Having had phở noodles in plenty of places in Los Angeles and various places in Corpus, this has got to be one of the worst. Not only is it the most expensive for a bowl of phở, the soup is just not good. I was very disappointed for the price I paid. I was expecting better tasting soup. Just bad.

This place is just sad. Being from Houston, I know my Vietnamese cuisine. Especially phở. their large bowl is large however it was a little bland. I give the phở 2 stars. The reason this review is 1 star is because their bun mi was disgusting. The bread was not toasted, nor was it a french loaf. It fell apart and tasted like it had been previously frozen(kinda gritty). The café so da tasted like instant coffee. Absolutely terrible. And I am so glad I didn’t order the spring rolls. Ive never seen spring rolls for more than $ 4 and they have theirs priced at 8.95 for the pork? Yeah right. Everything is over priced and simply not good. I guess this place has an average of 4 stars because it’s in corpus and there not much culture to the city. This place wouldn’t survive a week in houston.

The staff was extremely friendly and the food was great. There was a huge selection of Bubble Teas and the one I chose was awesome.

One of the best restaurants in CC, hands down! The #6, #23, Dino, actually just ask Viet or Chad what to get and you won’t be disappointed

This review is for carry-out service and one dish only – phở tai. Three and ½ stars for the phở alone. Another day down with a nasty flu-ish ailment and in need of that healing bowl of Asian noodle soup to fight the funk. For today’s dose, I tried Saigon Café and was treated to a sweeter-tasting cure than I expected, served in an even larger portion than HuDat Noodle. I was immediately impressed with the nuance of the flavor of the delicate broth, piping hot, warming my face when I breathed in its fragrance. However, I was surprised with how sweet the soup base tasted – not just from cinnamon, clove, or star anise, but almost as if sugar or honey was an ingredient. I added the traditional sprouts, onion, jalapeño, and lime, but after tasting a few times, opted to pour in the entire small container of Sriracha to compensate for the sweetness. Although the hot sauce helped a bit in toning down the sugar, I felt it took away from the balance of the other flavors. I should caveat by saying that despite my complaint, I ate the entire giant bowl. The steak slices were the saving grace: highest quality beef– touch of marble, full of flavor, and perfectly textured. As I sipped the last bit of broth from my enormous mixing bowl(the only vessel in my kitchen large enough to hold the gargantuan portion of soup Saigon serves), I felt satisfied, full and finally able to breathe through my previously congested nose. I’ll try Saigon again when I am able to enjoy my meal in the restaurant and rate the rear of the menu and service!

We went to get Bubble Tea, it smelled wonderful when we walked in. But then you get to looking and the place is filthy! On to the«tea» About 75% of the flavors for this«tea» had a big X before them, I asked what that meant and the kid behind the counter said that they were out of all of those. It’s not even tea, they are smoothies(not the tea that I’ve had before) that they put chunks of tapioca balls into. Not what it is supposed to be. I picked up a can of coconut soda from the glass counter and it was stuck and really greasy, the glass counter was coated in a greasy film. I won’t be going back. Clean up people!

Love this place portions are so huge! The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because on the day we went there they had problems with their air conditioner and it was so smoky I wish they would’ve opened a door little bit to let some of that smoke out !

I never thought it was possible to cook phở the wrong way, but the phở here is definitely not phở. It honestly should not even call my dish phở. The broth is way too sweet, crazy over sweetened(I’m still trying to figure out what could possibly make it that sweet). The meat cuts were way off also. The round-eye beef are cut too thick, making it way too chewy. The bean sprouts provided were old. We ordered the phở dac biet, and it was missing the tripe. Overall, my experience here has scarred me, I will not come back here for phở. However, I will admit the noodles were cooked up to par, but otherwise, I have never wanted to stop eating a bowl of phở ever until this experience. The broth was waaay too over sweetened, left a disgusting after-taste that lasted for a few hours after. I am assuming the broth is made from a pre-made powder. We just left disgusted and I am not the type to write bad reviews, but do NOT come here for their phở. They offer other dishes, but we only ordered the phở. We will likely not return.

I had the #28 with pork instead of tofu, and it was fantastic, it was all so fresh and flavorful… Highly recommended… And the phở is always good. Homemade egg rolls are to die for. Haven’t had a dish we didn’t enjoy here!!! The entire staff is super friendly, too!!!

Went to try the phở. It was waaay too sweet. Chunks of meat in the broth instead of sliced but that seems to be the norm here in Corpus. The place was a little run down looking and the condiments were either empty or almost empty. The staff was friendly enough but didn’t seem to be actually doing any upkeep(filling and cleaning condiments) of the restaurant. If this is the best phở in town then they need a new restaurant here. I won’t be going back.

Coming from Dallas, Corpus Christi phở places are nothing close to being as good as Dallas. In this case, Saigon Café served phở that has a much sweeter broth than any other phở places I’ve tried. Their tapioca(also known as boba) are not as fresh. However, the employees there are extremely nice and it is also a go to place for phở in corpus. I can’t rank this place as if I was in Dallas, that’s just not fair(I would probably give it less stars). But since this is a place I would go again, everyone recommended me this place, and employees are awesome, 3 stars it is. :)

Update 2÷14÷15: Ordered the Bahn Mi which is a sandwich made with your choice of marinated meat, pickled radish(daikon) and carrots, and topped with cilantro on a french baguette. The sandwich was not quite what I expected. Not sure what was wrong but it didn’t taste like other traditional Bahn Mi’s I’ve tried. It wasn’t bad though. I wouldn’t mind ordering it again. I also ordered the Vietnamese Iced Coffee which is made with specific coffee ground that have chicory in it. The coffee is made with a drip coffee maker and then condensed milk and ice is added. It was perfect. Came out quickly and tasted exactly how it should. I’ll definitely come back for more

We were in town visiting and convinced my husbands family to eat at this restaurant. The food was good. I ordered the chargrilled chicken with rice(so did my husband). My father in law ordered the Phở and my sister in law ordered a sampler appetizer(can’t remember the name). My father in law loved the Phở(his first time having it) and is planning on coming back. My sister in law(also from out of town) liked the dish she ordered as well. She gets hesitant about what she eats sometimes so the fact that she ate until she was full speaks high volumes. My husband loved the chargrilled chicken; I will say it could use a little more spice, but that is my own personal taste. The owners/staff were really nice.

Probably one of the worst phở places I’ve ever been to. I am Vietnamese so I’ve eaten phở from Vietnam to California and even the big epicenter of Houston. Literally have eaten at about 100 phở restaurants in my short life thus far. I ordered both phở dac biet and goi cuon. Phở: super sweet broth. Vegetables are not fresh at all. Quality of the meat used was subpar and something I would expect from a Taco Bell kitchen. Goi Cuon: what can I say… It looks and tastes like crap. No meat. Pure vermicelli with old bean sprouts. And it’s the first time I’ve seen oil in my spring rolls. Did the chef not wash his hands after making something greasy?

I’m guessing they sold the place because it’s all new people inside and they tore off the menus on the wall and put up some real odd college dorm room bamboo drapes in front of the chefs now. The cashier lady is very nice and helpful and provides excellent service. The only problem is there was 3 tables in the restaurant and bout 4 cooks and it took me almost 30 – 45 minutes to get my Phở. I have never waited so long in my life for a soup with noodles in it. The Phở had a different flavor embedded in it and some of my meat was raw and suppose to be cooked, I was told it cooks inside the broth. The broth was still very good, however it some what cooked it and half the meat was chewy like gum. Eeh, I’ll try it again soon and hopefully they get with it!

It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Corpus and I was looking for something different. Jumped on Unilocal and this place surfaced to the top. Just finished the #9, and I agree with the fellow Unilocalers on the four stars. The atmosphere was a simple setup with counter style ordering. Plenty of selections. You have an easy view of the kitchen and prep area. The food was served quickly and delivered to my table. I enjoyed my visit today and recommend them highly.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. They were excited to hear that I learned about them from Unilocal. The interiors are typical of Chinese carry out, but don’t let that deter you. I have never been to a Vietnamese restaurant so I had to go by what other Unilocalers had to say. So, I decided on the Bang mi GA Muong, which is a chicken sandwich with pickled carrot, cucumber, cilantro, jalepeno and butter. I also tried to mocha bubbled tea. I decided not to add the tapioca balls on my first go around. Both were delicious! Highly recommend them. I wanted to try the Phở, but I think it would have taken me al day to eat it! Wide variety of people coming and going while I waited for my food. You can tell it is a locals favorite. Yum!
