Filippou’s Twisted Pizza

Passing through on the way to the airport, we stopped in for a bite. Not from the area. We ordered the shrimp scampi pizza. It took a little while, and as it turned out, the kitchen made the wrong pizza. Hey, I’ve made mistakes. I’m an easy going guy. We needed to get to the airport to pick someone up so we were in a little bit of a rush. 15 min later our pizza came out, but we had to take it to go. They did the right thing and didn’t charge us.
So why the five stars? The pizza was freaking awesome! Seriously. It sat in the car for over an hour and when we got it home we just heated it up and it was like it was fresh out of the oven. I’d go again if I found myself in the area

Ordered the Aegean Chicken Wrap. A wrap consisted of cooked chicken breast, hummus, roasted red pepper, shredded lettuce, and sliced tomatoes. It was delicious. The chicken is not too dry. The wrap is also inexpensive and reasonably sizable.
Service is friendly. You can sit outside and pets are welcome. This restaurant specialized on pizza. Although I have not order one, it smells good. It also serves burgers, sandwiches, calzones, and salads. There are lighter and vegetarian options too. I would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for inexpensive and sizable food.

This review is for the new Wakefield Fillipou’s which doesn’t have a Unilocal page yet. I felt the need to write this review to save anyone else the unfortunate experience of having to eat this food! We decided to get a variety of foods to try on our first visit there-​from pizza, to burgers to nachos, and they were all awful and barely edible. Don’t waste your $ or time, they are indeed twisted.

I stopped here with a friend. The menu was pretty big which is nice. We sat outside, but I think that made us a little «out of side out of mind.» So service was a little slow.
I got eggplant pizza, it was pretty good just a little greasy. I will say it tasted great the next day as cold pizza without heating it up, so that’s a plus. I probably wouldn’t go again but that’s cause greasy pizza upsets my stomach.
Note: it was only a LITTLE greasy, I have a sensitive stomach.

Pitbulls over Kids policy in effect!
This is the worst dining establishment in RI. They literally prioritized two vicious Pitbulls in the outside dining area. The two animals were pulling their owners down the sidewalk and they sat at a table. As predicted, the two dogs aggressively went after a passing dog almost pulling the table over. I was trying to enjoy a meal with my three children. My four year old was horrified. The gutless waitstaff gave the lamest answer to my complaints that they were pet friendly. So basically, they were willing to choose two vicious animals over a Dad with his three small children. I will never come here again. I am a dog owner and I think it is inconsiderate and rude of the restaurant and the dog owners to bring loud or aggressive dogs to a dining establishment. I don’t even get the whole pet friendly policy… what if someone is allergic to dogs?

Gave this place a million chances they always messed up my order. I ordered from here at least 10 times and my order was messed up more than half.

Everything was just average at best. The topping on the two small pizzas our party ordered were very good. The sauce and dough were another story. Sauce was very bland dough was not good at all. The wings were ok and the bbq pork nachos lacked cheese and toppings. Had better won’t be.

Food is good especially wings. Service was terrible. They inundated the kitchen by sitting tables all at the same time and they could not handle it. Everyone’s food was mixed up. Our waitress seemed to be new and should not have been waiting tables yet. It was most likely the first spring Friday night where outside seating was open so I hope it will get better as the weekends go on.

Delivery was fast; no issues there – the food was awful. They have access to a bunch of amazing local ingredients but they’ve gone with store-​bought cheap crap. It’s one of those places that loads your plate with tons of low quality food to make up for how absolutely horrible/​bland it tastes.

Always have the BEST experience with Kerrie! She has such a great professional and happy demeanor! She ensures our orders are always spot on! The pizza is fantastic, as is the tuna wrap! And let’s not forget those calzones! Thank you Twisted Pizza, and Kerrie, for a great dining experience! I love coming back time and time again!

Great food my favorite is the garlic parm wings and kerrie is my favorite waitress she makes you feel like family

Best pizza in town service is great and friendly! Food is to die for! Patio is enormous and love the live entrainment during the summer months!

Food is always great and the staff is very fun and friendly. Tina has been my server the last few times and she does an amazing job. There eggplant fries are very good a nice change from normal fries.

Literally one of the best bacon cheeseburgers I’ve ever had. The bread is freshly made and borderline orgasmic. French fries are wedge-​like and well seasoned. The burger came exactly as ordered. We’ve had the pizza and a few other grinders from here and always has us coming back for more. Highly recommend. Keep up the high quality food and attention to detail
Have now had a variety of things on the menu. Only place I’ll order from now. Amazing.

Since my last review I’ve stopped ordering as much from here… at first it was a couple mistakes. now my whole order is a mess. let’s start with what I ordered… chicken ceaser wrap add tomatoes and I mentioned adding crutons as well and the girl assured me there were crutons already on it. the past two wraps I’d ordered did not have crutons on it. Next cheese burger club. medium. mozz sticks and potato skins. okay. Not a hard order. Very simple. well apparently not. My wrap was without crutons AGAIN. the burger was so over cooked my husband didn’t eat it, our mozz sticks and skins were both cold when we got it home and both came without appropriate sauces. no marinara or sour cream. the mozz sticks I tried to warm up but they never became hard. just warm and floppy. I called to tell them about the sauces and was put on hold for a rediculous amount of time, i hung up. What happened twisted?! Staff change or what? Whatever changed is not working guys. I’ll try again in the future. I always do, I absolutely loved this place.

Their pizza is out of this world. Twisted is a very nonchalant and relaxed place. It’s located on Main Street so it’s the perfect place to grab a bite after a long day of shopping and walking around. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The portions are perfect, especially if you’re looking to share.
Food — We ordered the shrimp scampi and santorini pizzas. The shrimp scampi was delicious. I would have liked to have had a tad more shrimp and tomatoes. There were a few slices that had only 3 or 4 pieces of shrimp (the shrimp is very small). The santorini pizza had breaded eggplant, broccoli rabe, tomatoes, and ricotta. The eggplant was perfectly seasoned. I’m a huge fan of eggplant and sometimes it isn’t seasoned properly, but Twisted clearly knew what they were doing! There was a little too much broccoli rabe, and since it has an acquired taste, too much of it can be overbearing. Overall, we had a wonderful experience here. I highly recommend ordering both of these pizzas. I’m really looking forward to going back and trying their other specialty pizzas!

Steve filippous pizza, on main st EAST GREENWICH is the best pizza ever, I am a pizza maniac, I tried almost every pizza place in town, unfortunately there is nothing comparable to filippiou pizza in East Greenwich, they even do delivery too.
I have to rate it 5 stars, because it is sooooooo good.

Waiter was extremely pushy and rude. Sat at our table and talked to us when we clearly weren’t interested. He slapped our son twice and kept telling him that he wasn’t allowed to use his phone. HORRIBLE SERVICE. DON’T RECOMMEND.

I was a big fan of their Chicken Parmesan pizza, but not anymore. The chicken was tough and chewy to eat. So much so that I had to pick off the chicken and eat the pie without it. I was a raving fan but not so much now.

Every time we’ve been here, we’re always amazed at the friendly service and the great food. Last week, we ordered a calzone and a cheeseburger, both cooked to perfection and a generous portion.

Every order placed here has been filled incorrectly. This happens whether you call or place the order online. Even the simplest order of chicken quesadillas has come to my house with turkey, instead of chicken. I called about the error, requested a replacement, and they told me that there had been no mistake: that I must be incorrect. When I insisted that indeed, it was turkey and it tasted terrible, they said they would deliver a new one. Surprise! The new one never came!
This is just one incident out of many. Order buffalo tenders with ranch and you’ll receive wings with blue cheese. Order a dinner that comes with fries and whoops! They will forget them. I’ve asked for the simple addition of ricotta to a calzone and gotten it stuffed with provolone! After giving this place so many tries, I just can’t anymore. When they get it right, it’s okay but, it’s not worth your food possibly being inedible when it shows up. Don’t waste your time or money.

Whether you are eating in, taking out or staying home and waiting for delivery, Filippou’s is an excellent choice. Their pizza always is fresh, covered in yummy ingredients and cooked to perfection. The bbq chicken pizza is hands-​down the best I’ve ever had (ask for extra bbq sauce) and the eggplant pizza is delicious! They serve gluten-​free too and honestly, it’s the best around!
If you’re eating in, try the eggplant fries. Seriously, you will not be craving for the real thing after trying these.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We strolled into the restaurant late one Friday night a few weeks back and the staff welcomed us despite readying the close. They were very attentive without being overbearing. The meal was great!
I also love that they deliver to Apponaug. There’s something to be said for excellent pizza delivery!

Great food, awesome pizza, but the twisted pizza fries are my favorite item off their menu! While I prefer the pizza from Effie’s Twisted in Exeter, these guys do a great gov and their pizza fries are better than Effie’s. Fun environment inside, good beer selection and fun to people-​watch on Main St in EG.

Food is always good and my fiancé and I love ordering however, the service and lack of consistency is why I’m giving 2 stars. As a business owner myself I understand that consistency is the most important thing — when it comes to service and product.
Most of the people I talk to when I order are very rude. I understand it must be busy and taxing to answer the phones all night but that is the business you are in so maybe be a bit more courteous.
When I say lack of consistency I mean that sometimes I can get something but the next time I call «they don’t do that». Well which is it?! We get gluten free pizza and sometimes we can do half the pizza one way and the other half another way and sometimes we can’t. Why wouldn’t you be able to do that? It doesn’t make sense. And sometimes I call 15 minutes before closing to order delivery and it is fine to do so and other times it’s not allowed. My fiancé and I work late so that is the only time we can order and it’s frustrating when I call and can’t get a delivery.
I just tried to order 20 minutes before close and was greeted with «thank you for calling twisted pizza — our grills are off.» Okay. I asked if we could get delivery «nope» I said okay never mind I guess — and she just hung up. So sorry I’ve wasted your time.
I think from now on we will be getting our pizza elsewhere. My suggestion is to better train your people to know what you can or cannot do and maybe close when you’re supposed to and not turn people away on a Saturday night because you want to close.

This is a wonderful family owned business and have been a staple in EG for over 10 years. The pizza is awesome and the sandwiches are fantastic! This was my go to pizza place when I lived in the area. They also have a great outdoor seating area with heaters. This is a great community pizza place that is awesome for big groups and families!

My wife & I were actually traveling to another restaurant when we passed by this gem. The outside seemed so inviting we decided to call and ask if our two small Pomeranians could join us outside since they were in a stroller. Every single waitperson was super nice and inviting and we can’t wait to go back. The pizza was excellent and the outside seating had overhead fans a huge plus in our book. If you haven’t visited East Greenwich it’s a super cute Main Street with great shops friendly people and a no rush atmosphere. This is probably one of the best experiences we have ever encountered. A must visit and we highly recommend. Thanks again

One of the bright spots for this restaurant is the outdoor seating option. Very nice open patio. The
service at the restaurant was terrible. It wasn’t busy at all, yet the servers didn’t come by often and the food took an extremely long time to come out. The mozzarella sticks tasted frozen and were flavorless. I had the chicken parm pizza which was pretty good and the small pizza was a good size. However the 1 Star was primarily because of the terrible service. I understand a slower service with a busy restaurant however there were only 8 tables occupied the entire time we were here. I wouldn’t return based on this experience.

Filippou’s Twisted Pizza just opened a new location at 915 Tiogue Avenue in Coventry!!! Great community minded owners!

As safe places to go when you aren’t sure what you want to eat, it’s hard to beat this place. They have several options– apps, salads, sandwiches, pizza, and desserts. This is a good date night option as well as a great work lunch option. They have an outdoor patio that is covered for rainy or colder days (and heated). I’ve only eaten the sandwiches and wings, but on the four occasions I have been here for lunch they have been both quick as well as tasty. I have taken work folks here too and they enjoyed it. While this isn’t a place I’d go for a romantic evening, it is a great lunch spot to go with friends, coworkers, or even a first date. Give it a shot and see what you think!

Update from my horrible experience with Twisted Pizza. They still have have not refunded my money for the inedible pizza that was delivered to my house. I have called over the last few months (yes I said months) and I have spoken to Kevin, the manager and he has stated repeatedly that the manager will call me back and he will be the one refunding my money. Still waiting. Making another call to them but not feeling very hopeful. I guess I should file a police report for theft! Save your money and go where the pizza is good and the owner is honest!!!
