Jives Coffee Lounge

Pretty decent place for a coffee. Is sometimes a little overwhelming, but if you want to get to know the community quickly this place is for sure the place to go to.

My family went to Jives for the first time this morning (Sunday @ 10:30a.m.). I really wanted to like this place — cool atmosphere, local business. However, our visit fell short. Only one guy making the drinks and taking orders. Took 22 minutes to receive two hot cocoas and espresso drink (White Tiger Mocha). The drinks were awful! The hot chocolate was watery and tasteless (think ¼ packet of hot cocoa mix in a large mug of water, yuck!), and the espresso drink tasted just as bad. I hope the manager will take the reviews on here seriously — they need to staff better and revisit their drink recipes. The place has a lot of potential that it’s not living up to.

Amazing.. I love this place. A must go and get the brown sugar lattee.. The pepper here are super friendly.

I’m being generous with 3 stars. I asked for a double shot espresso after hearing all the syrupy choices of «coffee,» I got a bitter cup of meh quality «espresso». The kid working here was pretty annoying and trying way to hard, I felt like I made a huge mistake but I tried giving it a chance and ordered a croissant sandwich, I’m from LA and travelled to France so umm ya the doughy, dry mess I got was definitely not a croissant. They kept blasting crappy teeny bopping annoying «music» it didn’t help and I was trying to catch up on some work during my lunch break here, I was super uncomfortable with the whole situation hearing the guy trying to flirt with the girls at the table next to me. I give 3 stars bc while the food, coffee and overall atmosphere sucked, there is a clear view of the mountains and a really nice gift wrapper lady who doesn’t even work for them but took my dishes when the inattentive, annoying guy was too busy flirting to bother doing his job-​keep in mind there was only 3 customers including me.

Jives is a solid choice!
If you need a place to connect to free wifi and get some work done, pay some bills online, do a little online shopping or if you simply want to read a book, connect with a friend, crochet a sweater, check out what’s on Facebook, or whatever, Jives is awesome!
Today, I came in to do some work online, grab a latte and enjoy some time to myself. The barista was insanely nice/​friendly. And, around lunchtime it really wasn’t too busy or chaotic the way Starbucks down the road was (where I couldn’t even find a parking spot).
Apparently if you’re a student, military or if you ride a Harley you can get a discount. Bummer my daughter (student) wasn’t with me! And, although for a brief time in my life owning and riding a pink and black Harley seemed like the best thing in the world… I am now at the place in life where that thought is absolutely terrifying! So… no discount for me…
The coffee is not as good as some of my other favorites around town and the food is okay but not out of this world.
I will definitely be back!

This place is epic! Love the atmosphere, and all the bar is as have been wonderful. My favorite drink these days is the Cape Town fog. Have it made by Dallas, he’s the best!!!

Amazing customer service!!! Willing to accommodate and work with me on my son’s allergies. Great atmosphere too. Came to work on some school with my son. Hid in a corner with him and was able to work. Soft music playing in the background (nothing hard/​harsh). It was a perfect time!!!

Best study spot in town! Very mellow atmosphere. Baristas are awesome! Wifi works like a dream! There are Star Wars coffee mugs!

Update: After months of not enjoying the coffee, the lousy food, and pitiful service at Jives, our knit group finally moved away from this tragic place. Too bad the owner never responded to me when I pointed our service flaws and poor quality of products.

Disappointed in the last few times I’ve been there. The place is so cute, and the staff is always really friendly, but I’m a night owl so my main draw for this place are the hours. But the last 3 times I’ve come in (usually around 9, and they close around 11 – 12 every night) I am one of the only people there. I order something, and then the staff starts cleaning and about half an hour after I get there they tell me they are about to close. Tonight was the same, got kicked out at 9:40 when they close at 12. I feel bad because I know I’m not drawing enough business to stay open until 12, so I don’t mind them closing early, but they should change their hours then.

Frequent here constantly. Good coffee. Great staff. Music is usually pretty good. Neat building and area. Hours are good. Sometimes the music is unnecessarily loud. The upholstered furniture needs to be thoroughly cleaned… or burned. I just sit on the wooden chairs. Overall, I highly recommend this place!

I’ve become a regular at Jives. Not only do they have great food and drink options, but their service is awesome. The baristas are super friendly and they’re always happy to carry on a convo. The live music is great when they have it. Sometimes it can get pretty loud with the music and convos, but it’s a large shop and they have great outdoor seating with a nice view of Pikes Peak.

I love this place! I’m visiting from Atlanta and saw it from the side of the road. Everyone working here is so friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely atmosphere and its right next to Harley dealer! Ha!

Coffee was pretty good, atmosphere was good… service left a lot to be desired.
My main complaint has to do with the posted hours. My friends and I were looking for a place to go that is open a little later, so we chose Jives. The posted hours said it would be open until 11pm that night. We arrived just after 10pm. At 10:35 the guy behind the counter turned off the lights, the music, and the espresso machine. He came by and told us he would have to kick us out in about 10 minutes. At 10:37 he asked us to go.
I found this extremely unprofessional and off-​putting. I won’t be recommending Jives to friends, and in the future if I need somewhere that is open a little later I’ll be headed downtown.

About time this Jives location opened! I was seriously doubting that would ever happen. This is a perfect location with UCCS and a new apartment complex nearby.
The ambiance is «steampunk» inspired, and really quirky. Somehow it works.
The coffee drinks are priced about the same as any other shop, but at Jives you don’t feel a desire to hurry. It is one of those places where you could kick back for hours. (comfy chairs and couches would be a nice addition)
When you go, get the «White Tiger», a latte featuring white chocolate and white espresso. It is nutty, smooth and rich. Sooo good!

Love Jives only place I know with White Espresso. Getting their liqour license too. Couldn’t be more excited

Cool atmosphere, good coffee, good paninis, GREAT Wi-​Fi!
Place had just opened, but it’s their second location. Had a nice big stage for live music on Fridays and Saturdays. They have open Mic on Thursdays.
This location had nice, hot paninis, great soups, and pastries (meh).
Great view of Pikes Peak and a cool little place to hang out.
