnnng time. …

One of the better pub and casual meal places in Fond du Lac. The burgers are very well made with fresh ground beef and excellent toppings. The Cacti burger is especially good. The chicken sandwiches are juicy and well seasoned. Onion rings are hot and crispy.
Friday nights I recommend the walleye dinner ($ 11). The regular sized one is two large pieces, breaded and fried to golden brown and delicious. The fish is mild, firm and flakey with excellent flavor. If you are really hungry order the large which puts another two big pieces on the plate for only $ 6.00 more.
The bartenders and wait staff are friendly. When they are busy, there can be a bit if a wait, but the drinks are well made and the atmosphere great.

I have been to this place on several occasions and have been very impressed with the food. The portions are generous and it always tastes great. That’s the good
The bad is that the service is consistently poor. I have been in here at a variety of times and days and one thing is for sure, if you aren’t one of the regulars chances are you are going to wait. I waited to be acknowledge while sitting front and center in the bar. The girl even took the time to serve the guy who came in a few minutes after I did and based upon their interactions they knew each other. Finally after waiting to be asked what I wanted the waitress acted insulted that I would ask for a menu, God forbid a guy eat. After waiting to get my menu I again waited for her to come back for my order. Granted she had time to roll silverware, get another round for the group of 5 regulars next to me stopped to look at me then turned to walk back into the kitchen for another few minutes. When she eventually came back take my order my food showed up in the window rather timely however my only chance of seeing the food while it was still hot came when one of the other waitresses grabbed the wrong order, realized the tickets didn’t match and so my food arrived. Once again the food is delicious however it took me moving my empty glass several times and 12 min (Yes I timed it) to get a refill. The fastest portion of my dining experience came when I paid the bill, nobody had a problem taking my money. I considered leaving a penny for a tip in hopes of server 53 getting the hint however I’m sure she would dismiss the gesture as me being cheap. Good thing she looks great from the back side since her waitressing abilities definitely won’t get her very good tips.
This rant is not without purpose, my only hope is that the owner of Schmittys reads this and has a long talk with his servers. McD’s may not have the best food in town however I won’t die of starvation while waiting for decent service

This is not your standard Fondy bar. Their beer selection is FANTASTIC, the bartenders are quick and courteous and it’s NOT on Main Street meaning you don’t get the typical riffraff. The prices are reasonable and there is plenty of room to spread out. This is the second time I’ve been to this bar (I normally avoid Fondy as much as I can) and I have to say this is going to be my regular haunt when I’m in town.
