My classmate works here and I had never been so decided to stop by. The place was easy to find(across from the Sbux that’s next to the hospital on Saratoga.) The ambiance was cozy and the staff was friendly, saying«Hello» as soon as I walked in. Small planet had a lot of sandwiches, soups, salads, and also quite a variety of desserts. I didn’t even know what to choose from until the Turkey Bacon Avocado sandwich caught my eye, best decision I ever made. My sandwich, chips, and drinks were a total of $ 10.54& the portions are very hearty. That thing was a heaven sent, I thanked the chef(AKA my classmate) she’s been there for awhile and I’m glad I have been now. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, especially if you’re just leaving the hospital or any other area. .Contains wifi.

They took very long for a half a sandwich and soup and when I finally got my soup the pasta was over cooked And had to exchange it for another kind. The half sandwich was really small not enough for my appetite. It was good though. The guy at the counter was so. Young girl was very polite

Small Planet: A Corpus Christi Institution If one is looking to eat in a locally created, owned and run Corpus Christi deli, this is THEPLACE. The Small Planet Delicatessen and Bakery has been a Corpus Christi institution for decades. The Deli has recently moved to The Southside. All items offered at the old location are still offered… PLUS there is now there is a breakfast menu and the deli stays open for an evening seating until 8:00. The seat arrangement is nice and open. There are both tables and booths. Up front they even have a couch and two easy chairs. Small parties are best for the deli. Individuals, couples, and small groups of friends or family are easily acomodated. The Turkey Gone Wild Sandwich is the signature sandwich. It’s made with oven gold turkey, two cheeses, purple onion, cucumber, lettuce, mayo and The Special Small Planet Avocado Spread and served HOT on pita bread. A variety of sandwiches, subs, panini’s along with wraps and a Gyro are offered. Each comes with house chips or fruit and a pickle spear. Burgers are also on the menu. Several cold deli salads are offered. The TRIO Salad, a choice of three salads, is a favorite for many. Each day two homemade soups are offered. Fresh Green Salads are a staple. When they moved they started to offer a full breakfast menu; biscuits and gravy, omelets, pancakes, french toast and even a taco. The Dessert Case is labeled«Decadent Desserts. An amazing variety of cookies, cakes, muffins, and pies is offered. My favorite is The Southwest: Rotisserie chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and avocado spread served on HOT sourdough ciabatta bread. The bread and avocado spread makes this sandwich. Recommendation for those that are trying the Small Planet Delicatessen: try something with their Avocado spread. It makes the sandwich.

The Turkey Jack is delicious as well as all the desserts! Everything appears to be clean and fresh. I’ve never experienced long wait times when I’ve ordered to-go or dined in.

Try the Elvis. So warm and delicious. Best spin on the pb&j ever! The planet BLT is a favorite as well as the trio salad. Fruit is always fresh. Tea is good. Desserts are delicious.

Hmm phoned ahead because a read everything takes awhile and was quite surprised when they told me my order would be ready in 5 – 10 min. I showed 10 min later and waited another 15. The Ruben sandwich was loaded w sauerkraut and almost no corned beef. Tasted okay but this wasn’t a good experience.

Sandwiches are exceptional! So are the desserts! If you’re short on time, call ahead to place your order. Food prep takes a little while, especially when they are busy during lunch hours. Worth the wait otherwise!

Good food specially for a quick snack or just lunch with mom. The décor and ambience is very innovative, welcoming and spacious. The food is good but over priced compared to other restaurants, one of my favorite and usually what I always order is the veggie sandwich is just simple, good presentation, a good combination of veggies and the bread is their specialty(on this special dish/item). And I guess the price is the only thing that makes me think twice before visiting.

Delicious! Food is always great. Last time I had the special, it was a ton of food and came with a drink. This time just chips and a sandwich. Would give 5 stars but service seems slow. Very clean, restrooms are even clean, major plus in my book for Corpus Christi! Staff is friendly. Family run I think… Great variety on the menu and full stocked bakery cases. Go there if you want to relax and chat with friends, they have checkers and a few other games so I don’t mind waiting a few minutes. Wouldn’t suggest going if you’re in a hurry though.

This is a nice local place to check out. Can’t go wrong with their menu choices– wide variety for everyone. Service is a bit slow, but it is worth the wait for fresh, yummy food.

I’ve been to both location in Corpus. The other one is better! This one seems to be newer but the food quality is markedly different. Also, the baked goods are not as good as what they have at the other location. Weird?! The food wasn’t bad but I’m doing only 3 stars as I know they can and do, do it better at the other one that I’ve been to.

Food was too salty. Found plastic wrap in my chicken fajita sandwich. Received apologies and offer of another sandwich. No thanks! Surprised wasn’t offered a refund. Didn’t request one. Just won’t be back.

I went here yesterday with my boyfriend for lunch. The service was a bit slow since it looked like they only had a couple people working at the time, but the staff there was really friendly. We ordered the French Dip and the Crunchy Tuna Salad sandwich. Both of these sandwiches were wonderful! The tuna salad tasted really fresh and the French Dip was cooked to perfection. The only problem I had with it was that it was bit pricey for lunch prices but that’s what to be expected with most deli places since you have to pay for everything separately. Overall, it was a really great place to eat and I will definitely go there again. Especially since I didn’t get to try their baked goods.

We went here to grab some lunch to go. It was our first time do we weren’t really sure what to expect. The menu was pretty impressive with a lot if sandwich choices ranging from traditional to exotic. I ordered the southwest chicken and my wife the salmon sandwich. The customer service was ok; not bad, not great. The restaurant itself was nice, very clean and modernly decorated. What was a little frustrating was the time it took to get the food. The restaurant was not that busy, maybe 6 people eating, but it took over 10 mins to get our sandwiches. Seems a little long for a deli. Granted both were grilled so maybe my expectations are too high, but I’ve never waited that long for a sandwich.

Had Caesar salad w/chicken, uploaded photo of it. Fresh romaine, seemed like the chicken was microwaved, actually I’m pretty sure it was reheated. sad when there was only 6 people in the restaurant. This place seems like a «posh» type bistro/deli business, yet they do not offer Gluten-Free bread. I would have totally guessed if anywhere in Corpus to get gluten-free options this would be it, especially when most of the menu is Sandwiches. Reason for 2 stars– Not gluten free friendly, chicken.

Would’ve given this place 5 stars if customers service was better, the guy at the front counter today wasn’t friendly or seemed annoyed that i mentioned their phones were down. i order from this place about 2 – 3 times a week lately. i always call ahead to pick up, so I had to drive there and wait 20 min for the order. But, because of their sandwiches and location, I keep going back! I got food poisoning from a salad about two weeks ago and that really scared me. I’ll stick to the sandwiches. I like supporting local business

Horray! A great place to go for lunch. I got the trio with smokehouse chicken salad, the antipasti and Greek salad. All were great. My husband got the club sandwich and it was fantastic. Definitely coming back. The raspberry white chocolate scone and the blueberry muffin was also pretty tasty. One of a kind in corpus!

Great food. Clean pleasant atmosphere. Staff can be inconsistent at times though… Been in twice. Once service got a 5 star– next time was a 2 – 3 star.

Despite consistently good dishes, I can’t help but compare to the original Small Planet on Alameda, and this is where it falls short. The portions are much smaller, they don’t have the entire menu selection, even just ordering cold salad takes forever. This location would probably stand on its own, but nothing extraordinary, especially when compared to the original location.
