I recently had the good fortune to go up to Wisconsin for a fun girls weekend, and we made a plan to stop at the Spice Crate on the way back home. My friends had been there before, but I had not. It is a local family run business, and both Erin and Ted were friendly and very helpful. I found out that they hand mix the wonderful spice offerings. I loved the shop — it was new and squeaky clean, and laid well and attractively with real wooden crates. Not only did they have a vast array of spices which were well priced — but also some cooking gear, artisan WI cheeses, delicious candies and some WI homemade crackers, with other great tasting accompaniments — such as spicy pickles and giardiniera. I am very happy with my purchases of spices, cheese and crackers, and hope to return soon the next time I am up north. But I found I can also make purchases online at
— so no worries on waiting for another road trip!
