This is my second time here. Came and had dinner last night with my bestie. It was slow so we got seated right away.
Free chips and salsa! I love that!!!
We had the carne asada fries as an appetizer but they were kinda disappointing since they use nacho cheese and considering this is an authentic Mexican restaurant I wasn’t impressed by that so I will not order this item again but they were still good.
I ordered the shredded beef enchilada plate and I lit was super good with bigger portions than most other restaurants. The staff is friendly, nice and attentive. Our food did take a bit long considering it was not very busy so 4 stars and definitely recommend this place.

I’ve been but this place for meany years but never stopped what a mistake that was now that I’ve been there 2 times now they deserve a review the first time I tried one of there combo plates it had a taco an enchilada and a chili relleno rice and beans I was really good and big portion love there refried beans everything was great Then the second time I had shredded beef burrito with there famous cheese sauce I came with rice and beans with a scoop of guacamole But wow it was tasty the burrito was packed with very tasty my only complaint is they salsa could be more spicy or offer both the one they have and a spicy version I like it really hot but I understand some people don’t like it to spicy and that’s ok there fast friendly and welcoming it’s a nice Adobe old world atmosphere that’s really nice I blame my self for not trying this place before it’s amazing it’s not a big place but they bring big flavor

I’ve been coming here since I was 3 or 4. Love the #8, enchiladas are delicious. Customer service is always the best here too not too expensive for the amount of food you get. One of those hole in the walls but so good. Fave restaurant for Mexican food!

I had seen this restaurant before but I never really paid much attention to it until I read that they had good chilaquiles. While I was waiting for my food I couldn’t stop admiring the great artwork they had hanging on the walls!
Food wise– I got the red chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and to be honest, I have tried better. Would totally go back maybe for lunch to try their enchiladas!

Really good Nachos & salsa. Cheap pitcher of beer. I had the pork carnitas it was excellent! Really affordable, great service, good free parking, warm cozy décor & feel.
Don’t ask for hot sauce if your not about that life! Just a finger dab had my tongue on fire!!!
Authentic Mexican food, which was great going in but the DELICIOUS refried beans had no mercy coming out the next morning.
Will definitely come here when in town!!!

I grew up eating here, and fairly often, as this was my extended family’s ‘go-​to’ Mexican restaurant. After not visiting for a very long time (10 years or so) I returned to find things are as good as ever.
Standouts: The Flying Saucer (or half Flying Saucer) — a huge, very loaded tostada.
Their various molé dishes are very good. Just about everything, really is a safe bet.
Portion sizes are very generous, and unless I’m starving, I plan on taking leftovers home with me.
The place is small, and quite popular, so weekend nights you should plan on a bit of a wait. Service is very prompt, and friendly
It’s nice to know an old favorite is still rocking it hard — even after 62 years in business.

Full order of the Flying spacer is huge!
My friends invited me to dinner at this place and said that we’ll share a flying saucer. In my head I was thinking, «aren’t flying saucers small, I don’t want to share.» I was totally surprised when I saw the order come out. This thing could feed a family of 4 and the plate was not even big enough to support it.
I had a great experience coming here. The staff was friendly and our food came out pretty quickly. I was impressed by this place that I will definitely be returning here. Just by looking at the pictures on Unilocal,the next thing I want to try out here will be the chilaquiles.
I highly recommend this place if you’re in the Chula Vista area or if you love flying saucers!

I believe this restaurant has been open since the ’50’s an heck maybe in this location.
I came on a Monday around lunchtime with my family during an outing. We were promptly seated. We were given our menus along with chips, salsa and carrots. I am not much for carrots but my brother seemed to like them. We ordered and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time.
The food was okay but felt more like a sit down taco shop. However the guacamole was very good and they gave a good helping of it. The portions were also quite large.
It was pretty dark inside but a lot of Mexican restaurants tend to be so that really isn’t a bad thing.
Our waitstaff was great and very attentive and efficient.
I don’t know if I would return since it’s not in my normal neighborhood but the lunch wasn’t bad.

My fiancé and I like to try new places, we recently moved into the neighborhood and thought we would give this place a try. We were in no way shape or form disappointed. We got a pitcher of margaritas. The food was good too. We will for sure be back. The only thing I don’t like is when the appetizer comes out with the rest of the food and that did happen. Other than that service was great. The waiter allowed us to enjoy our meal and didn’t ask us 100 times if we need anything, but at the same time we were given everything we needed to enjoy. Cute place nice art give them a try.

Service was excellent. Server came by when drinks was low to refill them and also to check that everything was fine. Had quick friendly service. Food came out nice and hot. Have gone here for years and always a good experience. We will be back. :)

The only down part of this place was until we were half way with our meals i see something walking on the wall next to me and it was a baby roach, i couldnt even finish my food we paid and got out, cause when we told the waiter he just said «oh sorry «and just walked away

I been here before, and I’m not sure if it was better or the same taste wise. I ordered the ranchero steak plate with rice, and beans. The service was friendly, but the food was a different story. It tasted ok, but it sure was lacking in that department. It tasted very balm, and not much of a unique flavor to it.
