This used to be my favorite burger place in uptown. I don’t know what happened but it has changed, the service is not as good as it used to be, the food also is not as good as it used to be but you still can get a decent burger there. I just think that there are many much better places around.

I feel like I shouldn’t even be writing this review since I didn’t eat here. But scrolling through the photos of the food, I feel like I’m missing out. We stopped here for some drinks before the summer soirée Unilocal event at Del Frisco’s. It looked like a cute little neighborhood spot in uptown. We walked in and it was empty. Only one couple at the bar. The friendly bartender greeted us and offered some suggestions. We noticed the drinks were priced pretty well. Around the $ 6 range for specialty cocktails. I opted for the adult cherry limeade which was the bees knees. We grabbed a seat outside for some fresh air and people watching. It was a really great time! Too bad we could only stay for about half an hour. Next time, I’m coming back here and ordering one of those burgers and trying all the ketchup!

I had a great experience at Ketchup Burger Bar… The service was great and the burger was cooked«Spot On»… The waiter recommended the«Nooner»… Bacon, sautéed mushrooms and onions, Swiss cheese, and a fried egg… I opted for the onion rings… Great recommendation!!! I will go back again and agin.

I haven’t actually eaten here, but just as an FYI… they use ONLY peanut oil and CANNOT accomodate any food allergies:(I called to check, because I have been wanting to try this place for a minute now. So sad… Buuut, they were very nice over the phone, and the girl took the time to go and verify with the chef about their cooking procedures, ingredients, and so on. I’d rather have a place be honest, than tell me «you should be ok?» That’s happened way too many times to count! So, just a heads up, if you’re an allergic foodie like me, and nuts are your kryptonite… look elsewhere!

I was really expecting a lot more from this place– and actually made plans to come here for a good burger for lunch. When my partner got here around 12:45 on a Saturday afternoon, there was maybe 2 or 3 other tables. The place wasn’t anything fancy, but I wasn’t expecting that anyways; and the place was a bit dirty– but still had my hopes up. For starters, I ordered the trio of fries — truffle, zucchini and buffalo. The truffle fries realllly disappointed me! It seemed as all it was were just warm fries with Parmesan cheese peppered onto it; I had no taste of the truffle oil on there, which makes me think they didn’t even put any on there. The buffalo fries were alright, I liked them because they were at least thinly cut, but they weren’t anything fancy– really just tossed in wing/buffalo sauce. The zucchini fries were the only saving grace of my entire meal, because those were actually very tasty. Now onto the entrée, I didn’t see the Brie burger on the menu that I’ve seen others review about :(so that was upsetting. I was going to opt for the lamb burger; but our waiter advised me to try out the«burger of the week» which I really shouldn’t have ordered. It was a chicken breast, with pico de gallo, pepperoni with lettuce and a ranch spread. The bun became overly soggy so I just stopped eating it halfway thru, the chicken was ridiculously dry and did not seem fresh at all! It seemed like an old chicken breast they were just wanting to get rid of. The pepperoni was not good either, ugh just seems like some cheap precooked and prepackaged pepperoni that was store bought. The only fresh thing on the burger that I liked was the pico, because even the lettuce seemed old and wilted– ugh. I probably and regrettably should have just stuck to a good olé burger. I also requested for grilled onions and the waiter said it would be fine– yet it didn’t come with any at all! The pepper jack cheese that was supposedly on the burger didn’t even taste like pepper jack, more like a mozzarella or Swiss– either way the chicken wasn’t even fresh anyways because it was barely warm– the cheese hardly even melted on it. The regular fries that came with it weren’t even that good– just regular fries that looked exactly like the truffle fries, with hardly any seasoning an it tasted an felt under fried… My partner wasn’t too hungry and just asked for what soups they had to offer, and the waiter recommended the chicken tortilla soup. So he opted for that, and when it came out; it really didn’t even look appetizing at all, I was almost scared to try it. It seemed like it was sitting in a pot for days, and didn’t look fresh at all. Still, I decided to try it since the waiter really talked it up, but nothing too great. It tasted just a ok and a bit spicy but he could’ve done better– but can’t expect so much from a burger place. Now– I guess what this place is known for is there house made ketchups, so I decided to try each one; the original house ketchup, chipotle and habanero. The house ketchup really wasn’t all that, the habanero one was probably my favorite, probably because I like spicy– but still this just wasn’t enough to make this place anything that good. There are just so many other burger options that I just can’t see myself coming back here, especially with a hopdoddy just opening up right across the street. I had such high hopes for this place :(oh well.

This was the last stop before leaving back to San Francisco. I just thought it was an average restaurant with a cheesy name. Sat down and ordered a turkey burger with bacon, and got the buffalo fries. I noticed they had a slew of sauces on the table, different types of Ketchup. First thought was, oh no… if they need this much variety in sauces they are trying to mask their food. This was all from a previous bad experience with a BBQ place. Food came out in a timely matter. I always eat the fries first. I tried most of their sauces, and they were pretty good. I didn’t wanna try the house ketchup because I thought it would be just regular. However, I finally tried it last. OMGTHISISTHEBESTSAUCEEVER. I LOVETHISPLACE. I COULDNTSTOPPUTTINGTHEHOUSEKETCHUPONEVERYTHING! It was a good note to leave Dallas on. Will definitely be back. PS. Don’t order the buffalo fries if you are going to use their sauces.

So I went to Ketchup with my buddies from work today for lunch. We eat at all kinds of places around downtown, just like everyone else who works down here. All I have to say is that Ketchup is pure awesomeness. Their A\C is this first thing you feel once you step inside from the heat, obviously. The relief was well deserved and abundant. BOOM! Made my day… The seating was comfortable, the tables were clean, the staff was friendly… BOOM! Day made again… The burgers and fries were GREAT. Lots of cool and unique options to choose from, all made fresh and hot. They also have several homemade ketchups on the table for you to try. I recommend the Habanero Ketchup. …BOOM! Just realized why it’s called Ketchup… …BOOM! They have tons of different and local beers to choose from… … BOOM! Day made again… Unless you’re holding a small child… Drop what you’re doing and get there.

This place will sadly suffer soon because of Hopdoddy opening down the street, but it’s such a gem of a spot that I can’t let it slip by without a great review! Boo-bear and I were craving burgers like crazy when we were in uptown and thought that this would be a great lunch spot. Leslie Brenner wrote it up in a recent review of her favorite burger places in DFW, so I was excited! we were only 1 of 3 sets of people there, which provided for a nice atmosphere where we got to chat with the bartender a lot and get his opinion on some of the brews on tap. I had El Chingon from Four Corners Brewery and Boo had a new bock-like beer from Revolver. I got the regular ketchup burger with zucchini fried(this is an upgrade) and boo got the Roadhouse with regular fries. I only tried my burger, because it was HUGE. I was worried I couldn’t finish it! It was cooked perfectly medium, had great flavor from their house sauce on it, and the zucchini fries were deliciously crispy but fresh from whole veggies in there. Basically deep-fried veggie strips with a homemade ranch sauce. HEAVEN! Boo’s regular fries were also delicious skin-on-the-fry russet, which I love. I might have to come back just to have a fry trio! Bill was around $ 30ish with our two entrees and beers, so decent for a good burger place. I’ll definitely try to come back again for brunch soon as they had this weird«Snap Dragon» drink on the menu that sounds amazing!

This is the best burger place that you’re not going to. I don’t know why this place isn’t always packed because it’s awesome. I love the different ketchups that they make. It really makes this place unique. I have never had a bad burger here. The meat is always delicious! The burgers come with the awesome house fries but you can substitute them for their other yummy fry options. They also have happy hour and brunch drink specials! If you’re looking for a burger place in Dallas, give Ketchup a try!

Great food, good service. Must try the fish tacos. I know, I know its a burger bar, but trust me, they are delicious! The buffalo fries are also very tasty. The atmosphere is good, only real issue is parking if its prime time. They also do delivery, which they are usually quick and the prices are very reasonable. If you are looking for good fish tacos, check this place out!

This place was great we, came here when I had a friend in town and ahead of time she found a Groupon for here. So we had a girls afternoon and made our way from Bedford all the way there. I got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, which is my go-to sandwich I LOVE! And it was very good. I would so come here again in heartbeat. We sat out at an outdoor table, and it was very nice. There was a small parking lot next to here, so it was easy to find parking.

I bet they have my dad outside with an old charcoal grill. That’s how my burger tasted. It tasted like a grill in the backyard. I like that. And while I usually don’t give a rats-behind about presentation, someone took the effort to askew our buns and make the toppings really pretty. I had the truffle parm fries, they were meh. I will not get them again. I couldn’t really taste the truffle oil. It seemed like someone just shook parm all over hot fries. Now, my buddy had the buffalo fries and they were thin and spicy with blue cheese dip. I wish I’d had those. Here’s my overall beef with the place. You get fries with your burger. I get the schtick – it’s the Ketchup Burger Bar and you have to have fries so you can try their fancy ketchup. But then they offer a fry sampler where you get to pick three types of fancy fries. Well, I want a freakin’ burger and to split the fry sampler with my friend, who also wants just a burger. Didn’t think about that did ya, Ketchup? Our wait staffs answer – you get fries with your burger so don’t get the sampler. Our waiter was really nice, but unbending on the fry sitch. The atmosphere is dive bar with 80’s dance music playing. You do get to park in the lot behind Primo’s old digs, so there’s that. Overall, I’d go here again if that’s where my friends want to go, but I’m not going to drive across town with so many burger bars popping up all over.

The different ketchups were the highlight. This was a stop on a food tour I recently hopped on. I liked the atmosphere and the people were friendly, but the food was just meh. The burger was plain(twas either the Uptowner or the Ketchup Burger). There wasn’t really much flavor to it. If you dip it in their chipotle ketchup, it’ll taste better though. The fries were hot and tasty and had a little seasoning on them which I did enjoy. The ketchup sauce options are: House, Green Tomato, Chipotle and Spiced. Chipotle beat out the competition with the House sauce swinging up the rear. Their menu consists mainly of different burgers, sandwiches, a hot dog, salads, fries, onion rings and soups. Average price is around $ 9 for an item. Happy hour is from 4 – 7 M-F. I won’t run back to this one; sorry guys.

This place is one of my favorite places in uptown! Their menu provides more than just a neighborhood burger place; their tacos, chicken sandwich, and wings are some of my favorite items. It is a great place for a quick lunch or a happy hour. The reasonable price and excellent service make this a must-go restaraunt in uptown!

This review is way overdue and I didn’t write it for a long time on purpose. Ketchup isn’t something you go to every night unless it’s for the booze. Problem is… they don’t have top shelf, but can have top shelf prices. I used to drink here all the time but can’t bring myself to go back for multiple reasons. Burgers are ok but the fried pickles and onion rings are fantastic. I stopped going because of some of the clientele… this place seems to attract a specific set of asshats that feel like picking a fight is their purpose in life. No reason, no rhyme… just say nasty things to you off the cuff. Is that what you want when you’re trying to enjoy a drink? The unfortunate problem is that when regulars are chased away by these people the establishment has no choice but to keep them for revenue… but the circle continues as the asshat chasing everyone else away. It’s not typically a packed house and sometimes it can be down right sad. I won’t be going back… I’ll be walking by towards the top shelf liquor.

This place is so great! The variety of burgers and the sides are simply delectably divine. The habanero sauce or their house ketchup is out of this world. The service is great and the owner is so friendly and interacts with his customers. My friends and I came on a rainy night and loved this place. Owner even took us out to our cars with an umbrella and towels. Who does that?! BLOWNAWAY! :) We’ll definitely be back for more!

After a few visits, I’ve come to really like KBB. I love the location, right off the main street(McKinney Ave) with great shaded café seating. They have a couple of dining areas inside, the bar side is setup like the typical bar; bar up front and high top table seating facing the bar and a few TV on the walls. The other indoor dining space is more causal with a mix of booth and tables a little removed from the bar area. The Burgers are genuinely good. I enjoy a good gourmet burgers, especially the ones that are truly different. KBB has a good variety of burgers on the menu. Plus, check the board for the burger on the week and a few other specials. So far, my favorite burger has been the Lamb Burger, it’s was cooked to medium-well, it was moist and juicy, seasoned well. The grilled tomatoes are a great bonus, the added flavor and texture is just crazy and well as the mint spread. All flavors of the thin cut fries are good, fresh, and flavorful. But you must try the Chili Cheese Fries, it’s a awesome mess! Unfortunately, the one thing keeping KBB from being a four star to me, is the slow service. While the servers are working hard and they’re truly friendly and helpful, they are under staffed. On each visit, I’ve had slow service. If it’s busy, it’s really slow. The food is good, the bar is good, the atmosphere is great! KBB just needs quicker service!

The ketchup burger came up rated as one of the top burgers in DFW2012 by Les Bren. Although I was saddened by some of her picks, namely elevation burger and in-n-out, I hadn’t tried ketchup and wanted to know what it was all about. With wide seated booths, it was a good time to cozy in and enjoy a quick dinner with a friend. Almost too comfy, we both settled in «indian style»(do they still say this?) and I ordered the namesake ketchup burger and channeled Les Bren. Eh. She was being mighty generous in reviewing the burger as «perfectly proportioned» with the bun, as both my friend and I were left with hunks of bread that had no patty friend. I liked the caramelized onion and my patty was cooked to medium as requested, but there was nothing memorable about this burger, nor was I excited after my first bite. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad — but no where close to anything I’d rate as best of. What may have elevated this meal though, was the $ 3 frozen margarita. I’m normally a on the rocks girl myself, but under the suggestion of our server, went with a frozen peach. I found myself entering a slightly tipsy buzz at $ 1.50 worth of margarita. Why wasn’t I this cheap when I drank more? Would have saved me a lot of money! The drink prices are all day everyday, so if anything, settle in for a cheap buzz.

Ketchup is nothing fancy, but it’s far from your average burger joint. We all know that they specialize in unique ketchup flavors made fresh and in-house. Nice touch, but what really impressed me was the boatload of variety that they offer in fries and burgers. Ditch your standard plain fries and try sweet potato, garlic chive, spicy buffalo, zucchini, or white truffle parmesan fries! Each item is not only creative, it’s fabulously delicious. The lamb burger with feta and cucumber and the brie burger with brie, baby spinach and apple butter dijon are must! Service was super friendly, but can be slow at times. It’s a great option if you’re looking to eat for cheap in the congested area, but not wanting to deal with the crowd that comes with Uptown. Casual, inexpensive burgers, fries, and of course– ketchup!

I’d heard about Ketchup from my fellow Unilocalers and I’d seen their great patio along Hall Street. They now take the space where I believe Pastazio’s once was. They’ve got quite of bit of both interior and patio space. Their patio is a good one with lots of sidewalk space and plenty of people watching. I had the Brie Burger which was packed with flavor, packed with Brie, a unique apple butter sauce, and spinach. I asked for the burger Medium and it seemed to the flavor just right. However, I absolutely fell in love with the Fries Trio. You can choose any three flavors of fries and we opted for the Sweet Potato, Truffle Parmesan, and Garlic Chive. I loved every bit of the fries until there weren’t even crumbs at the bottom of the basket. The Truffle Parmesan stood out as my personal favorite. On top of that they have a vast selection of homemade kethcups and I can’t even remember all the flavors. The Chipotle stood out as my personal favorite and was a perfect match for the Sweet Potato. The service was good and our waiter was friendly. Another table near us seemed to be having a bit of trouble with their order although it seemed to be resolved by the manager. The prices were fair and the burgers were unique and flavorful. I saw that they have a Lamb Burger with Feta so I know that I must return. Overall, a great burger, amazing fries, and a great sidewalk patio in the neighborhood!
