This place is awesome! I was about to go to the bar next door (same ol’ Joseph’s), but I came here instead on a Friday night because I saw a live conjuntó. Doesn’t get ridiculous packed to the point where you can’t dance, which is a good thing, in my opinion. Drinks are cheap too! It was a fun, chill night. Then I came again on a Sunday because I heard their brunch was good. Indeed it was! Their birria was on point! And I love that they leave the bottle of champagne and juice for you to serve yourself instead of having to wait for a waiter to come refill you. The owner is super friendly too! Great place.

This is a bummer review but as someone who has lived in Downey most of my life it’s super important.
1. This place has cheap good food & beer
2. Owner is very nice, good service
3. However, the atmosphere was the ABSOLUTE worst I have ever experienced…
I love supporting local businesses. I showed up there with 2 friends about 2 hours ago to watch the dodger game (they have banners proudly stating they show the dodger games). The place had about 16 people in it.
They had the dodger game on, but they had music playing over it even louder. We soon learned that the table of people behind us was the owners son (or sons). There was about 8 of them, so half the bar… They were controlling the music, playing the same 4 songs on repeat, being obnoxiously loud, some of their friends kept yelling «get all these dodger fans out of here» umm… We were the only paying customers there — that group was walking behind the bar serving themselves. If that wasn’t bad enough, they weren’t buzzed, no, they were completely drunk by about 5 o’clock. We dealt with it for almost 2 hours. The tipping point is when the owners son siting behind us begins yelling to his friend «fuck you» «you don’t fucking know me» «I don’t have to fucking listen to you» «do you know who I am?»
We got up immediately, because it seems like they were about to fist fight, asked for our check, meanwhile he’s still yelling fuck this fuck that in the background. There were only 2 patrons left at this point, that guy cleared house.
We ran over to the next bar over Joesph’s, and they saved the day.
Did I mention they were at the table behind us the entire time?
Very sad. Don’t think I’ll ever go back, that was the most unwelcoming atmosphere ever…

I heard good things about this place so I decided to take my daughter for brunch, as I walked in I was greeted by the little old guy that everyone talks about. He was polite and very smiley. As I walked to the restroom, We observed 3 nicely dressed gentlemen sitting down at a table and were singing Spanish songs obnoxiously loud, my daughter then asked, «why are those men playing with salt»? As I glanced over I couldn’t believe my eyes, they were snorting cocaine out in the open! A lot of cocaine! I was really uncomfortable and decided I should tell the owner (gray haired man) but that option soon changed after I witnessed him sitting down with the 3 gentlemen and patting them on the back while they continued to do drugs out in the open in the middle of the day, inside a family restaurant! I couldn’t wait to just leave the establishment. I’ll never step foot in this place again.

Great food and good menu. Breakfast are delicious. Been here for both breakfast and lunch. The service is great and David, the owner is very nice and attentive.

I love this place! When I first came to dine here they were transitioning and making adjustments from the previous owner so I understand the growing pains when it comes to transition.
I came here for their Sunday brunch and was pleasantly surprised by their level of service. I think this place is being managed by a White haired gentleman that is always pleasant and nice to his customers. Service wise no problemo!
On Saturday nights they have karaōke nights it makes for a fun night if you bring your friends since most of the line up singers are oldies but goodies.
Sunday’s make for a great brunch here, they don’t have an extensive buffet selection but they do have all you can eat menudo/​posole and unlimited mimosa’s under $ 17. + tax! (Deal!) The mini alcoholic in me loves this! They bring you an ice bucket to keep your champagne bottle chilled and a glass of Orange juice. What’s neat about this mimosa deal is they replenish your bottle as soon as you’re out as part of the brunch. Pretty damn awesome if you ask me. The Mimosa Sunday brunch is worth it.

Food is great. Service could use some work. Only been here on Friday nights. Gets pretty busy around 9/​10pm. Definitely be prepared to walk to the bar to get drinks even if you’re there for dinner. Probably will only return for drinks from now on, not dinner.

Decided to go out for Sunday brunch. Found this place. Food was great, staff was very friendly and explained what everything was on the buffet. Endless mimosas was great we were never out of champagne or orange juice.

2^nd time coming to this place and the old man is just plain rude. On top of that overpriced. He straight out told me I Can’t substitute my drink that came with my breakfast burrito, but didn’t hesitate to charge me for an additional drink (water). Won’t be going back anymore!

Came in with my wife to have some Drinks… Spanish band was playing, music sound was terrible where the PATRONS couldn’t hear the music lyrics. My wife convinced me that it was a Back yard band that was playing & needed exposure. Made the the best of our Time at this joint. A band u need to listen are

Good food and great customer service. Love ordering over the phone the man who answers is always super friendly and happy. Love the fiesta nachos. Fries are good burgers are ok. Most plates are great. Can’t go wrong and they deliver!

Almost got swindled by the owner today. Ordered nachos. Menu said $ 7.42… he charges me $ 8.78. Ordered taco salad. Menu said $ 5.68… he charges $ 5.75. Ordered a 60oz pitcher of beer. Menu said $ 14… he charges me $ 18. Ordered two 16oz of the same draft beer. Menu says $ 4 each. He charges me $ 10 total for the two beers. Did he assume i was drunk and wouldn’t look at the receipt in detail?
Here were his explanations in chronological order.
1. The new minimum wage will soon be higher so his prices went up.
2. Cost of meat is higher so his prices went up.
3. He just took over the business yesterday so he didn’t have chance to update his menu.
(Btw his picture is all over the wall, on this Unilocal review… yes the old man with white mustache… and his picture or a drawing of it is on all his napkin dispenser so i suspect he didn’t just take over yesterday.)
4. His wife comes out from the kitchen and tries to tell me that the price on the receipt is with taxes even though it’s clearly added on the bottom.
5. Pictures should validate my story.
6. He re-​rang me but his prices still were higher than his menu.
7. Gave me some change to which I replied I want my exact according to what he advertised. Then he gives me a dollar bill and says «This should cover it»
8. He is overcharging about $ 8 so $ 1 would not «cover it.»
I would like to thank all my elementary math teachers.

My husband and I came here for Date Night and I absolutely love the service and the food is amazing. We came back today with our kids and again amazing service and the Sunday Brunch with bottomless mimosas puts the cherry on top of a great place.
Favorite dishes: Chipotle Chicken Sandwich; Mambo Fiesta Nachos; onion rings; and Menudo!

Great service and great food! Not dissapointed! It was a very pleasant experience and I will return!

Very tasty chicken fajitas. Possibly the healthiest Mexican takeout I’ve ever had. Very light and nice hint of citrus. Could have had more peppers and onions though.

Champagne Brunch review: We had a group of 12 lovely ladies for brunch and we all enjoyed it. It’s a small brunch buffet, but it was enough. Fruit, breads, soups– albondigas and a delicious tortilla soup, chilaquiles, beans, rice, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes. You also get juice or soda or you can upgrade to unlimited champagne (we did).
The service was great and a wonderful time was had by all. I will definitely be back for brunch — that tortilla soup is calling me!

The chipotle sandwich is a must have, it has kept me coming back and they never let me down.
Besides the great food their customer service is great I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

I ordered delivery and the man who answered the phone was very rude and not helpful with assisting a first time customer. He rudely informed me that there was a $ 17 minimum delivery order, so I ordered more unwanted food and gave him my info. An Hour later, the driver is at my door with my $ 22 delivery. The food was good, nothing spectacular, however I will not be ordering from here again, solely because of the rude staff.

Brunch is really good ! Unlimited supply of food. Good taste very good. Just enough space to have a group. Very friendly staff

Came here for the morning unlimited food and champagne. It was about $ 17.
The food was buffet style and as a vegetarian there wasn’t many options but what they had was good enough. The champagne was normal and comes with one cup of orange juice.
The service was really nice and very attentive

The brunch here is awesome, all you can eat and bottomless mimosas.
I get really bad gas every time I go to Mexican restaurants but Mambo Grill hasn’t given me a stanky stanky yet
