Nice atmosphere, good selection of food. Waiter was very nice and friendly. Is close to hotels so easy walking distance for those who choose to stay by the USS Lexington area. Wish I got to hear live music.

I had the chicken fried steak and it was so grease I was only able to eat half of it. The mushrooms we ordered were tastey. My wife had the burger an that tasted pretty good so that is why it received 3 stars. They were under staffed so it did take a few minutes before were able to order.

I decided to go back and try them again. I ordered the shrimp baja tacos. They tasted good. My husband had the catch of the day which was blackened red snapper with mixed vegetables, and a baked potatoe. It tasted ok, but it need more seasoning. The baked pota Ty oe need to be cooked longer, and it need more cheese and bacon.

Average dinner tonight. Seafood queso was very good. Serving sizes for entrees on the small side. Gave an extra star for queso and service, which was good. FYI very small bathrooms!

The food was good and the waitress was friendly. The lady that sat us(Rachel) was not friendly(ATALL). There was a really nice off duty cop there that saw how bad we were being treated at first and he paid for our food. Which was really nice of him! Live music was pretty cool as well. At the end of the night we had a great time! I would come back :)

I noticed some decent reviews for this restaurant and so I thought my dad and I should check it out. Based on pictures of the grilled chicken with pineapple by a previous Unilocaler, I ordered that — with steamed vegetables and a loaded baked potato. The food came out in an acceptable amount of time, but when I got it … Ugh! The chicken was dry and flavorless(there’s so much to be said for SALT on a protein, people!), the«grilled pineapple» was straight out of a CAN, and the«steamed» vegetables were so over-cooked that I could have sucked the broccoli through a straw! The only good thing on the plate was the baked potato. Furthermore, this place needs a major make-over and some love and tenderness. The windows were covered with food splatters and fingerprints and I’m just hoping that the strings of dust swaying by the wind of the ceiling fans didn’t land in my food! I will say that the waitress was friendly and attentive, but I would NOT recommend this restaurant unless you have absolutely no other choice.

Understaffed with very slow service. The food was average and really greasy. The soups were delicious though.

Really good atmosphere — the music was good — the service staff were friendly, kind and helpful. I ordered the half pound chilled shrimp — they were really good, fresh and peeled perfectly. For my entrée I ordered Redfish — this was disappointing. The filet was small, overcooked and not very flavorful. With home along the Gulf and having the opportunity to eat some of the best seafood on the planet — this fish didn’t measure up. BUT — the shrimp was good as well as the baked potato and the people.

This little place had great and fresh seafood. The oysters on the half shell were as good as they get at a reasonable price. Live music created great ambience on the Saturday night we went to dinner. Super bonus– the staff was kind enough to mail things we accidentally left there to us in San Antonio! Recommend to all for lunch or dinner while in CC!

Blackbeards food was subpar. I had the tilapia poboy and it was so dry i had to keep adding tartar sauce. My husband had the oyster poboy and said it was not worth the price we paid. We took out of town relatives there and we all agreed(which almost never happens) that this was not going to be a place that we come back to. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Pay no attention to the less than good reviews. Here in CorpusChristi on business and was looking for a ‘hole in the wall’ with good seafood. Unilocal brought me here. The wait-staff was amazing. I had a cup of Pirates stew(OMG!!!) and the Blackys Garlic Special(OMG!!!). Both are signature dishes. I am very glad I came here. The inside décor is average, but the food makes up the difference. My waitress was spot on and very attentive to me. If I could give 6 stars I would.

This place was AMAZING! Started with the calamari appetizer and the Blackbeards Seafood Queso. The queso was a perfect blend of cheese, shrimp and crab. Then I enjoyed the handmade crabcakes and a baked potato. The crabcakes were cooked perfectly! I was VERY pleased with the food all around!!!

I visited this place during lunch. It’s not your four-star restaurant by no means. It has a small town, country, mom/pop restaurant feel to it. Very huge area for indoor seating; small space for outdoor seating. The waitress was prompt to take my order after I was seated. I ordered a blackened shrimp salad. It came with tomatoes, avocado, pineapple, black olives, cheese, red onions, and the shrimp. It was fresh and plentiful! And the prices are very reasonable. The women’s bathroom was so disgusting. I felt very dirty walking out.

We wanted to get a bite to eat with some friends after work, and came to this local spot near our condo at villa del sol. This place seemed unique with each room bein a different atmosphere and a live performance by some local talent guitar player, who was impressively good by the way, but maybe one of a couple good things about our experience. Service was lacking. We waited long for our guacamole, lime, and cheese. By the time we got it, we were half way through our meal. The food we ordered was pretty generic. Seemed very bland, nothing too special about the food. It was way over priced. One thing too worth noting is that with our waitress taking a long time between checking in with our table, we also caught our waitress eating food while handling other food and waiting for orders to come out. Working in customer for 5 years prior experience, this is a big no no for us. Overall we give a thumbs down for our liking. Not the best place to eat out while in north beach/uptown Corpus Christi.

This is a seafood dive. My rating is for the category alone. Good portions, great quality, and the only seafood dive in corpus worth a visit. Service is okay, setting is run-down. Good for vacationing families with small children. Cheap-O!

Of all the seafood meals I had on my weekend there, this had to be the best. I think at 3 stars it’s very underrated. Maybe the louder environment, the touristy location, the indecisive décor, or something else is the reason but I thoroughly enjoyed the food and did not mind the other things. Despite being Memorial day weekend, we were seated quickly. We were sat in the front area and then a large group of boy scouts sat next to us, definitely increasing the noise, but this is a family friendly environment, what do you expect? The décor goes from pirates, to seafood, to sports bar, to many other things that I have now forgotten, but once again, the food made up for it. I had the crab cake burger and my fiancée had the pirate stew and a fish taco. The pirate stew was definitely the pinnacle of the meal. Something very akin to a gumbo but thinner and slightly different in flavor. We even considered ordering a bowl to go. The fish taco was flavored well but otherwise a standard fish taco. The crab cake burger was light and flavorful. We walked out at under $ 20 for a tasty lunch and can’t complain. Definitely worth a trip if you’re down in the tourist trap of Corpus.
